    Season 1
  • In the pilot, Theo has a delightful Oh, Crap! reaction after her technicians switch on a generator in the middle of town (thinking it will appease a rioting mob), right as, after being accused of hoarding, Theo is telling the townspeople that there is no generator.
  • In "Man of Iron, Woman Under Glass":
    • Jeremiah and Kurdy give a lift to a Native American Thunder Mountain affiliate who likes poking fun at the Magical Native American stereotype but is implicitly willing to invoke it to get people to listen more closely to his advice about living off the land. Before parting ways with the duo, he asks them if his buckskin jeans make his ass look fat, with them assuring him otherwise.
    • Jeremiah and Kurdy crash their car while swerving to avoid aspiring superhero John/Captain Iron. He insists that he is invulnerable and would have been fine if they hit him, then explains that he was flagging them down to warn them that there are bandits down-road who run motorists off the road, injuring them. Jeremiah gets a great Sarcasm Mode moment when, while glancing at his own injuries, he thanks Captain Iron from saving them from that fate.
  • In "To Sail Beyond the Stars", Jeremiah answers several successive questions by saying "Maybe". When Kurdy asks if he is going to say anything besides that one word, Jeremiah replies "Maybe".
  • In "Journeys End at Lovers Meeting", Kurdy criticizes how pessimistic Jeremiah is and recites a parable his mother told him about how if you show a kid a box of shit, some of them will leave in disgust while others will dig through the shit to see if there is an animal inside the box. Jeremiah’s takeaway from this is surprise that Kurdy’s mother said the word "shit" in front of her six-year-old son, causing Kurdy to get indignant at the idea Jeremiah is insulting his mom.
  • In "Thieves' Honor", Jeremiah handcuffs himself to Theo while holding her prisoner and then realizes that Kurdy (who has left for the other side of town) has the key. Then, when Jeremiah complains about having to drag around "150 pounds of dead weight", Theo stops in her tracks and gets offended that he thinks she weighs that much.
  • In "The Touch", Jeremiah and Kurdy find a town where touch is outlawed due to fear of the Big Death. Kurdy is quite intrigued to realize that this means that all of the young women in the town are virgins.
  • In "Mother of Invention":
    • Jeremiah and Kurdy embody Those Two Guys as they talk about how fun it is outside in the rain, while in full Sarcasm Mode. Then when they protest about how tough it will be working with another team, Markus agrees it will be a burden, for the people he is sending with them. Jeremiah and Kurdy then argue about which one of them is responsible for failing to charm Markus.
    • Jeremiah and Kurdy talk about how much they liked watching the Star Wars movies, then both struggle to remember the title.
  • In "Tripwire":
    • Erin asks if Jeremiah is always in such a bad mood, and Kurdy replies, "Only when he’s awake."
    • Jeremiah gets confused at why Kurdy is so focused on the butt of a dead assassin (with a nearby guard giving them a Mistaken for Gay look) until Kurdy explains he is noticing how the man is wearing underwear manufactured since the Big Death.
  • In "Ring of Truth":
    • Jeremiah tells Kurdy that some mushrooms Kurdy gathers in the woods for dinner are dangerous. Kurdy says he knows a way to tell the difference between good and bad mushrooms: the bad ones will kill you. Then, they proceed to go on a Mushroom Samba, talking about big birds, game shows, and the like. Then, the next morning, Jeremiah gets a Cassandra Truth reaction after walking Kurdy and telling him that an elephant just walked through their camp.
    • A shady Large Ham fight promoter allied with Rasmussen introduces Kurdy (who has just challenged a Giant Mook) as "The Living Death Wish".
  • In "Moon in Gemini":
    • Kurdy and Elizabeth agree to watch each others' behinds on a mission and Kurdy jokes that he has the better end of the deal.
    • A duel with lances takes a brief farcical turn when Jeremiah swings his like a club and it gets caught in a chandelier.
  • In "A Means to an End", overly dramatic music plays loudly for almost a minute as Theo enters the Thunder Mountain bathroom and starts taking advantage of having running water for the first time in fifteen years.
  • In "Things Left Unsaid Part 2", remarkably accurate and knowledgeable informant Wylie is introduced right after Jeremiah learns he got his nickname due to being compared to the cartoon coyote who goes crazy chasing things he will never catch. To seemingly emphasize this, Wylie is trying to play a non-functioning handheld video game. He then tells Jeremiah this is just an act to make his enemies underestimate him, only to immediately get weird when Jeremiah touches a doll Wylie has.

    Season 2
  • In "Letters from the Other Side Part 1": Markus grimly recounts the massive arsenal that the Valhalla Sector used to capture him and the others at St. Louis, then sarcastically quips that one Mook even used foul language.
  • In "Strange Attractors":
    • Mr. Smith says that Mr. is his actual first name, causing Jeremiah to make some Who's on First? cracks.
    • Jeremiah asks what Smith’s problem is and a straight-faced Smith replies he can list them alphabetically or in order of psychiatric trauma.
    • The earnest way that Libby says that her helping infiltrate Millhaven is the stupidest plan possible, but is still the only one that may work.
    • The WTF expression Kurdy makes after Smith says that when God first spoke to him after his attempted suicide by drowning, a wave washed him ashore even though he was in the middle of a lake and not the ocean.
    • When Jeremiah asks the leader of Millhaven about the effect his wealth-hoarding policy has on the lower class, the man pretends to be recalling an eloquent Socrates quote, then simply says "Fuck 'em."
  • In "Deus ex Machina":
    • Jeremiah tells Libby that Markus is a masterful orator who probably has the regional leaders following his lead without any trouble. He opens the door to the constitutional convention and sees people throwing thing at each other and Markus swearing angrily to try to restore order. Jeremiah quickly closes the door and suggests they come back later.
    • Theo is silent while Markus talks to her about the conference. When he gets annoyed, she points out she is eating and says she was taught never to talk with her mouth full. Markus asks if her mother taught her that and has a Brain Bleach reaction when Theo says that it was a prostitute who told her that piece of advice.
  • In "The Mysterious Mr. Smith":
    • Markus complains about how Smith is crazy and only ever talks about hearing God talk to him, while Kurdy insists there is more to Smith. Smith comes over to sit next to them, looks at his meal and says "God", out of frustration about forgetting some salt. Markus thinks he is talking about a vision from God, asks about it, then tries to pretend he meant something else after Smith explains what he really meant. After Markus leaves, Smith unwittingly echoes what Markus says about him by saying Markus is nice but strange.
    • When Libby tells Jeremiah the people of Millhaven respect him so much they will give him a fruit basket, he says that sounds crazy, so maybe he will have fruit and nuts. Then, to his bemusement, he really does get a fruit basket.
    • Frank, the town reporter, writes an article about Jeremiah and his defiance against Daniel with the headline "Man of Principle or Well-Intentioned Idiot?" Jeremiah tracks down Frank and angrily brings up the "Well-Intentioned Idiot" part while Frank tries to hide behind the "Man of Principle" part of the headline.
    • The Oh, Crap! look Jeremiah and Frank share when they hear the roof they are standing on about to give way.
  • In "Voices in the Dark", when the main trio meet Rebel Leader Rachel, she is confused by how Mister is Smith's first name. Kurdy says it is a long story, but Smith quickly explains it and smugly tells Kurdy it wasn’t long after all. Rachel then insists on being called Ms. Rachel, and Kurdy snarks at Smith for this while Smith calls himself a trend-setter. Smith is also pretty annoyed when Rachel says she had heard of Jeremiah and Kurdy but not him.
  • Sims's first reaction to seeing the wanted poster Thunder Mountain made of him in "Running on Empty" is to say he thinks he's more handsome and ask if it got his good side. His snarky main goon asks which side that is supposed to be.
  • In "The Question", one of the New Meat soldiers says that he is sure whoever Markus has training them is the best of the best. The scene cuts to Kurdy nervously stepping in front of a mirror and practicing a Cliché Storm of stock phrases from Boot Camp Episodes.
