Inactive Members

    General
Formerly active members of the Dream SMP who are currently inactive, or in some cases, no longer whitelisted.
  • Chuck Cunningham Syndrome: The one thing that they have in common is that none of them have appeared on the server in months with no in-universe explanation.
    • Despite being one of the 8 original members, after the beginning conflicts of the Disc Saga, Alyssa completely disappeared from the plot and for the rest of Season 1, she mainly played while everyone else was offline, subsequently missing out on most of the plot. By Season 3, Dream himself confirmed that she is not on the SMP anymore, and seemed to not show any signs of planning on adding her back.
    • Both Vikk and Lazar were last seen online in January 2021. This was eventually revealed to be the result of a Bus Crash — according to Dream's lore video in January 2022, he had both of them killed.

    Alyssa
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/itsalyssa_skin.png
In-game name: ItsAlyssa
Preferred name: Alyssa
"I mean, you hate me. But I'd still consider you a friend."
One of the eight original SMP members. She hasn't been seen on the server for some time, and is no longer actively playing.

Alyssa is no longer on the server, so technically, she has no canon lives left. However, if she were to return to the server in the future, she would have three canon lives remaining.
  • Beware the Nice Ones: While generally affable to everyone, it's easy to forget that she too had contributions in server conflicts, including burning Sapnap's house out of revenge for killing her horse and being the first to strike during the 2 vs 2 battle later on by setting Tommy on fire (when he was just standing there) and getting first blood by killing him. She also had no qualms in setting fire to the forest surrounding L'Manberg during their rebellion from the SMP.
  • Femme Fatale: Played for Laughs. She and Dream tried to make use of her former status of being the only girl on the SMP to sway the L'Manberg Rebellion and get them back on their side, which ultimately failed.
  • Nice Girl: Was one of the kinder members of the SMP when she was around, even keeping her mouth shut about where Niki was during the latter's attempts at hiding from Schlatt. She even considered Tommy a friend despite his dislike of her.
  • Pyromaniac: While burning down Sapnap's house may have been out of retribution for her horse, her choices to light Tommy on fire and burn down the L'Manberg trees unprovoked paint her as something to this effect.
  • Sitcom Arch-Nemesis: Tommy's 'anti-simp' nature when it came to women at the time had her be this to him.
  • Small Role, Big Impact: It was her and Ponk's battle against Tommy and Sapnap that lead to Dream getting involved... and eventually taking Tommy's discs, an act that would go on to span seasons-long conflicts.
  • The Smurfette Principle: She was the first woman to join the Dream SMP and thus far the only woman who remains in the Dream SMP faction and has never changed her alignment so far until her departure from the server. This became something of a gag and plot point during the early, revolution-era L'Manberg days as a shot against the country since they had no women (since Niki hadn't joined yet, let alone Puffy, Hannah and Tina) to the Greater SMP's one, causing the country to be named L'Manburg.
  • Those Two Guys: Her appearances on the SMP usually had her with either Ponk or Callahan, both being good friends of hers.

Chat

    General
The audience. Some characters can hear them and address them directly, and they all manifest in different ways across the server. They can't interact with the world directly, but their influence is felt all throughout the server.
  • Audience Participation: Characters will occasionally ask their chat for input, or tell them off if they're getting a bit too rowdy.
  • Crowd Chant: Chatters are notoriously unwilling to take turns speaking, and often just shout over each other. However, if they hear something they really want the character to hear, they all start shouting in unison. Most notably, Techno's chat screams "BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD" whenever someone appears to threaten Techno or anyone he cares about.
  • Depending on the Writer: The chats are the in-universe manifestation of up to hundreds of thousands of individuals at once, so their characterization can be highly inconsistent. Even then, the chats in general may act differently depending on the perspective they are viewing.
  • Informed Ability: Canonically, they can take on many forms, from crows, to floating particles, to voices in someone's head. However, due to the technical limitations of Minecraft, this does not carry over into the actual game in most cases, with Fundy and Michael's chats being the main exceptions.
  • Studio Audience: A variant. While the audience isn't physically present and communicates through text instead of through audio, they're treated as if they're speaking out loud. Other than that, they fulfill pretty much the same role.

    Aimsey's chat
Aimsey's chat is an old walkie-talkie. They cannot always understand what the walkie talkie says.

    Alesa
"NOT LICE FUCK NO"
Michaelmcchill's chat takes the form of his mascot Alesa, who he carries around in his backpack.

    Boomer's Hat
Boomer's chat is part of his hat's conscience. Information on his hat can be found on Dream SMP: Neutrals.

    Eret's chat
Eret's chat manifests as a large business of ferrets that follows them around.
  • Big Brother Instinct: Like most chats, the ferrets are quite protective of Eret and wary of his safety, e.g. squeaking at him to run in response to Quackity's little romantic escapade just after the L'Manburg Elections.Context
  • Rhymes on a Dime: Upon canonizing them, Eret referred to them as "Eret's Ferrets".
  • Weasel Mascot: Technically ferrets, but still mustelids nonetheless.

    Foolish's chat
"Hup, 2, 3, 4!"
Foolish's chat manifests as "Doozers" from Fraggle Rock who help with his builds. They often encourage him by chanting "Hup, 2, 3, 4!"

    Fundy's chat
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/fundy_chat.png
"FURRY"
"THIS IS NOT HOW MENTAL HEALTH WORKS YOU TRAUMATIZED LIL FOX MAN"
Fundy's chat manifests as a swarm of miniature clay figures that only he can see.

    Jack's chat
Jack's chat manifests as voices coming in through his headset.
  • Hearing Voices: In a less traditional sense of the trope, Jack's Twitch chat is represented by voices and snippets of conversation that occasionally come through his headset.
  • The Omniscient: Implied, as the voices in Jack's headset occasionally spit out messages and bits of information he wouldn't otherwise have knownnote , causing him to think that the headset is both strange and important to him.

    Niki's chat
"NIKI RUN"
Niki's chat manifests as writing in her journal, and occasionally voices in her head like Techno.
  • Big "NO!": One of their most common reactions to several lore developments, such as Tubbo's execution and the resulting massacre, as well as Karl's decision to join Manburg.
  • Hearing Voices: They occasionally manifest this way for Niki, though usually they stick to being words in her journal.

    Phil's chat
"CAW CAW"
Phil's chat manifests as a murder of crows that follows him around. Phil regularly talks to them when he's alone.
  • Clever Crows: They're a murder of highly intelligent crows, all capable of speech.
  • Crowd Chant: Although not as much as Techno's, they still do have some, such as "CAW CAW", and "Killza" on November 16th.
  • Thieving Magpie: Kind of. The bits that the chat donate to Phil are represented in-universe by trinkets which the crows bring him, though it is not confirmed where the crows get the trinkets from.
  • Translator Buddy: Phil is the only one who can understand them, and relays their messages when needed.

    Ponk's chat
Ponk's chat are represented by little lemons with arms and legs.

    Ranboo's chat
"STOP STEALING THE GENDER"
Ranboo's chat manifests as a blend between the purple particles that surround Endermen and creatures resembling the soot spirits from Spirited Away.
  • Big Brother Instinct: They don't like Ranboo's experiments, as they're worried he might get hurt. They're generally very protective of him.
  • A Day in the Limelight: They have been mentioned in the past, but had a major focus during Ranboo's May 22 lore. He's also occasionally done dedicated sessions where he answers their questions.
  • Deadpan Snarker: They are very prone to mocking the situation at hand, no matter how serious it is. As exemplified in one of the donations Ranboo received about the Crimson:
millie: figuring out I was gay was easier than understanding wtf that egg is saying
  • The Gadfly: More than once, they've urged Ranboo to do ridiculous or silly things, like licking an end portal frame or bringing them to McPuffy's. He rarely listens.
  • Shout-Out: To Spirited Away in terms of their appearance.
  • Translator Buddy: A strange variant, though they've been with Ranboo and trying to speak with him since the beginning, Ranboo couldn't understand them before the experiments he conducted on himself, as they only spoke Enderspeak.

    Sam's chat
"GIRLBOSS"
Sam's chat manifests as the glyphs that float near enchantment tables.
  • Mass "Oh, Crap!": Near the end of the 4 February 2022 imprisonment stream, the chat's collective reaction to the twist ending was pretty much this.

    Seapeekay's chat
Seapeekay's chat appears as wisps, which call themselves "dirt" or "dirt wisps".

    Techno's chat
Techno's stream chat manifests as voices in his head. He largely ignores them... unless they demand blood. For more information about them, see Techno's character page.

    Tommy's chat
Tommy's stream chat takes the form of a Nokia 3310 mobile phone located in his pants pocket. The phone buzzes every time he gets a sub. For more information about them, see Tommy's character page.

    Tubbo's chat
"Sadge"
Tubbo's chat manifests as ducks and bugs, most likely bees, in a pond.
  • Affectionate Nickname: Tubbo has nicknamed his chat "Tubblings".
  • Portmanteau: Their nickname, "Tubblings", is a mixture between 'Tubbo' and 'ducklings', as most of the emotes in Tubbo's stream chat are based around Benson the duck.

Other Entities

    The Crimson/The Egg
See this page for more details about this entity.

    Sally the Salmon
A female salmon that was allegedly the former wife/mistress of Wilbur and the mother of Fundy.
  • Color Motif: Her favourite colour was brown, according to Ghostbur.
  • Comically Cross-Eyed: According to Fundy, Sally is cross-eyed, which is somewhat understandable because she is, you know, a fish.
  • The Ghost: She never appears onscreen. It's justified because Sally is stated to be Fundy's Missing Mom and may be deceased.
  • Hot Skitty-on-Wailord Action: How Fundy was conceived between Wilbur, a presumed human, and Sally, a salmon, is never explained. It Makes Just as Much Sense in Context, and this is even lampshaded by Ranboo before he joined the SMP, saying that if he got elected as President of L'Manburg, one of the things he would do was finding Sally and figuring out "how the heck THAT happened".
  • Interspecies Romance: If you can call her... relationship with Wilbur... that.
  • Makes Just as Much Sense in Context: Everything about her qualifies as "cursed" content — how she had a job like a human, how she had a relationship with Wilbur and how they had a child together... the list goes on.
  • Uncertain Doom: Whether she is alive or dead isn't confirmed, though it's often assumed she was either misplaced or eaten by Wilbur.
  • Voluntary Shapeshifting: Canonically defied at first, as Wilbur explicitly confirmed that Sally was an actual fish and couldn't shapeshift. Despite this, many fans seem to believe otherwise, because the canonical implications are... yeah. However, because of fan reception, Wilbur has become more and more open to the idea of Sally being a shapeshifter since then.

    Dreamons
Dreamons are demon-like entities with the ability to possess players on the server. They're currently being investigated by the Dreamon Hunters, a team consisting of Tubbo, Fundy and Sapnap.
  • Alternate Identity Amnesia: The Hosts of Dreamons, or at least transmuted Dreamons, do not remember anything that happens while they are possessed.
  • Alternate Self: Dreamons are reportedly the evil demon alter egos of players.
  • Color Motif: They are described to be green in colour.
  • Demonic Possession: They can do this to their Hosts.
  • Green and Mean: Dreamons are described to be green in colour and are the evil alternate selves of their Hosts.
  • Our Demons Are Different: Dreamons are able to take on Hosts to do their bidding, but have a variety of weaknesses. Transmuted Dreamons are a rare variation where the Host and the Dreamon constantly and rapidly shift between each other.
  • Power Floats: While under possession, Dream is able to float into the air.
  • Put on a Bus: Although they get referenced occasionally, Dreamons have not made a reappearance since they started being investigated by the Dreamon Hunters.
  • Weaksauce Weakness: Exploited Trope. The Dreamon Hunters use the items and colours that Dreamons apparently fear or are weak to, in order to exorcise them from their Hosts and/or prevent being detected and killed by them. These include:
    • The colour brown.
    • Encrypted messages, which Dreamons cannot read. Example
    • Farmland, which is used to make protective circles and ritual land to prevent possession. Dreamons cannot cross farmland because "they don't hoe".
    • Gold armour and weapons, presumably, which Tubbo and Fundy used while exorcising Dream.note
    • Iron doors, which they cannot stand being trapped by for more than 10 seconds.

    Lore Man and Lore Woman
Played by: Wilbur Soot (Lore Man) and Nihachu (Lore Woman)
Lore Man and Lore Woman are the parents of GeorgeNotFound. They come from a long line of lore makers, and are disappointed in George for not having any lore of his own.
  • Asleep for Days: Lore Man's sword was enchanted to invoke this on anyone that it struck.
  • Calling the Young Man Out: Lore Man calls George out for not being involved in the plot, i.e. "lore", of the server and living up to his family name.
  • Expy: Both Lore Man and Lore Woman's skins are near identical to George's, with the same type of shirt and glasses as him.
  • Killed Off for Real: Lore Man dies to the sword of his own son.
  • Luke, I Am Your Father: After years of scuffling with each other, Lore Man reveals himself and Lore Woman as George's true parents.
  • One-Shot Character: They only appear during George's Mind Screw lucid dream.
  • Patricide: On his last canon life, Lore Man tells George to kill him in order to finally have some lore.

    Eryn's Parents
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/erynparents.png
Eryn's parents were an interspecies couple that met in the Nether and moved to the Overworld.
  • Battle Couple: The two are seen fighting alongside each other in the Nether against Piglins that were attacking them.
  • Cute Monster Girl: Eryn's mother is a Demon from the Nether, and looks somewhat human but with pinkish red skin, horns, and a tail.
  • Flowers of Romance: After leaving the Nether, the Demon picks a poppy and gifts it the the human, who happily accepts her gift.
  • Interspecies Romance: Eryn's father was a human, while his mother was a Demon, and they were seen meeting and falling in love in the first flashback sequence in the lore stream "The Origins of Eryn".
  • Killed Off for Real: Implied as when their son, Eryn, returns to the village where they presumably lived, the place was on fire and overrun with (Zombified) Piglins, implying that neither of them survived the attack. However, in a Q&A session with Eryn the content creator a couple of days after the lore stream where they were introduced, their fate is confirmed to be Uncertain Doom.
  • Strong Family Resemblance: Eryn inherited many of his father's features.
  • Unnamed Parent: Neither of them are named.
  • The Voiceless: Neither of them are shown to be speaking in the lore stream of their introduction.

    "Her"
A mysterious, otherworldly figure. She grew the enchanted forest around the Syndicate's main base, and seems to have some kind of prior relationship with Philza.
  • Green Thumb: Judging by her ability to create an enchanted forest in the tundra, it can be inferred that she has powers over plant life, at the very least.
  • No Name Given: Her name is not currently known.
  • Our Gods Are Different: She's assumed to be some kind of goddess, considering how she made a forest grow instantly.
  • Who's on First?: Ranboo doesn't quite understand how pronouns work, so when Phil mentioned a "her", Ranboo assumed he was talking about someone named "Her".

    "Z"
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/z2381591926_9.png
"It's been a while. Let's check back in, shall we?"
"Might as well introduce myself. My name is ████████ but you can just call me Z for now."
A mysterious individual that communicates solely through a Twitter account. They are the current focus of an Alternate Reality Game revolving around the Enderwalk.
  • Ambiguous Gender: Although assumed to be male, their gender is currently unknown at this time.
  • Hellish Pupils: The Eye of Ender they use as their icon.
  • Mysterious Watcher: Their tweets indicate they've been observing Ranboo for some time.
  • Obstructive Code of Conduct: While Wilbur and Ranboo were causing chaos in Las Nevadas, they tweeted again in a panicked tone before clarifying they can't intervene in what's happening.
    Z: uh oh.
    Z: He wasnt supposed to
    Z: He usually doesnt
    Z: Thats not good.
  • Only Known by Their Nickname: While they have formally introduced themselves with their name, it was redacted, leaving only the nickname 'Z'.
  • What Is Going On?: After Ranboo's death, they tweeted again wondering what became of Ranboo's first two canon lives.
Z: You had more... what happened?

Guests (Visitors)

Whitelisted Visitors

    Ninja
In-game name: NinjDivorcedGorge (formerly NinjaSimpsDream)
Preferred name: Ninja
Ninja was invited by and toured the server with Tommy. He is a citizen of L'Manberg and is married to George.
  • Casual Kink: After respawning at the world spawn (from dying of fall damage), Ninja comes across Dream and follows him around, all while Dream was slapping him with a steak. Ninja eventually claimed that "it felt so good" and started moaning, while Tommy looked very uncomfortable trying to locate his lost buddy.
  • Citizenship Marriage: A variant. Tommy negotiates a deal for a marriage between Ninja and George in exchange for prolonging his own Visa to Manburg.
  • Cloudcuckoolander: Ninja moved and behaved in odd manners (such as physically nodding in-game for agreement), forcing Tommy to play the Straight Man.
  • In-Series Nickname: Tommy nicknamed him "Blev", after his real-life surname. Tubbo also called him this once.
  • Know-Nothing Know-It-All: He claims to Tommy that he has far greater knowledge of many things of the SMP (such as Tubbo, Dream, and Tommy's Prime Tower) than he actually has, evident when he can't bring himself to say something that he knows of Tommy's Prime Tower when asked by Tommy.

    Andrea Botez
In-game name: GMANDREABOTEZ (formerly IWILLFINDGEORGE)
Preferred name: Andrea
Andrea was briefly let onto the server to confirm George made a sign that said 'I ♡ ANDREA' after losing to her in chess, but made a reappearance to go on a date with Jack after he won her Love or Host.
  • Small Role, Big Impact:
    • Her reappearance on the server is what ends up pushing Ponk to join the Eggpire, due to Sam flirting with her during her date with Jack.
    • On a smaller scale, the sign she had George make for her has since morphed into the iconic 'YOU </3 LITTLE PENIS' sign that could be seen on the server (until Tommy detonated it), and was why the now-defunct country Little Penis Land was named.

    MrBeast
In-game name: mrbeastgaming1
Preferred name: MrBeast
MrBeast was the host for the $10,000 Taco Bell gift card and $100,000 gift card Scavenger Hunts on the SMP. The first event was won by Eret, and the second event was won by Tubbo.
  • 420, Blaze It/LOL, 69: The coordinates for the Taco Bell gift card were X6969, Y60note , Z420.
  • Full-Body Disguise: He technically never logged onto the server in the first event. Dream posed as him using his skin, and hid the treasure following MrBeast's instructions. In the second event, however, he appeared in person.
  • Uncle Pennybags: He is known for this both in real life and in the SMP, gifting vast sums of money for various challenges.
  • Wham Shot: His actual physical appearance in the second event came as a shock to many players and viewers alike.

    Pokimane
In-game name: pokiman3
Preferred name: Pokimane
Pokimane was invited by Tommy to join after they teamed up in Minecraft Championship 10, but only finally visited the server at Karl's request in December 13th 2020. Since then, she has visited the server again and is currently a citizen of Kinoko Kingdom. Party Island, Party Park and the Pokimane War Bunker were all built in anticipation for her arrival on the SMP.
  • Cuteness Proximity: During her first visit and subsequent tour of the SMP, she fawns over the Pizza Llama in Hutt's Pizza and the pink carpet-saddle it was equipped with, and coos over the chickens in Karl's farm, among other things.
  • The Gadfly: She considered hitting a zombie piglin (even if they would attack her if she provoked them) for fun. Karl manages to talk her out of it.

    Corpse Husband
In-game name: CORPSE_CATTT
Preferred name: Corpse
Corpse was given a tour of the server on December 15th, 2020, and joined El Rapids and judged a singing competition between several server members during that time. He has since returned for MrBeast's $100,000 gift card challenge and Lil Nas X's tour of the SMP. He's also a recurring actor in Tales From the SMP.
  • Cat Folk: His skin is a anthropomorphic sphinx cat (based off of a viral Internet cat named "Bingus") wearing a Hooters employee uniform.
  • Recurring Extra: Corpse is the most frequent guest player on the server, appearing in several events and even taking part in the Tales side stories.

    KSI
In-game name: BlackBananaMan
Preferred name: KSI
"AYO, WHAT THE FUCK?!"
KSI was invited by Quackity to host a sex-ed class on the server. He later returns to the server for another visit.
  • Cloudcuckoolander: When Tommy asked him why he made a song about a Lamborghini, KSI claimed that it was because he had a Teeny Weenie and thought that talking about fancy cars would make girls like him more.
  • Cool and Unusual Punishment: He punishes the students who do "badly" in his sex-ed class using very strange methods, including being teleported into space or turned into a chicken to give a practical demonstration of "sexual education" (yes, really). Four of the students have gotten killed as a result of KSI's punishments.
  • Politically Incorrect Hero: Played for Laughs. While whether he's a hero or not is undetermined, he claims to hate colourblind people and gives George a -1/10 because he didn't colour his picture of KSI's face in due to his colourblindness.
  • Sadist Teacher: Played for Laughs. KSI's teaching is comically stern towards students in his class and orders those who did poorly in his class to be punished in unorthodox means.
  • Screams Like a Little Girl: Whenever he gets attacked by a mob, his screaming is... incredibly high-pitched.
  • Screw This, I'm Outta Here: When he goes through the nether portal to "Hell" out of curiosity (with Quackity following), he encounters a magma cube waiting on the other side. He responds by screaming, leaving Quackity to kill the mob, and leaving the dimension.
  • Sir Swears-a-Lot: Even moreso than Tommy. This becomes subverted during his second visit, where BadBoyHalo rubs off on him after they started getting along. It takes Dream bribing him a thousand dollars to get him to swear again.
  • Too Dumb to Live: After Bad knocks him into lava for swearing, Dream teleports him back to safety, only for KSI to jump off into the lava again. Dream teleports him back a second time, but he jumps into the lava again.

    Lil Nas X
In-game name: OfficialLilNasX
Lil Nas X was invited by Karl to tour around the server and build a treehouse.
  • Black Comedy Animal Cruelty: While visiting Hutt's Pizza, he considers punching Pizza Llama for little to no reason, then says that he wants to kill Hutt the fish after diving into his tank. Both instances were vehemently objected by his tour guides.
  • Celebrity Star: Yes, he is the singer from Old Town Road.
  • Famed In-Story: During Lil Nas X's visit, several people on the SMP referenced his songs "Old Town Road" and "Montero", and told him through the in-game chat they were fans of his music.
  • Naïve Newcomer: He's new to Minecraft overall and is taught about the game during his visit.
  • Red and Black and Evil All Over: Unlike some other examples on the server, Lil Nas X is an aversion. Though he wears a red shirt and black pants, he's a neutral visitor to the SMP.

Proxy Visitors

    Vurb, Spifey and Zelk
JustVurb is a visitor who logged onto the server once through Skeppy's account. Spifey and Zelk joined him in a voice call and gave him commands on what to do on the server.
  • Troll: During his brief appearance on the server, Vurb stole several items and griefed Sapnap's house.

    Iskall
Iskall85 was a voice-call visitor to the Dream SMP. During his visit, he instructed Fundy on building a redstone door for his bunker while being trolled.
  • Gadgeteer Genius: Fundy specifically enlisted his help due to his redstone expertise.
  • I Call It "Vera": Fundy named the door after Iskall himself, holding the title of "The Iskall Door".
  • The Voice: He has only been heard.

    Drista
For more information about this character, see here.

    Lani
Tubbo's younger sister, who briefly played on the server (on Tubbo's account) as a visitor.
  • Drugs Are Bad: When Quackity tries to sell her drugs, she tells Quackity that drugs are bad and that it's against the law. Not that he cares.
  • Friend to Bugs: She loves bees.
Lani: Oh, I love bees, they're really cute. Where, where?
  • Portmanteau: "Tubbling", a mix between the words "Tubbo" and "sibling". However, this nickname was later co-opted to refer to members of Tubbo's stream chat.
  • Shared Family Quirks: Lani likes bees, just like her brother, Tubbo.

    Sean Jacobs
Karl's younger brother, who briefly played on the server (on Karl's account) as a visitor.
  • Griefer: Sean defaced George's house with TNT and proceeded to build another house on top of it.
  • Odd Name Out: Sean is currently the only one who doesn't have a sibling-themed nickname.

    Skepina
Skeppy's assistant, who briefly played on the server (on Skeppy's account) as a visitor.
  • Portmanteau: "Steppy", a mix between the words "sister" and "Skeppy", since Lya was pretending to be Skeppy's sister at the time. Her other nickname, "Skepina", is a mix between the word "Skeppy" and her real name "Lya".

    Scott Smajor
Tubbo's friend, who joined a voice call to talk about Minecraft Championship. In-universe, he makes a voice-only appearance in Aimsey's character finale as a florist.
  • The Voice: In both canon and non-canon apperances, only his voice can be heard.
