This episode provides examples of:

  • Attack! Attack... Retreat! Retreat!: When Bugs tells Taz there's an intruder in his house, he convinces Taz to go inside and get him. Taz charges into Bugs' house, then retreats back to his doghouse when he sees the spider.
  • Bait-and-Switch: As Bugs does some research on the spider in his house, what appears to be the spider sneaks up behind him, but it is soon revealed to be Porky wearing a pair of driving gloves.
  • Bearded Baby: In the "Moostache" Merrie Melodies music video, it is revealed that Yosemite Sam had his mustache since he was a baby.
  • Brick Joke: Lola tries to draw Tosh's picture on a reward poster, but ends up drawing Speedy. Near the end of the episode, Sam captures Speedy and demands a reward from Mac and Tosh.
  • Camera Abuse: This episode's end tag has Lola throw a lamp at the camera, breaking the lens. She then says "Sorry, I thought there was a spider on you." to the viewers.
  • Explain, Explain... Oh, Crap!: After Bugs has his house fumigated to kill the spider, a sad Gossamer comes across him, explaining to him that he lost Webster, his pet spider. He tells him that although Webster looks like a deadly African Sand Spider, he's actually harmless. This gets Bugs to realize that the spider he was trying to kill was Webster, and goes into his house to save him. Subverted when Gossamer reveals that he found the real Webster, and the spider Bugs saved was in fact, a deadly African Sand Spider, who bites his hand.
  • Friendly Neighborhood Spider: After several failed attempts to kill the spider, Gossamer later appears looking for Webster, his pet spider, whom Bugs believed was the spider he and his friends were trying to kill. That turned out not to be the case, as Gossamer informs Bugs that Webster is harmless, and the spider that Bugs tried to save was in fact, a deadly African Sand Spider, who bites his hand.
  • Horrifying the Horror: Even Taz is terrified of deadly-venomous spiders, particularly the African Sand Spider.
  • Human Ladder: Bugs and Porky form one to try to attack the spider when it crawls on the ceiling, with Porky on top and Bugs on the bottom.
  • I Am Not Weasel: After Sam captures Speedy and demands a reward from Mac and Tosh (due to Lola having mistaken Speedy for Tosh and drawn him on her reward poster), Speedy tells Sam "I told you, I'm not a gopher!"
  • Immediate Self-Contradiction: When Lola gets a hamster that she tries to pass off as Tosh and shows him to Bugs, she tells him that she's still deciding on a name; either Lieutenant Maximilian Von Lundergartner or Frank. Upon hearing this, Bugs tells her "Well, you can't go wrong with either one, except for that first one."
  • Left the Background Music On: Daffy makes a dramatic statement regarding Tosh's fate to Mac, accompanied by a dramatic organ sting. Daffy and Mac look around to see Lola playing the organ in the corner of the antiques store.
  • Low Count Gag:
    • When Lola comes across a grieving Mac, he tells her that Tosh went to mail a letter, but never came back. Lola asks Mac how long Tosh has been gone, and he tells her "Ten minutes".
    • When Daffy tells Tina about Tosh's disappearance, Tina asks Daffy how long he's been gone, and Daffy tells her "Fifteen." Tina then asks "Days?", and Daffy tells her "Minutes."
  • Modesty Towel: Sam wears one in the "Moostache" Merrie Melodies music video as he is about to shave his mustache. He loses it at the end when he decides not to shave his mustache after all.
  • Mystery Episode: This episode's A-plot has Daffy and Lola help Mac find Tosh when the latter goes missing.
  • Organ Autonomy: In the "Moostache" Merrie Melodies music video, Sam's mustache becomes sentient and starts singing about all the good times they had together to keep him from shaving it.
  • Pest Episode: This episode's B-Plot involves a deadly African Sand Spider running loose in Bugs' house and Bugs trying unsuccessfully to kill it, eventually resorting to calling an exterminator to fugimate his house.
  • Prehensile Hair: In the "Moostache" Merrie Melodies music video, Sam's mustache is able to hug Sam's face in the cold weather, wipe tears from his eyes, shield his face from bugs, and punch Daffy in the face when he laughs at Sam after Tina knocks Sam out.
  • Scenery Censor: At the end of the "Moostache" Merrie Melodies music video, Sam's lower regions are censored by a low-hanging tree branch.
  • Scrabble Babble: While playing Scrabble, Daffy attempts to use "Darvog", before announcing that he is going to the kitchen as he feels totally "Darvog". In a Strange Minds Think Alike moment, we later learn that Lola invented a type of sandwich that she calls a Darvog. And, at the end of the episode, Dr. Weisberg mentions it is the name of an anti-inflammatory preparation.
  • "Shaggy Dog" Story:
    • It turned out that Tosh was in the park the whole time, as he wanted some time to himself. However, he hated every second he was away from Mac, and realized he just wanted to be with him. When Mac asks Tosh why he didn't leave a note telling him, Tosh reveals that he did, on the notepad by the cash register (that Daffy was using to solve the mystery).
    • After Bugs has his house fumigated to kill the spider, Gossamer tells him that he's looking for Webster, his pet spider who looks like a deadly African Sand Spider but is really harmless. Bugs rushes into his house to rescue the spider, only to find out from Gossamer that the spider he caught wasn't Webster, but rather a real deadly African Sand Spider. The real Webster shows up soon afterwards.
  • Shown Their Work:
    • Bugs does some research about the African Sand Spider and finds some disturbing, but accurate facts. Namely, its genus name is Sicarius (meaning "murderer" in Latin) and its venom causing mass bleeding, tissue damage, and organ breakdown.
    • Sand spiders are also known for having six eyes, rather than eight as most spiders have. Sure enough, the one in the episode is portrayed with exactly six eyes, and it is even referred to as the six-eyed sand spider during the aforementioned scene where Bugs does his research.
  • Spiders Are Scary: Bugs is trying to get an especially large African Sand Spider out of his house. Lola reacts by throwing a lamp at it and leaving (Daffy tags along because he doesn't want to go near it either), and even Taz flees as soon as he sees it.
  • Tempting Fate: When Bugs and Porky have the spider cornered, Porky asks Bugs if they have to be so close to it. Bugs tells Porky that the spider isn't going to jump on him, but sure enough, the spider does jump onto Porky's face.
  • Unwanted Rescue: Bugs dashes into his house, which is filled with poisonous gas to rescue what he thinks is Webster, Gossamer's pet spider. However, it turns out not to be Gossamer's pet, but instead a deadly African Sand Spider which bites him in the hand.
