Everybody Edits: Project M, also known as Everybody Edits Offline: Project Modification or Project M is a Game Mod for Everybody Edits Flash by Minimania, first released in 2020. It adds many new smileys and blocks by Minimania as well as many other players. The mod also tweaks existing tiles to avoid using copyrighted assets.

While it's not official, its contributions from many members of the Everybody Edits Staff—both past and present—makes it a Staff-Created Fan Work.

Not related to Project M, a mod of Super Smash Bros. Brawl.

This mod provides examples of:

  • Brown Bag Mask: The Paper Bag smileys appear to be covered with large grocery bags, but they still have faces. In addition to the usual brown, it also comes in white.
  • Cactus Person: The Cactus smiley and NPC appears as a cactus with a face and a flower on top.
  • Creepy Crows: In addition to a normal crow, the Crow smileys also come in Pestilence and Nevermore variants, with Green and Red eyes respectively.
  • Ghost Town: The Ghost Town packs comes with dusty brown building blocks, saloon doors, and a tumbleweed. Overall, it brings to mind an abandoned town in The Wild West.
  • Grimy Water: There's a dirty water block that causes poison, which will kill within seconds if not cured.
  • Happy Harlequin Hat: The Jester smiley has a grin and a multicolored hat with bells hanging on it.
  • Heart Symbol: The Project M Fan and Superfan smileys have hats that read "I ♥ M" and "I ♥ EE" respectively.
  • Hornet Hole: The existence of a Beehive pack suggests it's meant to be used to build bee nests, with orange hexagon tiling, and decorative honey. There's also liquid honey, which slows down movement similar to mud.
  • Lamprey Mouth: The monstrous Toothy NPC has a circular mouth, with teeth on all sides.
  • Monster Clown: The Zombie Clown smiley appears as a scary, undead clown.
  • Mythology Gag: Many blocks and smileys are references to defunct graphics in Everybody Edits Flash.
    • The New Year 2020 and Chicken Suit smileys appear as old, unused variants of the New Year 2010 and Bird smileys.
    • The Red Clown, Decaying Zombie, and Fake Big Spenders are old variants of smileys from Everybody Edits Flash—the Clown, Zombie, Diamond Touch smileys respectively.
    • The Builder's Club doors and gates are a reference to Everybody Edits Flash's Builders Club. Having a paid membership of Builders Club would toggle the doors and gates, and was later replaced with Gold Membership. Here, Builder's Club is instead activated by an effect block.
    • The Symbols decorations are various icons that appear in the interface of online versions of Everybody Edits Flash, or otherwise go unused in the offline versions.
    • One of the Occult decorations is a potion, with morphs that are the various potions available in some versions of Everybody Edits Flash before their removal.
  • Palette Swap: Many of the new smileys are recolors of other smileys.
  • Overly-Nervous Flop Sweat: The Nervous smiley has three visible sweat drops on it.
  • Red Eyes, Take Warning: The ominously named Nevermore Crow comes with red eyes.
  • Red Ones Go Faster: Time doors and gates, which normally come in gray, appear and disappear every five seconds. The red ones are much quicker, switching every two seconds.
  • Shout-Out:
    • The Prismarine blocks are blue and stone-like, similar to Prismarine's appearance in Minecraft.
    • The Nevermore Crow is a reference to the poem "The Raven", which has a raven who says "nevermore".
    • The Imposter smileys are palette swaps of the Astronaut smiley, in colors of the crewmates from Among Us.
    • The Red, Pink, Blue, and Orange Ghost smileys are in the same colors and the same order as the ghosts introduced in Pac-Man. The Green and Grey Ghosts resemble the ghosts introduced in Pac-Mania. The Vulnerable Ghost and Flashing Ghost smileys resemble parts of the vulnerable ghost animation, with the latter being animated and renamed from Ephemeral Ghost as of 1.1.1.
  • Speech Bubbles: Project M adds a sign variant that looks like a speech bubble, which can be read from a further distance. By default, the tile has a visible ellipsis, but variants include an exclamation point, a question mark, and a blank bubble.
  • Steampunk: There are several things referred to as steampunk in Project M:
    • The Steampunk pack includes various metals, pipes, and gears.
    • The Steampunk Robot has a dull brown metal color, and several pipes on top.
    • The Bronze, Silver, and Gold Steampunk smileys come with goggles and a top hat with a gear on it.
  • Technicolor Fire: The fire hazard block, and the Fire Demon smiley now have blue, green, and magenta variants, to match the color options of the torch decoration in Everybody Edits Flash.
  • Voodoo Doll: Referenced with the Voodoo Effect. Dying with it causes other smileys with the effect to die as well.
  • Wingding Eyes:
    • The Lovestruck smileys have heart-shaped eyes in pink, magenta, or red.
    • The Dead smiley appears with X-shaped eyes.
