Awaken prince, and carve a red ruin!

Diluvian Ultra is a retro-style First-Person Shooter developed by Swedish indie company Cresthelm Studios, and a Genre Throwback to 90s gorn-filled FPS games.

Atilla, an immortal, undead warrior-prince and the Player Character, awakens after a millenia when his ship - which he was entombed alive in - was pillaged by treasure hunters. Realizing he's in the middle of a destroyed world infested by assorted monsters, Atilla picks up his blood-sword and fights his way out.


Greetings, warrior!

  • Archaic Weapon for an Advanced Age: The game is set God knows how many milennia into the future, but somehow Atilla's favorite weapon is still his trusty blood-sword.
  • Attack Drone: The non-organic enemies Atilla encounters frequently are small hovering drones equipped with light firearms.
  • Blood Magic: Atilla's blood is used for activating certain pieces of technology, probably because of his undead nature. The very first instance sees him purposely cutting his hand on the blood-sword to extend it's blade, and when reaching closed portals sealed by Waystones he'll need to perform some Palm Bloodletting and splash his blood into their core to activate them.
  • Body Armor as Hit Points: Like every Doom-esque throwback shooter, the game runs on this. The first armour pickup even notes "ARMOUR protects your HEALTH", though there's a limit to how much armour Atilla can collect.
  • Double Jump: An early upgrade allows Atilla to jump twice in mid-air, to reach ledges and platforms otherwise too far for him. It's even called "Double Jump" in-game.
  • Enemy Chatter: Several of the humanoid mooks will announce, "Hostile, hostile!" when attacked, to alert their fellow mooks about Atilla.
  • Equipment Upgrade: One of the functions of the Waystones, if Atilla can afford it. "Press F to Upgrade Weapons" indeed.
  • Facial Horror: Right after the opening FMV, the game shows the player how Atilla looks like, where it turns out his entire face had rotten off and is a skinless mess (oddly, save for his eyes). Somehow he still have the ability of speech.
  • Falling Damage: Atilla risks falling when on ledges or areas with platforming elements. Which damages his health, and if the fall is steep enough, he dies instantly.
  • Flash of Pain: From a first-person view, if Atilla suffers any damage the screen will blink red. Several stronger enemies will also flash red or orange.
  • Justified Save Point: Savepoints in the game are powered by "memory stones", some futuristic technology that records the progress of any warrior who touched them. While boosting their health for good measure.
  • Living Weapon: Several guns Atilla can collect appears to be alive, with fleshy growth and short tentacles all over their exteriors. With a mouth capable of shooting projectiles.
  • My Greatest Failure: Appears to be part of Atillas backstory, as the prince reveals in an early cutscene.
    "They vandalized my home, Bella. But my powers as a Diluvian prince remains intact. The roots beneath the SACRISTA are still alive and well. As long as they remain, I will draw power from the ship and continue to be reincarnated again and again. The first duty of a prince is to protect his people."
  • Planet Spaceship: The game takes place in one, Sacrista. Upon awakening and exploring the place, Atilla initially spends his time travelling through corridors and basements, but later finds an indoor forest and ruins of an abandoned, neo-gothic city.
  • Retractable Weapon: Atilla's trusty blood-sword, when collected for the first time, is merely a hilt. Once Atilla activates it, a powerful, glowing red blade pops out.
