Mia
Played By: Lisa Ambalavanar
- Alpha Bitch: Pretty, snarky and aloof, she fits the bill in early episodes.
- Break the Haughty: Her experiences with Amber in Season One humbles her considerably.
- Disappeared Dad: Her dad left her and her mother years ago; she still keeps a locket containing a picture of them together.
- Parental Neglect: Her aforementioned dad doesn't keep in touch with her, and her mother is said to not like having her around and to routinely send her away to camps over the summer to get away from her.
- However, this seems to have changed in Season Two, where she is working from home to be near Mia while she recovers from the events at the camp.
Amber
Played By: Ellie Duckles
A camper who turns out to have strange, dangerous powers.- Alpha Bitch: Initially takes the form as one even greater than Mia, but she eventually turns out to be a more genuinely dangerous antagonist.
- Being Good Sucks: After being released from her statue form in Season Two, she starts having emotions and is troubled by having to deal with the painful ones.
- Brought Down to Normal: After she is freed from her statue form in Season Two, she also loses her powers.
- Clingy Jealous Girl: She gets really possessive of Dev, even though she doesn't strictly speaking seem to have much feelings for him; instead, it's more about getting under Mia's skin.
- False Friend: Even as she's gotten into the heads of her clique with her powers, she puts on a facade of friendship with them, but doesn't really care about any of them and won't hesitate to cruelly threaten or punish them if they do something to displease her.
- Heel–Face Turn: After losing her powers and starting to feel emotions and empathy, she joins the rest of the cast and helps them destroy the animosine source.
- Light Is Not Good: Whatever her mostly white clothing and bright blonde hair might suggest, she is thoroughly evil.
- Master of Illusion: A part of her powers is making people see things that aren't there or hiding things that are.
- The Sociopath: Cold and calculating and able to put on a show of emotion to manipulate people.
Alex
Played By: Rosie Dwyer
An antisocial, genderqueernote camper.- Brooding Boy, Gentle Girl: The brooding person to Petal's gentle girl.
- Defrosting Ice Queen: She is initially very aloof and keeps to herself, but she warms up to the others over time, especially Petal.
- Deuteragonist: After Mia, she gets the most focus of the characters of the series, especially when the two of them start working together against Amber.
- Hidden Heart of Gold: She turns out to be very caring of those close to her.
- Tomboy and Girly Girl: The tomboy to Mia and Petal's girly girl.
Dev
Played By: Jacob Dudman (season 1), Barnaby Tobias (season 2)
- Nice Guy: He is caring towards Mia, and was nice to Midge even though she was unpopular.
Harry
Played By: Benjamin Nugent
A bespectacled, Scottish camper.- Amusing Injuries: For most of the first season, he has a wrist brace on his right arm, saying it happened when he closed his suitcase. He says he has a tendency towards ridiculous injuries.
- Cowardly Lion: Despite his fear of pretty much everything, he presses on throughout Season One and is the one who arranges the group's return to the island in Season Two.
- Nerd Glasses: Always wears a pair of large, round glasses.
- The Smart Guy: In addition to being very gifted with technology, he puts together a lot of helpful research about Peregrine Island during Season Two.
Petal
Played By: Georgina Sadler
A camper who befriends Alex.- Broke Your Arm Punching Out Cthulhu: She is able to resist Amber's attempt to enter her mind, which even knocks Amber out for a while, but she spends the rest of Season One mentally disoriented.
- Brooding Boy, Gentle Girl: The gentle girl to Alex's brooding person.
- Heroic Willpower: When Amber tries to enter her mind, she puts up enough resistance to prevent her, even though it's clearly painful.
- Nice Girl: A very warm and friendly person.
Kayleigh
Played By: Savannah Baker
An extroverted camper who initially pairs up with Mia, but becomes one of the first to get sucked into Amber's orbit.- Break the Cutie: In Season One, she is one of those who suffers the worst from being a pawn in Amber's mind control game.
- Genki Girl: Very enthusiastic and nice to new people.
- Motor Mouth: She is very chatty.
- Nice Girl: Very bubbly and lovable.
- Out-of-Character Alert: One of the first red flags about Amber is that she somehow convinces Kayleigh to cut her hair similar to her own after Kayleigh had told Mia how much care she put into her long hair.
Zac
Played By: Jack Kane
One of the campers. Close friends with Brendan. Brendan
Played By: Micheal Ward
A muscular camper. Close friends with Zac.- Demoted to Extra: In Season Two, he is only in one scene, in which a video he tried to spread is shown; he is said to have been in hiding since the events of Season One.
- Incompatible Orientation: He briefly has a crush on Petal, only to learn that she's a lesbian who is more interested in Alex.
- Lovable Jock: A fit guy and quite friendly, until he is mind controlled by Amber.
- When he makes a pass at Petal and she turns him down because she's gay, he is perfectly accepting of it and says he won't tell anyone if she's still in the closet (which she isn't).
- After the above encounter, he and Petal both encourage Zac to tell Kayleigh about his feelings for her.
- Shirtless Scene: He gets a few of these.
Jenna
Played By: Eleanor Bennett
- Alpha Bitch: She is very much a standoffish, popular girl type in Season One. After being mind controlled by Amber, she becomes the closest she has to a Beta Bitch (alongside Kayleigh, though she is much nicer and friendlier). In Season Two, she is more of a Lovable Alpha Bitch, having much of her attitude from the previous season but being more caring and loyal towards the other former campers.
- Fake Relationship: Her boyfriend Stefan, who she sometimes brags about during Season One, turns out to just be some guy she made out with at a party and who didn't call her back afterwards.
- Hidden Depths: In Season Two, she turns out to be an experienced outdoorsperson. Also, she becomes surprisingly good at absorbing Harry's research about the island.
Luka
Played By: Max Lohan
A stranger who secretly lives on the island.- Crazy Survivalist: He lives off the land, having set up a camp in the woods.
- Dark and Troubled Past: He was a petty criminal when he was younger and fled to Peregrine Island to escape arrest for a car accident he caused that seemingly killed his best friend.
- Jerkass: Very curt and unhelpful to Mia, only helping when he gets something in return, and even then he's pretty unpleasant.
- Troll: He gets a kick out of talking about his and Mia's budding attraction to each other to Dev, her actual love interest.
- Mysterious Past: In Season One, he flat out refuses to reveal exactly why he is hiding on the island, other than that he's doing it to avoid prison.
Midge (SPOILERS)
Midge
Played By: Indianna Ryan
A mysterious girl who attended the camp the previous year and died during it in an accident.- Goth: Downplayed, but she is pretty sullen and is always seen wearing predominantly black clothes.
- Purple Is Powerful: When her powers really get going, her eyes glow purple. Her black clothes also typically have purple details in Season Two.
- Teleportation: Her animosine powers are shown to enable her to teleport herself and others; in one instance, she uses them to transport Mia out of the Institute.
- We Used to Be Friends: She and Mia were close friends when they were younger, but they grew apart when Mia transferred to a different school and became pretty and popular. When they met again at the camp, Mia didn't even remember her and deliberately shut her out of any activities she did.
- Woobie, Destroyer of Worlds: As her powers grow, her feelings of resentment towards Mia, her mother and her circumstances turn her increasingly dark.
Supporting
Dave
Played By: Cian Barry
One of the camp's two counselors.- Brainwashed and Crazy: He gets pretty unhinged after Amber starts controlling him, destroying all the phones on the island and burning files related to Midge.
- Demoted to Extra: He only makes one appearance in Season Two.
- Misplaced Kindergarten Teacher: His leading style sometimes feels better suited for younger campers.
Mags
Played By: Nneka Okoye
One of the camp's two counselors.- The Mole: She actually works for the people behind the animosine research.
- For Science!: Tries to justify the studying of Amber and effectively using the campers as guinea pigs by talking about what a scientific advancement the animosine would be.
- What Happened to the Mouse?: It's unknown what happened to her after the end of the first season, with no appearance and only one mention in the second season.
- Women Are Wiser: She has a more sensible approach to counselor work than Dave does.
Fitz
Played By: Byron Easmon
An environmentalist who joins the group on their secret trip to the island in Season Two.- Connected All Along: He was Luka's friend before he fled to the island, and was believed by him to have been killed in the car accident he caused.
- Covered with Scars: His back is shown to have a lot of scars on it.
Dr. Shaw
Played By: Finty Williams
A doctor at the Lockwell Institute in charge of the monitoring and testing of the quarantined Camp Peregrine campers.- Anti-Villain: Her experiments and involvement in the experiments with animosine, questionable as they may be, are all ultimately motivated by wanting to save her daughter's life.
Sam
Played By: Dylan Brady
A man at the Lockwell Institute who befriends Midge.- Dead All Along: He is actually a kind of ghost kept in that state by the animosine at the island.
- Morality Pet: Even after things start going wrong and Midge starts using her powers more, he is one of the people to whom she is consistently nice.
