Alright, so in TRS Badass Gay came up for discussion and it was agreed that there appears to big problem with the Badass X tropes in general, which needs to be sorted out until something can be ruled on for Badass Gay.

Noted Problems include:
- Tropes are just listings of characters people thing are badass who happen to have a certain trait. (The Badass + Trait Problem)
- Badass X as a naming scheme is actually very vague and doesn't give a lot of insight into what the character trope actually is, assuming it is a trope.
- Badass X as a naming scheme proliferates the use of Badass + Trait 'tropes'.
Suggested things to do include:
- Make it a requirement that a badass character trope means a character is "badass because of a trait", or "badass in spite of a trait".
- Renaming away from the Badass X naming scheme as much as possible.
- Cut, redefine or re-purpose things that are just Badass + trait.
There are also a lot of tropes that seem to be valid character-types, but have the naming scheme 'Badass X', when there's more to the trope than that. There are also a lot of prop or event or whatever tropes that need to be gone through as well.

Either way, I think we're all saying the elements of Badass Gay are largely covered by pre-existing, better-defined tropes, correct?

Sometimes thats a mod problem to resolve.
Sidenote i really like the Noteworthy =/= Tropeworthy discussion happening in Bi The Way. I feel like similar sentiment carries over into this thread. Where one sometimes "Badass X" decays into "Noteworthy X" that's not "Tropeworthy X."
i feel like we're all pretty much already in agreement on that point in this thread, but just thought i'd mention it. It's probably something the wiki as a whole needs to come to terms with across a variety of clean up threads and new TLP.

Do we have a page somewhere that lists all the Badass tropes that need to be covered, the tropes that have already been dealt with, and the decision that was made for those completed badass tropes? Something like:
- Badass A: No longer being troped; Remove all examples
- Badass B: No longer being troped; move to Trope X, Trope Y or Trope Z; if not applicable to alternative tropes, remove.
- Badass C: Keep trope; continue troping normally.
When I encounter people troping the Badass tropes, I'm struggling to remember if it's a trope that's already been dealt with and what the decision was. I'm therefore never quite sure if the trope needs to be removed (de-wicked), moved to a different trope or is acceptable and can therefore be left alone.
A sandbox page with a list would be really helpful.

It's good that we are back on Badass Gay, because over the months, I've been fuming over tropers who nonchalantly add overly simplistic entries of "[Character] does badass things and has eyes for the same sex" with some nonsensical edit reason like "just gals being gals".
To me, Badass Gay would be a trope if and only if the work's setting does marginalize homosexuals as weak, then a character comes along to prove that wrong; however, we'd have to change the trope's name to better suit the description. As it currently stands, people on this wiki add entries like they were chairs. Not just newbies, but veteran tropers are also guilty of this.

Recap.Fairy Tail Alvarez Empire Arc still has a ghost wick to Badass Grandpa, despite multiple attempts to remove it from myself and ~Ricardo Renegado

I fixed it.
The issue was that the wick to Badass Grandpa was on Recap.Fairy Tail Albareth Empire Arc which is a redirect for Fairy Tail Alvarez Empire Arc.
For some strange reason, the person who redirected the Albareth page did not remove the original text when they redirected it to Fairy Tail Alvarez Empire Arc

Badass Grandpa cleaning update.
There are only 70 wicks left, most are in the Pantheon.
Most of the sandbox wicks are also Pantheon related.
What do we do with Nl.Coole Opa? It's Badass Grandpa translated into a different language.

Guys, I had to restore a Badass Grandpa wick in ImageSource/AnimeAndManga since Badass Grandpa still has an image.
This wick should not disappear until the image that exists in Badass Grandpa can be removed in the Image Pickin' forum.

I don't think the image needs to be removed just because it's a disambiguation. Indexes have images, after all. The subpages can stay too.
The example on Example Indentation in Trope Lists should be replaced with another badass trope. I think we should use Handicapped Badass, which has been used as an example of a badass trope that we're keeping since it's a meaningful distinction.

Orrrr we could replace it with something like Elemental Powers which people discussed here at some point. It's also been pointed out that the page has context issues and can be misleading, so that's also been under discussion.

I changed Badass Grandpa's page type from a trope to a disambiguation, but should it still do indexing?

Butch lesbians being badass would be covered by Real Women Don't Wear Dresses and Lesbian Jock; Lipstick Lesbians being badass would be Silk Hiding Steel or Vasquez Always Dies. Although as it is, Badass Gay seems orientednote towards gay men so I'm not sure we need to worry too much about other orientations.
