Did you have a nice sleep?

The sixth episode of Battle for Dream Island Again, the 31st episode chronologically, and the 68th episode of the overall series, in which we finally find out what happened between the events of "The Long-lost Yoyle City" and "Welcome Back". Puffball is eliminated, Rocky switches to W.O.A.H. Bunch, and the featured challenge is to find a comfortable place to sleep.

"Well Rested" contains examples of:

  • Achilles' Heel: While Evil Leafy is stronger than ever, her signature Teleport Spam makes no motion, thus preventing her from being identified by a motion-triggered door and getting in, at least until Gelatin's headphones fire off a spike ball and activate the door for her.
  • Adaptational Personality Change: Due to the new team writing, some characters have slightly different characteristics compared to the original series. An example is Bomby, who is now more confident and joyful and can speak full dialogue, when before he was a coward who would scream only one or two words every now and again.
  • Added Alliterative Appeal: Golf Ball calls herself the "team tyrant" because she likes alliteration (unless someone calls her a "bozo brain bossy bot").
  • As You Know: Pin recalls how Puffball lost the challenge for her team at the end of BFDIA 5 and let the fish monster eat Team No Name, and Pencil notes how Bubble and Match, as non-contestants, were struck from their team. Gelatin also mentions how Rocky still can't barf anymore.
  • Atrocious Alias: Needle gets another one of these, the nickname "Cranklord". Unlike "Needy", she doesn't hate it enough to slap Nickel or the Firey Speaker Box over it.
  • Back from the Dead: When Golf Ball complains about being in the bottom two for elimination despite managing the team yet again, Tennis Ball comes back to life after dying a few moments ago to call her out on it, but then goes back to being dead since he is still canonically dead right now.
  • Bread, Eggs, Milk, Squick:
Ruby: Wow! We're flying above so many historic Yoyle buildings right now!
Book: The Yoyle Needy, the Juice Cinema, the Yummy Filtration Plant...it's all right below us!
  • Breaking the Fourth Wall: During Cake at Stake, Tennis Ball (who died after eating electrified yoyleberries) briefly comes back to life to say that even though he knows he's canonically supposed to be dead at the moment, he's tired of Golf Ball making the same speech again and again. Immediately afterwards, he dies again.
  • The Bus Came Back:
    • Chronologically, this is the Announcer's first role in an episode beyond a cameo since the first season, although by this point he's become a regular character again out-of-universe.
    • Spike Ball Speaker Box makes a cameo appearance in Yellow Face's first ad as the one who donated the spike balls for his headphones, with them having not made an appearance since the final three episodes of the original BFDI.
    • Out-of-universe, this is Evil Leafy's first appearance since IDFB.
    • Also out-of-universe, this is the first time Pencil has been an active contestant since BFB 2, which was 6 years prior.
  • Call-Forward: In The Stinger, FreeSmart elects to start up a video diary, but Ruby takes cameragem duties, the camera rather notably having the lens cap still on. This would lead into IDFB, where Pencil only just finds out about this.
  • Chase Stops at Water: It's noted that Evil Leafy is unable to swim, so while chasing after W.O.A.H. Bunch and FreeSmart atop W.O.A.H. Bunch's dehumidifier pipe, when one team gets submerged in water, she chases after the other until they get submerged.
  • Chekhov's Gag: Yellow Face notes that his new headphones fire spikeballs uncontrollably. This comes into play later as a spike ball fired from Gelatin's headphones activates a motion-triggered door for Evil Leafy, letting her continue her chase.
  • Commercial Break Cliffhanger: Immediately after Evil Leafy appears, Yellow Face tries to do a commercial for a meditation app, but it turns out that said app doesn't exist, so it almost immediately returns to Evil Leafy's chase.
  • Continuity Snarl: While there are a good number of Call-Forwards to IDFB, there are also some things that conflict with IDFB, such as Ice Cube being present for Puffball's elimination, Bubble still being trapped in the TLC, and FreeSmart's video diary being started at the end of the episode rather than before it. However, there's a 3 year gap between BFDIA and IDFB, so a lot happened in that timeframe.
  • Does Not Like Spam: It is revealed in this episode that the Firey Speaker Box hates yoyleberries.
  • Doomed by Canon: It was revealed in IDFB 1 that Puffball was eliminated in the formerly-cancelled BFDIA 6, so it wasn't too surprising that she was eliminated when the episode came out.
  • Fun with Acronyms: Fries rates the rooms in the Evil Here Hotel (in order) "bad", "fancy", "decent" and "iffy".
  • Half the Man He Used to Be: During the fight between FreeSmart and W.O.A.H. Bunch, Pencil kicks Rocky into the air. Rocky then lands on Pin's point and splits in half.
  • Hoist by Their Own Petard: Coiny tries to scare FreeSmart into waking up by saying "Evil Leafy" over and over again at them. This calls Evil Leafy away from Team No Name and over to them, and eventually leads to W.O.A.H. Bunch's loss as they spend the whole night trying not to get eaten.
  • Immediate Sequel: The episode begins during the fall from the summit of Yoyle Mountain, which Fries notes during Cake at Stake. Ironically, this episode took the longest of any in the entire series to come out.
  • Lame Pun Reaction: Pin makes a pun saying "That's a good point". Cue booing sounds.
  • Laser-Guided Karma:
    • Puffball got exactly what was coming to her for making Pin lose her limbs, and making her own team (Team No Name) lose just so she can get a prize in the end of BFDIA 5. The viewers made sure her deeds weren't unpunished.
    • W.O.A.H. Bunch sabotaged the other teams by giving them Yellow Face's annoying headphones, but unfortunately for them, Gelatin learns to meditate and sleep with them on while Ice Cube learns to play soothing music on them to make FreeSmart sleep. They also used a dehumidifier pipe that gets the FreeSmart SuperVan stuck, leading to the entire place getting flooded with water, and tried to wake up FreeSmart by (unintentionally) calling Evil Leafy, so W.O.A.H. Bunch end up staying up all night trying not to get eaten which puts them up for elimination.
  • Leaning on the Fourth Wall:
    • When Ruby offers Book some yoyleberries, Book says that she feels she would refuse in an alternate universe, alluding to the original version of the scene where she calls out Ruby's obsession with yoyleberries.
    • Fries notes at Cake at Stake that it felt like yesterday when they lost the last challenge because BFDIA 6 begins not too long after where BFDIA 5e ended, while in real life days or weeks pass between episodes (although, in this case, it was the extreme time difference of just over 10 years).
  • Mirror Scare: After getting crushed in BFDIA 5c, Evil Leafy makes her comeback by appearing inside of the mirror shaped like her at the "Live" Here Hotel, causing her to phase back into reality and hunt Team No Name down.
  • Mouthscreen: The close-up of Coiny's mouth as he asks in slow-motion if anyone wants to switch to W.O.A.H. Bunch.
  • Relax-o-Vision: Defied. As soon as Evil Leafy pops up, Yellow Face hints at an app that allows for a more peaceful scenario... before denying it, and cutting back to Evil Leafy.
Yellow Face: Are you craving a meditation app to calm down from the frenzy of the world? (long inhale; exhale) Wellthenkeepcravingbecausethatappdon'texist!
  • Sarcasm-Blind: After Ruby makes a quick stop at the "Yummy Filtration Plant":
Pencil: (sarcastically) I'd LOVE for you to take me there for dinner someday.
    Ruby: (cheerfully) Sure thing!
  • Sdrawkcab Name: Team No Name decide to spend the night at the "Live" Here Hotel, ignorant to the fact that "Live" is upside-down and facing backwards, meaning to spell out Evil.
  • Secret-Keeper: It's revealed that Firey Speaker Box knows about and is working with the Announcer, who revealed his behind-the-scenes direction of BFDIA in BFB 29. At the Announcer's urging, Firey Speaker Box eats some yoyleberries to claim that the Announcer they saw was him after eating yoyleberries.
  • Self-Deprecation: One of the challenges on the wheel is "Wait 10 years for next episode", alluding to the fact that this episode was, of course, released 10 years after the previous one.
  • Shout-Out:
    • Ruby's line, "You do like yoyleberries, don't you, FSB?", is a reference to SpongeBob's line "You like Krabby Patties, don't you Squidward?" from the SpongeBob SquarePants episode "Just One Bite".
    • When taking Yellow Face's headphones to equip them to the other teams, Needle exclaims, "I'll take your entire stock!"
    • To Star Wars when Yellow Face gives Coiny something he refers to as a "lightsaber".
  • So Proud of You: After spending the entire episode not listening to what Ice Cube has to say, Pencil ends up being proud of her after she figures out how to rewire Yellow Face's headphones to play different music.
  • Tempting Fate: Puffball is sure she'll get the prize at Cake At Stake. As the audience has known for around ten years, Firey gets the prize and Puffball gets eliminated.
  • Title Drop: Done by Nickel before W.O.A.H. Bunch start taking a rest.
  • Victory Dance: Firey does one when he finds out he's safe with the most likes.
  • Wingding Eyes: Yellow Face gains heart eyes when Needle tells him she needs to kill someone right away and will take his entire stock of Revolutionary Headphones.
  • Worst. Whatever. Ever!:
    • Book says that Yellow Face's Revolutionary Headphones are the "worst headphones ever".
    • Nickel says that W.O.A.H. Bunch will have the "worst sleep ever" if they get rained on.
