Recurring Villains

    Karasu
The Stoic Bellum assassin encountered during the first DLC, Karasu is the first new Bellum assassin that does not die in the story arc he's introduced in. Having a Magical Eye that can duplicate anything he gazes at, with a Creepy Crows motif over him. He first robs a bank on Eden-66 to gain money, but improves to kidnapping Aurai before Masher swiftly took her back. Even later on, he assists the Vault Hunters in fighting Jackal Cash, being instrumental in their fight against him. As of now, he is still with Bellum on Sheol, though their exact intentions are unknown.
  • Affably Evil / Noble Demon: While he works for an Ax-Crazy organization, he is one of the few who shows empathy to others, more specifically Hyperion experiments like Wolfenstein or Krieg.
  • Creepy Crows: Always has a single crow on his shoulder, which is instrumental to his main offense.
  • Eyes Out of Sight: He has eye obscuring bangs. His eyes can still function even when covered, meaning he doesn't need to uncover his eyes.
  • Hooks and Crooks: Wields a huge fishing hook as a weapon. It's remarkably effective at tearing throats.
  • Magical Eye: Has one due to the Bird of Prey experiment, known as the Crow eye. He can duplicate any object he looks at as well as switch two different objects by looking at them with either eye. Both of these abilities make him remarkably deadly in combat, as he frequently switches himself out to avoid being damaged.
  • The Quiet One: Rarely talks at all, letting John and Jane fulfill the speaking role. He explains that he finds talking difficult.
  • The Stoic: Rarely offers facial expressions or words, with Nerves of Steel to boot.
  • Terse Talker: When he does talk, it's this. Justified, as the Bird of Prey experiment makes it hard for him to make full sentences when speaking.

    John and Jane
A pair of children in the service of Bellum, they are introduced alongside Karasu. They are incestuous twins who fight as a Battle Couple, their relationship based almost purely on Squick.
  • Badass Normal: Turns out to be this. They possess no special abilities or powers, just good old fashion guns and combat prowess.
  • Battle Couple: Fight together very well, though they aren't actually married.
  • BDSM: John is the dominant sadist while Jane is the submissive masochist.
  • Creepy Twins: Oh so very much...
  • Expy: Of Hansel and Gretel from Black Lagoon. The Squick value is increased even further by their BDSM-style relationship, though YMMV.
  • Half-Identical Twins: They look extremely similar, with their only difference being Jane's hair and breasts, as well as their attire.
  • Twincest: Blatantly used. It's actually their only humanizing attribute, as they unambiguously love each other and are extremely devoted to one another.

Initial Story (Vault Hunters Wanted)

    Brutus
A Bandit who leads a huge crew of Rats and Bandits, he is the first boss of the story. Is fairly challenging due to his BFG, but does not get much in the way of characterization.
  • BFG: Uses a freaking cannon for his weapon, which doubles as a walking stick.
  • Mighty Glacier: Hits like a ton of bricks, but doesn't move very fast compared to the Vault Hunters.

    Jupiter
A huge Hyperion Loader with a pilot, Jupiter is the second boss in the initial story. He is killed by the Vault Hunters and Baskerville when they took over the Hyperion ship.
  • Genre Savvy / Wrong Genre Savvy: Is both. He is very well aware he is an end-mission boss and worth a lot of XP, but he's technically in a fanfic story. It makes sense if you don't think about it.
  • Lampshade Hanging: Does this so frequently its the basis of his character. He talks about gaming in general, as well as player teams (tanks and healers specifically) and missions.
  • Mecha: Not at Humongous Mecha levels of size, but he definitely is this trope.

    Brigadier General Arcum Sagitta
The first villain of the Quirky Miniboss Squad of Bellum, he is the Worthy Opponent of Mordecai and destines to take his place as El Cazador, the greatest hunter in the universe. Using an Energy Bow to fight his battles, he is not able to defeat Mordecai in their final fight and dies of his injuries.
  • Cold Sniper: Rarely allows emotion into his voice at all. Which makes it very surprising during his final fight with Mordecai when he gets completely enraged, literally foaming at the mouth in anger.
  • Long-Range Fighter: Averted. While he prefers being away from his opponents, he can still use his arrows as makeshift melee weapons as well as his surprisingly good dodging and evasion skills.

    Colonel Doctor Marie Winter
The second villain of Quirky Miniboss Squad of Bellum, she is a violent Stalker with a Crush towards Krieg, as well as a general Mad Doctor towards everyone else. Fighting using a pair of bladed gauntlets, she later upgrades to a huge bladed spider-like apparatus mounted to her back to fight.

    Major General Sine
One of the assassins sent after Rocko the Badass, as well as one of the higher ranks, Sine is a Magical Eye-wielding Stoic that is killed by Maya by accelerating his aging process to the point where he turned into dust.
  • Eye Scream: Has eyes in the backs of his hands. Also, his Eye of The Vulture and Raven eyes tend to bleed after using them. And then Maya rips out one of his eyes right before disintegrating him.
  • Magical Eye: Has 4, two of which are implanted into the back of his hands.
    • Eye of The Hummingbird: Turns him into a Lightning Bruiser, adding armor and speed at the same time.
    • Eye of The Owl: Makes him see and react far faster than normal.
    • Eye of The Raven: Paralyzes opponents with intense mental pain. Can be broken with physical pain.
    • Eye of The Vulture: Spawns black lightning that tortures the victim and makes it impossible to fight back.

    Zane/Dane
The most unexplained member of Bellum's assassin squad, Zane and Dane are Creepy Twins that are Two Beings, One Body, their powers being complimentary to one another as well. Zane is killed by the Vault Hunters as a group, while Dane was killed separately by Brick in a Dying Moment of Awesome for the latter.
  • Attack of the 50-Foot Whatever: Dane can do this when separated from Zane. Despite the fact most villains lose after doing this, Dane is actually the last of the 8-man squad to die, including his own brother.
  • Combat Tentacles: When combined, their powers are this. Also incorporates healing when Dane is in control and burning with Zane.
  • Creepy Twins: Their appearance and abilities alone make this. Personality wise, they're pretty casual.
  • Doppelgänger Attack: Zane's main attack method when separated from Dane. Is very effective as a distraction, but not for much else.
  • Fusion Dance: Rapidly switch powers in combat to suit the situation, though they truly excel when apart.
  • Giant Space Flea from Nowhere: No explanation at all is given about them, making their powers even more disturbing in context.
  • Power Tattoos: Red indicates Dane, blue indicates Zane.
  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: Played straight in every way, up to the color of their tattoos. Zane is Blue Oni, Dane is Red Oni.
  • Two Beings, One Body: No one is exactly sure how they do it, but it appears that their Power Tattoos indicate the dominant personality/body. When they separate near the end of the story, their separate bodies are entirely covered in their specific tattoo.

    Rosalign Rubity
A Sinister Scythe-wielding Creepy Child, Rosalign is an independent assassin from Maliwan sent to help the Bellum squad. She is very bubbly and innocent in speech, even when slicing apart other people with her weapon. Gets killed by Zero, suffering a Diagonal Cut that splits through her entire body.

    Lieutenant General Ciruolo
A real gangster, Ciruolo is a part of the 8-man Bellum assassin squad. He is an Anti-Villain Cigar Chomper, being Affably Evil in his dealings with the Vault Hunters for the most part. Gets killed by the 3rd generaiton Vault Hunters as part of his Dare to Be Badass lesson to them.
  • Anti-Villain: Doesn't appear to really like his job, openly despising Maliwan for how upper-class they are and being very friendly to the Vault Hunters. Even during their fight, he delivers a Dare to Be Badass speech to them, provoking them to kill him to prove themselves to the other generations of Vault Hunters.
  • Cigar Chomper: Always has one, even during a fight.
  • Shotguns Are Just Better: Has a fully automatic one at that.

    Warden Lane
The Demolitions Expert of the Bellum assassin squad, Lane is The Stoic of the group alongside Arcum. Doesn't get much characterization before being sacrified by his superiors to try and kill the Vault Hunters. It doesn't work.
  • Demolitions Expert: Uses blue orbs that detonate on contact with enemies as his main weapon, alongside a staff to hurl them.
  • Senseless Sacrifice: He could've gotten nearly all of the 3rd generation Vault Hunters killed, but external variables prevented them from dying, making him this trope.
  • The Stoic: Unlike Arcum, he keeps his composure even when faced with certain death, calmly accepting the fact that he was going to die from either the Vault Hunters or his own superiors. Doesn't stop him from swearing a lot more than most though.

First DLC (Mister Vangorium's Wonder Gunporium)

District # 1 Assistant Nurse Katelyn

District # 1 Leader Doctor Suture

    District # 2 Leader Dragola
The seventh best fighter (alongside Brittlebine) in the Carnival, Dragola is the main force of the Action Duo, representing them in the meetings with the other district leaders. She is a mutant who can breathe fire as well as having wings that be used for flight. She and her husband are defeated by the Vault Hunters and later is taken down by Gaige. She, along with her husband, Stan and Elena flee the planet together, with their current whereabouts unknown.
  • Affably Evil: Not as much as Nitro, but definitely up there. She honestly didn't want to fight the Vault Hunters and even tries to convince Brittlebine to avoid confrontation as much as possible.
  • Battle Couple: Her and Brittlebine are Happily Married and fight together, being extremely effective in combat.
  • Evil Redhead: Subverted. While she is a villain, she is a Designated Villain at best, as she is very civil in all of her dealings with the Vault Hunters.
  • Playing with Fire: Her main offense.
  • Winged Humanoid: Has fully functioning wings on her back, marking her as a mutant.

    District # 2 Leader Brittlebine
The seventh best fighter (alongside Dragola) in the Carnival, Brittlebine is the secondary force of the Action Duo, being a very protective type towards her and preferring to stay in the shadows. He is a mutant who can manipulate his internal bone structure to fight, which is harder than steel and even bulletproof. He and his wife are defeated by the Vault Hunters and later is taken down by Gaige. He, along with his wife, Stan and Elena flee the planet together, with their current whereabouts unknown.
  • Affably Evil: Oh so very much. While he's more protective and prone to annoyance than his wife, he is still a very civil man who wishes to protect his wife.
  • Bad with the Bone: His main offense and the reason he's considered a mutant.
  • Battle Couple: Him and Dragola are Happily Married, and fight together, being extremely effective in combat.
  • The Quiet One: Prefers Dragola to do the talking, as he doesn't even show up at the meetings.

    District # 3 Assistant Famile
The assistant to Tikari and Viitta, Famile is a puppeteer / necromancer tryng to revive his family from some unspoken horrific accident. He is defeated by the Vault Hunters and after the Carnival appears to have seperated his family from himself, now living happily together.
  • Came Back Wrong: Implies that he did something to his family that caused them to integrate into his own body. He now is trying to separate them back into their original forms with metal bodies, as he believes anything else is inferior. It appears he's succeeded, though it didn't explain how.
  • Fantastic Racism: Thinks living breathing humans are inferior to him. It doesn't end well.
  • Giant Space Flea from Nowhere: No other bothers explaining what he is, how his family is stuck into his body, or what he did to separate them in the epilogue. It makes him creepy and sad at the same time.

    District # 3 Leader Tikari
The sixth best fighter (alongside Viitta) in the Carnival, Tikari is a greedy businessman who's Only in It for the Money. He's a former Grave Knight who uses a variety of elemental attacks to destroy his opponents, all of which cause a massive amount of damage. He's immune to physical damage, meaning his partner can hit him with his chainsaw and not be bothered at all. He's incredibly weak to elemental damage though, which is the key to his downfall by the Vault Hunters. After their fight, he and his partner fight Maya, where he is again defeated. After the Carnival, he leaves with Viitta along with all their money.
  • Action Duo: With Viitta. It's something to watch.
  • Elemental Powers: Uses acid, fire, and electricty, as well as air in all of his fights.
  • Hair-Trigger Temper: Only when Viitta is involved. The only reason they haven't killed one another is because of their immunity to the other one's abilities.
  • Killed Off for Real: Killed by Grave Knight Gueule in the second DLC. Worse, he had no reason for doing it save out of pride.
  • Only in It for the Money: Admits this, saying money is the only useful thing in the world, even trumping love.
  • Punch-Clock Villain: Doesn't particularly like his job, or even fighting in general. He does it because it's profitable.
  • Vitriolic Best Buds: Even though he despises Viitta with a passion, both of them clearly respect the other. This is proven when Tikari began leaving, Viitta joined him with no complaints from the former.

    District # 3 Leader Viitta
The sixth best fighter (alongside Tikari) in the Carnival, Viitta is an Ax-Crazy Blood Knight who loves fighting with a passion, being his primary motivation to anything. He uses a chainsaw to kill his opponents, being a Lightning Bruiser who can take a ton of punishment from everywhere. He's a former Grave Knight who can adjust his body in a thousand different ways, making him hard to hit and kill. He's immune to elemental damage, meaning Tikari can spam his Elemental Powers without worrying about killing him. He's incredibly weak to physical damage, which is the key to his defeat by the Vault Hunters. Later, he and Tikari fight Maya, where they both are defeated. After the Carnival, he leaves with Tikari along with all their money.
  • Action Duo: With Tikari. It's extremely effective.
  • The Brute: Isn't particularly smart, though since his partner is a Genius Bruiser it's unlikely he'd need to be smart.
  • Chainsaw Good: Has one. He has to rev it up, but it cuts through damn near anything in his way.
  • Does This Remind You of Anything?: Half the things out of his mouth really. He mentions how fighting Alan and Paula is the best threesome he's ever had, much to their Squick. It Crosses the Line Twice half the time too.
  • Killed Off for Real: Killed by Grave Knight Gueule in the second DLC. Worse, he had no reason for doing it save out of pride.
  • The Hedonist: Admits to being this. It's hard to argue.
  • Vitriolic Best Buds: Has this relationship with Tikari, despite their animosity. He even joins him after the Carnival, though he still is as annoying as ever.

    District # 4 Assistant Carnifex
The Unfought assistant to Masher, Carnifex is the Property of Love towards his master as well as his personal nurse. Carnifex is fairly civil and kind to others, and he even has morals that differ from his master's, but he stands by no matter what.
  • Huge Guy, Tiny Guy: Carnifex isn't that short compared to most people (he's about six foot) but compared to Masher he is short. The only reason it isn't the other trope is that it's a romantic relationship, and Masher as the Big Guy does all the fighting and thinking.
  • Property of Love: Has every implication of a BDSM relationship, with Carnifex even referring to Masher as Master. He doesn't seem to mind.
  • The Unfought: Masher doesn't want him to fight, claiming that he isn't strong enough yet. Carnifex knows that he really doesn't want him fighting because he doesn't want him to get hurt.

    District # 4 Leader Masher
The fifth best fighter, Masher is a total Jerkass to everyone, even his fellow district leaders, and fights using a BFG. Is a Serial Rapist and Blood Knight that is considered extreme even in this story, he nearly rapes Aurai just to piss off the other Vault Hunters before deciding on fighting her instead, losing the fight. Later on, he fights Krieg and uses a Suicide Attack to take him out. It doesn't work. After the Carnival, it's unknown where he is, but he has brought both his little brother and his boyfriend with him.
  • Ambiguously Gay: Has a boyfriend (referred to as his servant), and his interactions with females are either insults or rape. Word of God even states that he thinks women are not worthy of his romance or any respect at all.
  • Big Brother Instinct: His primary motivation to being in the Carnival, as his brother has large medical bills to pay for. He even wishes to kill his own mother for what she did to both of them, though he doesn't know where she is. When around his little brother, he turns into a Gentle Giant who will gladly read a story or carry him on his shoulders without complaint.
  • The Determinator: The main reason he's so high ranked, despite having no special powers or weapons. Aurai had to collapse a roof on top of him, taking both of his arms off, gouging out one of his eyes, and setting him on fire to stop him for a bit. Even then, he grabbed his machete with his teeth and only stopped slashing when it got shot out. Even more so, he only stopped because Nicholas wanted him to.
  • Freudian Excuse: His mother abused him and his little brother extensively, the reason for his misogynistic attitude. This reached its peak when his mother gouged out Nicholas's eyes, causing Masher to activate his Big Brother Instinct and leave her, taking his brother with him. He carries this resentment towards women to this day.
  • He-Man Woman Hater / Straw Misogynist: Pretty damn obvious. He insults both Dragola and Elena, despise the latter being far stronger than him, and does the same thing to Aurai. He chances this partially when his little brother uses an Armor-Piercing Question on him, and even more so when Aurai beats him in a fight.
  • Jerkass: No doubt about it, he's one of the top examples in this story. While he does a Freudian Excuse and Hidden Depths, he is still unrepentant about his attitude or actions.
  • Large and in Charge: He's 8 freaking feet tall, though he's also very lanky as well. Deconstructed, as he has to have surgery just so he can live normally, as his body cannot naturally support itself easily.
  • Stylish Protection Gear: Has a huge set of bronze armor along with a cape. Deconstructed, as the sheer weight of his armor causes him back pains and stress on his bones.

District # 5 Leader Stan "The Planet Slayer"
The fourth best fighter, Stan is also the Black Knight of the Carnival who has Undying Loyalty to Mr. Vangorium. He is a Noble Demon who does not like crossing the Moral Event Horizon, but he will do so if ordered to. Wields a huge Jousting Lance as a main weapon, though he can upgrade to a BFS that carries Plaque III, which accelerates an opponent's cells and nerves, making it harder for them to fight him. He first fights Aurai and attempts to kidnap her, though is interrupted by the Vault Hunters and defeated. Later, he fights Salvador and loses due to the latter's Unstoppable Rage against him. After the Carnival, he leaves alongside Elena Tear, Paige, Dragola and Brittlebine in a rocket to Neptuna.
  • Expy: Of Knight Artorias and Dragonslayer Ornstein from Dark Souls. It's even specified by the narrators (who function as Word of God in this story).
  • Jousting Lance: His main weapon in combat.
  • Lightning Bruiser: He is known for his Super-Strength, as he can easily punch through walls and platforms with only a punch.
  • Noble Demon: Has Undying Loyalty to Mr. Vangorium, but still regrets the experiments done to Aurai and the fact that he has never helped her recover. He even apologizes to her when he loses for the first time.

    District # 6 Assistant Paige
The Unfought assistant to Elena Tear, Paige is Elena's sexual partner. A Surfer Girl who is adorable with her shy interactions with Elena, she mostly serves as a side character in the story.
  • Surfer Girl: Her primary personality trait. She loves surfing with a passion, though not as much as she loves Elena.
  • The Unfought: Does not fight at all, most likely due to not receiving any combat training.

District # 6 Leader Elena Tear "Shark Maiden"
The third best fighter in the Carnival, Elena is The Stoic of the Carnival, though actually is a repressed Blood Knight who still loves to fight. She works for the Carnival to help her assistant and partner Paige with a consistent paycheck. Uses water-based powers and a deadly sword to fight her opponents. First fights Lupus Cithara, and then fights Zero in a samurai-like duel, losing both times. She appears again in the second DLC, now fighting with the Vault Hunters.

    District # 7 Leader Nitro
The second best fighter in the Carnival, Nitro is the only Nice Guy among the group as well as a Spirited Competitor who constantly seeks out good opponents to spar against. Is a Lightning Bruiser with extra Super-Speed, using the inertia and momentum to deal deadly damage to his targets. He fights Wolfenstein and surrenders before either of them die, believing it's pointless to kill one another. He fights Axton later, who pulls out a Curb-Stomp Battle due to the latter's Combat Pragmatism. He disappears for a while in the story, but went on to fight Peter Gorman in the 2nd. After that, he apparently started a racing gang in Sweeney City. Yeah, he's a huge recurring character.
  • Anti-Villain: A top example in the entire Carnival.
  • Boxing Battler: Seems to do a lot of this, though he does kick a lot as well.
  • Healing Factor: Has one, though not to the same extent as Jackal.
  • Nice Guy: The best example of this in the entire first DLC. Seriously, he's nicer than most of the heroes of the story.
  • Spirited Competitor: His primary personality trait. He loves a good fight, though he never gets nasty or impatient when told to wait or delayed.
  • Super-Speed: Is hands-down the fastest person in the story. Getting hit by him has been described to be similar to an asteroid.
  • Took a Level in Badass: At first, it seemed that he wasn't too strong when he fought (and lost) to both Wolfenstein and Axton without injuring them too greatly. Only after fighting Peter Gorman is it painfully obvious why he earned his rank.

District # 8 Leader Jackal Cash
The top fighter in the Carnival and personal assistant to Mr. Vangorium, Jackal is a One-Man Army that is at the Godzilla Threshold-level of difficulty due to his skill. He serves Mr. Vangorium due to an occult ritual that keeps him alive as long as he serves Mr. Vangorium, being completely immortal unless Vangorium releases him from it. He serves him in hopes of the ritual being broken, which does happen when Mr. Vangorium dies. After this, his current whereabouts are unknown. We know now though, as he's part of the Syndicate and one of their top members. He's working alongside the Vault Hunters inside Sweeney City.
  • Beam Spam: His primary method of attack, using his pistols. Turns out the pistols are just catalysts, he can really shoot those beams from his entire body, from his fingers to his forehead.
  • Cowboy: Obviously. He's only missing the spurs and chaps.
  • Deadpan Snarker: Not immediately evident, but definitely so considering his interactions with Edward and Hemera. He's a lot more subtle about it than most other characters in this story though.
  • Guns Akimbo: Wields two pistols that fire massive beams.
  • The Gunslinger: Though it's hard to miss when you fire something several yards wide.
  • One-Man Army: Takes on 8 Vault Hunters at once and only dies from an 11th-Hour Superpower from Dion and great teamwork. The second time, he wasn't even defeated, only surrendering due to his master's death. Now that he's back, we get to see what he's like when he stops screwing around.

Second DLC (Grave Lord Arlon's Revengathon)

    Solomon
A servant of Mortem, he is an over-dramatic Large Ham who brags about how futile it is to fight him. He dies with literally two shots, having exposed his weakness during his speech.
  • Large Ham: Loves hearing himself talk. Too bad he didn't just shut up and fight.
  • The Unfought: Technically, he died before he did anything of notable harm to the Vault Hunters. Even the zombies alongside him were not his own, being controlled by Mortem just like himself.

    Mortem

    Noyade Sable
The first real Grave Servant encountered by the Vault Hunters, he is introduced by interrogating and killing some of Bartholomew's men before fleeing once realizing he was outnumbered. He believes himself to be a Soul-Saving Crusader who worships his Grave Knight like a god. Mir does not object to this treatment, though this does not spare him from Mir's completely unwarranted murder of him.
  • Buried Alive: A favorite way to kill his victims. He can even do it while only using his powers, meaning he doesn't need any tools.
  • Dishing Out Dirt: Manipulates sand and can create his body into it.
  • Hand Cannon: His secondary weapon. It even fires his sand for his powers.
  • Knight Templar: Completely believes in Mir as a God and kills "heathens" while praying for their forgiveness. It's actually really damn disturbing.
  • Nigh-Invulnerability: Unlike Daedalus, who is more Glass Cannon than anything, he can take a ton of damage due to the nature of his power. Turns out that heating his body to an extreme temperature will damage him though, as he turns into glass and can no longer control the sand it was once composed of. Of course, Mir was the one to kill him by simply imagining he didn't exist.

    Daedalus
The second Grave Servant under Mir alongside Noyade, he originally manifests himself as a giant floating eye that shot laser beams. When that was destroyed by Simo Hathcock, he revealed his real body, which had the same abilities as his eye from beforehand. He is killed by Simo ironically, being shot right in the Grave Servant Mark from the sniper.
  • Energy Weapon: Uses these, and they are incredibly effective.
  • Faceless Eye: His first form had this, along with tentacles. It looks incredibly similar to Ramiel actually, along with the transforming shapes he does before firing and the long feminine scream.
  • Mad Scientist: Gives this kind of vibe. He analyzes humans by vaporizing them, and apparently experimented on his own body in the past due to the presence of stitches everywhere.

    Mir Volstelle
The second Grave Knight fought by the Vault Hunters, he has both Noyade and Daedalus as his Grave Servants. He originally appeared as a figure made of shadows with a blue raincoat, though as Noyade dies he reveals his childlike face. He is a remarkably cruel Sociopath who does not care about his subordinates at all, seeing himself as God and being above other people. During his fight with the Vault Hunters, he is repeatedly beaten and slowly dissolves into more insanity, awakening an inner Blood Knight tendency he didn't know he had. Represents Madness among the Grave Knights.
  • A God Am I / Mad God: More or less is this, as he can literally create anything with his mind.
  • Blood Knight: Becomes one during his fight. He even mentions how he's never wanted to win against someone before in his entire life until he fought them.
  • Cute and Psycho: Oh yeah
  • Imagination-Based Superpower / Reality Warper: His power 'to create' is this. He can make literally anything, though he has to vocalize it in a question (say, What if the sky was red?). During his fight, he gains a surge of power and no longer needs to speak to make things come to life.
  • Nigh-Invulnerable: Is this. He can simply imagine the wounds sealing up or making them not happen at all. He also does this to his weak spot, meaning that even if its struck he can just regenerate it back instantly. Ningyo goes around this by burning him alive until he can't keep up with the wounds.
  • Psychopathic Manchild: He is a cruel narcissistic psychopath who only cares about his own amusement. He averts Enfant Terrible by being a Grave Knight, meaning he is likely centuries old like the rest of them.
  • Reality Warping Is Not a Toy: Turns out being able to create everything you say or think isn't that great. The first part bites him in the ass when the Vault Hunters realize they also gained the power from his proximity, meaning they can use it against him effectively. The second part doesn't work either because anything he imagines becomes real, even his own death. He nearly dies from the second thing for that reason.

    Swarna
A Mad Artist in service to Bastien, she is deeply infatuated with Bastien and does anything he says. When she learns that Cassius is basically setting it up for Bastien to die, she betrays him and informs the Vault Hunters of Bastien and Peter's weak spots, while only wanting Bastien to remain alive.
  • Love Makes You Crazy: Betraying one of the strongest people in the series, all to save your crush, is pretty extreme. To be fair though, her plan so far has proven to be rather smart.
  • Mad Artist: Kidnaps people and makes them think she is vitally important to them, allowing her to sketch them and put them in various forms of art. It's less creepy than some of the others in the series, but is also rather odd to be honest.
  • No Sympathy Between Mooks: She and Gueule can't stand each other at all, and she didn't feel an ounce of regret when bit the dust. To be fair though, he is a bit of an ass to her.

    Gueule
One of the most monstrous Grave Knights, Gueule is barely human at all, with a huge gaping mouth and leathery skin. He's a general Jerkass who would be unlikable if he wasn't so Laughably Evil. His power is "to eat", which is Exactly What It Says on the Tin.
  • All Men Are Perverts: Oddly, one of the few examples in this entire series. He doesn't hide how much he likes the booty.
  • Big Eater: Constantly thinks about food. Makes sense, considering his powers.
  • Hero Killer: He may be funny as hell, but he still killed two of Teresa's servants as well as Tikari and Viitta, who were rather powerful in the last DLC.
  • Humanoid Abomination: Leather skin, huge distorted limbs, and a mouth that is the primary accessory on his face. He's the most disturbing Grave Servant seen so far, besides maybe Daedalus.
  • I'm a Humanitarian: Regularly eats his opponents. It's to be expected, since his power is to eat after all.
  • Laughably Evil: He makes comments and jokes that are hilarious for the few chapters he appears in. Doesn't stop him from killing 4 side characters with relative ease.
  • No Sympathy Between Mooks: He and Swarna can't stand each other at all, and she didn't feel an ounce of regret when bit the dust. To be fair though, he is a bit of an ass to her.

    Bastien De La Fontaine
A large warrior who collects weapons from the dead he fights. A deep-seated Blood Knight, he seems to hold an interesting relationship with Swarna. His power is "to adapt", nullifying damage done to him and making his body more efficient in a fight. Represents Greed among the Grave Knights.
  • Adaptive Ability: His main power revolves around this. Cut his arm? He makes it covered in plate armor. Take out an eye? He'll regrow them so they cover the side of his head. It's pretty gross, but damn effective.
  • Blood Knight: One of the most extreme versions in the entire series. He denies a chance for affection, since it would limit his access to violence, without a second thought. His power works into this, allowing him to keep fighting with different strategies.
  • Healing Factor: His adapting ability makes it hard to kill him at all because of this. Though apparently something can kill, no one knows it yet though.
  • Walking Armory: Carries a huge barrel full of weapons he got from dead humans. He likes showing them off. He also has a retractable blade in his throat that he can vomit up NarutoOrochimaru style, though it Only Works Once due to loss of the surprise factor.

    Peter Gorman
The largest Grave Knight, Peter wears armor entirely made of asphalt and wields a stop sign as a halberd. Combining The Stoic and The Quiet One, Peter is a no-nonsense warrior that is remarkably strong in a fight. His power is "to endure", making it incredibly hard to actually kill him. Represents Sacrifice among the Grave Knights.
  • Combat Pragmatist: Will interrupt you in the middle of your speech, and always targets the healer first (Aurai). He's so strong, they had to call for back-up from Nitro, the second-strongest man from the previous DLC.
  • Due to the Dead: Has a high amount of reverence to comrades who die, especially Mir. Considering he represents Sacrifice, he likely has to deal with this a lot.
  • Hates Being Touched: Though it might have just been because Gueule had been the one to touch him.
  • Lightning Bruiser: Wearing pure asphalt doesn't slow him down for a second. He literally just appears half the time in a fight, and he hits like a freight train. Though Nitro can apparently tank the punches and block them easily.
  • Super-Strength: He once punched a street and burst the pipeline beneath it, as well as instantly knocking out tanky Masher, a feat that is not to be understated.
  • Super-Toughness: His power. It's been stated by Swarna dropping nukes on him doesn't even slow him down. It's very impressive.

    Vincent Lebeau
One of Cassius's most loyal men, Vincent has the power "to cut", which means he can sever practically anything with the strings that come from his body.
  • Eye Beams: It's the truest form of his power. It's completely unblockable, and acts like a point-and-click weapon that goes through anything. It's damn effective.
  • The Fighting Narcissist: Oh so very much. He of course prides himself on his appearance, and rates things based on how "ugly" or "beautiful" they are.
  • Mad Artist: Probably the most psychopathic version of this seen in the story so far. He finds the death of his comrades to be beautiful, and probably would've found his own demise beautiful.
  • Razor Floss: His power manifests as this. Only Elizabeth Bathory's hand seemed to resist it, and even that bled just from holding them.

    Tamara Kuznetsov
The second woman Grave Knight, Tamara accompanies Cassius most of the time and often reacts violently to her comrade's mischief. While her power was never directly explained, she seems to have control over magma.
  • Jerkass: The best example of this in the second DLC. When the Bellum employeees "killed" Adamo, she laughed at him and called him a "shitty drug dealer". She's not exactly a likeable person.
  • Magma Man: Magma Woman specifically.

    Adamo Caro
Another of Cassius's loyal soldiers, Adamo dresses like a Mob boss and is often smoking cigars. Has the power "to warp", meaning he can deflect attacks coming anywhere close to his body.
  • Logical Weakness: He says he can warp anything he sees. So that means if he can't see or understand what you're doing...
  • Smoking Is Cool: Seems to believe this. The Mob uniform and cigars definitely help.
  • Space Master: He can deflect and warp anything near his body, including other's bodies. It would've been invincible except he has to understand what his opponent is doing to use it.

Third DLC (Eddy Tsar's Five Weeks of Hell)

    Crackhead
The bruiser of the Junkies, Crackhead is a cocaine addict and wields a sledgehammer axe combination known as a sledgeaxe. Imprisoned for drug possession and murder.
  • The Brute: Definitely comes across as this, preferring to charge headlong into a fight without planning. It works though.

    Twitch
The tactical head of the Junkies, Twitch is a meth addict who knows every part of the prison with great accuracy. He has the ability to teleport and "glitch" out of the system. Imprisoned for drug smuggling.
  • Nervous Wreck: Is often twitching and panicking at the slightest things, though he still manages to have fluctating moments of extreme arrogance.
  • Teleport Spam: His power in a nutshell. He can even grab objects and tear them as he teleports, using it as a makeshift Portal Cut. He even brags about it.

    Mary Jane
The leader of the Junkies, Mary Jane is a pothead that nonetheless is the most terrifying of her group for a good reason. She can control fog that seems to be able to absorb people into it, killing them in the process. She was imprisoned for conspiracy murder.
  • Achilles' Heel: Her power causes all the memories of those she's absorbed to constantly assault her mind, giving her headaches. It also seems to cause insanity, if her word is to be taken.
  • The Assimilator: Her fog absorbs people she kills, granting her their strength. She doesn't get their powers like Mockingbird though.
  • Boxing Battler: When she actually fights. Because her power allowed her to absorb hundreds of people's strength, she hits so hard the air gets thrown along with the punch.
  • Fog of Doom: Whatever the hell it is, everyone is terrified of it. Mary even explains that weaker people are quickly absorbed into it without a fight. It seems one can resist it with sufficient power though.
  • The Dreaded: Among all the Junkies and even other gang members. Doctor Ivanlove even states that if you fight her, it's best to have some kind of suicide option if you're losing, because she will make you wish you died before she's done with you.

    Davis Dalhmer
The leader of the Sexual Deviants, one of the few gangs not involved in the five week competition.
  • Affably Evil / Faux Affably Evil: Could be either one. While he is extremely polite to Eddy Tsar, he is also an obvious rapist with extreme sociopathic tendencies.
  • Berserk Button: Swearing. He absolutely despises it. Though he goes into Dissonant Serenity instead of anger.
    • Comparing him to Mockingbird, however, is a horrible idea and will gain you a Death Glare that stops even Amon in his tracks.
  • Bondage Is Bad / Brains and Bondage: Zig-zags between the two. While he is noted as polite and refined, it's clearly visible that what he does is the furthest thing from Safe, Sane, and Consensual.
  • Cold-Blooded Torture: Takes Mary Jane from her fight and gives her hundreds of piercings, with extra ones on her face and genitals. It's so bad that the Zealot, a professional criminal, vomited upon seeing it.
  • Death Seeker: To an extent. He specifically is looking for pain so unreal it 'feels' like death, but he does not want to die from it.
  • Disproportionate Retribution: Zodd (The Anarchist leader) rips the piercings out of his lips to try and intimidate him. He responds by violently giving him a Glasgow Grin just like his own.
  • The Dreaded: Dear mother of God, even other gang leaders are terrified of him. Mary Jane was visibly shaking and shivering at the thought he had her in his sights.
  • Family-Values Villain: Hates swearing with a passion, frequently citing that it makes people look "ugly". Nothing else hints towards any other positive traits though.
  • Glasgow Grin: Likely self-inflicted too. Like Kakihara from Ichi the Killer, he keeps it closed with piercings so it doesn't flop open, as it never healed properly.
  • Serial Rapist: His backstory more likely than not. He is a Deviant after all.
  • Soft-Spoken Sadist: Even when interrupting Eddy Tsar, he never raised his voice or even broke his smile. It actually makes him creepier.
  • The Sociopath: Has outdone pretty much all the others in all the stories so far. He even mentions that besides his gang, he simply views everyone else as conduits to vent his sexual desires.
  • Tongue Trauma: Proposes cutting off the tip of his tongue as punishment for what he did to Mary Jane. Note that he didn't care if they said yes or no, he was doing it anyway. He even enjoyed it!
  • Too Kinky to Torture: In case being a hardcore sadomasochist wasn't a big hint, he cut the tip of his own tongue off and apparently had an erection while doing it.

    Croix Sonore "Demon of Song"
A Musical Assassin working as a Watchdog for the Universal Government. Used to be a member of the Syndicate before betraying Edward the Kidd and getting his wife killed.
  • Musical Assassin: Can emit sound waves so powerful they can actually injure Edward in his Metal Titan form, and is the first person who
  • Smug Snake: Loves taunting Edward with how he betrayed him.

     Wallace "Marshall"
A former Syndicate member turned Watchdog, Wallace seems to have known Vladimir Cain before betraying them. Uses a massive chunk of scrap metal as a prosthetic blade on his right arm.
  • BFS: His sword is MASSIVE, almost the size of a sedan. Especially notable, as he's ordinary size.
  • The Brute: Goes charging into any fights he encounters, swinging and howling like a mad man.

    Jefferson "The Hanged Man"
One of the two Watchdogs sent in after Wallace and Croix are forced out of the competition. Jefferson is the Blue Oni to Amon's Red, being far more calm and composed than he is.

    Amon "Skeleton Jack"
One of the two Watchdogs sent in after Wallace and Croix are forced out of the competition.Amon is more than a little Ax-Crazy, to the point where he freaks out other members of the same prison.
  • Ax-Crazy: It says a lot that a character can say the line youngster and made it disturbing as hell, though it helps he just ripped a gangster's eye out and crushed it.
  • Cloud Cuckoolander: Mixed heavily with ultra-violent tendencies. He ripped a man's eye out to make sure it was steel blue and not just blue.
  • The Dreaded: Seems to have this reputation, though it's unknown if just he has it or if both him and his partner have it.
  • Even Evil Has Standards: Surprisingly, he absolutely loathes the Deviants, particularly Davis, and even mentions going on a "Fifth Crusade" if such rapists were allowed back into regular society. It seems to be his only unquestionably good trait.
  • Evil Old Folks: Looks his age, and is completely and utterly vicious.
  • Troll: Oh yeah. When a gangster tries to mug them by simply saying "Possessions", Amon goes on a long rant how that isn't a complete sentence and that no one would be able to interpret what he was saying.

     Humbert
One of Davis's lieutenants and a pedophile Deviant. His twin brother Francois and him rarely get along, frequently resulting in violent Twin Banter, though they work masterfully as a team.
  • Creepy Twins: These guys make John and Jane look like members of the Boys and Girls Club.
  • Dash Attack: His super speed manifests as this.
  • PædoHunt: Duh. Though out of all the Deviants, he seems to treat his submissives the best. Of course, we haven't seen enough of it in order to figure it out.
  • Slippery Skid: An offensive version at that. According to Richard, his power is literally to "get wet".

     Francois
One of Davis's lieutenants and a necrophiliac Deviant. His twin brother Humbert and him rarely get along, frequently resulting in violent Twin Banter, though they work masterfully as a team.
  • Creepy Twins: These guys make John and Jane look like members of the Boys and Girls Club.
  • I Love the Dead: Comes with being a necrophiliac.
  • Mighty Glacier: Is slower than his brother, but is stupid strong.
  • Super-Strength: Has absolutely inhuman strength. By attaching a tendril to Jefferson (who apparently is a massive human being already), he could throw him around the room without even trying.

     Catherine
One of Davis's lieutenants and the only female Deviant with a name. She has had the least screentime of the lot, only implying her fetish.
