Date of Birth: December 24
Age: 51
Team: Attackers
Squad: Keres Legion

A former member of Team Rainbow, he was initially revealed in Year 8 as the mastermind behind the thefts of NIGHTHAVEN's weapons and the rise of criminal activity across the world. This ultimately proved to be a ruse: his real goal is to lure Rainbow out in the open and kill its members one by one, starting with the current Rainbow Six, Harry.

Formally added into the game's roster in Operation: Deadly Omen, Deimos can deploy DeathMARK drones that allow him to track any revealed Defender on the map, at the cost of revealing his location, whom he then has to hunt down with his custom scoped revolver.
  • Bad Boss: He has a casual disregard for his people's lives and he won't hesitate to kill them if it suits his purposes:
    • In "Brava's Interception", when Deimos makes his escape from the cargo plane, he pulls the cargo lever despite the fact that it sends some of his own men flying to their doom.
    • In "Fenrir's Chemical Formula", Deimos locks some of his scientists in a lab and tests an unstable version of Fenrir's hallucinogen on them, causing them to kill each other in a rage-induced frenzy. All this, just to see the chemical's effects on humans.
  • Big Bad: As of Year 8 he's the main antagonist of Siege.
  • Broken Pedestal: His bio mentions that Gerald Morris was championed after his supposed death as one of the pinnacle members of Team Rainbow's mission, with many subsequent Operators considering him, alongside his peers in the "old guard", as the ideal counter-terrorism professional. When they find out that Deimos is in fact Gerald Morris after his detainment, it causes a lot of tension to run amok between Team Rainbow.
  • Canon Character All Along: After spending the entirety of Year 8 as an enigmatic figure, he is later revealed to be none other than Gerald Morris, one of the demolition operators that could be fitted into your squad during the original Rainbow Six trilogy developed by Red Storm Entertainment.
  • Continuity Nod: Deimos' bio lists as relevant experience Operation Mystic Tiger, Operation Zero Gambit and Operation Steel Rose, the respective final missions of the first three games in the series.
  • Enemy Mine: Despite everything he did in Year 8, including causing the death of the previous Six—Harry—they are forced to consider aligning interests with him and conscripting him as an Operator again to make him far more agreeable to revealing the truth of The Conspiracy of a larger enemy more dangerous than him and his Keres Legion, which has caused no end of infighting among the operators within Rainbow if this is the right course of action.
  • Face–Heel Turn: As Gerald Morris, he used to be a dedicated operator who fought against terrorists across the globe until, one day, he snapped from feeling like no matter what they accomplished, they were paying lip service to uncaring governments and political agendas rather than solving the real issues that led to chaos, leading to the death of Daniel Bogart in the process of his defection from Team Rainbow. Nowadays, he serves as the ruthless head of the Keres Legion, a terrorist faction in its own right, seeking to cause catastrophic damage not only to Team Rainbow but governments across the world for his own ends.
  • Fair-Play Villain: To balance the DeathMARK singling out a Defender with Caveira-style wallhacks, only Deimos can see the tracker and the marked Defender also receives periodic pings on Deimos's location. Deimos is also restricted to his pistol for the duration of the hunt, but that doesn't stop Deimos from relaying that intelligence to his teammates over voice chat while staying a safe distance away.
  • Faking the Dead: He's officially listed as KIA in the old Team Rainbow's records. Of course, this was just a ploy for him to hide under the radar and resurface years later as "Deimos".
  • Fallen Hero: Once part of Team Rainbow sworn to fighting evil, Deimos is now one of the most dangerous terrorists the unit has ever faced.
  • Genius Bruiser: While Team Rainbow has no shortage of exceptional individuals in this regard, Deimos back when he was Gerald Morris held an incredible amount of accolades including publishing a thesis called "Applications of Micro-stress Analysis in Accelerant Identification" that is considered a landmark in explosives forensics, which is still in circulation and currently read to this day seeing how it can be found on several maps.
  • Hand Cannon: He wields a custom-made .44 magnum revolver as his sidearm called the .44 Vendetta. The revolver doubles as a Sniper Pistol since it comes equipped with a custom scope, which is handy since Deimos is restricted to this weapon whenever he uses his ability.
  • Hero Killer: He shoots Harry in the heart, killing him instantly. Deimos also intends to kill the rest of Rainbow - so far, he has seriously injured Thermite, Sledge, Zofia, Caveira, and Ash (who was put into a coma).
    • And, in 2012, he killed Daniel Bogart, another operator from the old days, during a mission that led to Deimos going AWOL.
  • Knight of Cerebus: Big time. Not only does he kill Harry, but his arrival marks the point where the game finally has a concrete and defined antagonist with non-nebulous goals.
  • Malevolent Masked Man: He wears a sinister-looking black ballistic mask, not at all different from the ones worn by the Wolves in Ghost Recon Breakpoint.
  • Manipulative Bastard: He engineered Team Rainbow's actions against NIGHTHAVEN by stealing the PMC's weaponry and arming criminals with them to commit heinous crimes, such as Yahata's assassination. This was all just a False Flag Operation to steer Rainbow into action against the wrong enemy, allowing Deimos to isolate and eliminate them once they went after the stolen weapons.
  • Marked to Die: It's kind of in the name. DeathMARK drones provide the live location of the selected target, making them easier to hunt down.
  • Meaningful Name: Deimos is a Greek war god of dread and terror.
  • Old Soldier: He's in his fifties, yet he can still take down some of the best counter-terrorist operatives in the world on his own.
  • Promoted to Playable: He becomes a playable Attacker for Year 9.
  • Rogue Protagonist: As one of the original Rainbow members from the original trilogy developed by Red Storm Entertainment now being a criminal mastermind that opposes Team Rainbow, this applies naturally. May also count as a case of Villain Protagonist, as he is the first terrorist character that is playable in any Rainbow Six game.
  • Scarily Competent Tracker: Much like Jackal, Deimos's ability allows him to hunt down Defenders from anywhere on the map, though the DeathMARKs need a confirmed visual on them first.
  • Villain Respect: He hates what Rainbow has become, declaring it a disgrace to the "apex killers" that used to comprise its ranks. Nevertheless, he admires Harry's courage in the face of certain doom and made sure to give him a quick, dignified death.
Deimos: (after shooting Harry) Yeah, well, I'll tell them you went out swinging.
