Go To

Apollo Justice, a young attorney working under Kristoph Gavin, didn’t expect much when agreeing to babysit his idol Phoenix Wright’s daughter Trucy. He certainly didn’t expect that her birth family, the Gramayre, are part of a lineage of guardians for ancient artifacts called Miraculouses that are bound to the powerful Kwamis. Now he and Trucy must wield their own Miraculous as Ladybug and Kitty-Whiskers, fighting against Hawkmoth and his akumas while keeping their own Miraculouses safe.

Tales of the Mysterious and Miraculous Kitty-Whiskers Soot-Fur, and... Ladybug is an Ace Attorney / Miraculous Ladybug crossover by snekwami. It is currently ongoing

Warning: Late-Arrival Spoiler for Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney will be unmarked.

Tales of Kitty-Whiskers and Ladybug contains examples of

  • Accidental Murder: When Snow-Fur cataclysm a nearby building to try and ignore Hawkmoth's orders, she suddenly can't hear him. Once she is purified, Trucy suspects that she might have accidentally Cataclysm Hawkmoth while as an akuma, though he would come back thanks to Miraculous Ladybug.
  • Adaptational Badass: Apollo and Trucy are now heroes wielding the Ladybug and Black Cat Miraculous.
  • Alternate Timeline: At the start of the story, Apollo is still working under Kristoph Gavin. However, he meets and befriends the Wrights during one of his cases and often gets roped in as Trucy's babysitter, leading to them becoming superheroes when Trucy receives the two Miraculous boxes.
  • Back from the Dead: The Miraculous Ladybug can bring people back from the dead. In chapter 2, a witness at Mike Meekins trial is Rekta Resu, his boss who he killed as the akuma Bad Badger. And in chapter 10, Snow-Fur unwittingly kills Hawkmoth, but Trucy and Apollo knows that he's be back after Trucy is purified and Apollo fixes everything.
  • Batman Gambit: In "Snipperwhapper", Trucy needs Snackoos to recharge Plagg after she used a Cataclysm to break free of the akuma's bubble. She spots Ema eating some and pleads for her to share, but the detective isn't interested in doing so. So Trucy says how cool magic and how it's better than science, especially forensic science. With her Berserk Button pressed, Ema tosses her Snackoos at Trucy, exactly what the magician wanted.
  • Brother–Sister Team: As in canon, Apollo and Trucy are this, but aren't aware they are blood siblings.
  • Cartesian Karma: In chapter 2, Mike Meekins is on trial for the murder of his boss when he was the akuma Bad Badger. But thanks to Apollo, this gets Subverted when he proves without a doubt that Mike was corrupted and under the mind manipulation of Hawkmoth. This sets the precedent that all crimes commited by akumas will be charged to Hawkmoth once Ladybug and Kitty-Whiskers reveal his identity
  • Child Hater: The akuma Snipperwhapper, aka Wendy Oldbags, hates "whippersnappers" and uses her gun to bubble them up and send them into the air, telling them they'll stay there until they learn to behave.
  • Disappointed by the Motive: A rare self-applied example with Ema Skye annoyed that she got akumatized just because someone (Plagg) ate all of her Snackaroos. This is especially true when she recalls her own Dark and Troubled Past and thinks those moments of grief are more worthy of being akumatized over.
Ema: Honestly! People are out here getting akumatised over important things like losing their jobs, and what do I get? Someone ate my Snackoos! To think I’m going to be remembered as that person who got akumatised because someone ate her Snackoos!
  • Entertainingly Wrong:
    • Trucy believes that her father Zak was the one who gave her (and indirectly Apollo) their Miraculous, as he was the last person with access to the Ladybug and Black Cat Miraculous. She finds out in chapter 10 that her father was already dead on that day.
    • Kristoph, between his own paranoia and grudge, plus seeing Phoenix as the only who had access to the Gramayre legacy through Zak, thinks that Phoenix Wright is the hero Ladybug and is actively trying to defeat him.
  • Foreshadowing: When Daryan is akumatized, Hawkmoth stops him from harming Klavier. This hints to his true identity as Kristoph Gavin.
  • Gaslighting: When Apollo asks Kristoph where he was during events of Hiss Sneksellency, Kristopher tries to convince him that he must have feeling unwell that day due to the poison. It doesn't work on Apollo, so Kristoph fires Apollo so can't investigate him so closely.
  • Guest-Star Party Member: Athena temporarily becomes the fox hero to help against an akuma.
  • He Knows Too Much: A non-fatal example, where Kristopher fires Apollo when the latter suspects that he's Hawkmoth thanks to Klavier telling him.
  • Heroic Lineage: The Gramayre family are the long-time guardians and wielders of the Miraculous. As children of this lineage, Apollo and Trucy continue this legacy.
  • Hypocritical Humor: After Plagg causes Ema to get akumatized after eating all of her Snackoos, Apollo tells Trucy she needs to enforce more discipline on her Kwami. Truly argues that she can't boss around someone that's older than her, though Apollo points out that she tried to boss him around plenty of times.
  • One Hero, Hold the Weaksauce: As an adult, Apollo can use his powers as long as he has enough energy, contrasting with Trucy who can only use her Cataclysm once per transformation before turning back after 5 minutes.
  • Overly Long Name: Trucy's full hero name is the Mysterious and Miraculous Kitty-Whiskers Soot-Fur. Everyone just calls her Kitty-Whiskers or KitKat for short.
  • Right for the Wrong Reasons: In chapter 11, during a dinner with Phoenix, Kristoph realizes that the other man is plotting to take his down. Though due to his own Wrong Assumption, Kristoph is convinced Phoenix means that as Ladybug he figured out Kristoph is Hawkmoth and is going to finish him off, instead of working on a trial to expose Kristoph for framing him with using fake evidence in court.
  • Secret-Keeper:
    • Due to opening their Miraculous boxes together, Apollo and Trucy are this to their superhero identities.
    • Lamior figures out who Ladybug and Kitty-Whiskers are thanks to her Super-Hearing and ability to recognize voices, though she lies in court about being able to recognize them.
    • Valant figures out that Kitty-Whiskers is his niece Trucy, though promises her not to tell anyone.
    • It's implied that Klavier knows that Ladybug is Apollo, and Apollo is more than convinced he does.
    • Phoenix has suspected that Kitty-Whiskers is his daughter Trucy and Ladybug is Apollo, though he only finds out in chapter 10.
  • Screw Yourself: In chapter 3, Trucy brings up how she's been writing fanfic about Kitty-Whiskers and Ladybug, and include her civilian self as a character to help throw off the scent of her Secret Identity. To mess with Apollo, she jokes about having Kitty-Whiskers and Trucy in a secret love affair.
Apollo:I take it back. The Gavinners fic was a better idea
  • Secret Secret-Keeper: Plagg recognizes the amnesiac Lamior as Thalassa Gramayre.
  • Seen It All: Played With for the Judge. During Turnabout Akuma, the Judge remarks how surprising it is to have the murder victim alive and as a witness, though he brings up seeing witnesses brought back by Fey Spirit Channeling. That said, finding out that Meekins was brainwashed by Hawkmoth to commit murder certainly makes it one of the strangest trials in his life.
  • Trademark Favorite Food: As in Miraculous, Plagg enjoys cheese. Here he also enjoys cheese-flavored Snackoos.
  • Wham Episode: The first half of Chapter 10 has Trucy find out that her birth father, Zak Gramayre, was Shadi Smith and who was killed months ago, with the grief while transformed as Kitty-Whisker leading her to become the akuma Snow-Fur. Thankfully, Apollo and Phoenix are able to get her back to normal, with Phoenix confirming his suspicions of who they are and becoming their Secret-Keeper. The second half has Klavier inviting Apollo over to dinner where he tells the latter about his suspicion that his brother Kristoph is the super-villain Hawkmoth.
