Go To

During the investigation of recent hollers in the Complete Monster thread, it's become apparent to the staff that an insular, unfriendly culture has evolved in the Complete Monster and Magnificent Bastard threads that is causing problems.

Specific issues include:

  • Overzealous hollers on tropers who come into the threads without being familiar with all the rules and traditions of the tropes. And when they are familiar with said rules and traditions, they get accused (with little evidence) of being ban evaders.
  • A few tropers in the thread habitually engage in snotty, impolite mini-modding. There are also regular complaints about excessive, offtopic "socializing" posts.
  • Many many thread regulars barely post/edit anywhere else, making the threads look like they are divorced from the rest of TV Tropes.
  • Following that, there are often complaints about the threads and their regulars violating wiki rules, such as on indexing, crosswicking, example context and example categorization. Some folks are working on resolving the issues, but...
  • Often moderator action against thread regulars leads to a lot of participants suddenly showing up in the moderation threads to protest and speak on their behalf, like a clique.

It is not a super high level problem, but it has been going on for years and we cannot ignore it any longer. There will be a thread in Wiki Talk to discuss the problem; in the meantime there is a moratorium on further Complete Monster and Magnificent Bastard example discussion until we have gotten this sorted out.

Update: The new threads have been made and can be found here:

IMPORTANT: To avoid a holler to the mods, please see here for the earliest date a work can be discussed, (usually two weeks from the US release), as well as who's reserved discussion.

When voting, you must specify the candidate(s). No blanket votes (i.e. "[tup] to everyone I missed").

No plagiarism: It's fair to source things, but an effortpost must be your own work and not lifted wholesale from another source.

We don't care what other sites think about a character being a Complete Monster. We judge this trope by our own criteria. Repeatedly attempting to bring up other sites will earn a suspension.

What is the Work

Here you briefly describe the work in question and explain any important setting details. Don't assume that everyone is familiar with the work in question.

Who is the Candidate and What have they Done?

This will be the main portion of the Effort Post. Here you list all of the crimes committed by the candidate. For candidates with longer rap sheets, keep the list to their most important and heinous crimes, we don't need to hear about every time they decide to do something minor or petty.

Do they have any Mitigating Factors or Freudian Excuse?

Here you discuss any potential redeeming or sympathetic features the character has, the character's Freudian Excuse if they have one, as well as any other potential mitigating factors like Offscreen Villainy or questions of moral agency. Try to present these as objectively as possible by presenting any evidence that may support or refute the mitigating factors.

Do they meet the Heinousness Standard?

Here you compare the actions of the Candidate to other character actions in the story in order to determine if they stand out or not. Remember that all characters, not just other villains, contribute to the Heinousness Standard

Final Verdict?

Simply state whether or not you think the character counts or not.

  • Digimon World Data Squad: Lucemon is The Man Behind the Man for both Tsukasa Kagura and Creepymon. The king of the Dark Area and the Chao-Mao Digimon, he's orchestrated everything in the plot by manipulating Kagura's feelings of jealousy to do whatever it took to revive himself. Through him, Lucemon made sure five children throughout the world were merged with one of the Code Keys of the Seven Deadly Sins to create Mao Digimon (The Great Demon Lords). He also has Creepymon attack Kosaburo Katsura and Biyomon to retrieve the Code Keys he's attained. After Creepymon assaults DATS HQ but is defeated, it's revealed Creepymon was made of a former DATS member Masaki Nitta, who was aware of his situation but unable to spot himself, and cannot go back to being human, essentially dying as data before his daughter. When Kagura finally releases the seal on Lucemon, he betrays Kagura and tells him how he deceived the scientist. After absorbing Kagura, Code of Key of Pride himself, Lucemon flees, but not before spreading the influence of the Dark Area. An evil Digimon who deemed himself infinite, immortal, and absolute, Lucemon is a remorseless Omnicidal Maniac who desired to engulf everything in the Dark Area.

To the drafts, I know.

Alright, this one is going to be challenging... Sorry for the lenght but I really need to elaborate about the moral standard.

What's the work ?

Murena is an ongoing Belgian historical comic book series written by Jean Dufaux and illustrated by the late Phillipe Delaby which follows the lives of infamous emperor Nero and his fictional friend-turned-enemy patrician Lucius Murena. Murena whose mother has been murdered by Nero's mother Agrippina seeks revenge while Nero initially goes in great length to cover her crimes.

Only 9 out of the planned 16 books are currently published but my candidate died in the last book "The Thorns" that came out in 2014 and since it’s a realistic setting, he’s not expected to come back.

Who is he ?

Massam is a cruel and brutal gladiator who serves as Balba's nemesis and Nero's Psycho for Hire. His principal distinction among his pairs is that he NEVER spare his opponents, not even when the host raises his thumb. After seeing Balba fighting, he develops an obsession because he knows he would be a great challenge.

What does he do ?

"Of Blood and Sand": Massam's Establishing Character Moment occurs when Numidian gladiator Balba seeks the training of the Gladiator School lead by Bacchus Soroctos in order to better protect his master Britannicus (Nero's half-brother). In a cell, Massam rapes one of his fellow gladiator. The poor guy begs him to stop. Massam tells him that everyone else will take their turn but then kills him instead. When Balba gets close to the cell, Massam – still naked – yells at him that he wants to eat his flesh because he never tasted black meat before. Soroctos informs Balba that Massam is his best fighter. Even though he killed two of his trainers, he got away with it because he earns lot of money. That's it. Massam only appears in one page but he already shows what kind of guy he is.

"The Best of Mothers": Balba still under the training of Soroctos after the death of Britannicus, defeats a Thracian opponent. Massam loudly encourages Balba to finish the loser but Balba refuses and spares him. Pissed off, Massam himself beheads the spared fighter when the Numidian leaves. The sadistic gladiator throws the head at Balba when he's eating in the canteen, tells him he had to "finish the job" and leaves laughing. Furious, Balba fall in hatred with Massam.

The Poet Petronius hosts a gladiator fight and choses Soroctos' best fighter. Massam, proving how brave he is, choses Proyas, an inexperienced teenager who also happens to be Balba's friend, as his adversary. The boy gives a little resistance but is unfortunately no match for the cruel fighter. Petronius judging Proyas defended himself well, raises his thumb to let him live. Massam screams "My name is Massam! And Massam only obey to Massam!" before piercing Proyas wih a trident. Irrate, Petronius wants the head of the undisciplined warrior but Soroctos defends that he can't do that since he's his champion.

Babla challenges the one who just killed his friend and beats him. Just as he was about to kill Massam, the guards arrive and Balba is forced to spare him but still stabs his hand.

Much later, Massam makes himself a metal glove with a great big spike in it covering his ruined hand. For some reason, said glove disappears two books later.

"Those Who Are About to Die...": Massam only appears at the end when Emperor Nero choses him as his personal champion.

"The Black Goddess": Massam is so successful that his price raises at 20 000 sesterces. He's first shown fighting at the house of daughter's senator. The host raises his thumb to spare Massam's opponent but as usual, he doesn't care and kills him anyway. When the daughter's senator asks him what he wants for a reward, he asks her to feed his hungry pet panther with her fat histrion (stage actor). Being a heartless bitch, she accepts laughing and orders the histrion to be put on a spit and roasted.

After that, Nero's wife Poppaea Sabina who witnessed the fight proposes to sleep with him in exchange to be in her service. Massam accepts knowing she won't tell anything to her husband.

Nero, humiliated after losing a chariot race to a woman, learns from prefect Tigellinus that a man named Proctus saw her. Nero accompanied with Massam enters the inn and finds Proctus busy with a young male prostitute. Massam grabs the boy without any provocation and throws him into the fireplace. Nero orders Proctus to tell what he knows about the mysterious quadriga driver if he doesn't want to share the fate of his giton. Proctus reveals that the woman was accompanied with a Numidian gladiator. Massam recognizes Balba.

"The Blood of Animals": Rumors rises among the people that Nero killed his half-brother Britanicus (which in this series is false). Massam finds a graffiti "Remember Britanicus" and asks who did it. A witness reveals that a woman did it with a child and that the child's father is currently at the public latrine. Guessing the woman is the driver Nero is looking for, Massam enter the latrine, grabs the man and threatens to choke him in his own feces. After the guy reveals that he saw the woman and Balba at the Cloaca Maxima (a sewer), the brute kills him anyway. Surrounded by disapproving looks, he screams at the bystanders "You all belong to me, you hear! I can break you, force you to crawl at my feet because I am Massam, Caesar's favorite, Massam the undefeated!". The Hero Lucius Murena tells him he's lying because he personally witnessed Balba defeating him (see above "The Best of Mothers"). The gladiator swears to cut Balba's heart out with his teeth.

At night, Massam investigates the sewer with two men. Warned by his friend Murena, Balba kills the two guys before facing Massam. The latter is about to kill him but he's rescued by Evix (the female quadriga driver) and Massam distracted gets stabbed in the back by Balba who leaves him for dead…

Unfortunately, he's not. He's rescued by fishermen and when Poppaea visits him, she shows no compassion and advises the butcher-improvised-doctor to slit his throat if he can't recover.

"Life of Fires": A fully recovered Massam informs the emperor that Vestal Virgin Rubria gave shelter to his ennemy Murena so Nero decides to gang rape her with Massam and centurion Ruffalo. After Nero ravishes her virginity, Massam gladly takes his turn while Ruffalo being the Toke Good Teammate refuses to participate. After everyone leaves the room, Massam grabs Rubria's maid - who was hiding the whole time behind a curtain - by the throat and tells her that if someone wants to avenge the priestess they has to meet him at a restaurant. Virginity being everything for a Vestal, Rubria kills herself soon after.

Murena is disappointed to see Murena coming alone because he wanted a rematch with his rival Balba. After boasting about what he and Nero did to the poor girl, he gets beats beaten by the hero. Some people intervene so Murena burns the house to prevent Massam from leaving. Unfortunately, this night being very hot, the fire spreads across the whole city causing the infamous Great Fire Of Rome. Nice Job Breaking It, Hero indeed. Massam just leaves with a We Will Meet Again.

"Revenge of the Ashes": The great Pontiff l publicly claims that the fire was a divine retribution for the rape of Rubria by Nero. Caesar then tasks Massam to "silence" the old guy. Massam finds his target praying in the ruins of the temple. He tells the guy "It isn't the gods who caused this fire, you moron, but us!" before stabbing him.

"The Thorns": A drunk Massam boasts about having caused the fire. Centurion Ruffalo asks him later if it's true. The gladiator reveals that it's actually Murena who caused it in his fight with him. He adds that he will sell that information to Popaea, who wants to protect her Jew friends, again lots of money and concludes "I've always known that I would build my fortune on ruins". Ruffalo, indebt in Murena who rescued his daughter, decides Massam has to die in order to protect him.

Balba finally confront Massam who lets him chose his weapons before fighting in an arena. When Balba almost kills him, Massam throws sand at his opponent and orders his servant to sick off his panther on the Numudian. Balba pierces his nemesis with a trident before the pantera attacks him. Ruffalo, who came to kill Massam, rescues Balba but sadly the Numidian warrior succumbs from his wounds. At least Massam is dead. Good riddance.

Mitigating Factor

Nada, zero redeeming feature. I elaborate if you insist. Massam's "loyalty" to Caesar is the same nature than Gregor's "loyalty" to the Lannisters: it simply allows him to kill and get away with any punishment. The fact that he slept with the Empress (albeit with her consent for once) proves that he has no respect for his master. As for Popaea herself, she hates Massam and only sleeps with him to manipulate him. She's completely indifferent when he’s agonizing after Balba left him for death. And Massam doesn't feel anything for her neither.

Being denied of freedom (at least before becoming Nero's champion) and forced to fight for his life should be a Freudian Excuse but Massam enjoys every second of it.

Heiniousness

Here we go…

I'm not gonna lie - and you probably guess it anyway- the moral standard is very high. It's a story about one of the most infamous emperor after all. Deliberate Vallues Dissonance is in full play: everyone enjoys watching gladiators fighting to death and no one including the most sympathetic characters see anything wrong with that. The Establishing Series Moment is emperor Claudius ordering to slit the throats of the injured fighters saying they are worthless and about to sentences the winner Balba to death for defying him before his son Britannicus convinces him to let Balba live. Yet Claudius is still among the nicest characters beyond that.

This along with the fact that Anyone Can Die, that most of the events are Foregone Conclusion if you know history, Darkness-Induced Audience Apathy naturally ensues. That being said they are clear cut good guys: Murena, Petronius, Barba, Britannicus, Acte, Evix and Ruffio. The series has a cohesive plot so it's not senseless grimdark.

I anticipate your question: No, Nero, as much as a prick with a god complex he is, doesn't remotely count. If anything, the series actually does some Historical Hero Upgrade. He's portrayed as innocent of most crimes he's accused of. Agrippina killed Claudius on her own volition. Britannicus died of an aneurism. Nero's first wife Claudia Octavia he sentenced to death in real life is conveniently Adapted Out. Despite all the Foreshadowing, the burning of Rome was an accident and at one point Nero rescues a woman. As for the persecution of Christians, Nero is initially against it and only allows the executions of Christians after his entourage pressures him and convinces him to end the rumors about Nero causing it and that doing so would prevent a revolt. And even after that, the emperor still refuses to watch the executions with the Romans. Besides he genuinely saddened over the death of his aunt, his daughter and has some remorse over killing his mother. He also befriends the Apostle Peter of all people and advises him to leave the city. Peter refuses because he thinks he must pay for denying Jesus. That being said, his worst Kick the Dog's include framing a guy for the murder of Murena's mother and have him and his household killed, ordering a soldier to kill himself for failing to kill Agrippina, forcing his ex-girlfriend Acte to marry a centurion in hope that she will die soon because she had the audacity of finding love again after he dumped her, hunting for a woman who defeated him at a chariot race, and of course the gang rape of Rubria.

Quick review of other bad guys:

Agrippina: She's really awful and the closest thing to a Big Bad for the first four books. Her Establishing Character Moment is drowning a maid who accidentally hurt her while dressing her hair. She murders Murena's mother because she was Claudius' lover and later poisons Claudius because he intended to divorce her, marry Murena's mother and making Britannicus his heir instead of Nero. She later tries to poison the young Britannicus and also frames her sister-in-law for treason. Oh and her accomplice Locust experiments her poisons on slaves. Her plan is to rule Rome using her son as a puppet and cares little of how much pain she inflicts him. However, I'm not comfortable about proposing her for two reasons: 1) as the Emperor's wife and later Emperor's mother, she as more resources than Massam 2) She gets a Alas, Poor Villain death or at least something close. When soldiers sent by Nero sick of her schemes to kill her, she faces her fate with dignity and her last words are "my son…" which implies that she might regret how things went between them.

Draxius: a Gladiator who works for Agrippina. Yeah, he's basically to her what Massam is for Nero. He's the one who personally killed Murena's mother. While undoubtly an asshole, he contents to follow orders and pales compared to my candidate.

Pallas: A rich emancipated slave who sexually exploits and abuses Acte. Initially Agripinna's accomplice in the murder of Claudius, he turns against her by convincing Britannicus to claim the title of emperor. Still doesn't compare to Massam.

Poppaea Sabina: a great Manipulative Bitch. She's the one who suggests Nero to punish Acte. However she suddenly becomes more sympathetic in the last two books. She's sad over the death of her daughter and tries her best to protect her Jew friends from the persecutions.

Cervarix: A druid who fights roman occupations, disfugured Evix and performs human sacrifices to the celtic gods. Most of it though is Offscreen Villainy and he only appears in a few pages.

Tibelinus: He's Nero's evil adviser and the one who has the idea to frame the Christians hoping to get their properties. Still alive as of book 9, he's on my "wait and see" list.

Verdict

Considering Massam has almost no resources, Kick the Dog in every single of his appearances, never shows sympathy, I'm inclined to think he's the worst character in this series. I'll let you judge.

Massam sounds a yes. Skeptical on Kagari because to be quite frank, revenge against someone for the death of your surrogate mother sounds like a pretty valid motivation regardless of whether or not grief is involved. Going to say "no" to her.

For Kagari...Tsubaki is her surrogate mother, no? You're sure she didn't love her? Because that seems a bit hard to get past.

Yea to Massam

She did, at least when she was still taking care of her and Matsuri. Her vendetta began when she saw Suzune wearing the bell pouch that previously belonged to Tsubaki, who had just gone missing by that point. She also does wish Suzune to suffer the way Tsubaki did, even though she knows (from Kyubey) that Tsubaki had brought upon her own demise by neglecting her Soul Gem in favor of Suzune's. She is pissed at Suzune mainly for causing Tsubaki to choose her instead of them as her new surrogate child, but she is never shown to do anything like looking tearfully at old photos of Tsubaki or other such things to remind her of their time together. For all we're shown, she could just as easily have come to hate Tsubaki too for having left them behind with barely any idea of what was really going on, just like she had with Matsuri, whom she also formerly loved, for having befriended Suzune. The only thing that would rule that out would be if Madoka brought Tsubaki's spirit along with her following her wish at the end of the anime and Kagari actually does feel remorse when Tsubaki expresses shame for her.

I have a proposal from the comic The Strange Talent of Luther Strode.

Background:

This comic is about a scrawny nerd named Luther Strode who receives a book that teaches The Hercules Method, and grants incredible strength and powers to those who read it. The book has been used for thousands of years, primarily by a cult formed by Cain, who believe murder to be a holy act. I'll talk more about them in the mitigating factors section.

Who is he? What does he do?:

Our old friend Jack the Ripper! In this comic, Cain's superpowered cult decided that they were at risk as technology around them increased, and to protect their secret, many of them were willfully bound. However, some were unwilling to bind themselves, so a man known as the Binder would hunt them down to, well, bind them. The serial killer Jack was one of these unwilling people, who was described as being more interested in hurting people than killing them.

In present day, the Binder lets Jack free in order to help fight against Luther, something he only agrees to do because the Binder threatens to put him back in the box. Jack disembowels a young crime boss and tries to kill Luther and his girlfriend. When the Binder is injured by an explosive, Jack takes the opportunity to kill him.

Jack, now free, then goes to a packed mall and absolutely butchers (NSFW) hundreds of the people inside, mutilating them and making sculptures with their bodies. When Luther and his girlfriend Petra arrive at the mall, they find that not one person had actually been killed. They had been horrifically mutilated and left for dead, but Jack was content to leave them barely alive without finishing them off and ending their pain.

Jack and Luther fight while Petra finds the survivors who had hidden themselves away and leads them out of the mall, enraging Jack, who wanted to have more fun with them. Jack then tries to kill Luther and taunts him over how he's going to kill Petra. Then he's cut in half with a chainsaw.

Are there any mitigating factors?

The only mitigating factor is the very high heinous standard. Luther Strode is an ultraviolent comic, and many of the other readers of the Hercules Method are psychotic Blood Knights as well. However, every character but Jack has some sort of disqualifying factor, be it that they're honorable, have loved ones, aren't heinous enough, redeem themselves or are outright Anti-Heroes. Jack has the worst onscreen actions, and they're against innocent civilians. He's also unique in that he leaves his victims for dead, drawing out their pain.

Conclusion:

Even with the high heinous standard of the comic, I feel that Jack stands out. I say [tup].

I was so focused on getting Sliske's effort post and write up done I almost forgot that one sentence needs to be changed in Amascut's write up to reflect new information that also came with the Sliske finale. Below is the current sentence and the new one is below that.

Born to the Menaphite gods Tumeken and Elidinis, Amascut was the goddess of rebirth and worked alongside her brother Icthlarin to shepard the dead to the afterlife.

Once merely the pet cat of the Menaphite gods Tumeken and Elidinis, Amascut was the goddess of rebirth and worked alongside her brother Icthlarin to shepard the dead to the afterlife.

Massam is a lucky bastard. For him letting Balba choses his weapons, I suppose it's because he wants a fair fight since he sees him as a rival. I also think he's confident since he has been successfully fighting for years. I don't think it's disqualifier because he unleashes his panthera when Balba is about to win.

Now I checked out this video game movie Red Faction: Origins, which is canonical to the games and set between the third game Guerilla and fourth game Armageddon. The film was released to coincide with the release of Armageddon.

Quick recap of Guerrilla, the plot focuses on Alec Mason, who arrived on Mars to join his brother, and ends up caught up in a revolution against the Earth Defence Force. There are two civilizations on Mars; the colonists and a mutant outcast group called the marauders, which don't get along very well, but with Alec and his marauder love interest Samanya help, peace is made between them and the EDF is overthrown and the days is won.

This movie gives them a Happy Ending Override.

The Big Bad of the film is named Stroller, the leader of White Faction, a secret terrorist organization created from the remnants of the EDF.

Fifteen years prior to the film, the White Faction had an influenza problem with the threat of population collapse. The solution was to kidnap children and raise them to be their soldiers, with Stroller having a particular target in mind. Alec and Samanya have since married and had two children in Jake, the films protagonist and Lyra Mason. As a child, Jake witnesses Stroller and his men break into their home, and killed Samanya, but not before Samanya stabs Stroller in the eye. Jake managed to escape but Lyra was abducted. Marauders where blamed for the attack, escalating tension between them and the colonists, and no one believed Jake when he tried to explain what he saw with Lyra believed dead.

Fast forward to the films present, where Jake is now an officer for the Red Faction and has risen to the ranks of lieutenant, and Alec a sullen retired man who began drinking to cope with the loss of his wife and daughter. Jake and several other officers are sent on a mission to recover technology from the destroyed EDF warship Hydra, which recently crashed out of orbit on the border between the marauders and colonists. They discover the marauder but have been killed by White Faction soldiers. Alec corners one and starts a fight before ripping of the soldier's mask to discover its Lyra, who then flees. When Jake and his team return, no one believes him of Lyra being alive and the marauders blame the colonists for their dead.

Jake decided to investigate his sisters sudden appearance and goes deserter into the marauders territory, joined by Tess De La Vega, a Red Faction technician expert, who wants to recover more technology. Jake runs into two marauders, Corvallis and his nephew Leo, who he befriends reluctantly. They soon find the White Faction base after Tess steals some tracking codes and they discover its hidden around Teraformers, which keep the atmosphere stable and also has a disrupt radar hiding the White Faction ship. The White Faction also steal a "Firework" which is part of the nuclear reactor for the White Faction dreadnought. Jake and Tess sneak aboard the base but are quickly captured. Jake and Lyra properly meet and Lyra confront Stroller about it. As it turns out, Stroller tricked Lyra into believing her family dead and he saved her in order to raise her as a White Faction soldier. Lyra isn't sure who she believes. Stroller has a private conversation with The Dragon, Adam Hale, who would go on to become the human antagonist of Armageddon and is close with Lyra. Stroller tells Hale the truth of how they where taking children to repopulate their ranks, and explains that Lyra was specifically picked because she was Alec Mason's daughter.

Jake and Tess manage to escape, and head back to the Red Faction Capital Eos, but as they do so, Stroller had the dreadnought activated and launches short an attack, killing Eos civilians. When Stroller asks how many where killed, Hale replies "As much as we need". Because of ammunition shells found in the aftermath, the White Faction successfully frame the marauders for the attack and the Red Faction declares war. Jake tries to reveal the truth to the Red Faction but is arrested for being a deserter and treason.

Stroller prepares the dreadnought to make an attack on a marauder city, but Jake and Alec manage to escape with the help of Corvallis and Leo, taking Alec's ship to the dreadnought. In Lyra's room, Lyra finds herself looking at old photos of her family from when she was a child. Stroller spots Jake and co aboard the dreadnought and jumps to the conclusion that Lyra is secretly helping them. Stroller makes his way to Lyra's room, as does Jake. Stroller attempts to stab Lyra himself before he begins to choke her, before Jake enters the room and a scrap ensues between him and Stroller. In this fight, Stroller is beaten, stabbed a couple of times and gets his arm broken, but still has enough strength to try to choke Lyra. Jake manages to hold Stroller back and Lyra stabs him to death with his own knife.

Hale is quick to pull a Dragon Ascendent while Jake and Lyra make their escape and Lyra and Alec are reunited for the first time in years. Unfortunately the best shot they have to stoping the dreadnought's attack is to crash their own ship into the dreadnought as it goes nuclear. Alec lands his children and their friends a safe distance before taking his ship himself, taking out the Dreadnought in a Heroic Sacrifice, saying goodbye to his son and daughter over the radio. The film end with peace between the colonists and marauders once again in peace with Jake planning leading the new Red Faction with them and leading Lyra home again for the first time in years.

As far as redeeming qualities or a Freudian Excuse goes, Stroller is the leader of a terrorist group made what's left of the EDF, which previously held a dictatorship over mars. His reasoning for abducting children is to add more to his ranks due to the threat of population collapse. The reason he had Lyra specifically as well is because she was the daughter of two main figure heads in the second Martian Revolution. To him it was a reckoning, to make her a soldier for his cause, to make her believe her family dead and place himself as a father figure. He tells Lyra he watched her grow in pride, and of course tries to kill her himself when he thinks she's helping her family. With Adam Hale, it seems to be the basic Big Bad and The Dragon relationship but with Hale under his wing, Stroller tells Hale it's because he knew his father. That said, there's the implication he his manipulating him as well considering his tract record with Lyra and presumably the other children he abducted. When Lyra and Hale briefly confront each other, Lyra tells him that their lives under Stroller where all lies.

As with the Heinous standard, with Axel Capek, who is responsible for countless deaths For Science!, and Luscious Kobel, who has a plan for total genocide as a solution for a revolution, what does Stroller bring to the table ? Stroller has been abducting children to be raised as soldiers for his cause. Throughout the film, he is planning mass murder through a series of False Flag Operations and trying to orchestrate a war between two groups on Mars. I'd say he's pretty bad.

"It's like...a cliff, and if I do it, I'm just gonna...fall." "I think we're already falling."

Finally had the chance to do that McLeach rewrite.

  • The Rescuers Down Under: Percival C. McLeach is one of the few humans in the series who seems to be aware that the animals are sapient. This does not stop him from, in his own words, "tearing off their hides" to make a living. When Kid Hero Cody interferes with one of McLeach's operations, the poacher kidnaps him and using him as bait to lure the eagle Marahute into his clutches; he subsequently instructs his monitor lizard sidekick, Joanna, to devour the eagle's eggs, rendering the species rarer and thus more valuable. When the Rescuers visit McLeach's hideout they find he is keeping three talking animals prisoner, intending to turn them all into luxury goods; McLeach himself is observed giving orders to Frank the Frilled Lizard, confirming that he knows they can understand him. When Cody proves too much trouble, McLeach tries feed him to crocodiles, only to be swept over the waterfall himself, while the much abused Joanna looks on.

How's that?
