    Anima

Anima

Anima was all-powerful in his former world as well as all-hated. Insecure, depressed, living in loneliness, he is summoned into a new world by a pretty young woman where no one knows anything about him. Swearing to live an upstanding life as a good husband and father, his lovely-dovey family life has only just begun!

  • Apologises a Lot: Anima is terrified of scaring people or doing the wrong thing so he apologizes profusely whenever he thinks he has done anything wrong. Usually he hasn't and is overreacting.
  • Dark Is Not Evil: Although he was a demon lord and his father was a harem-keeping demon lord, Anima just wants to have friends, a wife and a family. He doesn't really want to hurt anyone.
  • Declaration of Protection: Anima gives this to Luina and then the girls. At the end of Light Novel 2, he tells the king that he will protect the whole kingdom if threatened since he now considers the nation his new home.
  • Doting Parent: To Marie and Myuke and later Bram.
  • Extreme Omnivore: Anima can eat anything from poisonous demons to mud pies with no hard done. He prefers Luina's sandwiches, however.
  • Friendless Background: Anima's father was an uncaring harem lord. He never knew his mother. His siblings hated him for his percieved cruel look. Attempts to even visit a town in disguise resulted in all the residents fleeing in terror. Needless to say, he had almost no social skills upon arriving in Luina's world.
  • Happily Married: To Luina.
  • Horned Humanoid: Anima naturally has two huge horns growing out of his head. People in his new world are unfazed, thinking them a by-product of a magical stone.
  • Hunk: Anima's physique matches his strength and prowess. Myuke, Bram and even Marie often comment on how ripped and muscily he is, with proper Luina agreeing with blushes and longing looks.
  • Karma Houdini: Anima is forgiven for killing Malshan by the king because of his actions dealing with Bram at the bridge.
  • Men Can't Keep House: Anima is afraid of doing any housework from total lack of experience and fear of making a mistake. He volunteers for any physical labor. Later he begins to do housework under Luina's supervision.
  • Nice Guy: Anima gets his chance to become this in his new world, and he does his best to act this way too. He is now loved in the local town of Geraat.
  • Nigh-Invulnerability: Anima was unbeatable in his home world. The threats of Luina's world have been much less threatening for him so far, making him invulnerable to any possible threat.
  • No Social Skills: Anima wants to behave as a good person and be a loving husband and father. Unfortunately, he has no idea how to go about that having been raised by an uncaring father who used the women in his life and having spent all his life becoming invincible.
  • Parental Abandonment: His father was too busy adding new women to his harem to pay much attention to Anima while his mother and siblings were even worse.
  • Papa Wolf: After he acquires his new family, he is fiercely protective of it. He is prepared to kill anyone who threatens his new wife or adopted children even though he wants to avoid violence in his new life.
  • Person of Mass Destruction: Anima is said to be this but no threat in his new world has even made him have to use magic, let alone bust out any moves more complicated than a simple kick.
  • Really 700 Years Old: Anima is 150 years old. Humans in his world can easily live to 300 and he assumes Luina is around the same age, a mistake she corrects.
  • Super-Toughness: Anima has incredible magical powers but is so tough in Luina's world, a mere kick sends his opponents flying.
  • The Stoic: Mainly because of Anima's lack of people skills at the start of the story.
  • Took a Level in Cheerfulness: By the second volume, Anima is more comfortable as a new father and husband and is much more open and talkative to those around him.
  • Undying Loyalty: To Luina and his new family.
  • What Beautiful Eyes!: In his homeworld, Anima's eyes were said to be evil and cruel, part of the reason he was hated and feared. After being summoned, Luina declares that his eyes were mainly what caused her to fall in love with him in return.
  • White Hair, Black Heart: Totally subverted. While Anima is a demon lord and has white hair, he only longs to find a loving wife and live peacefully with a family somewhere out of the way.
  • You Can't Go Home Again: Anima can never return to his home world due to being summoned by the Harbringer stone. But this trope is somewhat inverted in that he was loathed in his home world, his name was used to scare children, and he found the love of his life in Luina.

    Luina Scarlett

Luina Scarlett

Luina Scarlett's ancestor saved her world from the world-ending demon The Harbringer some 300 years ago. Her father was a famous powerful Hunter and hero the people looked up to. Unfortunately, after both her father and mother died, the kingdom stopped supporting her family and little by little they fell into poverty. Luina now struggles to maintain the orphanage started by her father and care for the remaining two children that remain. She secretly keeps the very stone of the Harbringer which would allow her to summon and control anything. Dreading to ever use it and fearing the return of the Harbringer, Luina is forced to use her little power to save herself and Marie by summoning in Anima into her world.

  • Damsel in Distress: How Luina met Anima. She has almost little magical power of her own and was helpless before a goblin raiding her orphanage.
  • Famous Ancestor: Her ancestor saved the world from the Harbringer, a ridiculously powerful demon that was going to destroy the world.
  • Happily Married: To Anima.
  • The Heart: Luina constantly guides Anima and helps him adapt to life as a husband and father as well as care for her children and bring them up well.
  • Informed Attractiveness: Apart from the artwork and Anima's constant compliments of Luina's beauty, even Bram tells Luina that she could catch a 'whole school of fish' due to her amazing beauty, so why did she have to catch Anima before Bram gave up trying to steal Anima for her own.
  • Secret-Keeper: After the Harbringer was defeated, it dropped an incredibly powerful magic stone that has been in the Scarlett family for 300 years. Kept secret against the chance that the Harbringer will return, Luina loathes to tell anyone about it and has used it only once, bringing Anima into her world.
  • Struggling Single Mother: Luina at the beginning of the story. She is caring for two orphans in an empty house, having already sold everything she possibly could. She can hardly afford to feed herself and the children. They probably could not have lasted much longer without Anima.
  • Uptown Girl: Was this before her father and mother died and the family fell into abject poverty.

    Myuke

Myuke

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/myuke.jpg

Myuke is a 12 year old orphan living in the orphanage that Luina operates. She considers herself a big sister to other younger children that lived in the orphanage or later join the family. She is also determined to help Luina and, at the beginning of the story, is working as a Hunter to earn money. Unfortunatley, she is armed only with a slime stone, one of the weakest possible, and is used as a pack-mule by higher ranking Hunters. She doesn't trust Anima at first after coming home to find her adoptive mother married to a stranger and Marie calling him Daddy. She soon learns that he means good and soon considers him her adoptive father as well, calling him Daddy too.

  • Children Are Innocent: Subverted for Myuke as she is well aware of what Luina and Anima are up to when they kiss and cuddle in bed or while cooking. She even volunteers to sleep on a makeshift bed made of chairs somewhere else because she knows what comes next after the cuddling and wants to give her parents some privacy. This of course makes Luina and Anima beet-red with embarrasement
  • Clingy Jealous Girl: Myuke gets enraged at the thought of anyone trying to steal her Daddy from her or her mother Luina. It takes a while for her to warm up to Bram because she was trying to claim Anima for her own.
  • Deadpan Snarker: Myuke isn't afraid to tell anyone what's on her mind or what she thinks in a very sarcastic and cutting way. This really kicks in after Bram joins the family.
  • Fiery Red Head: Even when she was a little girl, Myuke liked to bait and tease other children at the orphanage with her snarking ways. She also will not hesitate to speak out if anything threatens her family even with Anima around to protect them.
  • Hates Being Alone: From being an orphan to seeing the other children leave the orphanage, leaving it empty and her friendless, Myuke now dreads being alone.

    Marie

Marie

Marie is a 3 year old orphan living in Luina's orphanage. She consideres Luina her mother and quickly adopts Anima as her new father after learning he protected Luina from a goblin attack. She loves bunny rabbits and is a cheerful child who gets along well with others.

  • Affectionate Gesture to the Head: While headpats become common for the whole family, Marie eagerly asks to be petted on the head often by Luina and Anima.
  • Baby Talk: Marie often garbles her words as she is still very young, often needing Luina to act as translator for her.
  • Children Are Innocent: Marie, as a young child, is a total innocent.
  • The Cutie: Is pretty much the archtypical cheerful, adorable child who rarely gets upset, angry or sullen.

    Bram Boise

Bram Boise

Bram Boise is a ten year old girl who has recently lost her father, her mother having died years before. She posesses one of the Harbringer's Familiars stones, very powerful artifacts second only to the Harbringer Stone that Luina holds. Bram uses this stone to turn herself into a Jade Dragon and block a strategic bridge for weeks, crippling the kingdom in LN#2. Anima travels with his family to confront her. It turns out she is looking for a man capable of beating her dragon form with the objective of marrying him. She abhores weakness as her mother and father were sickly and weak people who died early. Anima talks her down after easily blocking her attack, but she then pursues him to get him to marry her. Anima talks her out of this as well. Bram joins the family after the events of the second light novel.
