Go To

After getting pressured by Cleveland, Cleveland Junior gets a Mexican girlfriend, who ends up being way hotter than Cleveland's wife, Donna, and embarrassing him in front of The Guys.

Tropes:

  • Adolf Hitlarious: Cleveland and Junior watch a Katherine Hiegl movie where she plays a young woman in love ... with a Nazi.
Junior: I loved that movie. All I can say is "Heil Heigl!"
  • Alone Among the Couples: Junior is this in his friend group but Cleveland seems to be the only guy who's bothered by it.
  • Awkward First Sleepover: When Junior moves in with his wife Cecilia, he becomes nervous, and he mentions this is his first time sleeping over with anyone, much less a girl. This is the moment that Cecilia realizes that he is still very much a child.
  • Character Development: This episode is a huge development for Junior, as he gets his first real girlfriend and proves his love for her by having a green-card marriage with her to bring her and The Morenos into the country.
  • Childhood Marriage Promise: Sort of. Junior and Cecilia, who, are already married, decide to break up relationship-wise and just be friends ... while still being legally married. Junior says that maybe a few years from now, they'll meet up again and fall in love for real and Cecilia agrees to this.
  • Citizenship Marriage: Junior elopes to Mexico with Cecilia and child married her to green card her entire family into America.
  • Deadpan Snarker: Cleveland does this all throughout Junior and Cecilia's song.
[Cleveland drinks a bunch of Jacks]
    Donna: Cleveland, you're driving tonight!
    Cleveland: Driving into a tree.
  • Double Subversion: Choni does this, when announcing the arrival of The Brown-Tubbs Family to Junior.
Choni: Hey, Junior. There's a black couple at table two so you know what that means ... No tip. [laughs] No I'm kidding. It's your parents.
Junior: You were right the first time.
  • Ephebophile: Holt is this to Cecilia taking creep shots of her and commenting on getting a boner from her.
  • From the Mouths of Babes: Junior demonstrates more knowledge in sex than Cleveland thought. Even Cleveland learns a thing of two from him.
Cleveland: Junior, do you know what sex is?
Junior: Well, when two people love each other very much, they hug each other for a long time.
    Cleveland: Yeah.
Junior: And then once she's good and warmed up, the man [extremely long censored beep] but that's only if you have one of those swings.
Cleveland: ... I need to live more.
  • Gratuitous Spanish: The Moreno Family uses this and so does Junior when he becomes part of the family.
  • Hot Guy, Ugly Wife: Cleveland and Donna are established as this, in contrast with Junior and Cecilia's relationship.
  • The Illegal: The Moreno Family was this before Junior green-carded them in.
  • Insane Troll Logic: Cleveland raises a good point with Choni about the quality of Mexican food.
Choni: How are you liking the food here?
Cleveland: It's Mexican food. It's the same everywhere.
  • Kissing Cousins: Possibly subverted. Redneck hillbilly character, Ernie, makes out with a girl who has the same last name as him but he clarifies that they're not related. His girlfriend then adds an unnerving "Hopefully" to the end of that sentence. Whether or not they're cousins is up for interpretation.
  • Like Parent, Like Spouse: It's revealed that the reason Cecilia fell in love with Junior is because he reminds her of her father.
    Cleveland: That explains a lot.
  • New Powers as the Plot Demands: Junior suddenly obtains the ability to speak fluent Spanish and play the guitar in this episode and Cleveland lampshades this.
  • Operation: Jealousy: Cleveland gets jealous that Junior's relationship with Cecilia is so much better than his own relationship with Donna. Junior and Choni calls him out on it, as well as the latter angry at him for nearly getting her niece deported.
  • Pun: When Junior elopes with his illegal immigrant girlfriend.
Cleveland: Well, Junior always wanted to be abducted by an alien.
  • Same Surname Means Related: A variation: due to having the same last name, Junior thinks that Elton John and Olivia Newton-John are married.
  • Sarcasm-Blind: Junior doesn't pick up on Flora's sarcasm.
    Junior: Do you work here?
Flora: No. I'm stealing the plates.
Junior: Oh. I should probably tell the manager.
  • Trailers Always Spoil: The audience is supposed to be led to believe that Flora is Junior's girlfriend before the big reveal that it's actually Cecilia but the promo for this episode shows Junior with Cecilia completely spoiling the first act twist.
  • Ugly Guy, Hot Wife: Junior and Cecilia become this.
