LET THE SLAUGHTER BEGIN!

WARNING: MASSIVE SPOILERS AHEAD!

Take the Hunger Games Simulator. Get a bunch of people from an erotic roleplaying site (F-List, to be specific) to contribute. Turn the whole thing into a crazy romp in fanfic form. Oh, and don't forget to make it a huge case of Porn with Plot. Put that all together and what do you get? This series on FurAffinity (and later Archive of Our Own).

The plot of each Episode runs as follows. 12 teams of four (a whopping 48) are sent to a strange Arena where they all have to survive until there's only one of them left alive. Throughout the whole thing, either they kill each-other or are subjected to the many randomized horrors of what amounts to an enclosed Death World. And god help you if you're chosen to return once more for another episode... To boot, aphrodisiac is pumped throughout and there's a good chance that the hidden sexual urges of those that can consent are turned up to eleven.

Following the destruction of the original Arena in the first season finale, the format through a bit of a Retool in the second season: Most episodes now had a theme, with the characters chosen for an episode had to tie into it. In addition, each episode their own unique Arena for that episode.

Aside from 2 whole 12-episode seasons and a third one in progress, there's also side-stories and Q&As for the winners that are made in-between. The Author has also requested feedback on the series to give it a boost, usually in the form of good comments. The folder for the entire series can be found here (requires a FurAffinity account and it's NOT safe for work!).

It can also now be read on Archive of Our Own.

Tropes:

  • Achievements in Ignorance: In episode 31 Dave Johnson manages to complete the first track of the race, albeit in last place, while driving backwards trying to turn on the radio.
  • Adaptational Sexuality: A LOT of characters (usually the females) will have their sexualities changed to be either bi or gay, despite lacking any interest in the same/both genders in their respective canons.
  • A Day in the Limelight: The side-stories are made to capitalize on this, often focusing on the winners and how they're doing, though there are exceptions.
  • A Death in the Limelight: During the Arenas themselves, characters, especially returnees, can be given quite the amount of focus, before being killed off later.
  • All Gays are Promiscuous: Downplayed, as it usually takes a heaping dose of aphrodisiac per the usual. Still, this applies to the more homosexually inclined characters (given their source, material usually, it's inevitable).
  • All Girls Want Bad Boys: Several cases show the girls getting it on with people that are usually villains where they come from. It doesn't get any more apparent when one of the romantic leads is MEGATRON HIMSELF.
  • All or Nothing: First place will receive a wish to make for whatever they want with no drawbacks. Any placement below that will most likely receive a brutal death.
  • All There In Themanual: An entire Side-Story is dedicated to explaining the Transformers timeline in this continuity, with it describing each Transformers' backstory, whose side they're on, where they are now, and what they're currently doing.
  • All Women Are Lustful: This IS a porn fic. This was gonna happen.
  • Alternate Self: Several of the contestants chosen are different versions of a certain character. The differences range from being the opposite gender to coming from an entirely different continuity altogether.
  • Alternative Continuity: The more explicit of the changed canons is the Transformers one, which has its own version on how events went down, added to whenever a character from that is chosen. For example, Megatron retains his ROTF design and voice, but contains his more iconic (even heroic) aspects from other continuities, such as the IDW comics.
  • Amazonian Beauty: Many of the female contestants.
  • Animorphism: A Recurring Element in the episodes is the Basky Bug, which turns anyone it bites into an anthro animal (unless they already were anthro, in which case it does nothing). Whether it sticks or not depends on if the person bitten is the winner.
  • Anyone Can Die: It doesn't matter how powerful or iconic you are. Only one of you is getting out of this. Death can come as quickly as a single sentence! Don't get us started on events, which usually results in Characters Dropping Like Flies.
  • April Fools' Plot: The 15th and 27th episodes has the cast chosen for it being entirely filled up of joke characters in celebration of the holiday. The threats they face inside the Arenas however are anything BUT a joke.
  • Ascended Extra: After having been an enemy of the Klendathu Drop event in the second episode, a Warrior Arachnid joins as an actual contestant in the seventh episode. In the same episode, one of the other contestants, Interstella, is based on a Dinosaurian stripper from Rick and Morty.
    • The Ice Cream Bunny, after debuting in the 11th episode and spending the second season as a being inside the Arenas that everyone feared, he finally became a contestant in the 25th episode.
    • The Alien Zarab and the Pigmon, having first appeared in the 14th episode with the former being one of the first of many monsters the contestants had to fight and the latter as part of a Jackass stunt for the episode, reappear as contestants in the 26th and 27th episodes respectively.
  • Asshole Victim: Whenever a villain shows up either as a contestant or as the host of an Arena, you're usually not going to be shedding any tears when they bite it.
  • Author Appeal: The creator has gone on record about his love of monsters, even obscure ones, with plenty of B-movie monsters appearing as threats in the original Arena. Franchises such as "Transformers", "Las Lindas", "Ed, Edd, n Eddy" and others are also favored greatly, with them getting the biggest amount of focus. The diversity of appearances prevents a total case of Spotlight-Stealing Squad in that regard, however.
  • Back for the Dead: Anytime a character that appears here when they've died in their canon, only for them to die again.
  • Back from the Dead: Two members of the cast of the 9th Arena includes Cy the Cyberdemon and Belladonna, who were slain by the protagonists of their respective games but brought back to life to participate in the Arena. And thanks to Cy winning and using part of his wish to bring back Belladonna, they get to stay alive.
    • I.M.P.'s goal in the 21st episode is to use the wish to revive Millie's family, who were slain by Mokushiroku in "The Monster Who Challenged Hell". Despite a massive setback with most of them dying by the end of the first day, they succeed with Loona winning the Arena.
  • Back for the Finale: Ed, Taffy, Bagan, Sakaki, Ridley, and Ralsei all return for the last Arena of the first season.
    • The second season finale has every contestant featured in it having come from a previous Arena. Two of them that participate haven't been in an Arena since the very first one.
  • Battle Rapping: There are times where two characters will duel in a rap battle during an Arena.
  • Battle Royale Game: It's based on a simulator that's centered around this. 48 contestants come in. One comes out.
  • Bears Are Bad News: The only bears around the original Arena are all Short-Faced Bears. NOT a good sign.
  • Beast and Beauty: Most of the couples (but not all) fall under this.
  • Behemoth Battle: Since some of the combatants are monsters, even Kaiju, this can happen.
  • Beware the Nice/Quiet/Silly Ones: Many characters that can be chosen for this that can be either as gentle as a butterfly, reserved, or just plain silly. But they're all still capable of being a dangerous threat, if not actually winning an Arena.
  • Breast Expansion: Happens occasionally, if you drink Succubus Milk here.
  • Bigfoot, Sasquatch, and Yeti: The Voros Twins in the 15th episode being their introduction by stating they're searching for the 'Sussquatch'. And in the 18th episode, Bigfoot from the 2012 film 'Bigfoot' participates as a contestant.
  • Bigger Is Better in Bed: Expect most of the male winners to have this attribute. ESPECIALLY the Cybertronians.
  • Big "NO!": Many characters will let out one of these, usually either before they get killed, or after witnessing one of their loved ones get killed.
  • The Big Race: The 22nd episode has the all villain cast running through and killing each other in every ring of Hell.
    • The 31st episode has a much more traditional race, with the contestants driving through several tracks in one big lap, hoping to survive whatever's thrown at them.
  • Boldly Coming: Considering half of these people are from universes across...this is especially in the case of the Transformers and Jeri to Torque.
  • Bookends: The first episode has a final battle involving a previously thought dead combatant coming back to fight the soon-to-be winner. The Season 1 finale ends with exactly the same thing, but with different circumstances and much lengthier. Likewise, Ed is a contestant for the first and last Arenas of the first season.
    • Taffy, Racheal Saleigh, River the Vaporeon, Renamon, Felicia, and Kid Buu participate in the first and last Arenas of the second season.
  • Breaking Old Trends: The 15th Arena is the first one to have its main villain NOT be one of the actual contestants.
  • Brick Joke: In the fourth chapter of the 15th episode, The Riddler, upon finding a NFT of his staff online at an absurd price, asks "Now who would pay this obscene amount for a measly JPEG!?" Later in the same chapter, Peter Griffin (and in chapter 6, Dee Dee), end up paying an obscene amount for a JPEG.
  • Broken Win/Loss Streak: A few of the returnees wound up having to die in several Arenas before finally winning one. The most notable of which is Ed, who had appeared in 10 Arenas beforehand and finally won on his 11th.
    • Racheal Saleigh finally breaks Las Lindas massive losing streak that had been started ever since the second episode by winning the 26th Arena.
  • The Bus Came Back: Expect there to be at least one contestant from a previous Arena to return for another in every Arena after the first one, with how often one returns varies greatly depending on said character.
    • Bus Crash... And sometimes, a returnee ends up among the first to die in an Arena.
  • Canon Character All Along: At the end of "Welcome to United Equestria", it turns out that the monster Mokushiroku had a different name: SpaceGodzilla.
    • The Bandaged Stanger from the 10th episode was revealed to be The Shredder when he returns in the 22nd episode.
    • Inverted with Ken Masters from the 18th and the 19th episodes, who initially was the same Ken from the 1st episode, but the 24th episode revealed that the Ken from those Arenas was an impostor.
  • Canon Discontinuity: Several, but not many, of the canons have details that are explicitly stated to have been changed. This is incredibly apparent whenever characters from Las Lindas show up, as several events have been changed (like Taffy not getting together with Randall, whom is gay now).
    • In addition to all of the changes made with the relationships in Starfleet, everything after the fourth season of Starfleet gets tossed out when Mokushiroku shows up and maims and kills several of the Starfleet cast.
    • Eclipsa's introduction in the 16th Arena is immediately followed up with "(THAT AWFUL SERIES FINALE NEVER HAPPENED)".
  • Casual Danger Dialogue: Expect this to happen a lot, especially when multiple characters are in a scuffle.
  • Cat Fight: Surprisingly, most of the female-on-female fights are played seriously rather than sexually.
  • Chekhov's Gunman: There are many Arenas that will feature a character that although won't win, will participate in a future Arena and potentially win that one.
  • Chuck Cunning Ham Syndrome: After the first chapter of the 15th episode, Chris Voros of the Voros twins quickly disappears entirely without having even been killed, leaving Patrick Voros as the twin that gets focused on for the remainder of their run.
  • Clothing Damage: Occasionally, both male and female combatants (except for when they don't wear clothes to begin with) will receive damage to their outfits, requiring new more tribalistic outfits that usually result in a Navel-Deep Neckline.
  • Coming and Going: Inevitable, given the nature of this fic. One night, raw passion. The next day, sudden death for one or more of the partners.
  • Commercial Pop-Up: In the first episode, physical unskippable YouTube ads happen to show up and ruin the flow of battles. It got so annoying that Baskerra got Ad-Block to ensure that this never happened again.
  • Cosmic Keystone: The famous Infinity Stones make many appearance throughout the episodes of the first season, giving anybody whom finds them a certain power boost.
  • Crossover Couple: A heaping ton of them. To wit...
  • Curb-Stomp Battle: In the sixth chapter of the 10th episode, all the remaining contestants vs the Zenith Rathalos and Rathian has every contestant killed except for Wario, Torque, and Miia. But once the Crimson Fatalis hatches from Wario's egg, the Zenith Rathalos and Rathian are in turn quickly killed.
    • Every battle that has Mokushiroku in it has him win in a very decisive manner.
    • In the final chapter of the 19th episode, Shao Kahn, Mileena, and Tanya vs the remaining contestants. Despite being outnumbered 4:1, they (Mostly Shao Kahn) easily kill everyone except for Jon Taliban.
    • Golden Frieza vs everyone else in the third chapter of the 24th episode. To call it anything short of a massacre for the latter group would be very generous.
  • Curves in All the Right Places: Using phrases like 'curvy' and such come up to describe some of the attractive women shown.
  • Cutting Off the Branches: At least, with one of the franchises used. On Krystal's part, that is. Only, none of the possible endings were followed, but elements were taken.
  • Death Is Cheap: In a way, no one can truly stay dead, provided they are submitted to be a part of an Arena. In fact, any character that's still alive in their canon gets revived as soon as they're killed in an Arena.
  • David Versus Goliath: In many cases, this happens. One of the more notable cases is Judy Hopps Vs. Ridley.
    • The climax of the 10th episode has Torque, armed with only a pulse rifle, fighting a Crimson Fatalis that has been possessed by Wario, which has THREE Infinity Stones attached to it.
  • Death World: The entire Silverscale Arena is a multi-biome area that features various hazards continuously plaguing the entire area. Most of them involve various monsters from across universes, most VERY equipped to handle the contestants.
  • Dem Bones: In nearly every Arena, a group of skeletons appear at least once to try and attack several contestants, but they're more of a nuisance than anything.
  • Demoted to Extra: Karen, having been a contestant in the first episode, only appears for a single scene in the seventh episode where a group of Karens harass Bruce Lee. And then one of them gets eaten by Nova LeMarche. Fortunately she returns as a proper contestant in the 27th episode.
  • Developing Doomed Characters: Even if somebody isn't the winner, there's a good chance they'll get a fair amount of attention, especially if they survive long enough.
  • Did You Just Romance Cthulhu?: Some of the couples in the series fall under this. Some of the chosen partners are powerful Decepticons, Elder Dragons, and even god-like destructive entities!
  • Drama-Preserving Handicap: In episode 24, Frieza makes a wish with the mini Dragon Balls that ends leaving him unable to use his most powerful forms. This is the only way any of the remaining contestants can actually stand a chance at beating him.
  • The Dreaded: For whatever reason, whenever The Ice Cream Bunny makes an appearance, the contestants can only look on in fear at the mere sight of him.
  • Dropped a Bridge on Him: Basically any character who winds up dying during the Bloodbath.
    • Any characters that aren't given any proper explanation of what caused their deaths are usually written off as having suffered a 'BRUH' moment.
  • Dwindling Party: The 48 characters as a whole are always shaved down to just one by the end. During team-ups, this is inevitable and entire SWATHES can be taken out in an instant.
  • Early-Bird Cameo: In the third episode, Lucifer reads a magazine that has the latest in Incubus fashion, which includes some notable faces like Angel Dust. Angel Dust would later become a contestant in the 18th Arena.
    • In the 11th episode, Pinhead and a Cenobite version of Celestia called "Bloody Sun Needle" appear in the final chapter to take away Kurama. The actual Celestia would debut in the 13th Arena while Pinhead would appear as a contestant in the 21st and 33rd Arenas.
    • The 14th and 15th episodes involves characters from the United Equestria universe that give hints about their world before they would get a side-story called "Welcome to United Equestria", that explores their world.
    • Alopex, having made a brief appearance in the 6th Qn A, becomes a contestant in the 26th Arena.
  • Eaten Alive: One of the more common ways a character will meet their end.
  • Epic Fail: In the first season finale' Sakaki's attempt to make pancakes during a cook-off results in the pancakes being hot, mushy, and burnt while at the same time cold, crusty, and soggy. And when the pancakes get flung into Atraks-1's copies, it reduces them into raw materials.
  • Ethical Slut: Some of the more promiscuous characters are still as heroic as they were beforehand. Most of the female cast of Episode 6 is this, especially most of Team 1.
  • Everybody Has Lots of Sex: Aphrodisiac or not, this is DEFINITELY the case.
  • Everyone Is Bi: More pronounced with the females, but this even extends to outside of the Arena. The residents of Las Lindas got a whole side-story dedicated to this.
  • Everybody Lives: The 18th and 19th episodes have no one actually die during the Bloodbath. This doesn't last long however...
  • Evil Versus Evil: Expect villains from various universes to duke it out with little issue. An entire Arena is dedicated to villains fighting and killing each other as they run through Hell.
  • Fanservice Costumes: Occasionally, Baskerra will change the outfits of several combatants to be this. It's usually not appreciated by those on the receiving end.
  • Fanservice Cover: The side-stories. Dear lord, the side-stories. There's a good reason we're not posting those images on the recap.
  • Fate Worse than Death: Anytime Brazil is brought up, being sent to the country is considered this.
  • Final Girl: Any female contestant that becomes the winner of an Arena.
  • Foreshadowing: When Wendy fights a shadow clone of herself, she mentions that next time she's trying out girls next time she goes dating. That, or girls with a dick. She gets to try out the latter in the 17th episode.
  • Four Is Death: 12 teams of four are submitted in each episode, and most of the time only one character from one team will get out of it alive. Bonus points if a team is completely wiped out on the fourth chapter or day/night.
  • Gender Bender: In addition to several contestants that appear as the opposite gender than in canon, there's an entire side-story about several previous winners screwing their loved ones after drinking a gender changing potion.
  • Girl on Girl Is Hot: Don't get us wrong, Gay scenes do happen, but expect this to come up more often.
  • Gratuitous German: In the 22nd episode, Hans Landa lets out a "Nein!" moments before The Shredder crushes his skull.
  • Greater-Scope Villain: Baskerra may be the host causing all of this madness, but she worships several other F-Listers, named Anza Shattergaze and the head of the Lounge herself, Shardfire the Ice Dragon.
  • Hated by All: Every contestant that meets Baskerra despises for kidnapping them, forcing them to join a Deadly Game, and possibly having to witness the people that they're close to die in front of them.
  • Hellhound: The main host is a female twin-tailed black-furrred anthro one, equipped with god-like magical power. She's also considerably Affably Evil, as she tries her best to avert being a Jackass Genie to those that win.
  • Hermaphrodite: Plenty of them show up as contestants, but the two most notable ones debut in the 7th episode: Krystal, who becomes one after drinking what she assumed was normal water and wins the Arena, and Nova LeMarche, who serves as the Big Bad of that Arena.
  • Heteronormative Crusader: The Starfleet Empire, having outlawed homosexuality after their world got merged with Equestria. This infuriates several Equestrians that get shown in "Welcome to United Equestria", who are LGBT themselves. And in the 17th episode, Starla Shine attempts to kill Wendy and Ven for having lesbian sex in a shower.
  • Hotter and Sexier: Several franchises are hit with this, like Zootopia and even sexually charged franchises like Las Lindas get their fanservice turned up to eleven.
  • Immediate Sequel: "The Monster Who Challenged Hell" takes place immediately after the end of "Welcome to United Equestria".
  • Impaled With Extremeprejudice: Many, many characters get taken out this way.
  • Improbably Female Cast: Enforced with the 17th episode, where the theme for that one was an all-girls Arena, with the only males that appear are Dr. Z and The Magician.
  • Interplay of Sex and Violence: Sex and violence go hand-in-hand with ease here.
  • In Name Only: Several contestants of the Arena are alternate variations of a certain character that are reviled for acting nothing like how they should be and are given a mocking moniker to distinguish themselves from the characters they're based on. So far the list includes Not-Katara, Not-Zuko, Soulless Maleficent, Crazy Steve, Bonkers Betty (these last two nicknames were taken from Linkara's review of the ASBAR series), Not-Beast Boy, and Not-Velma.
  • Interspecies Romance: Across the board, canon or not. This seems to be a running theme that you can count on.
  • La Résistance: The last chapter of "Welcome to United Equestria" reveals that Princess Luna is building a small rebellion to fight back against Starfleet's tyranny.
  • Likes Older Men: The female part of most of the ships falls under this. Sometimes, it goes without mention, other times, it's explicit. Thankfully, they're of consent, preventing the worst aspects of this trope...
  • Limit Break: Any character that manages to get a hold of a Smash Ball then unleashes a very powerful attack, usually resulting in the deaths of two contestants.
  • Love Is in the Air: Well, more like 'sex-inducing aphrodisiac is constantly pumped into the air', but...
  • Lucky Seven: The winners of an episode who happened to be on the seventh team of the episode, those being Bardin Goreksson, Godzilla, and Lop. Special mention goes to the seventh team of episode 32, where not only do they not lose a single member until the final chapter, but also had the aforementioned Lop from their team win.
    • The winner of the seventh episode, Krystal, who was also the seventh character listed in the simulation.
  • Made of Indestructium: The barrier that's keeping everyone trapped in the Arenas. Whatever it's made of, nothing can seem to destroy it, as the barrier disintegrates anything it touches. The closest it gets to being destroyed is the 15th Arena, where Numbuh 3 finds a hole inside the barrier.
  • Make a Wish: Whoever gets to win an Arena gets the chance to make one wish of whatever they desire.
  • Mars Needs Women: Cybertronians are on the brink of extinction due to the Allspark's destruction, thus the reveal of genatalia has caused the two winning ones of the Arena to accept that sex with organics ain't so bad and this could give their species hope.
  • Masturbation Means Sexual Frustration: Many characters masturbate in the Arenas if they can't find anyone to sleep with.
  • Mauve Shirt: Any character can become this in an Arena if they manage to survive for long enough despite lacking any importance to the plot.
  • Mistaken for Racist: In the 26th episode, the Scout pulls out a journal containing the Soldier's tips on surviving an Arena, only to find the warning "Beware of Golden Aliens" on it and assumes that the Soldier's being xenophobic towards Mexicans.
  • Mundane Made Awesome: Several times, innocuous stuff will be turned into something worth stopping the action, like a cook-off or, especially in the finale, rap battles.
  • New Powers as the Plot Demands: The entire Arena is basically Baskerra's toy-box, which results in it changing biomes and even changing positions of the characters.
  • No Body Left Behind: A lot of the deaths will leave no traces of that person's body, usually either by a really powerful attack obliterating them, or from getting eaten whole.
    • Any character gets completely disintegrated should their body touch the barrier that's trapping them in.
  • Nonindicative Name: The "Tournament" that Lucifer holds in "The Monster that Challenged Hell" is actually more of a battle royale, with the name having been a typo that stuck. He finds it more fun to say tournament anyways.
  • No Ontological Inertia: By Baskerra's own admission, some characters, after they die, are returned to their universe with no memory of what happened to maintain the space-time continuum. Only winners are allowed to keep their memories.
  • No OSHA Compliance: The Arena is faulty in a few areas, like coolant pipes running beneath the ground that can be unearthed and subject people to either Harmless Freezing or Literally Shattered Lives.
  • Non-Mammal Mammaries: Comes up, given this is a Yiff work.
  • Nutritional Nightmare: The Nasty Patty when it showed up during the first season. Any character that has this shoved down their throats immediately dies from it.
  • Obnoxious Entitled Housewife: A Karen participates in the first episode, where in her first scene she immediately demands to speak to the manager before pulling her gun out on her other teammates. A whole group of them show up in the seventh episode, where they think it's a good idea to harass Bruce Lee of all people. She later returns as a contestant in the 27th episode as well.
  • Once an Episode: Every appearance Wario makes has him scream a Big "OMG!", just before he's harmed/killed.
  • Once a Season: In every season there has always been at least one Transfomer on Baskerra Hellmane's team that wins an Arena.
  • One-Shot Character: In addition to all of the numerous characters that only make one appearance in an Arena or side-story, there are a few unique cases where a contestant makes their debut and can't make another appearance:
    • In episode 7 we have Rose and Krystal's first girlfriend Desantra, OCs from the artist Deathhydra. While Desantra made a few cameo appearances in the Qn As and "Infinity Pizza", Rose only showed up for that episode. When the artist deleted their social media accounts in 2023, the author wrote Desantra (and by extension Rose) out in the beginning of "Star Fox: The Spawning" by having her break up with Krystal since she's Married to the Job.
  • Orgasmatron: The Arena as a whole constantly pumps out aphrodisiac so much that one could be forgiven for thinking it's this.
  • Parental Incest: Jill and her son Marylyn in the 10th episode have a lot of sex together.
  • Phallic Weapon: Occasionally a character will find a dildo sword or spear in the center of the Bloodbath.
  • Porn with Plot: Everything from orgies to lewd transformations to several other kinks...and there's still a noticeable story being told within each episode, as everybody struggles to survive/cope with the Arena
    • This extends to the side-stories, though they mostly lean into the porn aspect.
  • Power Creep, Power Seep: With more overpowered characters, expect them to be nerfed until perhaps the very end.
  • Product Placement: In-Universe, one of the sponsors of the Arenas puts Canned Coochie in several in the Arenas, but most of the time the characters that find these cans aren't too thrilled upon discovering these.
  • Pun: The name of Ed's Eleventh Hour Super Power: Ultra Ed-stinct.
  • Recurring Element: Several characters end up appearing more times than most of the others. The biggest example is Ed, who in the first season, appeared in every Arena except for the 7th one.
    • The Infinity Stones in the first season, which powers up any character that finds it greatly and plays a role in a few of the final battles in the Arena. It cultivates in the first season finale, "Infinity Pizza", where the villains plan to use them to get revenge on the winners.
  • Reset Button: Happens before every Arena, though how this will fare after it was destroyed in the Season 1 finale is unclear.
  • Robot Me: Episodes 10 & 12 have several characters get attacked by robot duplicates of themselves. They don't prove to be much of a threat in either episode however.
  • Rocks Fall, Everyone Dies: Especially when an "Event" happens. Entire teams can be destroyed in an instant.
    • The penultimate chapter of an episode will usually take out a huge chunk of the contestants that remained to the point that the remaining ones can be counted on one hand.
  • Rule 63: The catalyst of the side-story "Switcheroo Scramble" is several of the previous winners and their loved ones along with Jill and Marylyn finding a potion that upon drinking it changes them into the opposite gender. In the story itself however, only two characters change their names after transforming, those being Judy and Nick changing to "Jack" and "Nikki" respectively.
  • Running Gagged: Starting in the second episode, Grand Gosei would appear and give several random contestants a mostly useless 'upgrade'. This continued up until the fifth episode, where Baskerra throws him into a black hole, making sure he wouldn't come back. At least until he returns for the 24th episode.
  • Screw the Money, This Is Personal!: Blitz has I.M.P. try to assassinate Mokushiroku for free after he killed most of Millie's family.
  • Screw This, I'm Outta Here: Aside from those winning not wanting to return anymore, the Bloodbath usually ends with some survivors going it alone.
    • A contestant will likely attempt this when a situation gets too dicey, only for most of the time it ends with their death.
  • Sex Comedy: One of the many genres this series occupies.
  • Shameless Fanservice Girl: Plenty of characters that are sent here come with little to no clothing on them, and are proud of showing off their bodies.
  • Sickeningly Sweethearts: Deconstructed with Not-Katara and Not-Zuko. While they go on about how much they love each other, they never specify why they actually do so. In addition, this is the ONLY thing the two ever talk about, which gets on the other contestants' nerves quickly and greatly. And when the two show up without their significant other, they resort to using violent means if it means they get to see each other again. This includes attacking and even killing their own teammates.
  • Sole Survivor: Most Arenas end with only one contestant left alive after everything's said and done, though there have been some exceptions to this.
    • Sallie May ends up being the only one of Millie's family to survive Mokushiroku's attack on the farm in "The Monster Who Challenged Hell".
  • Spotlight-Stealing Crossover: Among all the franchises that show up in an Arena, Transformers and Las Lindas are the two most recurring ones, with one or both having at least one character from their series show up in nearly every Arena.
    • The side-story "The Monster Who Challenged Hell, despite being listed as a Hazbin Hotel / Helluva Boss / Godzilla / Friendship is Magic crossover, the MLP universe only gets brought up by Mokushiroku in the beginning and the end of the story with neither any character from MLP or Starfleet showing up at all. In addition, the characters on the Helluva Boss have no impact on the plot whatsoever, only showing up because Mokushiroku kills most of Millie's family.
  • Stepford Suburbia: The main setting of the 18th episode, a town with a 50s aesthetic that's actually called Stepford.
  • Take That!: A side story deconstructs Starfleet and its ways of ruling.
  • Tamer and Chaster: The 22nd and 23rd Arenas completely lack any sex scenes at all.
  • Team Killer: While it is rare, there are a few instances where one member of a team will kill another one from their team.
  • They Killed Kenny Again: Expect returners to the episodes to be gruesomely killed once more. And worse yet, they REMEMBER how they died beforehand. Amnesia Loop is NOT in effect. Any returnee that manages to win an Arena gets to avert this.
  • Third Time's The Charm: Three contestants that had entered twice beforehand manage to win in the third Arena they participate in, those being Judy Hopps, Shockwave, and Lop.
  • Those Two Guys: There will be at least one duo i most episodes that gets a good chunk of screentime even if neither of them win. The most consistent duo in the series is Shantae and Isabelle who are always on the same team everytime they appear in the same episode.
  • Transformation Horror: Averted, whenever the cast eats transformatives...for the most part.
  • Trash the Set: The Season 1 Finale ends with the whole Arena being destroyed by Ed and Ridley's battle, which results in most of the Arenas in the second season taking place in entirely different Arenas. The original returns as the battleground for the 24th Arena.
    • Every location that has a Mokushiroku fight ends up being completely destroyed in the process.
    • Several rings of Hell in the 22nd episode, most notably Gluttony and Greed, get destroyed from all the villains fighting each other.
  • Unbreakable Weapons: Jon Taliban's wish in the 19th episode is for a pair of nunchucks that won't break, which he gets in gold coloring.
  • Villain Team-Up: The finale to the first season "Infinity Pizza" has most of the previous villains team up against the winners of the Arenas.
  • We ARE Struggling Together: A lot of the teams start out with one or all of the members at each other's throats during their team introduction.
  • We Hardly Knew Ye: Any character that dies during the Bloodbath/first day suffers from this. Especially if they don't make another appearance.
  • Weird Crossover: Due to the user-submission part of the Arena, the choices that these people can make can lead to a lot of bizarre interactions between several characters. Especially in the Arenas of the first season, where the characters didn't have to be tied with a theme. To give an example, the first team of the first episode consisted of Ed, Megatron, Loona, and Lilith Calah.
  • Whole-Plot Reference: Several of the side-stories have the winners and their circle of acquaintances reenact a 20th century horror b-movie.
  • Who Names Their Kid "Dude"?: The narration isn't amused when one of the contestants for the 12th episodes is an Eevee named 'Eveo'.
Yeah, whoever named him had to be slapped in the face.
  • The World as Myth: The Multiverse exists, with several universe occupying it (like, say, the Nintendo Universe). Apparently, ours is titled CORE Universe.
  • World's Strongest Man: The theme for the 23rd episode has some of the strongest characters across all of fiction duking it out in a tournament.
  • Would Hurt a Child: While it is rare, it's entirely possible that an actual child or two can get submitted into an Arena. Usually, their chances of survival are nil. For obvious reasons, they're never affected by the aphrodisiac.
  • Yandere: Not-Katara in both of her appearances spends her time frantically trying to find where 'her Zuko' is and is more than willing to use violent means on others, including her own teammates, if she thinks it'll help her find him.
  • Yiff: Most of the sexual aspects, honestly. This DID originate not just on the furry RP-ing site, F-List, but the series is only accessible through FurAffinity. At least until it also made the jump to ArchiveOfOurOwn.
  • You Sexy Beast: Most, if not all, of the male counterparts of the relationships present involve monstrous beings. The biggest and most literal definitions of this trope apply to Zhima and Rachael Saleigh's attractions to a Nergigante named Zodd and Ira the Carnotaurus, respectively.
  • Zombie Apocalypse: The cast chosen for the 17th episode has them running through a mansion that has zombies swarming everywhere. And in the 21st episode, the cast for that one has them running through Racoon City during the T-Virus outbreak.
