Rayla and Callum reach her village, the Silvergrove, but they're invisible there due to Rayla being exiled for failing the mission. Claudia and Soren interrogate their father about telling Soren to kill the princes. Ezran tries to convince Kasef to a peaceful solution with Xadia. General Amaya is interrogated while being held hostage by the Sunfire elves.

Tropes:

  • The Blank: The entire village of Silvergrove is thus on Callum and Rayla viewpoint, with Rayla explaining it is due to the fact that she is now a pariah when they figured out that while the rest of the assassins are dead, she's still alive.
  • Double-Meaning Title: The episode's title, "Ghost," refers to how Rayla has been banished from her home by being unable to see or interact with anyone (i.e. being made into a ghost). However, the title is also a reference to Runaan, who is on the forefront of Rayla and Ethari's minds, and per his lotus flower, appears to be in a state of limbo (much like a literal ghost would be).
  • Dramatic Irony: Rayla's curse was because they assumed that she deliberately abandoned the others, which we know isn't the case.
  • Gaslighting: Viren thoroughly denies ever telling Soren to kill the princes and tries to manipulate this into being about Soren misinterpreting his words. He uses his Exact Words to clean it of any implication of those words, and when Claudia sides with Viren, he says he is disappointed in his son. Even Claudia is convinced by the end of it, saying that she believes Soren thought that was the case. It is a chilling example of the Golden Child and Scapegoat form of abuse.
  • Hidden Elf Village: Raya's village is concealed to the naked eye.
  • Hope Bringer: Ethari hopes his word of Zym's survival will be enough for the Dragon Queen to continue living.
  • Hope Spot:
    • Ezran reveals to Kasef and his advisors about the Dragon Prince's birth and his half-brother's ongoing mission to return him to the Dragon Queen in the hopes that the elves and dragons will end the war and asks that Kasef do the same. However, Kasef turns down Ezran's proposition, calling him out for being foolish for believing in fairy tales.
    • Rayla believes Ethari will be the only one to can see her, only to find out... he doesn't.
  • Life Meter: The crystals Ethari enchants are this to the assassins, allowing the village to know if they are alive or not. Runaan's is shown underwater but is submerged halfway between the surface and bottom, the light as well is still glowing signifying his current predicament as neither dead nor alive.
  • Magic Dance: Getting into the Silvergrove involves doing one of these to get past the illusion that otherwise conceals the village.
  • The Mirror Shows Your True Self: Reflections can show Rayla and Callum to the people in her village, and the faces of those people to Rayla and Callum.
  • Paper-Thin Disguise: Callum disguises himself as an Earthblood elf with a terrible accent. It doesn't have to fool anyone since he's invisible, but Ethari humors him.
  • Revenge Before Reason: Kasef wants to avenge his kingdom and those around it and asks for Katolis' aid against the elves. When Ezren offers to find peace between humans and elves, it only frustrates Kasef further.
  • Roundabout Shot: When Raya and Callum dance in a circle during their Magic Dance.
  • Tactful Translation: Defiant Captive Amaya signals her captor to shove her sword up her ass which the translator is reluctant to repeat so she translates it the following way:
"...she suggested an unusual way in which your body might accommodate your sword."
  • Tailor-Made Prison: The Sunfire Elves hold Amaya prisoner inside a cycle of fire which she cannot escape from.
  • Trial by Ordeal: Amaya is subjected to the test of light which reveals if she has been corrupted by Dark Magic. She passes to the surprise (and disappointment) of the Sunfire Elf Queen.
  • Understatement: Viren underplays what he did, saying while he was trying to unite the five kingdoms against Xadia, the Royal Council was more concerned he "broke a few rules along the way. " Given that his actions were practically high treason,, the Council does seem to have a point.
  • Un-person: Rayla's curse makes it so that not only can she not see anyone's face, but they can't see or hear her either.
  • Villainous Face Hold: The Sunfire Elf Queen forces the kneeling Amaya to look up to her by pushing her staff under Amaya's chin. The latter responds with a Spiteful Spit.
  • Wham Line: Ethari reveals to Rayla and Callum that the Dragon Queen is dying.
  • You Can't Go Home Again: Being exiled by the Moonshadow elves, Rayla isn't sure whether she'll ever be accepted back home. Ethari is the only one willing to talk with her again, to say goodbye, and even he says he's not sure whether she'll be allowed back.
  • You Have Outlived Your Usefulness: The Sunfire Elf Queen doesn't see any worth in keeping Amaya around and orders her execution. Her sister is able to convince her otherwise.
