Click here to see him in the sequel

Izayoi is a main character as well as the most powerful of the problem children. He is the holder of a powerful gift known as "Code Unknown".

  • The Ace: He's amazing at basically everything.
  • Anti-Magic: His Gift can destroy other Gifts.
  • Asskicking Leads to Leadership: He gains the status of Candidate of Origin after oneshoting a pure blood dragon in volume 4.
  • Badass Boast: Izayoi does this in episode 3 as part of a plan to restore Jin's community by proclaiming that Jin is going to take down the demon lords. He tells him that since they have nothing else to go on, they need a symbol to go by, hence naming the leader of their community.
  • Beyond the Impossible: Izayoi's modus operandi is to punch anything and everything into submission. Nothing wrong with that but when his enemy unleashes a Kamehame Hadoken of petrification and he beats up the beam as if it were made of glass, he baffles everyone. At one point, a mist is released that is said will "kill anyone it touches". Izayoi's response? kick it away!!!!
  • Big Brother Mentor: He teaches Jin how to be a better leader while acting as something of a Cool Big Bro to the little boy.
  • Bookworm: He spends most of his time in libraries reading books.
  • Character Catchphrase: Izayoi shouts "Sharakusai!" defiantly when an opponent unleashes a finishing move. It means "Cheeky, impudent" and usually is translated something like "In your dreams!" or "Not happening!" or "That's what you think!"
  • Curb-Stomp Battle: Regularly ends battles with a single punch or kick, such as the water serpent goddess in the first episode, and Perseus later on.
  • Did You Just Punch Out Cthulhu?: Does this multiple times to various gods and demons in Little Garden.
  • The Gadfly: Takes an equal amount of pleasure out of fighting and making fun of Kurousagi.
  • Genius Bruiser: He's not just a "punch everything" kind of guy; he can also memorize the positions and suits of 53 cards at once.
  • Happily Adopted: Adopted by Canaria when he was younger.
  • The Hedonist: "Having fun" is his number one priority.
  • Heroes Fight Barehanded: Doesn't use anything besides his fists and feet in combat.
  • Hypercompetent Sidekick: While Jin is the official leader of their community, Izayoi has the more powerful Gift and strategies that keep winning the games for their community. He also has the self-confidence Jin lacks and helps Jin grow some backbone to be a better leader.
  • Ironic Echo: To Perseus.
  • Japanese Politeness: Averted; he is condescending to most people he addresses, be it allies, gods, or demons.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: For all his rudeness and Blood Knight tendencies, his actions towards others who are on his side, usually serve some kind of goal that is beneficial for them. Gets lampshaded by Leticia.
  • Light 'em Up: He later can create a giant pillar of light that he swings at his enemy.
  • Lightning Bruiser: Has super strength, can run at third cosmic velocity, and can take quite a bit of punishment.
  • Muscles Are Meaningless: He is thin but his strength is tremendous.
  • New Powers as the Plot Demands: His Gift is deliberately defined as "unknown" so he can often show off a new use of his abilities when the plot demands it.
  • One-Man Army: This guy can taken on gods and demons by his lonesome.
  • Parental Abandonment: When he was younger, his parents left him at a foster care facility and never returned. This is actually a lie. He was actually taken away from his family when he was younger by Canaria because of his powerful gift.
  • Person of Mass Destruction: His gift is said to be able to destroy stars.
  • Pyrrhic Victory: Despite the fact that Azi Dahaka was defeated, Izayoi wasn't satisfied as he felt like he stole the win.
  • Smarter Than You Look: Lampshaded by Kurousagi when Izayoi figures out Perseus' plan:
Kurousagi: "Izayoi-san, are you actually smart?"
  • Spiky Hair: He has light blonde hair which spikes downwards in all directions.
  • Stepford Smiler: It has been stated a few times in-universe that Izayoi uses his frivolous smile as a mask to hide what he is actually feeling.
  • The Strategist: Comes up with the solutions to all of the gift games that the No Names have taken part in up to date. Even lampshaded in volume 8 where Asuka mentions that they don't have a plan because he is not there to make one for them.
  • Super-Strength: Part of his gift; he can throw rocks like they're meteorites, can crawl on walls by shoving his hands into them, and can destroy structures with punches or kicks.
  • Taking the Bullet: He pushes Kurousagi out of the way of an attack from Azi Dahaka at the end of book 7.
  • Tsurime Eyes: His slanted eyes highlight his tough guy personality.
  • Unskilled, but Strong: When your main source of power is Anti-Magic and Super-Strength, you really don't need to be skilled to use it.
  • Unstoppable Rage: After Highness curbstomps Kurousagi.
  • Violence Really Is the Answer: Often uses violence as a means of problem solving.
  • When All You Have Is a Hammer…: While Izayoi has been shown to have some intellect and good observational skills, it seems his solution to every fight is "punch it as hard as you can." Interestingly, the first time he doesn't win a Gift Game is also the first time "punch the bejeezus out of everything" wasn't a legitimate way to win.
  • Willfully Weak: As impossible it is true. Growing up, he realized that if he truly let himself go he'd probably destroy the world, so he suppressed his own power with mental blocks. Prior to arriving at Little Garden, Canaria predicted that this would hold him back and made arrangements with Baron La Croix to help Izayoi get over it, which works. However, Izayoi still consciously holds himself back in fights to avoid hurting his friends and allies. Until His Highness hit Izayoi's Berserk Button, and Izayoi stopped holding back for the first time ever.

  • Ojou: Daughter of a major financial group. Izayoi is given to calling her this in lieu of her name.

  • Red Is Heroic: She's one of the main heroes and her primary outfit is a red dress.
  • Spoiled Sweet: Though initially coming off as a spoiled and entitled rich girl, Asuka is actually a warm, compassionate person whose main goal in Little Garden is to understand others.
