Kirby's Dream Café employees
Kirby
The owner of Kirby's Dream Café.
- All-Loving Hero: Not many people would give someone like Magolor a job.
- Benevolent Boss: He treats his employees like a family.
- Beware the Nice Ones: He's a swordsman who knows martial arts.
- Childhood Dream: Owning a coffee shop always was his dream.
- Childhood Friends: With Adeleine.
- Cloud Cuckoolander: When people started spreading rumors that Kirby's heart is made out of cotton candy, he actually checked it out.
- Kindhearted Simpleton: Is a sweet Nice Guy and wants his coffee shop to be small, simple and quaint.
- Nice Guy: To the point people started spreading rumors that Kirby's heart was made out of cotton candy.
- Official Couple: With Ribbon.
- Related in the Adaptation: It's stated All There in the Manual that he and Keeby are brothers. While the two were Ambiguously Related in canon due to Keeby being a Palette Swap of Kirby, nothing else is known about their relationship in canon.
- Weirdness Magnet: As lampshaded by Adeleine:Adeleine: "Does anyone realize how weird our lives are?"
Ribbon
The girl who acts as customer service in the coffee shop and Kirby's girlfriend.
- Beware the Nice Ones: She threw a strong man out a window and scared a super-computer into shut down with a Death Glare.
- Nice Girl: She's just as sweet as Kirby, though she does have a violent side.
- Official Couple: With Kirby.
- The Tease: She likes teasing Kirby about their feelings for each other.
Adeleine
Kirby's cashier and an art student.
- Childhood Friends: With Kirby.
- Only Sane Woman: She's an art student (and the art school is the school you need to be most insane to enter), yet she hangs out with a coffee shop owner that knows swordsmanship, a woman that scared a supercomputer into shutdown and a guy who walks around with smoke bombs, brass knuckles and a shovel.
Magolor
Kirby's mechanic. Once he tried to make his own coffee shop, but he gave up on it.
- The Atoner: He sincerely regrets nearly ruining Kirby's coffee shop.
- Crazy-Prepared: He's always walking around with smoke bombs. Those bombs come in handy when Mecha Knight attacks him.
- Token Evil Teammate: Downplayed, but Kirby does state Magolor is the closest thing they have to a criminal mastermind, and Magolor doesn't mind killing people that cause the coffee shop problems.
Keeby
A founding member and former employee of Kirby's Dream Café.
- Ambiguous Situation: How come he's no longer working at the coffee shop? We do know he's still around and on good terms with Kirby, since he's one of Dedede's protesters. It's revealed in the chapter that shows the timeline before the main events of the story that Keeby was a student in law prior to Zero trying to attack the Cafe, as he graduated by that time, so he likely left to form a lawyer's office.
- Related in the Adaptation: It's stated All There in the Manual that he and Kirby are brothers. While the two were Ambiguously Related in canon due to Keeby being a Palette Swap of Kirby, nothing else is known about their relationship in canon.
Marx
A founding member and former employee of Kirby's Dream Café. He betrayed them during a conflict between Mr. Sun and Mr. Moon.
- The Alcoholic: Every time an accident happened in the first day of Kirby's coffee shop, it happened because of Marx's drink, which contained alcohol. When the coffee shop was set on fire, Kirby banned Marx from drinking in working hours.
- Epic Fail: He's the only employee to ever get fired.
Allies
Mayor Dedede
The mayor of Kirby's town.
- Adaptational Job Change: From king to mayor. Though Meta Knight does refer to him as "King" Dedede once, as an Affectionate Nickname.
- The Atoner: As an apology for nearly ruining the café, Dedede gathers Kirby's friends and has them protest against Haltmann Works Company to buy Kirby time to get the scriptures.
- Benevolent Boss: He's very friendly towards Waddle Dee.
- Jerk with a Heart of Gold: He does have a rivalry with Kirby, but he's a true friend.
- Manchild: It's stated that, extraoficially, he writes fanfiction for his favorite cartoons.
Meta Knight
Dedede's bodyguard and Kirby's mentor.
- Noodle Incident: Once, Kirby put Meta Knight in charge of the coffee shop. While running it, Meta Knight tried to take over all coffee shops in town. (This incident was likely this AU's version of Revenge of Meta Knight.)
Waddle Dee
Dedede's public relations guy.
Dedede's Army
A group of friends of Kirby's that gathered to protest against the coffee shop's destruction.
- The Cameo: The group includes Keeby (see his folder above), Rick, Kine, Coo, Gooey, Pitch, Nago, Chuchu, Elline and possibly Claycia.
President Sectonia
The president of Kirby's country.
- Adaptational Job Change: From queen to president.
- Big Damn Heroes: Invoked by Magolor and Adeleine. Just as Susie started the demolition, Sectonia came in and made Kirby's coffee shop a public landmark.
- The Dreaded: Most political leaders fear her. The only one who ever stood up against her was Kirby. Thankfully, that instance caused a Heel Realization.
Enemies
Susie
The secretary of Haltmann Works Company. Though things turn deeper than that.
- Calling the Old Man Out: "Oh, NOW I'm dear, and not your secretary or errand girl!"
- Didn't Think This Through: Her attempt to compete against Kirby backfires spectacularly.
- Know When to Fold 'Em: She knows better than to stand against President Sectonia.
Max Profitt Haltmann
The president of Haltmann Works Company.
- Daddy Had a Good Reason for Abandoning You: Haltmann tried to make Susie the White Sheep of the family. It backfired horribly.
- Dark and Troubled Past: He was raised to lie and cheat, and nothing he could do could save his wife.
- Graceful Loser: He willingly turns himself in when everything goes downhill for him.
- Idiot Ball: As Kirby points it out:Kirby: "OK, Let Me Get This Straight.... You refused your daughter your money, dismissively sent her to get a job, then gave her a job in your own company, taught her to spy and blackmail, and you DIDN'T expect [her to betray you]?"
Haltmann: "Yes." - Who Names Their Kid "Dude"?: Both the in-universe cast and the author believe "Max Profitt" is a weird name. (The weird part in it is "Profitt"; Max is actually a common name.)
Whispy
A lowlife who is often hired by many bad guys.
- Butt-Monkey
- Curb-Stomp Battle: Is on the receiving end of this, his threats being empty against Magolor.
Defense A.P.I.
A group of villains hired by Susie to try and ruin Kirby's shop.
- Blood Knight: Ice Dragon only agreed to help because he missed fighting Kirby.
- Butt-Monkey: According to Ice Dragon, Kracko is this.
- Freudian Excuse: With the exception of Ice Dragon, they all have one: the Doomers were missing Magolor, Coily Rattler was Sectonia's bodyguard until he was fired because he couldn't stop Kirby from giving Sectonia a "The Reason You Suck" Speech, and Kracko was sick of being Kirby's Butt-Monkey.
Nova (UNMARKED SPOILERS!)
The Big Bad of the fanfiction.
- Manipulative Bastard: He made Mr. Sun and Mr. Moon to fight. He later manipulates Haltmann Works Company into attacking Kirby's coffee shop.
- Sore Loser: He didn't took the failure of his plan with Mr. Sun and Mr. Moon well.
- Walking Spoiler: His existence is only revealed in the penultimate main story chapter.
