Irene Handl, (27 December 1901 — 29 November 1987), was a British character actress who appeared in over 100 films.

She learned her skills studying at an acting school before appearing on stage in 1937. At the start of The '40s, she appeared in Uncredited Roles in British films, until The '50s, wherein she began to be cast in bigger roles.

Some of her memorable roles on the big screen include prisoner's mother Mrs. Price in Two-Way Stretch, fur coat saleswoman Madame Spolinski in Make Mine Mink, scheming councillor Mrs. Spicer in No Kidding, Cranky Landlady Mrs. Crevatte in The Rebel, Gold Digging mother Mrs. Dailey in Doctor in Trouble, and driving school student Miss Slenderparts in Confessions of a Driving Instructor.

Some of her more notable roles on TV include Mrs. Twissle in Educating Archie and Ada Cresswell in For the Love of Ada and the 1972 film version. At the start of The '80s, she was Gran in Metal Mickey. Her final acting role was as Gwenneth in In Sickness and in Health, just before she died of cancer at the age of 85.
