Hey everyone, quick update about the watermarks. I spoke with the owner of TV Tropes and he said network watermarks can be fine in some cases. We just want to try and avoid them but if it's not possible, then we can allow them. Sorry about having to deny your videos, I'll go through and put them back.
Let me know if you have any questions.
Who are you?

Currently mostly inactive. An incremental game I tested: https://galaxy.click/play/176 (Gods of Incremental)Took me some digging, he's the TV Tropes social media guy, apparently.
So, Cole, do you know if there's any plans to expand the ability to change/remove/edit video examples? Are you privvy to that sort of information?
Oh, that's awesome and good to hear.

Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure Purenesshaha sorry everyone. I'm Cole, I work for TV Tropes.
Yes we are working towards giving everyone more freedom to edit the videos. We want to make it so users can edit media sources, titles and descriptions. If there is something you think should be a top priority for the video section, please let me know and I can help.
I know they were deleted because of the network tics and not for spoilers, but all the spoilery Steven Universe videos are getting reuploaded.
Jawbreakers on sale for 99ยขShould we require people to say which episode their TV show clip is from? There's the possibility that the episode name could already be listed on the trope page/series page/recap, but just having it there in the first place would be nice.
The things in my dreams wish they could chase me!This brings up one of my suggestions: Make the "Contains Spoilers" tick on the Edit Videos tab actually do something to "hide" videos. Currently, there are videos that have spoilers and have the "Contains Spoilers" tick checked, but still run as if they're normal videos. If there's any way to "hide" these spoilered videos, I'd apprieciate it.
I personally think videos which have "Contains Spoilers" on should just have a simple spoiler thumbnail created for TVT's purposes.

Currently mostly inactive. An incremental game I tested: https://galaxy.click/play/176 (Gods of Incremental)My concern is that it's end up as useful as all-white entries; which is to say not at all, as people may be forced to check the video just to see if they can watch the video.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessIf you already know the work in question, or you have no problem with being spoiled (for example because you are not interested in the work), then it can be useful. Also, for a video you can start watching and stop, for example if you immediately see that it is an episode you are not familiar with, before you get to the actual spoilery part.
My suggestion is that videos with the "contains spoilers" checkbox enabled should have a red-on-black SPOILER mark instead of a normal thumbnail.
The universe is under no obligation to make sense to us.The "The Infinity Stones" video on MacGuffin showcases Mineral MacGuffin and should be moved to avoid misplacing of examples.
CASCHero, yes, I believe a Linkara video with an AT4W watermark would be allowed if there wasn't one without it available. It's essentially the same as a network bug, which are allowed per About Images and Copyright, though we prefer not having them for aesthetic reasons.
I also agree that spoiler videos should have a "spoiler warning" thumbnail, as well as having autoplay disabled.

Keet cleanupAlright so question. How will videos work on the Complete Monster entry? Do I have to get the people at the Complete Monster discussion thread in Long Term Projects to think about it, or can I just upload it as long as the character is an example?
I was thinking of this backstory video.
Oh, can the video for "Spin to deflect stuff" get removed. It's pretty clear that's pirated footage.
I don't think we should have that on the videos tab.
For the Complete Monster video, ask the thread directly if they want to allow videos, I've seen you post there occasionally.
For the Spin to Deflect Stuff video, are you sure it's pirated? Recording stuff is fairly hard and not everyone can get the best quality, plus it's not shakey.

Currently mostly inactive. An incremental game I tested: https://galaxy.click/play/176 (Gods of Incremental)A few more inquiries from me:
- I was wondering about the "Featured Video" tick on the Edit videos tab. From several observations, it appears to make videos always be the first to autoplay, even if later videos are added in. How should we distinguish what videos deserve to be "Featured" (Should mods decide? Should it be based on a crowner system? Etc.)? What should happen if multiple videos are "featured" at the same time (I.E. should featured videos cycle? Should they be chosen to autoplay at random?)?
- (x10)(to Grotadmorv) I think that a "good" video example contains enough context that it's useful as an example even without the episode as context. However, I do think that stating the episode number/name somewhere in the title or description is helpful for giving more context as well as for archival purposes.

I was the one who put the SpinToDeflectStuff video and I don't have good video-making software so I used a Youtube video. I've had my videos rejected for watermarks so I didn't want to put any there.

The video for Omae Wa Mou Shindeiru is too long BTW. It's over 3 minutes.
I'm trying to upload a video, but it's not working.
There are a few longer videos where it's justified, but that one looks like it could be cut down a bit.

Could literally just be this 10 second clip and it'll still work.

While it does an good job at portraying Absurdly High-Stakes Game, I'm not quite sure of the copyright kurfuffle that comes from using an entire fan song for a video.
Jawbreakers on sale for 99ยขHuh, just noticed that the Video Examples page for Daily Life with Monster Girl is no longer visible. It's still there, you just need to type it in manually. What's up with that?
Edit: Been looking around to see if this applies to any other series and found that the House video on Deadpan Snarker incorrectly links to a redirect, making an examples page unreachable from the main page.
Edit 2: Looks like the monster girls are back. Still no idea what that was all about.

Would you accept the Big City Greens video for Playing Possum, since I can't include watermarked videos and it came from Kim Cartoon, and its watermark is visible in the top left?
