Silver Mics is a French fanfiction about the universe of N'Oubliez Pas Les Paroles, a French TV show based on Don't Forget the Lyrics!. The story is available here.
Silver Mics provides examples of:
- Accent Adaptation: Arsene and Harvey keep their French voices but with a Maurice Chevalier Accent. Reggie originally came from Belgium, but strangely talks with a mix of Swiss and German Accent. Toni is an Italian speaking with a strong Sicilian accent. Kevin is mistakenly speaking with an Indian accent, even if he's Iranian. The other characters speak with either American, British or Australian dialects.
- Accidental Hand-Hold: Violet and Harvey accidentally hold hands sometimes, even if they have a Slap-Slap-Kiss relationship.
- The Ace: Kevin is clever, full of sympathy, and has a certain charm towards girls, especially Margo who's like a Distaff Counterpart for him.
- Action Girl: Margo does extreme sports like biking. She's a Gamer Chick and a Hair of Gold, making her perfect for Kevin.
- Act of True Love: Toni does a kind when he saves Alessandra. She does the Falling into His Arms thing when climbing during their first date.
- Adaptational Sexuality: The character of Jay—based on Jeremy—is originally gay, but turns straight for the needs of the story.
- Adrenaline Makeover:
- Margo does it with a Tomboyness Upgrade when she does a tribute of Grease in a masquerade ball.
- Louise wanted to do it just by taking her glasses off!
- Affectionate Nickname:
- Harvey calls his girlfriend "little flower".
- Toni calls Alessandra "Mia Stella" which means my star in Italian.
- Almost Kiss: It happens for Harvey when Violet kisses him on the lips just for trying lipstick... That fail leads them to have their First Kiss during a date and the Official Kiss just one week after.
- Alpha Bitch: Lucile is bossy, manipulative, and selfish, because Popularis Dumb.
- Am I Just a Toy to You?: Reggie tells it to Lucille during a truth or dare game when he learns that she gets paid for dating him.
- Attention Whore: Arsene likes to brags about his attractiveness. If you tell him just once "You're Unattractive", you push his Berserk Button and he turns into The Fighting Narcissist.
- Aw, Look! They Really Do Love Each Other: Despite their rivalry, Violet and Harvey seem to care about their Love Interest when they aren't too busy arguing.
- Belligerent Sexual Tension: The relationship of Violet and Harvey is quite a classic, because it follows a same pattern of love, heartwarming moments, and conflicts due to hatred or jealousy... Just Like an Old Married Couple
- Birds of a Feather: Kevin and Margo are happy when they learn they both like technology, literature and music.
- Brainless Beauty: Arsene isn't technically smart, but he knows how to make a girl swoon over him.
- Casanova Wannabe: Kevin attempts an impression of Harvey's flirting skills, but it ends up awkward.
- Clingy Jealous Girl: Violet becomes a little bit possessive towards Harvey and cat-fight with other girls to keep an eye on him... Strangely, Caroline feels the same kind for Arsene, but don't show it properly.
- Cock Fight: Margo is the girl and three guys are battling: Toni, Arsene and Kevin!
- Commitment Issues: Shy guys like Reggie or Kevin are supposed to have commitment issues because they wait for physical attraction. They prefer a lot about talking about subjects before acting as a real couple, which can be tricky.
- Coupled Couples: Violet/Harvey are friends with Kevin/Margo and gives them tips.
- Crush Blush: Margo and Kevin are so red together. Especially when they look deeply in their eyes like in Held Gaze.
- The Cutie: Alessandra believes in fairytales and have a tendency to sing when she's talking.
- Does That Sound Like Fun to You?: Violet says that, when Harvey laughs and he knows that he was right.
- Do You Trust Me?: The question asked by Kevin to Margo before they did First Kiss and then Their First Time. For the case of Harvey and Violet, they add the Are You Ready part for making a promise of building a good relationship!
- Dub Name Change: For the translation of the book, some names of the characters are changed. Herve became Harvey, Violaine is called Violet, Renaud is known as Reggie, and Elodie became Melody.
- Eating Lunch Alone: In a flash-back sequence, it states that Kevin had nobody to eat with until Margo came around.
- Faint in Shock: That's how Toni reacts when Alessandra kisses him in front of everyone!
- Gadgeteer Genius: Kevin and Reggie are akin in terms of hobbies... comics, video games or manga, and they like to create things.
- Genki Girl: Caroline and Reggie are talkative, chatty, and goofy.
- Glasses-and-Ponytail Coverup: Violet was actually that kind, with a white formal shirt as an Age-Inappropriate Dress.
- Hot-Blooded: Josie and Violet both act like this... they are both Competition Freaks and act like Drama Queens.
- I Don't Want to Ruin Our Friendship: That's what Margo says to Kevin after he discovers that Toni spends a lot of time with her.
- Interrupted Intimacy: Kevin and Margo had one weird moment when they were making out. Jay knocks at the door of Kevin's room in a way of taking back his phone.
- Leg Focus: Harvey fantasizes about Violet's long legs.
- Love at First Sight:
- Happens for Margo and Kevin, with a slight reference to Cinderella when Kevin finds The Girl Who Fits This Slipper.
- It happens for Arsene and Caroline with an Eating the Eye Candy situation.
- Make-Out Kids: Caroline and Arsene are kissing every time they get a scene in the book.
- Mr. Fixit: Margo is a female version of this trope. She can use tools to take care of bikes, computers or even cars.
- Offscreen Romance: Probably Louise and Jeremy because they disappear without saying any goodbye to the other characters, Julian and Soriana knows each other for one year... Lucile and Gethin coming in the story as exes
- Rage Breaking Point: Violet can lose her temper very easily and get mad with other characters for anything. If someone says Get A Hold Of Yourself Man it infuriates her even more...
- Spicy Latina: Josie the new contestant had dark curly hair, tan skin, a tiny Spanish accent, and great curves. Arsene will fall in love for her, leading to a Love Triangle with Caroline.
- Statuesque Stunner: Arsene is a male version of it. He's tall compared to the other characters, and usually acts as a leader when he needs to.
- Violently Protective Girlfriend: Caroline, for saving Arsene from Josie's claws before they finally bond as friends.
