I might be thinking of the extended cut, which was much more explicate in Ship Tease. Either way neither have a creator preferred one.

Fan-Preferred Couple cleanup threadOkay combed through the film ones, and I removed the ones which did not fit the new definition of creator preferred pairing. Here's one I am unsure of:
- James Bond is, of course, hardly the type to settle down (except that one time, and it's implied he was at least considering it a few other times), but with fans who think he should, the most popular pairing, at least among female fans on LiveJournal, seems to be not with any of his lovely companions from his adventures but rather with his perennial UST object, MI6 secretary Moneypenny. The ones that aren't Yaoi Fangirls, anyway; those typically pair him with Alec. They shared everything, you know...
I don't think the TRS decided if a Girl of the Week is an official couple or not. Any thoughts?
Fan-Preferred Couple cleanup threadIt mentions a couple of films where he did consider a legitimate relationship, so if it's the same continuity as the FPC and is less popular than that FPC in fanon, I'd say it counts. (I was of the opinion that Girl of the Week and Temporary Love Interest still count as canon.)
I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.Girl of the Week I think, no, if they really are for like only an episode or whatever, but a Temporary Love Interest tends to be around for at least a bit. I think the latter might be better because a Girl of the Week is generally designed to be pretty disposable.
"Let’s see who’s stronger: someone that has something to protect, or someone that has nothing to lose."Anymore opinions on the above?
Fan-Preferred Couple cleanup threadMoneypenny is basically the closest thing Bond has to a "main love interest", because his UST with her carries across multiple movies and eras, whereas each "canon" love interest is only in one installment, so I'm not sure they're "more canon" than her.
Plus I reasonably sure it is more popular to ship him with Q then either of those two. Though that might just be the reboot timeline, and I have only seen like one of those films. So I could be wrong.

Fan-Preferred Couple cleanup threadI could use some opinions on these. From Live-Action TV
- The Star Trek franchise has:
- Kirk/Spock from Star Trek: The Original Series is one of the most famous examples of this trope. It was the first slash pairing that became popular enough to inspire slash-dedicated fan conventions and fanzines and codified the use of the "/" symbol to distinguish a romantic pairing from a friendly one. Virtually all shipping fics for the series are dedicated to it and you'd be hard-pressed to find a TOS fan who ships Kirk or Spock with anyone other than each other. Whatever we do with the Bond one will help us here
- Star Trek: Voyager had one in The Doctor and Seven of Nine. This ship was actually teased at in the show, developed, then out of nowhere was derailed for the universally reviled Chakotay/Seven pairing that capped off the series in its final season. (Speculation is that this was a last-ditch effort to make up for Chakotay's lack of character development and sub-par writing. As a consolation prize for the actor, snogging Jeri Ryan is not exactly terrible, but this derailed not one but two highly popular Fan Preferred Couples — Doctor/Seven, and Janeway/Chakotay.) This entry is freaking weird. I can't find a single place where the Doctor/Seven is remotely popular. There are more popular ships though. Janeway/Chakotay and Seven/Janeway. So I am thinking of just rewriting it.
- DS9 had a large following for Garak/Bashir. However, once the studio realized that, they forced the writers to phase the Ho Yay out of their relationship and Bashir ended up with Ezri (in the re-launch novels, they break up). This can stay. Bashire is married in the expanded universe.
- Also, O'Brien/Bashir, which seemed to gain the Ho Yay Garak/Bashir was losing. Keep. O'Brian is married.
- Odo/Kira started as this. Rene Auberjonois, almost from the very start, played his character as having deep but unrequited feelings for Kira, which was noticed by the showrunners and given more and more importance in the storyline, and the fans took the ball and ran with it. Though Nana Visitor fought the decision to make them canon in Season 6, fearing it would have negative repercussions for both characters if his feelings were requited, she was ultimately satisfied with how they were handled, and so Odo/Kira has remained a Star Trek fan mainstay ever since. I have no idea what this is trying to say. Do either have a creator preferred one.
- Trip and T'Pol being teased as an odd mutation of the Official Couple during the 3rd and 4th seasons of Enterprise became a fan favorite. Both times the writers seemed to settle their relationship it was too late in the season and got overshadowed by other plots, and had seen an abrupt ending soon after, the first teased a possible future, the second did as well despite Trip's death. A death which the Star Trek: Enterprise Relaunch novels couldn't retcon away fast enough; the literally did it on the first page. This website is dedicated to fan fiction based on the pairing. This sounds like a creator preferred on. Cut.
Thoughts?

Fan-Preferred Couple cleanup threadYeah, Bond’s a really tough case because yeah, his UST with Moneypenny could be Creator Preferred and there’s also his marriage to Tracy in which she certainly was a legit love interest since the aftermath of her Murder was felt in the movies to comes. So yeah, however the Q dynamic is favored in whichever film incarnation (be it original, reboot or both) would in some way be an example. It remains to be seen as to whichever way it goes effects any other examples in the process too.
As for the Star Trek ones, I can only attest to the Original Series (for the most part at least) and Next Generation (for what I’ve seen of it). I totally see Kirk/Spock on any count being considered (though basically the same thing with Bond/Q as Bull has said) and I’m actually a little surprised Kirk/Khan in either respect doesn’t have a big following though (at least not enough for an entry anyway).
Edited by futuremoviewriter on May 5th 2021 at 3:55:41 AM
Next Generation doesn't have an entry. It's most popular ship is canon.
Kirk/Kahn has a fallowing, but it's just not a big one. Another nice example would probably be Bones/Kirk.

Fan-Preferred Couple cleanup threadYou mean Riker/Troi? If so, that totally makes sense.
So where are we on Bond/Q and Kirk/Spock then?
No I mean Picard/Crusher.
Edited by Bullman on May 7th 2021 at 7:43:58 AM
Fan-Preferred Couple cleanup threadWell then who’s Riker’s most popular? Also, who’s Troi’s?
Riker/Troi is their most popular. It's one of the few Star Trek shows where the canon ships are the most popular, with one exception.
Anymore opinions on the Star Trek and Bond stuff?

Anymore opinions on the Star Trek ones?
Fan-Preferred Couple cleanup threadAgent Carter has 4 different ships with Peggy and 2 for Sousa and Jarvis as the fan preferred one. Only 1 is allowed per character right?
The examples:
- Peggy and Jarvis. Not only do they have natural chemistry together, it helps Jarvis treats Peggy with a lot more respect than her coworkers. A Valentine's Day promo even outright billed them as a couple. Despite this, though, it ain't happening because Jarvis has been stated by the writers to be utterly faithful to his wife. Once his wife started appearing in Season 2, they themselves became a Fan-Preferred Couple.
- Peggy and Angie is just as popular as, if not more than, Peggy/Jarvis. It helps that Angie fulfills a lot of the roles that a love interest would typically take in superhero/spy movies, such as finding some resistance from Peggy when she tries to bond with her, being irritated when the hero's double life interferes with her being able to spend time with Peggy, and trusting Peggy so much that when Peggy is being pursued by the SSR, she helps her without asking for any kind of explanation. As of the season 1 finale, they're officially living together.
- Violet and Sousa gained some traction as well, once it was established that Violet knows all about Sousa's SSR work - and is 100% supportive. Plus due to being nice and having an Adorkable side, there are many fans who wouldn't mind Sousa marrying someone else if it was her.
- Peggy and Jason was quite popular for Season 2, as they had a very good chemistry. Unfortunately, nothing came out of it.
- Judging from Youtube and Facebook comments the most popular ship of season 2 was Peggy/Sousa.
Multiple ships are allowed, but we try to keep it to one unless they are really close in popularity. Peggy/Angie keep easily. Peggy/Jarvis is not popular enough, his canon ship is more popular. To my knowledge Sousa's most popular ship is with Peggy, but they were basically the closest thing the show had to a creator couple for either. So it can't count. Everything else is not popular, enough. Basically cut everything but Peggy/Angie.

Fan-Preferred Couple cleanup threadAny opinions on the Star Trek examples?

Fan-Preferred Couple cleanup threadCatching up on this thread with the new rules! This is on Dear Evan Hansen?
- Fan-Preferred Couple: Connor/Evan. Having Evan hastily clarify that they weren't gay in "Sincerely, Me" only added fuel to the fire. Also: Evan/Jared, Evan/Connor/Jared, and Zoe/Alana. Every possible pairing that is not canon is far more popular among the fandom than the canon Zoe/Evan. However, unlike other examples of this, Die for Our Ship isn't really invoked for the most part; many AU fanfics have Zoe as a supportive sister/friend to the other characters as they form a relationship of their own.
I looked it up on AO 3, which was the main fanfic site when DEH was popular, and indeed Connor/Evan is the most popular ship by a huge margin. All of the other ships mentioned are more popular than Evan/Zoe (the only real canon ship) as well. So with those details, this entry would count, right?
I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.By all accounts, yes. It has a creator preferred one to overshadowed, and is very popular. So yeah. It counts in my opinion. Though I feel like the other one not contacted to Evan, but features Zoe could use it's own entry.

Fan-Preferred Couple cleanup threadOkay from Video Games
- Until Dawn:
- Until Dawn comes with a group of 8 young characters who are conveniently paired off with each other. Still, a lot of people like the idea of Mike and Samantha being together instead of with Jess and Josh, thanks to their statuses as the top badasses of the group. The game seems to encourage this by sticking the two in situations where they save each other and, if both survive, shows them clinging to each other as they watch the lodge go up in flames. From my research their canon ships seem far more popular. Particularly Sam's, but that might be because Josh is played by a fangirl favorite Rami Malek. This is not unpopular, but not more popular than their canon ones.
- Jess and Matt have their shippers, too. They're dating Mike and Emily respectively, but are separated from them halfway through the game, culminating in the two of them escaping the mines together if they both survive to the climax. That plus the facts that Matt's relationship with Em isn't exactly harmonious and that Mike himself is part of a different Fan-Preferred Couple (as mentioned above) lend to people liking the idea of seeing them together. Same thing as above.
I think these need to be cut, but I have never played the game. So I would like more opinions.

Fan-Preferred Couple cleanup thread
It’s a little weird because I’m not sure the movie itself ever goes to that idea.
