- To The Legend of Zelda:
- Clink is a blond hero in green cloths and the name is just one letter away from Link.
- The first area is a top-view forest where you need to use the sword to remove enemies and bushes.
- The octopus enemies are called Octoracs, close to Octoroks.
- Papunika Village sounds very close to Kakariko Village.
- After some point unlocking chests gives the Item Get! camera.
- You can break pots up Noria Mines, which are also filled with statues of an elven princess. Clink has to fight his shadow Dopple as the boss.
- To Final Fantasy:
- The first overworld combat has similar interface to FF 1-6 combat.
- The currency is called "glis", which is similar to "Gil".
- Hironobu Sakaguchi, creator of the series, is referenced in a book that's presumably in the Village Inn's nightstand, as when examining that furniture in the Enhanced edition:"HowTo: save the World with Heroes Crystal", by H.Sakaguchi: I don't think I will need this.
- Phoenix Down is used as a revival item.
- The healer's default name Kaeris and story role is Aerith's from Final Fantasy VII.
- The first boss is called Kefka's Ghost.
- Clink upgrades his sword to the Claud's Blade which looks like Buster Sword.
- Zephyros's name is a play on Sephiroth, though he doesn't look like him.
- Aogai City is visually inspired by Midgar, including a gag about buying a faster CD-Rom for quicker loading.
- Kaeris's uncle is called Sid, who naturally owns an Airship that looks like Highwind. Yes, you get to ride it to reach a new area.
- Double Twin card game is Final Fantasy VIII's Triple Triad.
- There's a unique enemy Choboko that looks like Chocobo.
- The books:
- One of the books in the inn is "1001 Monsters to kill in one shot by Chuck N.".
- The book from the filled vase at the inn is A.Zephyros's Mein Fight.
- "HowTo: save the World with Heroes Crystals" is written by H.Sakaguchi. Hironobu Sakaguchi was one of the lead directors in Square Enix.
- One of the real books:"The Medium is the Massage", by M.McLuhan. Very fitting.
- S.Miyamoto has apparently written "The ultimate guide to everything".
- "How to Cook an Emuk" (a chicken enemy) by K.F.C.
- E. Schrodinger wrote an Amazon bestseller "Invasion of the undead cats".
- Checking a flower pot in the Shopkeeper's store in the Village gives "All your chest are belong to us".
- One of the locations is called the Noria Mines. The boss of the area also says "You shall not pass!".
- The mushroom enemies are called Zoombas.
- Pakkuns look just like darker versions of Piranha Plants, including the pipes.
- A tutrtle enemy is called A'Tuin.
- Ruins of Sarudnahk section plays like Diablo series and has similar interface. You leave the area through the blue Town Portal.
- The combo kill names are taken from Unreal Tournament.
- One of pickable items is Creeper Defuse Kit with appropriate face.
- The tooltip for time crystal namedrops Marty.
- Zephyros charges a Kamehameha for a few turns.
- Zephyros's final confrontation happens in the Mana Tree, which looks like the Tree of Mana from Mana Series.
- The Babamut dragon is a possible nod to Bahamut Lagoon.
- A merchant claims to be a descendant of Dornako, which is close to Torneko.
- Zephyros's final words have him say that all that he has seen will be "...lost in time, like tears in rain."
- The lady next-door to Sid in Aogai Village states "I used to be an adventurer like you, then I took an arrow in the... let's just say I had trouble sitting for a while."
- In Aogai Village, there is an old man named Garen, who used to be in the Demacian army.
