Inspired by this thread, I've noticed that this wiki doesn't have a dedicated cleanup thread for negativity.
As we all know, Complaining About Shows You Don't Like, Creator Bashing and other negativity isn't desired on the wiki, except in a few selected areas like reviews and several Darth Wiki pages (and even then, with limitations). And yet, it's one of the most common sins wiki contributors can make.
So, if you find a page, TLP or discussion whose content seems like a straight-up insult or any other bitching - including complainy soapboxing -, you might ask here for help with removing said content.
The sandbox for this project is located at Works That Require Cleanup of Complaining.

So, I know Idiot Programming is a Darth Wiki page, but this edit by ~Sponge Bat 1 seems way angrier than even Darth typically allows.
Trouble Cube continues to be a general-purpose forum for those who desire such a thing.Hi there everyone. I am new to the site and was directed here regarding an inquiry. So troper ZeroHunter deleted entries regarding Fairy Tail including the entirety of the Ass Pull entries in Fairy Tail, New Powers as the Plot Demands, and Protagonist-Centered Morality, all with the reason of "Getting rid of pointless bashing." Should these be restored? From what I read, it doesn't seem entirely pointless or bashing.
she/herIt does. Judging by the tone of the entry, I suspect the troper who added it recently had a negative experience with the program. Rewrite it to be less angry.
TRS Queue | Works That Require Cleanup of Complaining | Troper WallI don't actually know anything about Blender or its allegedly awful programming, but on a second look, the example doesn't actually contain any relevant information anyway, so I just removed it.
Trouble Cube continues to be a general-purpose forum for those who desire such a thing.Re: Fairy Tail
Asked the other mods for their input., and New Powers as the Plot Demands can be reinstated. We should keep an eye on that page just in case. No word on the other entries.
Protagonist-Centered Morality could use a bit of cleaning.

she/her | TRS needs your help! | Contributor of Trope Report@Berrenta thank you for letting me know, re-added the New Powers as the Plot Demands entry with your forum post cited as an edit reason. Will be waiting for the mods' further input on the Ass Pull entries.
EDIT: Re-looked at the Fairy Tail history and it looks like the user deleted other mentions of "controversial" aspects of the series such as fanservice and Bile Fascination with the same reason of "Getting rid of pointless bashing."

she/herI agree with the removal of Blender from Idiot Programming, since it was simply a case of Complaining About Software You Don't Like instead of anything related to shoddy programming.
Patiently awaiting the release of Paper Luigi and the Marvelous Compass.I found this entry on Cross Cultural Kerfuffle:
- Harley Quinn (2019) has a plot point that baffled English-speaking audiences outside the USA. Doctor Psycho is ostracised by his peers, and by everybody, for using the word cunt in an altercation with Wonder Woman. In places like Britain and Australia note , this was a head-scratcher: in a TV show that uses "fuck" liberally and un-bleepedly, why was this word bleeped out as if it were a big deal, and what was so shocking about a character who is even called Psycho using it as an insult to the woman who's just got the better of him in a fight? The guy's entitled to vent in those circumstances, for fuck's sake... the fact that in the USA using this word to a woman is beyond the event horizon even by a villain didn't really travel well.
I get what the entry is getting at (how the word "cunt" isn't considered as offensive in other countries, so everyone's shock at Psycho using the word doesn't translate as well), but the entry seems oddly accusing and defensive. Should the entry be rewritten?
I may have encountered some bashing over a character's hypocrisy in Characters.Dream SMP:
Technoblade
- Hypocrite: One of Technoblade's biggest vices against Tommy is that he claims Tommy only ever saw him as "The Blade"... which is a bit rich coming from the guy who only ever refers to Tubbo as "Government" and Tommy as "Hero", and that's not even getting into how "The Blade" is a nickname that existed before Technoblade even joined the Dream SMP.
This seems like a valid example, since it ultimately boils down to "Techno hates how one-note Tommy's view of him is despite behaving the same way towards others himself." Remove that last part about "the Blade" preceding the SMP, however, as it's not relevant to Techno the character, only Techno the person.

"If you spent as much time fightin' as ye did hidin', maybe this wouldn't have happened!"But Hypocrite only applies in-universe, as in, it needs to be called out in-story.

- Reddit used to have several small subreddits like /r/creepshots that were, essentially, creepy threads used by scumbags to distribute every thing from stalkerish photos of women to child porn. The users were appropriately horrified and demanded that the staff purge those threads. The mods refused for the reason that doing so would break their own rules regarding freedom of speech. After media attention forced them to purge the threads, the site's management is deeply embarrassed over their failure to properly deal with them, especially because it gave the site and its users a poor reputation that Reddit is still struggling to move past, which in turn led to the site and its users frequently being insulted and harassed by communities like Something Awful. Because of this, the site's moderation is much stricter than it used to be, in order to prevent illegal threads like that from cropping up again. Reddit has also disowned violentacrez, a once well-liked, popular, and trusted Redditor who turned out to be a creepy jerkass who participated in the above-mentioned creepthreads.
Isn't Lawful Stupid NORLEP?
Jerkass is NRLEP too.
Thomas fans needed! Come join me in the the show's cleanup thread!John Kricfalusi has tons of complaining on his page regarding the recent scandals about him and his contentious nature in general. The page (and possibly his wicks) might need a look, I've already added him to Infamous And Controversial Works.

TRS Queue | Works That Require Cleanup of Complaining | Troper WallI remember when I was checking The Remedy 91's edits for complaining, they left some stuff on YMMV.The Goddamn George Liquor Program complaining about John K's pedophilia beyond the point of relevancy, but thankfully the edits were cleaned up. Still, definitely an issue of complaining with this guy, and even if it's rightfully deserved, it gets distracting.
I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe. His animation blog is pretty bad too, particularly on the YMMV subpage.
back loland : Thanks for the input, I've added a mention of the blog to Kricfalusi's entry.

Recently, an Edit War has broken out between two factions; a troper named Johnny 2071 who has acted in violation of Complaining About Shows You Dont Like, and both myself and fellow troper AHI-3000, who have taken issue with his edits. Johnny 2071 has an obsessive hatred of the Netflix show F is for Family and has taken to venting his frustrations about the show on the WMG page. Prior attempts to negotiate with Johnny 2071, on my part, have only led to tempers flying high. This attempt to resolve the issue personally has gotten me nowhere, so, on AHI-3000's suggestion, I have come here to try and work things out far more professionally than previously handled. How do you suggest this issue be resolved?
I took a look at the WMG page for F is for Family and this is what was added, for context:
Then we get nasty 3am wake ups that make both Frank and Sue neurotic and completely irritable where they actually regret what was obviously a doomed setup to begin with. In addition to Frank, Sue is particularly nasty to Bill and Maureen for being their normal selves and causing too much noise, complete with swearing at them and hitting them worse than what we saw in Season 2.
To top it off, the children are held accountable for anything that happens to the baby (who still doesn't have a name), while Frank and Sue deal with matters concerning his mother and sister, Frank's job situation with Mohican Airways, Sue feeling stressed and empty over wanting success and to finish college, and then their marriage after yet another nasty meltdown.
At this point, Sue has pretty much discarded Bill and Maureen as people, along with any of their personal problems, while Frank remains Frank. This leads Bill to go full 'hood and ensue in so many acts of delinquency that it would make Kevin or Jimmy Fitszimmons blush. He also gets in trouble with his parents for this, who don't even care why it happened in the first place, and dismiss him as a typical disciplinary issue.
Maureen however would just be a mixed bag in all this. As for Kevin, he screws up royally somewhere, to the point where Alice gets fed up and just breaks up with him. While all this is going on, the baby actually goes missing, leading everyone into a panic. Frank and Sue comedown royally hard on their children for letting this happen.
However, things work out somehow in the most outlandish ways when Frank's mother and sister get involve, along with other recurring problem/distraction characters who are continuously present in many random scenes. They eventually find the baby, and every is suddenly okay (even though it isn't) where they can smile together as a family. Frank jumps through leaps and bounds to make Sue forgive him, while she herself contributes nothing), the baby eventually gets a name, and the season throws yet another unnecessary cliff-hanger.
Except this one won't be resolved since Season 5 will be the final season to end the series, leaving virtually no time to tie up any loose ends or give us any long overdue heartwarming moments in places where they're needed. It's pointless to hope for good things in this show. The writers just don't care.
With that said, this final season will go out with a bang the way the writers feel proud doing (based on their track record and taste).
Why else would she give fake insincere apologies, and treat both her husband and children like shit whenever she feels like it, even when they don't do anything to deserve it? Sue is a horrible person/character, and so many women aren't much better either.
Please, just please writers! There's no hope for the Murphy family to ever redeem themselves. The family is filled with horrible shits that can't even be called a loving family, even if they don't start out that way.
Yeah, got to say it definitely looks like complaining.
Axe it all.
In the meantime, this will be suspension #2 for Johnny.
she/her | TRS needs your help! | Contributor of Trope ReportBowserbros posted this under Scrappy Mechanic on Vinesauce:
- Even after the new Booru was put in place, that still didn't stop it from having one noticeable issue when it came to using it: the tagging system. While on the surface it appears to be a fairly cohesive system that organizes posts fairly well, what isn't indicated is that tags on the site are case-sensitive when creating them, and whatever capitalization you use when you first create a tag sticks with all later uses of the tag, even with the capitalization altered. This is an especially big problem because categorical tags for artists, streamers, and games require their prefixes to be written in all-lowercase letters— which means that if you created a new tag for, say, a video game one of the streamers played but wrote "Game:" at the start instead of "game:", this means that it won't actually register as a game tag and will be permanently stuck in the miscellaneous category. This ended up happening to a large amount of games tagged on the site, and because altering the tagging system to fix this would require another ground-up revamp of the site, that means that these titles are permanently trapped in miscellaneous tag purgatory, with these numbers only growing with continued use of capitalized prefixes.
It comes off as excessively long and nitpicky for what seems like an at-best ancilliary function few people will likely notice and probably has no impact on the vast majority of viewers. The user has recurring issues with making entries that are absurdly lengthy relative to the often basic points they are trying to convey, and this could probably be explained in a handful of sentences at most, if that at all.

Wow, I don't think anything that was added to the WMG page has any value at all. All of it is obnoxious complaining. All of it can also go.
I recognize that user. He has made edits to some of the Trivia tropes I monitor/regularly check. Yeah he does make large edits, I'm thinking of taking an entry he edited recently on Genre Turning Point to the Wall of Text cleanup because it's pretty long.
EDIT: Took it there.

TRS Queue | Works That Require Cleanup of Complaining | Troper WallSo, should I zap the post for irrelevancy and being an excuse to complain, or do you think it can be salvaged and reposted to the Wall-of-Text thread for trimming instead?
That's what I get for not checking it. I blame being on mobile.
Well, good; his pages are absurdly bashy.
