I sent them a message telling them only one quote is allowed at the top of page and linked them to What to Put at the Top of a Page for proof. I've mostly given up trying to clean Characters pages, but I'll try removing the extraneous quotes once Mew1996 stops sitting on the page.

Edit: Also let them know about this query in case they want to explain themselves.

I just checked the History page page of edits after being blindsided by someone tellin' me that I had changed a page quote, I find that disturbing because I have no memory of doing that. Wasn't "Protecting the protectors is my duty." already there for a long time?

Since I'm already here I'll try to explain the others, again I do not understand when or how I changed the page quote, partially because I don't remember touching it, partially because I don't see any difference with how it was before and partially because what I saw in the History page I couldn't make sense of.

First the Cain and Abel entry: I said it was an odd and symbolic example because Samus and the Metroids are obviously Not Blood Siblings, but there is a reason why that trope exist, I meant in a more abstract but to my eyes still valid sense. I meant a situation and narrative similar to the Human/Forerunner conflict in Franchise/Halo where both sides are Science Projects of Sufficiently Advanced Alien Precursors fighting each other until one proves superior which is pretty much what happens in Metroid. Both the Metroids and Samus were science projects designed by the Chozo to protect the Galaxy from threats the Chozo couldn't deal with themselves: The former the X parasites, the later everything else (Implied to include the Metroids themselves after they outlived their usefulness and became a threat which if true, it meant the Chozo were aiming for this trope) Family Of Coice is a very important trope in Samus's story and I feel that both being creations of the Chozo gave me a sense of Sibling Rivalry There Can Only Be One vibe for the Metroid arc, even if, just for Irony, neither side ever knew it. That just how I interpret their connection but I can somewhat understand if you consider them too different to be "siblings" in any way.

Second, the He Who Fights Monsters entry, I hope this explanation for what I wrote is to everyone's satisfaction:

Specially poignant because, considering her own past it's all but stated that the actual reason was a huge Heel Realization that she was not so different from it and intentionally deciding to defy the trope.: The Last Metroid is one of, if not the best Foil Samus has, but only because its origin story reflects and contracts with her own. A gentle and innocent newborn with a bright future ahead of her until an alien invader descends from the heavens and then commits genocide against her people, culminating in killing her mother who tried to protect her and her reaction to this invader is to aproach it with gentle kindness and oblivious love. Are we talking about the last metroid and its relationship with Samus, or Samus and her first meeting with Ridley.

Samus becoming part Metroid, something that makes at least young Metroids instinctively friendly towards her, and being pitted against an Evil Twin at her full power (Who makes a point of using the Metroid destroying formula, freeze ray, then Super Missile to the face): Metroid Fusion completely inverts the tipical situation for the series. After fighting metroids for so long, she has become one which fits very neatly into Nietchiam wisdom. I see the SA-X having Samus's appearance and powers as Fate's idea of an ironic joke: Samus has to fight an evil and twisted image of her past self as one of the creatures she used to kill.

Nieztche: He Who Fights Monsters should see to it that he himself doesn't become a monster, for when you stare into the Abyss long enough, the Abyss stares back.

By the time of Dread, her Metroid DNA has started to awaken, slowly turning her into a Human form Metroid and giving her their Life Drinker abilities which (as mentioned in the game's Nightmare Fuel page) she uses those powers the exact same way as the metroids, culminating on her going absolutely feral on the Final Boss, who planned to use her as a bioweapon.: Samus's behavior slowly starts to become more Metroid like to the point where Eating the Enemy becomes a valid tactic, and I don't know about you, but if this was done by a villain of the series, far from cool, this would be horrifying, specially whath she does to Raven Beak, and I feel this more than crosses into this trope's territory enough to be worth mentioning.

The Metroid incident Myth Arc seems to imply that while she's nothing like Space Pirates, she's not so different from the Metroids and leaves the implications of that to the player's imagination.: I personally think that was the intention of the staff and I consider it genius.

The fact that Samus and the Metroids are sister Projects of the Chozo makes things even weirder: Refer to the Cain and Abel note above.

Fox Ax-Crazy: I concide I was wrong, it's indeed Not A Subversion but I still argue that her Unstoppable Rage against Raven Beak fully counts, as she notably stops fighting like a human and more like a Metroid.

Mew again re-added the quote, removed the note telling them NOT to do that, and then re-added one of their tangents on He Who Fights Monsters (specifically, the part about being "in a Metroid's shoes" — there's nothing about being hunted by the SA-X specifically that resembles being a Metroid; Metroid's weapons and fighting methods are not "anti-Metroid". It's like saying that Superman's powers are "anti-Lex Luthor").

And they also left a passive-aggressive edit reason:

The edit was grammatically and semantically awful and I personally didn't like how cut a lot of what I wrote but I don't want to put a Wall of text and start an Edit War. Also, why was part of a sentence missing?

I did no such thing, I left the quote like it was. The sentence I did change was severely broken and missing several words and when I talked about anti-metroid I never talked about weapons or method, I said and meant Technique (Hit the Metroid with an Ice Beam then blast it with Supermissiles while until it dies) as for the edit reason, while I didn't mean to come across as mean, I did have a point.

That's it, someone is using my account without permission!! I promise I'm not doing any of that page quote thing, you think I would have the time with the Wall of text I put to explain what I did write!

So just to be clear: You're saying your account has been hacked by somebody who happens to have an interest in the same game, and the same pages, that you do?

You gotta admit that even if that is actually true, it's not the kind of thing that the rest of us can be expected to believe right away.

Not to mention that the same old "I'm being hacked" excuse just leads to the mods blocking your account for breech of security.

^^^^ I can think of one possibility for why the quotes keep getting added back without doing it intentionally: are you opening the edit window and then taking more than 20 minutes until you actually save your edit?

After 20 minutes the lock on the page expires and someone else can edit the page while you're still working on it. If then save your edit after theirs, you'll do an Edit Stomp and undo what they did, because your edit window that you opened before their edit wouldn't have what they added on it.

When I was trying to remove the extraneous quotes earlier, you had the page checked out, but you didn't make an edit, I had to wait until the lock expired.

Bump. Not sure if this has been resolved or not.

Hello it's me Mew, see after realizing that something was seriously wrong with my account (and hitting a Rage Breaking Point) I decided to make a drastic decision, destroy it myself the reasons are the following: First of all, a Rage Quit, I was not going to stand there while someone did this. Second, by erasing my own account, I burn the tainted bridges before a mod got time to get angry and ban me, and finally I could get a new password. But let's stop talking about that and get back to the tropes I was adding because theylook forgotten

I don't think that was a good idea, deleting your old account and making a new one does not clear the mistakes the old account made, and we'll still know you made them.

It should remove the possibility that it was caused by a breach in account security, though.

But personally, I think the aforementioned Edit Stomp possibility is probably the case here.

So you're ban evading. Gotcha.

I wouldn't say so? To ban evade you must first be banned, which didn't happen here. It's strange behavior, I won't argue against that, and it may or may not be acceptable, but it isn't an attempt to evade a ban.

If nothing else by acknowledging the other account, the mods now know to consider actions taken on the old Mew account alongside this new one, so it doesn't prevent mods getting angry and banning them.

In any case, this issue has been reported up to the Discussions about moderation (other than appeals/reports) forum thread.

I see that Fighteer already marked the old name, I've done so for the new one - the old account was not banned and what is reported here isn't necessarily a reason for one. Keep in mind that if anything like this happens again, we'll probably be stricter.
