This is a thread to discuss those Administrivia pages in need of a little updating- you know the ones. The ones that still cite rules we've long since changed, or the ones that don't properly cite our current standards. Some of them are even scattered in Main/!
So, this is the place to take those pages and fix them up with the help of the community.
For a list of current projects, see Outdated Administrivia Pages.
Note: This thread is not for asking mods to make one-off edits to Locked Pages, Administrivia-related or otherwise, such as requesting additions to an Example Sectionectomy index. Please use this thread for that.

I think Trope Decay is not an actual Trope Trope and is more about a note for the wiki, so moving makes sense.
TroperWall / WikiMagic CleanupI took another look at that index and I agree, since most of those items are meta concepts about tropes (how they play out, how they get started or fall out of usage and other concepts regarding the "lifespans" of tropes, stuff like that) instead of being about what happens with our pages for them. (Basically, the difference is between what's caused by people who use tropes in their works instead of what's caused by people who describe them on wiki pages.) I also think the entire Administrivia section of the Trope Tropes index probably doesn't fit the definition of a Trope Trope either, and should probably limited to the regular Administrivia index.

Patiently awaiting the release of Paper Luigi and the Marvelous Compass.Would TRS be needed for changes like that, or no? I can queue it up myself if it needs TRS. (Though I don't want to take too many slots at once—between I Knew It!, these tropes, and an ongoing wick check I'm doing for Rabbit Magician that's turning up a lot of Chairs-y misuse so far I'd have three slots in a row.)
TRS Queue | Works That Require Cleanup of Complaining | Troper WallHonestly, yeah, I wouldn't be against taking the whole Trope Tropes index to TRS and put this discussion of Trope Decay on hold until that happens. Wouldn't be the first time an index was taken to TRS after questions were raised regarding whether some listings actually belong there — I previously took No Straight Examples, Please! to TRS for having unfitting entries (mostly ones that belonged on Definition-Only Pages or Definition-Only Pages; I made a crowner for whether to move them to those indexes or just not have them on either those indexes nor No Straight Examples, Please!).

Patiently awaiting the release of Paper Luigi and the Marvelous Compass.Besides the Administrivia section, are there other problems with Trope Tropes I should note in an OP? Once I have what I need I'll queue up Trope Tropes.
TRS Queue | Works That Require Cleanup of Complaining | Troper WallWell, I think the description at the top of the page described the meta aspect better than I did:
What happens to our pages for tropes and/or wicks to our pages has nothing to do with what happens to the concepts our pages describe; the index is for aspects that are outside our control, and are merely described by us.

Patiently awaiting the release of Paper Luigi and the Marvelous Compass. Thanks Gaston. I've queued it up—how does it look? Anything I should note that I missed? Any improvements I should make?
TRS Queue | Works That Require Cleanup of Complaining | Troper WallI'd remove Administrivia section at Trope Tropes as its redundant with just Administrivia and also doesn't suit the index.
e: didn't see it's pending trs now

TroperWall / WikiMagic Cleanup~The Mayor of Simpleton — Maybe change the "what's caused by who use tropes in their works" part of the quoted part of my post to "what's caused by people who use tropes in their works" because it looks like I missed a word originally because I was tired at the time, presumably to the surprise of no one; I went to bed around when the posts between my previous post and this post were posted. (I edited the post you quoted to fix it because I didn't notice the mistake until just now.)
Maybe you could also quote this paragraph from my previous post, but it's up to you:
Edit: Oh, right, and I'd like to be paged to the thread if I'm not the one who opens it. (I'll just add that myself.) (Update: Done.)

Patiently awaiting the release of Paper Luigi and the Marvelous Compass.Should we add Indexes to Not a Trope? I was told countless times they don't work as tropes.
TroperWall / WikiMagic CleanupMakes sense to us. Under "Not tropes, but still notable" maybe something like this:
- Indexes: Or "indices", if you prefer, but either way, these are collections of pages within a similar theme or topic, and are not themselves tropes, so there's no such thing as an "example" of them.
Maybe with a note that some super tropes also have an indexing function but are okay if their page type isn't set to index? Or whatever the rule is.

Patiently awaiting the release of Paper Luigi and the Marvelous Compass.Updated How to Create a Work Page with the expansions from here, as discussed here.
Still need to think of something to cover cases like VideoGame.Tron Two Point Oh (TRON 2.0)

I don't know what you're referring to (the link doesn't work properly), nor do I know why you're bringing up that thread here instead of just using that thread directly. If something has a dedicated Wiki Talk thread, use that one instead of fragmenting discussion.
Either way, I don't see how that thread is relevant to a thread about outdated policy pages because it was made to clarify something that wasn't already clearly written down instead of clarifying something that's already written down, but needs work.

Patiently awaiting the release of Paper Luigi and the Marvelous Compass.I suggested on that thread that further discussion on expanding the media templates on Administrivia.Media Categories to include subcategories such as video game, music, tabletop game subgenres would go here instead of the Tabletop Game Folderization thread because making templates for those subgenres were brought up. There was talk about having an official Administrivia page for Tabletop Game folder organization once that gets officialized but I didn't think that was necessary.
Also, the crowner on the RPG Categorization thread decided to do away with categorizing RPG games as Eastern/ Western on trope pages instead classify them as Action RPGs /Turn based RPGs. I thought it might be useful to add subcategories to Administrivia.Media Categories just to have it as a reference for things like that but I could be wrong.

Macron's notesthere's also the unresolved discussion on media categories.
Ah, OK; disregard my previous post then. I got thrown off by the combination of the broken link and the fact that I forgot that there was unresolved discussion on media categorization.
Patiently awaiting the release of Paper Luigi and the Marvelous Compass.I updated Administrivia. What To Do If You Are Suspended because it was a bit outdated, because what was previously the most recent change to the page was about how PM suspensions completely blocked off PMs, but as of the most recent batch of site updates, that's no longer true and PM suspensions now simply set PMs to read-only.
I removed the bolded part of this text:
I had already been planning to do this, but it kept slipping my mind until a bit ago.

Patiently awaiting the release of Paper Luigi and the Marvelous Compass. On Media Categories FAQ, should we add a section for Light Novels?
Did that.
Changed this:
Where do examples from Web Serial Novels go?
"Literature".
To this:
Where do examples from Light Novels go?
"Literature".
Where do examples from Web Serial Novels go?
Also "Literature".
I decided to word "Also 'Literature'" the way I did as kind of a subtle jab at the fact that the article was kind of repeating itself, though the fact that I just got out of bed might have been making me think it was a better idea than it actually was.
Patiently awaiting the release of Paper Luigi and the Marvelous Compass.Nope, legitimately good "also", thanks!
It's probably in Main/ because it was made in 2009, and pages started to get namespaced around 2011 or so (if I'm not mistaken). I'm not against moving it to Administrivia/ (another Trope Trope, Missing Supertrope, was moved from Main/ to Administrivia/ about a year ago, albeit by TRS and not this thread), but I'll wait for more feedback first.
Edit: Oh, I love the smell of pagetoppers in the morning.
