Poka from various angles
The sky blue bird is the group's mascot who debuted as an animated character at Hinakuri 2020.

  • Artistic License – Biology: Unlike real-life birds, Poka has a navel.
  • Butt-Monkey: Poka dolls are often thrown around, punched, and otherwise abused in members' photos and livestreams.
  • Character Blog: Poka got its own blog in May 2021 where it chronicles its daily life with the members.
  • Covert Pervert: It often shows rather perverted expressions when promoting the members' photobooks.
  • Egg MacGuffin: Poka was born from a magical egg given by Santa Claus to Akari Nibu in Hinakuri 2019.
  • Everything's Better with Sparkles: It emits a sparkle trail when flying, as seen in the Hinakuri 2020 concert.
    • The CG blue bird in the "Coelacanth" MV also sparkles, which lead fans to believe that it's a realistic rendering of Poka.
  • Friendly Rivalry: Seems to have an uneasy relationship with Shiho Kato.
  • Meaningful Name: The bird's name is presumably taken from poka poka (pleasantly warm) as in the group's catchphrase, but it can also mean "blunder".
  • Otaku: In its debut appearance, Poka declares its support for Nao Kosaka, just like Wakabayashi.
  • Roger Rabbit Effect: As a livestream-only event, the Hinakuri 2020 concert made it possible for the members to interact with an animated Poka, voiced by none other than Hinatazaka de Aimashō co-host Masayasu Wakabayashi.
  • Significant Birth Date: Poka hatched on Christmas 2019 after the in-story Akari Nibu took its egg home and went to sleep.

Niimaru and Muyu
Kyoko Saito's Original Characters. Niimaru was introduced in Hiragana Oshi episode 22 while Muyu was introduced in Hinabingo! season 1 episode 7's original character creation segment.

  • Accidental Art: Niimaru is Kyoko's answer to the episode's question of a tadpole's final form, since she didn't recognize the given illustration as a tadpole and just made up her own creature.
  • Cute Slime Mook: Muyu is a non-antagonistic variant with arms and legs.
  • Evolution Power-Up: According to Kyoko, Muyu is the evolved form of Niimaru which has evolved arms and legs, can speak, and has lost its fins.
  • Pokémon Speak: Muyu's speech is mostly its own name, but it can also form simple sentences.

Mameo and Mami

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/01_72.jpg

A Mame Shiba dog and his owner, who one day gains the ability to talk to dogs. Drafted by Akari Nibu and drawn by Kengo Kurando for an episode of Manga Michi on TV Asahi, a show where professional manga artists draw a story based on drafts by entertainers, and was published as a free one-shot webcomic. It's one of the few mangas created in the TV show to be made into an Animated Adaptation, aired on the same channel and on YouTube, titled Minna no Mameo (Everyone's Mameo).

  • Bilingual Backfire: In the first episode, Mameo complains because his owners aren't rich and can't afford to give him dog treats whenever he wants, unaware that Mami can understand him.
  • David Versus Goliath: The tiny Mameo has won fights against a gang led by a huge Tosa fighting dog, and is rivals with a Dobermann.
  • Ink-Suit Actor: Mami is pretty much Akari Nibu in looks and personality, and was also voiced by her.
  • Scarf of Asskicking: Mameo wears a red scarf and can defeat dogs much larger than him.
  • Speaks Fluent Animal: Mami can talk to all dogs, starting with her own, Mameo.
  • Trademark Favorite Food: Mameo loves Churu dog treats.

Yakyun/Nokyun

A baseball with arms and legs

Haruyo Yamaguchi's Original Character, based on her interest in baseball. Following her appearance in Manga Michi in 2023, was made into an original one-shot webcomic titled Tsukumegami!, in collaboration with manga artist Guntao.

  • Alternate Character Reading: The ya (野 "field") kanji in its name can also be read as no, hence the alternate names.
  • Animate Inanimate Object: It's a living baseball.
  • It Will Never Catch On: Haruyo had wanted to retire the character as it didn't seem to resonate with fans, but ended up using it for her original manga.
  • Meaningful Name: Its name is a portmanteau of yakyuu (baseball) and kyun ("heart skipping a beat", which is, of course, also the title of Hinatazaka46's debut single).

A drawing tablet with takoyaki sauce for beard
The Series Mascot of Hinatazaka Anime Club. Drawn by Yoko Shogenji and backstory written by Honoka Hirao, making him a joint creation of the Genpei War duo.

  • Animate Inanimate Object: He's a drawing tablet with takoyaki sauce for beard, who teaches animation.
  • Punny Name: His name is a mix of "takoyaki" and "tablet".
  • The Unintelligible: His speech is a series of robotic bleeps and buzzes. However, Yoko Shogenji can understand him, thanks to her love of anime. During interviews, his speech is interpreted into on-screen text, and it reveals that being an Osaka native, he speaks in Kansai dialect (also, the show is produced and broadcast by Kansai TV).
