Sole Survivor
A sarcastic Zafara with a negative worldview.
First Neopets fan character.
- Breaking Old Trends: Angel neither appeared in the season preview, nor the cover art in the season's deviantArt gallery, while every other winner to date had done so. Despite that, Angel ends up winning anyway.
- Brutal Honesty: She's not one to sugarcoat her opinions.
- Dark Horse Victory: She pulled off no major moves compared to the flashier and more dominant games of Eli and Sunflower, but using her wits to evade his method of targeting and having friends on the jury helped her earn the win in the end.
- Deadpan Snarker
- Gamer Chick: She prefers the company of video games to that of people.
- Hates Everyone Equally: She freely admits that she hates most people. She does get along with Whitney and Tialayla, though.
- Hidden Depths: She gets surprisingly philosophical when questioned at Mariano's first Tribal Council.
- Jerk with a Heart of Gold: Angel rarely gets through a conversation without including an insult or backhanded comment of some kind. However, her interactions with Whitney and Tialayla show that she does have a nicer side around people that she actually likes.
- Last of Their Kind: The only member of Mariano to reach the final 4.
- No-Sell: She's unfazed by the insults of Casey, Claus, and Juiced Up, mostly because she (correctly) considers them to be complete idiot.
- No Social Skills: She's not good with people, and this is pointed out by other castaways. Ironically, she ends up winning because she was friends with most of the jury.
- Out of Focus: She tends to stay in the background and occasionally emerge to make a snarky comment, usually at someone else's expense. She actually invoked this in order to avoid Eli's edit-based targeting strategy.
- Sarcasm Failure: After Whitney's elimination, she's too shocked to come up with any witty comments about it.
- A happier version of this occurs after she wins.
- Sitcom Arch-Nemesis: With the Three Stooges, and later, Eli's alliance.
- The Smart Guy: For the Mariano Alliance.
- The Snark Knight: Her defining characteristic. Nary an episode goes by without her pointing out the flaws in everything and everyone she sees.
- Sole Survivor: The eleventh.
- Surrounded by Idiots: Sums up her general worldview.
- Weak, but Skilled: She's one of the most physically weak players in the game, but smart enough to keep slipping through tough situations.
- Wrong Genre Savvy: She mentions that she had bought some wilderness survival games in an attempt to learn survival skills. Needless to say, they did nothing to prepare her for camp life.
Runner-Ups
A Survivor superfan who knows how every season could be edited, from the real show to even the fan interpretation of the game.
First Survivor: Fan Characters fan character.
Returned for Season 16: Blood VS Water.
- Ascended Fanboy: The DEFINITION of this trope.
- Because Destiny Says So/Screw Destiny: Flip-flops between the two when the situation calls for it. If he sees something he considers a "flag" or foreshadowing, such as taking an offhand comment by Sexygirlxo as proof she'll be around until at least Day 10, he'll usually accept it as inevitable. If he sees something that he considers a "flag" or foreshadowing that will end up costing him the game, such as the inevitability that Crisco, Artemis and Flaithri would be the Final Three of the season, he'll do everything he can to change it.
- Comical Overreacting
- Decoy Protagonist: Invoked this multiple times, eliminating all the people he thought to have a good enough edit to win. Ironically, he is also this, having by far the most screentime in the season, but losing to Angel in the end.
- Eyeless Face: Can become this if extremely worried, which happens quite a lot.
- Fatal Flaw: Relying too much on his edit reading led to Angel sneaking into the finals and barely winning the jury vote.
- Foil: To Paine.
- Fourth-Wall Observer: Manages to be this while competing on the season itself.
- Hoist by His Own Petard: Allowed himself to get so caught up in sensing edits to the point where he ended up allowing Angel to win.
- Irony: He lost Survivor to a woman who didn't appear in the preview, and was Out of Focus the entire premerge. Also, that woman pretended to have a terrible edit to get past the final vote, similar to how Eli himself changed Claus's edit to eliminate him.
- Keet
- Large Ham: Even his facial expressions are ham-tastic. Slightly less so as the season goes on, though.
- Leaning on the Fourth Wall
- Loony Fan
- Medium Awareness: Knew his conversation with Paine was going to be cut short, because they were in the last frame of the day's comic.
- Motor Mouth: When he really gets into fanboy mode, he talks like this.
- Odd Friendship: With Paine.
- Red Oni, Blue Oni: The red to Paine's blue.
- Self-Fulfilling Prophecy: Often a result of him seeing "flags" or foreshadowing is him inadvertently doing everything in his power to make it happen rather than trying to change it.
- Shipper on Deck: Despite having nothing in common, he was egging on Tialayla to get together with Paine.
- Squee: Does this after finding a hidden idol.
- Wrong Genre Savvy: Some of the character roles Eli assigns to the other contestants come true but not with the characters he thought they would; he initially thinks that Rosemary is a lock as an endgamer with a "shy female learns how to be confident and assertive" story, but this description turns out to apply to Sunflower better. He also thinks that Tialayla is a threat because of her edit as the outsider/loner who barely survives from vote to vote but pulls off an underdog win in the end, but completely overlooks Angel who fits that description to a T too.
- Zany Scheme: The Lembotto.
The first quadruped pony in SFC. This earth pony loves planting flowers and knows how to make friends, but initially has trouble adjusting to the idea of Survivor.
First My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic fan character.
- Apologetic Attacker: In immunity challenges.
- Beware the Nice Ones: She blindsides Flaithri without even voting for him, and immediately afterwards leads the vote to eliminate Artemis.
- Break the Cutie: She spent the majority of the first half of the season crying over how cruel she thought the game was.
- Then there was the Final Tribal Council...
- Can't Hold Her Liquor
- Friend to All Living Things
- Green Thumb
- Humiliation Conga: The jury was vindictive.
- Loophole Abuse: Fulfills her obligation to her alliance and votes for Eli, but then promptly uses an Immunity Idol to save him, voiding her OWN vote.
- Rewarded as a Traitor Deserves: Her game was ripped apart at the Final Tribal Council, and she received no votes to win.
- Sixth Ranger: For the Mariano Alliance.
- Stupid Good: At first, the thought of voting someone off is unthinkable to her, and realizing that the other tribe voted off one of their members was enough to drive her to tears.
- Super Drowning Skills: She panics immediately in a water-based immunity challenge and has to be helped out by Artemis. Later on, Tialayla teaches her to swim, but she still doesn't like water.
- Took a Level in Badass: Once she learns to stand up for herself.
The Jury
A stuffed tiger brought to life in the game.
First Calvin and Hobbes fan character.
- Foil: To Eli.
- Insufferable Genius: A light example. Thankfully this gets toned down.
- Odd Friendship: With Eli.
- Only Sane Man: He plays this role in every alliance he joins, as well as the season in general.
- The Philosopher
- Red Oni, Blue Oni: The blue to Eli's red.
- Shocking Elimination: He was the favorite to win... then Eli pulled one last move.
- Voluntary Shapeshifting: He can switch between stuffed animal form and living form at will.
An arrogant scientist with little to no social skills.
First Half-Life fan character.
- Funetik Aksent
- Genius Bruiser: Word of God says that he was the smartest castaway of the season, as well as one of the strongest. However, his arrogance caused him to waste all of his potential.
- Harmless Villain
- Hearing Voices
- Insufferable Genius: He thinks he's this.
- Know-Nothing Know-It-All: He's actually this.
- Jerkass
- Obliviously Evil: He thinks he's the hero of the story. He's a villain instead.
- Out of Focus: Until Juiced Up's elimination.
- Sanity Slippage: After Juiced Up gets eliminated, he becomes even more delusional and unhinged.
- Small Name, Big Ego
- Sore Loser: He wouldn't even give a Fallen Comrades speech.
A quiet ranch girl who loves to play the game, and loves animals.
Second Harvest Moon fan character.
- Decoy Protagonist: Word of God stated he was writing the merge to make it look like she was going to win.
- The Heart: For the Mariano Alliance.
- Friend to All Living Things
- Hair of Gold, Heart of Gold
- Nice Girl
- Out of Focus
A guido from Jersey who has a massive ego.
First Jersey Shore fan character.
- Dumb Muscle: The strongest castaway, but by far one of the dumbest.
- Harmless Villain: He's extremely annoying and rude, but has zero ability to strategize.
- Jerkass
- No-Damage Run: Due to Eli's absurd Lembotto play, Juiced Up gets voted out without ever receiving a vote against him.
- Politically Incorrect Villain: Throws out sexist and homophobic remarks on a regular basis.
- Small Name, Big Ego: He thinks that he's an elite-level player. He really isn't.
- Sore Loser
- Straw Misogynist
- Unknown Rival: He thinks that he's battling with Flay for control of the tribe, but Flay doesn't pay him any mind.
- Who Names Their Kid "Dude"?: He legally changed his name. It was originally James.
A sarcastic tiger-girl who somehow cannot catch a break.
Second Second Life fan character.
Returned for Season 16: Blood VS Water.
- Action Girl: She was the driving force behind the Hantz tribe's only immunity win.
- Born Unlucky: No matter how hard she tries, she can never seem to get out of the minority.
- The Chew Toy: Almost nothing ever goes her way, and few times it does, it gets subverted almost immediately.
- Combat Pragmatist: Has no qualms with kicking Juiced Up in the groin if it means she can win a challenge.
- Deadpan Snarker: Her general method of dealing with her atrocious luck.
- Furry Confusion: Brings this up once.
- The Tease: Towards Paine in an episode to mess with him.
A lazy, but surprisingly resourceful Lombax.
First Ratchet & Clank fan character.
Came back for Season 20: Generations.
- Acro Fatic: Averted.
- Ain't No Rule: He's pulled off some challenge wins via... less-than-straightforward means.
- The Big Guy: For the Mariano Alliance.
- Brilliant, but Lazy: He even uses his brilliance to find more ways to be lazy!
- Cool Big Bro: To Whitney. She even calls him "big bro Dwayne".
- Fat Bastard: Subverted. Despite his laziness, he's actually a pretty decent guy.
- Gadgeteer Genius: He sets up a lot of useful innovations around camp to make life easier.
- Hidden Depths: He's way more useful than you would expect a fat guy who just wants to do nothing all day to be.
A hedgehog/fox girl who may seem nice, but can be very, very bitter.
Eighth Sonic The Hedgehog fan character.
- Anti-Hero: Type I at first, but slips down the scale.
- Decoy Protagonist: Word of God stated he was writing the pre-merge to make it look like she was going to win.
- Face–Heel Turn: She seemed pretty nice at first, but as the season wore on, she became more controlling and aggressive. When she appears in a later season's cast assessment, she's even more irate.
- Hoist by Her Own Petard: She encouraged Sunflower to stand up for her friends, not knowing that Sunflower considered Eli and Paine to be those friends. This led to her and Flaithri's eliminations.
- Kick the Dog: Her jury speech against Sunflower was by far the cruelest.
- The Lancer: For the Mariano Alliance
- Sacrificial Lion: Eli went as far as to say that she would be the winner in a normal season. This is not a normal season.
- Sore Loser
- Took a Level in Jerkass: See Face–Heel Turn above.
Eliminated
A quarian who manages to secure a big alliance, and can be nice.
First Mass Effect fan character.
- Anti-Hero: Type III.
- Graceful Loser: Took his blindside well. In fact, he's the only one of the Mariano's to not be bitter at Sunny, but since he doesn't make the jury, it doesn't do her any good.
- In-Series Nickname: Flay
- The Leader: For the Mariano Alliance.
- Muscles Are Meaningless: Despite being the biggest guy on his tribe, he uses most of his strength to carry his gear around, expending any energy he has for challenges.
- Nice Guy: He plays hard, but doesn't hold any ill will towards his opponents.
- The Rival: To Crisco
- Running Gag: A meta version. Flaithri's creator would frequently claim that he was getting eliminated almost every episode, even though he was clearly safe. Ironically, Flaithri got booted once the joke got dropped.
- Sacrificial Lion: Was shaping up to be a strategic anti-hero... until Sunflower figured out who her true friends were.
- Shocking Elimination
- The Strategist
An eagle who treats his game and his tribe as a business.
Second Kirby fan character.
- Bad Boss: Makes multiple analogies between the tribe and his company, and plans on eliminating all his tribesmates to establish ties with Mariano.
- Chronic Backstabbing Disorder
- Captain Ersatz: For Donald Trump, of all people.
- Disc-One Final Boss
- Faux Affably Evil
- Good Animals, Evil Animals: Averted. He's an eagle that serves as the Big Bad of the Hantz tribe.
- Manipulative Bastard
- The Rival: To Flay
- Sacrificial Lion: Had a endgame story typical of a strategic villain... until Eli flipped the script.
- Self-Made Man: Mentioned by Jeff in the cast preview.
- Shocking Elimination
- Smug Snake
- Team Killer: His pre-merge strategy.
A woman who probably spends way too much time playing her "Charity Games".
First Tengaged fan character.
- Attention Whore
- Cassandra Truth: Tried to warn the others of Crisco's intentions, but her earlier attitude killed her chances of anyone believing her.
- Fiery Redhead
- It's All About Me
- Jerkass
- Lady Swears-a-Lot
- Small Name, Big Ego
- Verbal Tic: Often uses hashtags in her speech.
- Wrong Genre Savvy: Sexygirlxo has all the right skills she needs to survive... in an online Survivor game.

First Power Stone fan character.

- Goggles Do Nothing
- Rewarded as a Traitor Deserves: After voting off Bradlyn, she tried to go back to Crisco. Guess who he wanted gone next?
- Shipper on Deck: Despite having nothing in common, she was egging on Paine to get together with Tialayla.
A country club man who lost his wife and son in an accident. Actually, his son didn't die in the accident...
First Final Destination fan character.
- Ambiguously Evil: He is.
- Entitled Bastard: He has an undeservedly high opinion of himself.
- Offing the Offspring: Heavily implied to have killed his own son to expand his lifespan, escaping Death's list. SWSU has confirmed that this was indeed the case.
- Smug Snake: Pretty much everything he says has an undercurrent of smugness to it.
- Sore Loser: He threatens to sue Honey after he gets voted out. His Fallen Comrades speech shows that he's still not over it.
- Straw Misogynist: He has a pretty low opinion of women, and acts pretty creepily towards Honey.
- Would Hurt a Child: See Offing the Offspring.
A schoolyard bully who thinks that he and his alliance are in complete control of their tribe.
First Recess fan character.
- The Bully: And proud of it.
- Fat Bastard: In a season with a few hefty characters, he's the only wholly unlikable one.
- Forgotten Fallen Friend: Sort of. After his elimination, Juiced Up and Claus remember him, but they can't remember his name.
- Hypocritical Humor: Makes a lot of cracks about Angel's weight... despite himself being one of the most overweight contestants of the season.
- Jerkass: He doesn't have a nice word to say about anyone, particularly Angel.
- The Millstone: Bad at challenges and caused his tribe to lose an entire day's catch of fish.
- According to Word of God, out of all the season's contestants, he ranks dead last in both physical strength and intelligence.
- Running Gag: Juiced Up and Claus keep forgetting his name. Turns into an Ascended Meme in the comments.
- Small Name, Big Ego: He thinks he's one of the best players in the series. Truth is, he's one of the worst.
- Satellite Character: For Claus and Juiced Up.
A cosplayer who loves to act as whoever she dresses up.
Second Lucky Star fan character.
- Berserk Button: Do not make her break character.
- The Roleplayer: Her real name is Sally. Moe'mi is just another persona.
- Serious Business: Her cosplaying.
A middle-aged woman whose husband and two children died under mysterious circumstances, who signed up for Survivor to get over the demons of her past.
Fourth The Sims fan character.
- Black Comedy: The story of how her family died was written specifically to be darkly hilarious, given how they were explained to be exact circumstances under which many players have actually killed off Sims.
- Dark and Troubled Past
- The Load: Performed poorly on the first challenge, and gave up at the tail end of it. This was one of the reasons for her elimination.
- We Hardly Knew Ye: She was eliminated first.
