Reinhart

Known for underhanded politics and poisoning their enemies. The current head of the family, Magnolia Reinhart, seized power by force and has been single-handedly trying to change the image of her House.

Reinhart Family

    Magnolia Reinhart

[Lady]

A high leveled [Lady] and the head of the Reinhart Family. She is famous throughout Izril, even among the non-human nations, for her role in the Antinium Wars. Her primary concerns are preventing a third Antinium War, keeping Otherworld technology from disturbing the balance of power across the world, and indulging her Sweet Tooth.
  • The Bully: Her typical methods of getting people to do what she wants usually involve her bullying someone in some way.
  • The Chessmaster: Lady Magnolia Reinhart, a high-level [Lady] of extreme wealth and influence and perhaps the most powerful Human on Izril.
  • Compelling Voice: She has one as a high level [Lady]. It's so strong that it even works on the Frost Faeries. Ryoka resisting it is one of the things that truly impresses her about the younger woman.
  • Contract on the Hitman: After being betrayed by the Assassin's Guild, Magnolia swears to destroy the entire guild.
  • Genghis Gambit: Hopes to unite the continent of Izril by placing both the Antinium and Necromancer Az'Kerash as common enemies to every other species (which in fairness had been). Unfortunately her methods to get people to fall in line were largely bully, coercion, and bribery which led to many human nobles sabotaging her effort which eventually led to disaster and the death of the highest level general on the continent whom she'd finally persuaded to help her.
  • Nice to the Waiter: She is loyal to her staff and will accommodate those who can no longer fulfill their previous role, especially if they were injured through no fault of their own. This includes some servants who lost limbs during an attack on one of her mansions, then hits closer when Reynold lost his legs defending her from Faces of the Assassin's Guild.
  • Rainbow Speak: Her text is rendered in bright pink when she uses her Compelling Voice.
  • Royals Who Actually Do Something: Don't let her disarming chatter and preference for pink fool you. She is a high leveled [Lady] who lead armies in her youth, and can still hold her own in a fight.
  • Sweet Tooth: Her first appearance involved spending a small fortune on a rush delivery of ice cream. She also has a habit of drinking "tea" which has a disgusting amount of sugar in it. And let's not get started on cakes.
  • Try to Fit That on a Business Card: Downplayed; in 9.57B, her full Class is revealed, and it's as expected of one of the highest-Leveled [Ladies] in the world: Level 57 [Flower of Izril, Lady of the Dragon’s Promise].

    Calidus Reinhart

[Genius of Sloth], [Lord]

    Regis Reinhart
  • Ancient Conspiracy: He is both a secret of the Reinhart family and involved with the Order of Thorns.
  • The Man Behind the Curtain: Subverted. Regis pretends that he's bound to the Reinhart treasury, so he is this to the characters within the story.

Magnolia's Staff

    Ressa

[Head Maid], [Assassin]

The head maid in service of [Lady] Magnolia. She has served Magnolia as long as anyone can remember, and acts as her chief servant, confidant, and bodyguard. She is extremely competent and efficient, and expects the same of anyone in her lady's employ.
  • Death Glare: One of her Skills gives her one that can paralyze anyone nearby. She is mildly confused when it has no effect on Erin.
  • Ninja Maid: Lady Magnolia's right hand, Ressa, is the [Head Maid] in charge of training the rest of her overly capable staff and an assassin. When Ryoka mistakes her for a [Ninja], Magnolia laughs and jokes about it.
Magnolia: A [Ninja]! Wouldn’t that be quite amazing to see? If I bought you some dark clothing, would you hang from the ceiling and jump out of the shadows to fill my cup?
  • Silk Hiding Steel: She is the epitome of the stereotypical high class Maid, and responsible for running the day to day operations of the Reinhart household. This excellently complements her real job as Magnolia's personal bodyguard and [Assassin].

    Reynold Ferusdam

[Combat Butler]

    Theofore

[Assassin]

An incredibly unlucky ex-member of the Assassin's Guild.
  • Assassin Outclassin': He failed to keep track of Ryoka, who has no Levels but shook him off anyway through the use of mundane parkour.

Veltras

Known for their beast-taming abilities. Following recent conflicts such as the Antinium Wars and the last Goblin King, House Veltras has become known for military leadership. The current head of the House is Tyrion Veltras.

    Tyrion Veltras

[Lord]

  • Blessed with Suck: In 8.74DR, he gets de-aged from 47 to 28 years old, restoring his youth, but also returning him, one of the most powerful [Lords] of his age, to the Level, Classes, and Skills he possessed at that time. Veers a bit into Cursed with Awesome though, since he earned some rare time-related Skills and a new Class from it, [Lancer of the Ages].
  • Crusading Widow: Drakes are his number one most-hated species because it was Drakes who killed his wife. This culminates in Tyrion driving Reiss' Goblin army into the Floodplains to give him an excuse to attack Liscor.
  • Heel Realization: After seeing one of his sons playing with a young Gnoll from Liscor, he realizes that his hatred for Drakes should be focused on their High Command and that the citizens of Liscor had never wronged him personally.
  • Protectorate: Calls off his attack on the Goblin army and Liscor when Magnolia and her allies threaten the families of several high-ranking members of his army. Invoked again when Tyrion needs to do whatever it will take to defeat the Assassin's Guild and get a cure delivered to his sick children.

    Hethon Veltras

[Lord]

    Sammial Veltras

[Lordling]

Terland

Known for magical fortifications and Golems. Formerly well-known as Vampire slayers. Currently led by Ulva Terland.

    Ulva Terland

    Xitigen Terland, [Lord]
  • Acrofatic: Even Ryoka acknowledges that he can move.

El

Known for craftsmanship and the creation of magical items. The poorest of the Five Families following the loss of many of their artifacts and a series of poor investments, their fortunes are beginning to turn around with sales of Kaalblades. They are currently led by Deilan El, following the death of Mavolia El.

    Maviola El

Wellfar

Best known for their naval and trade fleets. In the modern day their most notable trade good is sugar. They had also been heavily involved in the Eir Gel trade but that presumably collapsed alongside the production of Eir Gel. Unlike the other Five Families, House Wellfar lacks a single leader but is instead led through meetings known as the Conclave of Ships.
