Troper Updates II, Part II

So...apparently the inside of one of the shoes I wear for work is wearing out in a very specific way that makes walking in it a bit of a nuisance.

The shoes I'm currently wearing are the only ones that are work-appropriate and weather-appropriate so I guess I'll just have to accept whatever blisters come my way. Yay...

The good news is I’m feeling better after having dinner at one of my favorite restaurants and now that I’m at my favorite cafe working on my writing. :) The bad news is I’m still getting that feeling this week is going to be like a roller coaster again. :(

So, Photoshop had an update that's having a conflict with my tablet. After trying the obvious (restart the program, restart the computer, reinstall the driver) I contacted XP-Pen support, and they helped me narrow it down to the Photoshop update. So I contacted Adobe support, and after trying the obvious ("Are your drivers and OS up to date?") and sending me a self-help article that didn't help at all (which was probably found by searching for keywords relating to my problem), they got back to me... and told me to contact XP-Pen.

C'mon, Adobe. This is ridiculous. If I'm gonna pay a significant chunk of my income for this software, I expect it to work (and to be able to get decent help when it doesn't).

Well, I just bought two tickets to see Wilco and Sleater-Kinney in August. Now I'm hoping my friend will decide if he wants to go soon.

I contacted Adobe again, this time having found instances of other brands of tablets having the same problem with the same Photoshop update. Along with the fact that rolling it back to the previous version fixed it, that seems like solid enough proof that the issue is on Adobe's end... but they still insist that it's a third-party problem. If it weren't for their gosh-darn proprietary file formats, I'd have switched to a free alternative by now.

While researching the issue, I did find that version 21.1 had a bunch of problems anyway, so maybe by the time they sort the worst of that out, the problem I was having will be fixed too. I can use the previous version as a temporary workaround in the meantime. At this point, though, their way of "solving" the problem is every bit as frustrating as the problem itself.

My school just made Spring Break a week longer, and also made the classes over the Internet (except the ones that actually need face-to-face interaction between the teachers and students).

This is just fucking splendid. My desktop PC crapped out, so I'll have to troubleshoot it after I get some sleep. It's either drive failure, which means I lost my entire library of photos, videos and music (and, worse yet, the files necessary to make videos and livestreams), or motherboard failure, which means that on top of that, I'm ABSOLUTELY FUCKED.

At least livestream overlays got saved in the Streamlabs cloud...

Oh geez. I’m terribly sorry to hear that. :(

Update for today: I was scheduled to go to work today, but I’m not feeling well enough to go there. The dizzy spells I’m having certainly aren’t helping. x_x I knew that unexpected snowstorm yesterday wasn’t a good sign.

Another update: Well, I didn’t get chewed out like I thought would happen. That was good. :) Though today still wasn’t all that good. :( The cold and wet weather didn’t help.

So I just svejked my boss. Basically, if I get a stupid order at work, I try to be VERY Literal-Minded about it. To the point of idiocy. My boss demanded to have every work e-mail I send to people CC'd to her. She gave up after twenty automatic confirmations I have to forward to people.

Out of forty.

Last night I finished reading Volume VII of The Kingdom Keepers, The Insider, and thus I have finished the series. :) Now onto the Sequel Series: The Return.

I have been feeling very depressed and anxious about the pandemic. Not about getting it myself, but my parents and younger brother are all at a higher risk of contracting it. We have plenty of food storage, but I am a very picky eater so things are going to be very hard for me on that front.

I'm also worried about my local game shop. All the local businesses really, but that one in particular. If it goes under because of this, I might legit cry.

It may still be March, but I think I know what I want for my birthday now.

As much as I like my humidifier, it looks like I'll be retiring it sooner than I thought, considering that it just dangerously sparked.

My washing machine almost gave me a Garden Hose Squick Surprise. Turned out that the hose used to drain the water pump filter for cleaning was bent shut inside the machine, so I couldn't drain it, and after I straightened it, out came something looking like black ooze with white chunks (think polystyrene or shreds of wet tissue). And not on its own, I had to rinse it out using a syringe with a length of silicone tubing.

Gross.

I just got diagnosed with psychogenic polydipsia. The doctor wants me to get CBT. I can't think of any stresses or delusional thoughts that could possibly be causing this, but the only other treatment involves fluid restriction, which I've already tried, and which only made me miserable. I hope the therapy works.

Im sure I still have a body in the corporeal realm

Now for a more positive update. I'm starting to feel better after a nice dinner and watching Blazing Saddles. :)

Speaking of dinner and a movie, I'm getting closer to the end of the Greece chapter of my new short story. :) I can smell it.

I finally did it. I completed the sixth chapter of my new short story. :)

As for me, I'm going nuts, and not in a good way. The political situation gives me anxiety, and for those who remember my activity in the political discussions here - The Extremist Was Right, bitches!

I have good news and bad news.

The good news is I'm starting to feel better after a good dinner and watching Naked Gun 33-1/3: The Final Insult. :)

The bad news is I hope I'm not sounding like a selfish jerk when I say this, but after what this week was like, I feel rather tempted to take a week off just to get some peace of mind.

I’m currently in the middle of a self-imposed two-week hiatus from Discord due to my impulsive and emotional behavior that doesn’t encourage conversation. I have been banned from two channels already, and the server staff is done playing nice. I doubt I’ll ever truly improve.

On the bright side, due to current events, I will not be having finals this year.

I borrowed an idea from Acts of Gord, which in turn borrowed it from some Married... with Children episode: I'm going on "vacation" to various places around the world while staying home- for instance tomorrow I'm going to be in England, so I'll watch Monty Python and other British TV, listen to The Beatles, maybe make fish and chips for dinner.

One year we celebrated London New Year because my brother keeps a strict habit of going to bed immediately after dinner and we wanted to include him. We watched 101 Dalmatians, ate fish and chips, and counted to midnight GMT.

I'm doing something sort of similar. I'm cooking up dinners that match each of the 21 vacation destinations in my fifth short story.
