Inspired by this thread, I've noticed that this wiki doesn't have a dedicated cleanup thread for negativity.
As we all know, Complaining About Shows You Don't Like, Creator Bashing and other negativity isn't desired on the wiki, except in a few selected areas like reviews and several Darth Wiki pages (and even then, with limitations). And yet, it's one of the most common sins wiki contributors can make.
So, if you find a page, TLP or discussion whose content seems like a straight-up insult or any other bitching - including complainy soapboxing -, you might ask here for help with removing said content.
The sandbox for this project is located at Works That Require Cleanup of Complaining.

Characters.Tangled Main Characters has this about Rapunzel:
- Hypocrite:
- In "Pascal's Story", she goes to great lengths to ensure that a missing Pascal is found, to the point of shutting down everything else (yelling at Cassandra when she suggests calling off the search in favor of royal duties) and offering a trillion dollars for whoever returns him to her. She has absolutely no such protectiveness over Varian, whom she watched get thrown out into a deadly magical blizzard that required massive evacuation, and never bothered to check on him/organize a search party afterward. To further rub salt into the wound, she expresses disturbing Lack of Empathy for what he and his father have been through, to the point of only caring about what he can provide for Corona. And then, in Season 3, she relentlessly refuses to give up on Cassandra even after Cassandra tried to murder her in cold blood numerous times, despite having done exactly that with Varian after he merely tricked her into helping him steal the Sundrop Flower so he can save his father.
- In "The Eye of Pincosta", she expresses her belief that there is good in everybody to Stalyan and her hope she will make the right decision in the end, despite having never attempted to get through to Lady Caine.
- In "Plus Est en Vous", she tries to force a nickname on Eugene despite his protests and unwillingness for her to do so, even though his arguing with Cassandra from "Cassandra v. Eugene" caused her to lock the both of them in a dungeon cell to make them get along when their arguing bothered her.
- When Pascal disappears, Rapunzel does routine stuff she can postpone without hurting anyone; when Varian comes asking for her help - demanding she should drop everything and run to help his father - she's in charge of a kingdom in a crisis, what's with a deadly magical blizzard that requires mass evacuation. And she feels crushing guilt about abandoning a friend in need nonetheless.
- When Rapunzel sees Varian's father Taken for Granite, she is shocked and extremely upset, and blames herself for it. Later, when they meet, the first thing she tells Varian is that she's sorry about it. Is this what we call Lack of Empathy?
- I myself think that Rapunzel forgives way too much of Cassandra's transgressions in Season 3 but... Sarcasm Mode on: Rapunzel is a terrible, terrible person for not being a Love Martyr towards Varian. To further rub salt into the wound, she dares to retaliate when he merely deceives her to steal the thing she needs to save her kingdom and then, merely tries to murder Rapunzel's mother and Rapunzel's best friend, who've done nothing bad to him. Going From Bad to Worse, after he owns up to his mistakes and pulls a Heel–Face Turn, Rapunzel forgives him immediately and completely. She's evil. Sarcasm Mode off.
- The bit where she doesn't "check on him/organize a search party afterward" is true. I myself think it's out of character for Rapunzel because she cares about Varian but, IIRC, this issue is never acknowledged in the series itself, so... what do we do about it?
The second bullet is iffy. If a hero doesn't redeem every villain in their story, does this make the hero a hypocrite?
The third bullet is like, Rapunzel throws people in her dungeon if they bother her and has her way with people despite their protests! No. Rapunzel teases Eugene who's unimpressed with the nicknames not being snappy enough; she's not hurting his feelings. This is not the same as Eugene and Cassandra being bitter Headbutting Heroes, and Rapunzel locks them up and bakes them cookies with clues to get out but only if they work together.
If she's not meant to be a hypocrite in-story then it's not an example anyway and you can cut.

I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.I hate to bring this up again, but can I get an okay for cutting the entries I mentioned in my Origami King YMMV review?
"Unite GUN/BAZOOKA/LAUNCHER/TANK!"Can you link your post, please? It'd make it easier for people to see it.

I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.Sorry to double post but I just noticed this on ScareEmStraight.Advertising. I hate PETA too, but the complaining takes up most of the example and doesn't actually explain the trope that well.
- Without a doubt, this is one of the most favored tactics of PETA (and other animal rights groups to a degree), who resorts to using graphic images of animals being killed, accusing young children's mothers of killing animals, and repeating harsh (and debatable) warnings that eating meat will cause all manner of health problems in order to frighten the naive and squeamish. The veracity of their claims is often doubtful, as many of the videos and pictures they show portray uncommon and/or outdated practices (many people involved in animal agriculture are quite shocked at the inaccuracy and exaggeration in the materials), and many of their "scientific" claims (such as the claim that humans are "natural herbivores") are based on very outdated, flawed, biased, or just plain discredited research.
- One hilariously ineffective billboard put up by PETA showed a picture of a child eating a hamburger with every visible sign of enjoyment, that still expected us to believe it when it told us that feeding children meat was child abuse.
- Some even more ridiculous ads showed naked humans being subject to the "torture" animals are put through.
- These things are what make some vegetarians cringe and say "Don't Shoot the Message".
I'm confident that's a valid example, as PETA is infamous for using gore in their commercials, but most of that is just complaining about animal rights groups. It can be signifigantly trimmed.
Not to mention it's super nattery, using an entire subbullet for a single sentence.
(Don't) take me home.Uhhhh, anyone gonna respond?

Found on Long-Lost Uncle Aesop:
- Likewise, in another famed two-parter, Alex spends 40 minutes grieving over the sudden death of his close special friend... Whatshisname. Seriously, we'd never heard of him before, or ever would again. To a lesser extent, Season 3 featured brief appearances by "James" with the writers going to great lengths to try and convince the audience that he has been Alex's best friend/rival since childhood.
I'm sure there's a legit example here, this is just written in a very complain-y way. I've only watched parts of this show (Family Ties for reference), so...maybe someone who has watched these episodes can do a rewrite?
TRS Queue | Works That Require Cleanup of Complaining | Troper WallAnd did he learn an aesop from his long-lost friend?
Rock'n'roll never dies!I don't know, haven't seen much of the series and at least the first one doesn't even say which episode it is. A quick look on Wikipedia for the second indicates that the "James" character appeared in an episode involving a suicide hotline, so I am going to assume there's an anti-suicide message. If so, the second example can stay and be rewritten. Not seeing much with the first example, since it does not describe the person or name the episode. Maybe cut the first and rewrite the second once I get a chance to watch the episode?
EDIT: Skimmed through the episode on Amazon. There appears to be an anti-suicide aesop, so maybe I'll rewrite the example to mention that. The first I'll cut. OK?

TRS Queue | Works That Require Cleanup of Complaining | Troper WallThe first episode appears to be "A, My Name is Alex", from what I can find
(Never seen the episode either...)
OK I looked up that episode. There appears to be an aesop? It seems to be dealing with the idea of survivor's guilt and has a message about moving on from death, so I guess we can keep it, but rewrite.
TRS Queue | Works That Require Cleanup of Complaining | Troper WallFrom Demonization, discussing Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (2019):
- Additionally, Russians are not only shown to be pure evil, but laughably incompetent. The only successes the Russians have in the story are against completely helpless civilians and children. This is seen most strikingly on a mission where the Russian army is defeated by a group of starving, abused teenage girls with zero combat training. We see this again at the end: in most Call of Duty games the campaign ends with a climatic struggle against an antagonist who is usually able to put up a fight and often expresses some reluctant respect for the protagonist. In Modern Warfare, Farah sneaks up behind the evil Russian general, stabs him, he grabs her and struggles with her a bit, she grabs the knife and stabs him some more while he pathetically begs and pleads for his life. This portrayal would have led to the developers being absolutely eviscerated by critics had it been applied to a more politically-sensitive group, but Russians are apparently very much acceptable targets.
Is the part I've bolded really necessary?
Nope. Shoot it.

Don't worry though. There won't be any musical numbers, no creepy veterinarians, no Lickboot, no plot ripping off The Rescuers, and most of all, Tom and Jerry will not talk this time around.
