Touya spots Renee in the group, listening very intently.
  • Street Urchin: She was a homeless orphan stealing to survive when Touya met her. He rescued her under the condition that she'd never steal again.

     Elluka Patolakshe

Elluka Patolakshe

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/elluka.png
A famous Gollem technician from the Reverse World who's often heralded as one of the world's top five Gollem technologists. She eventually moved to Brunhild and became their resident Gollem expert. She's the older sister of Norn.
  • The Beastmaster: She's the master of Fenrir, Anubis, and Bastet, a series of Gollems based on animals.
  • Big Sister Instinct: She adopted a menacing demeanor after she heard a false rumor that Touya was trying to romance her little sister.
  • Canon Character All Along: Like her sister Norn, Elluka is already an established canon character from Chrono Crown.
  • Heterosexual Life-Partners: Her and Dr. Babylon almost instantly hit it off and spend almost all of their time together tinkering with new inventions up in Babylon's research lab.
  • Mad Scientist: Downplayed. She's often regarded as the Reverse World's equivalent to Dr. Babylon. That said, she pales in this regard when compared to some of her Gollem-tinkering colleagues.
  • Manchild: She would travel the world at her leisure, leaving her little sister to clean up her messes. When confronted by said sister, she flew into a panic and refused to see her to avoid her wrath.
  • Opaque Nerd Glasses: She wears a pair of glasses noted to be so thick that they resemble the bottoms of glass bottles.
  • The Magnificent: Known as the Restoration Queen.
  • Unkempt Beauty: She's noted as being a very attractive woman, but her odd manner of dressing typically offsets this fact.

    Fenrir, Anubis, and Bastet

Fenrir, Anubis, and Bastet

  • Intellectual Animal: Despite being robots, all three of them are essentially animals with human-level intelligence.
  • Mechanical Animals: All three of them are this, and are said to be indistinguishable from real animals.
  • Robot Dog: Fenrir and Anubis, naturally.
  • Sliding Scale of Robot Intelligence: Despite being based on animals, all three of them fall under level 4. They're capable of speech, they have their own personalities, and have human-level intelligence.

Knight Order

     Lain Netherland

Voiced by: Emi Hirayama (Japanese)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/lain_netherland.png
A rabbit beastwoman knight from Mismede who left to join Brunhild's knights. When it was decided to create a formal knight order, she was chosen to be the Commander.

  • Cool Sword: Used a longsword when she served Mismede, and as a knight of Brunhild she wields a phrasium longsword.
  • Lady Looks Like a Dude: When Touya first met her, he mistook her for a man.
  • Little Bit Beastly: She has the ears and jumping prowess of a rabbit.
  • Master of All: She briefly gains all of Touya's powers during the final battle against the Mutant Phrase through the use of a magic app that had been distributed to everyone's smartphones.
  • Meaningful Rename: To better befit her status as Knight Commander, Touya gave her the family name of Netherland, as a reference to Netherland Dwarf Rabbits.
  • Reluctant Ruler: Downplayed, as it was merely the position of Knight Commander she didn't want.
  • Super-Hearing: Thanks to her rabbit ears.

     Nikola Strand
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/nikola.png
A fox beastman from Mismede and sub-commander of Brunhild's knight order. He's the nephew of merchant Olba Strand.
  • Ace Custom: Pilots a Knight Baron with a gatling gun attachment
  • Berserk Button: During the survival phase of the second recruitment drive, he overhears a group of racist participants mocking some demi human and demonkin participants. He personally opts to knock them out and disqualify them.
  • Chick Magnet: Not as much as Touya, but he's said to have the eye of a lot of the female knights in the order.
  • Little Bit Beastly: He has the ears and tail of a fox.
  • Master of All: He briefly gains all of Touya's powers during the final battle against the Mutant Phrase through the use of a magic app that had been distributed to everyone's smartphones.
  • The One Guy: The only guy among Touya's first knights and later Knight Captains

     Nore Siberia
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/nore.png
A wolf beastwoman from Mismede and sub-commander of Brunhild's knight order. She's the younger sister of Garm, the captain of Mismede's knight order.

     Rebecca

Voiced by: Sarah Emi Bridcutt (Japanese), Brianna Roberts (English)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/rebecca_in_another_world_with_my_smartphone_2.png
An adventurer from Sandora who Touya met as her party was rescuing a group of slaves. She eventually joined Brunhild's knight order.
  • Knight in Shining Armor: Her group protected and cared for the former slaves. She had aspirations to be a knight and once she became one of Brunhild she suggested uniform equipment for the new order of knights, the first to wear Brunhild's mithril armor and wield Phrasium weapons.
  • Mistaken for Romance: Touya jokingly asked if she and Logan opted to join his knight order together because they were getting married, which the two rather angrily denied, as Logan was already seeing someone.
  • Slave Liberation: She, Logan, and Will were hired to help transport cargo across Sandora, but immediately turned on their employer when they learned that the cargo was a group of girls who were kidnapped and enslaved.

     Logan

Voiced by: Wataru Komada (Japanese)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/logan_in_another_world_with_my_smartphone_2.png
An adventurer from Sandora who, alongside Rebecca, rescued a group of slaves before meeting Touya. He eventually joined Brunhild's knight order.
  • Mistaken for Romance: Touya jokingly asked if he and Rebecca opted to join his knight order together because they were getting married, which the two rather angrily denied, as Logan was already seeing someone.
  • Slave Liberation: He, Rebecca, and Will were hired to help transport cargo across Sandora, but immediately turned on their employer when they learned that the cargo was a group of girls who were kidnapped and enslaved.
  • The Worf Effect: A friendly version in which defeating him in sparring showcase the skill of friendly opponents, Hilda and Spica both skilled combatant that defeated him.

Lushade, Samsa, Lakshy, Mulette, and Charlette
A group of demonkin from Xenoahs who traveled to Brunhild to join its knight order during the first recruitment drive. They are a vampire, ogre, alraune, and pair of Lamia twins respectively.
  • Aliens of London: Rather humorously, Samsa speaks with a Scottish accent.
  • Always Identical Twins: Touya often has trouble telling the two Lamia sisters apart. When they point out that their scale patterns are different, he still can't tell the difference.
  • I Want Grandkids: After visiting family in Xenoahs, Mulette and Charlette complain about their parents hassling them to lay eggs already.
  • Good Fortune from God: As a result of working alongside him for so long, Lakshy eventually becomes a beneficiary of the God of Agriculture's divinity.
  • Non-Action Guy: Of the five of them, only Lushade actively participates in combat. The rest of them work under Naito's division of the order, with Samsa working in construction, Lakshy working in agriculture, and the Lamia twins doing clerical work in the castle.
  • Older Than They Look: Lushade, despite looking like he's in his twenties, is over sixty years old.
  • Our Ogres Are Hungrier: Physically, Samsa bears closer resemblance to the Japanese Oni than any western depictions of ogres. And while they are tall and muscular, ogres are an intelligent species that can peacefully live alongside humans.
  • Our Vampires Are Different: Lushade has the pale skin, red eyes, enhanced strength, slow aging, and fangs that are trademarks of vampires, but that's where the similarities end. Vampires in this setting don't need to drink blood to survive (they view it the same way humans view alcohol), they can go out in the sun just fine, their bite isn't infectious (vampires are a species, rather than a condition), and a stake or silver dagger through the heart isn't anymore effective at killing them than it would be to anyone else.
  • Plant Person: Lakshy is an alraune, and likewise is stated to be the halfway point between an animal and a plant. She mostly looks like a normal human, except with leaves sprouting from her shoulders and waist, as well as the ability to photosynthesize, and a weakness to fire.
  • Snake People: Mulette and Charlette have the upper bodies of humans, but long snake tails from the waist down.
  • Sssssnake Talk: Unsurprisingly, this is how the Lamia twins speak. That said, it's a more subdued example, as they typically only use it to punctuate the ends of their sentences.

     Paolo
A young knight from Hannock who joined during the first recruitment drive.
  • Bit Character: Arguably moreso than the many other examples in the series. His entire role in the story is to inform Touya of the savagery of Yulong's army, convincing him to help defend Hannock from the would-be invaders. He has yet to make another appearance since then.

     Spica Frennel
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/spica_5.png
A Dark Elf from a noble family in Xenoahs who joined Brunhild's knight order after Touya cured her of a terrible illness.
  • I Owe You My Life: She swore servitude to Touya after he healed her from Demoderma.
  • Luckily, My Shield Will Protect Me: She, like other members of the Frennel family, utilizes a signature shield-guard technique in combat. They're so dedicated to their art that the God Of Shields has taken a personal interest in the family.
  • My Greatest Failure: She was originally the personal bodyguard to Sakura back when she lived in Xenoahs, until the day Sakura was targeted in an attempted assassination and was presumed dead. Spica, disgraced by her failure, left Xenoahs. After she contracted Demoderma, she sought out a peaceful death in Brunhild, the only other country that was friendly towards Demonkin.
  • My Greatest Second Chance: Needless to say, she's driven to tears when she learns that Sakura survived the attack. After aiding Touya in the capture of the perpetrator, she resumed her duty as Sakura's personal knight.
  • Older Than They Look: As a Dark Elf, Spica is said to be several decades old, despite looking like someone in their early twenties.
  • Our Elves Are Different: Unlike regular elves who are classified as a race of demi humans, Dark Elves are demonkin and biologically are a completely distinct species. While Elves specialize in magic, Dark Elves excel at physical prowess. The visual similarities between the two races are said to be the result of convergent evolution.
  • Shield Bash: Members of the family use special dome-shaped shields with a single sharp protrusion in the center, which are used for bashing attacks. Spica, as a knight of Brunhild, uses a shield made of Phrasium, making bashes hit extra-hard.

     Lanz Tempest
A young man from Lestia who joined Brunhild's knight order during their second recruitment drive.
  • Cannot Spit It Out: He very obviously has feelings for Micah, and it took some urging from Touya for him to finally get serious about it.
  • The Leader: He catches Touya's eye during the survival phase of the second recruitment drive when he admirably leads a group of other participants in slaying a particularly large King Ape.
  • Proud Warrior Race Guy: Somewhat downplayed. Lestians come from a proud, noble knight culture, but they aren't Blood Knights.
  • Suspiciously Similar Substitute: Has similar traits to Lyon Blitz.

     Charon
A young knight from Belfast who joined Brunhild's knight order during their second recruitment drive. His knowledge of plants and herbs earned him a spot in Brunhild's Agriculture Division.
  • Good Fortune from God: As a result of working alongside him for so long, Charon eventually becomes a beneficiary of the God of Agriculture's divinity.
  • Non-Action Guy: He's a member of the knight order, but mainly helps out cultivating Brunhild's farmland. During the second recruitment drive, he managed to survive in the forest for three days by laying low and seeking out forage to eat.

Homura Sarutobi, Shizuku Kirigakure, and Nagi Fūma
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/kunoichi_trio.png
From left to right: Shizuku, Homura, and Nagi
A trio of Kunoichi from Eashen who work under Tsubaki in Brunhild's Intelligence Division.
  • Chromatic Arrangement: Their hair colors are red, blue, and green, respectively.
  • A Day in the Limelight: Homura gets an entire chapter told from her perspective in volume 16 that appears to parody the Shonen genre.
  • Elemental Hair Colors: Red-haired Homura uses fire, blue-haired Shizuku uses water, and green-haired Nagi uses wind.
  • Famous Ancestor: They are the daughters of Sarutobi Sasuke, Saizō Kirigakure, and Fuuma Kotaro respectively. Or rather, they're the daughters of this world's versions of them.
  • Fire, Water, Wind: They're each skilled in elemental ninjutsu, with the specific elements aligning with their names; Homura has Fire, Shizuku has Water, and Nagi has Wind.
  • Ki Manipulation: Homura attempts to use this method to take down a Wyvern on the dungeon islands. Touya forbids her from doing it again until she's trained more.
  • Magical Eye: Homura has the Mystic Eyes of Far Sight, which allows her to see things from a far distance.
  • Master of All: They briefly gain all of Touya's powers during the final battle against the Mutant Phrase through the use of a magic app that had been distributed to everyone's smartphones.
  • Ninja Maid: During Touya's wedding, they were among the members of the knight order tasked with temporarily filling in as extra maids and butlers.
  • Poisoned Weapons: At one point, Homura smeared some on her ninjato as she fought against a Blood Liger.
  • Throw Down the Bomblet: Homura carries around some enchanted grenades. She is quite frugal about them since they're not standard issue for the knight order.

     Ashley, Baris, Dingo, and Lifon
A group of demi-humans and demonkin who joined the knight order during the second recruitment drive. They are a Lioness Beastwoman, Bird Beastman, Wardog, and Arachne respectively.
  • Cat Girl: Ashley is a Lioness Beastwoman, and as such has the ears and tail of one.
  • Fantastic Racism: All four of them were on the receiving end of this during the survival phase, from a group of humans who chased them away from a campfire for "stinking like animals". Satisfyingly, the four of them passed while the racists were disqualified.
  • Our Werewolves Are Different: Dingo is a Wardog, and is stated as resembling one of the setting's werewolves, who are merely a race of anthropomorphic wolves with no supernatural powers. Wardogs however resemble domestic dog breeds rather than wolves.
  • Spider People: Lifon, an Arachne, is noted as having the upper body of a human, but the lower body of a spider.
  • Winged Humanoid: Baris is a Bird Beastman, who are said to look like humans with birdlike wings sprouting from their backs.

Townsfolk

     Micah

Voiced by: Sayuri Hara (Japanese), Caitlin Glass (English), Montserrat Aguilar (Latin American Spanish)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/micah_anime.png
A longtime friend of Touya and his wives, and the manager of the Silver Moon's Brunhild branch.
  • First Friend: Well, second technically. But she was one of the first people Touya befriended after being sent to the new world.
  • Jumped at the Call: When Touya approached her and her father about opening up a Silver Moon branch in Brunhild, she decided to make the move and serve as the innkeeper without even a hint of hesitation.
  • Master of All: She briefly gains all of Touya's powers during the final battle against the Mutant Phrase through the use of a magic app that had been distributed to everyone's smartphones. Although considering her occupation, it's unlikely that she used them.
  • Oblivious to Love: She was completely unaware that Lanz constantly helping her out and giving her flowers was his attempt at trying to woo her. Touya has to tell her to her face that Lanz likes her for the point to finally get across.

     Aer

Voiced by: Mayu Yoshioka (Japanese), Natalie Hoover (English), Valentina Souza (Latin American Spanish)

     Endymion SPOILERS

Voiced by: Yūma Uchida (Japanese), Howard Wang (English), Emmanuel Bernal (Latin American Spanish)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ende_anime.png
A mysterious white-haired boy that Touya repeatedly meets. He's revealed to be traveling across worlds alongside the dormant Sovereign Phrase, Melle. He eventually settled down in Brunhild alongside Melle and the other Phrase refugees.
  • Anti-Hero: When questioned by Touya if he's an ally or enemy of humanity, he claims that he's no ally of the Phrase, but doesn't consider himself to be an ally of humanity either.
  • Babies Ever After: He later ends up having a child with Melle, a daughter named Allistella.
  • Badass Decay: Discussed in-universe by Touya. The first several times he meets with Ende, he's rather aloof and mysterious. Once Melle enters the story as a proper character, he mellows out, loses these qualities and becomes significantly more comedic and outspoken. That said, he's still a badass as far as his fighting prowess is concerned.
  • Bare-Fisted Monk: His preferred fighting style.
  • Brainwashed and Crazy: After losing a fight against some mutated Dominant Constructs, he crash-lands in the Reverse World, where he's taken in by a greedy noble and hypnotized into becoming his servant. It takes Melle using her vines to fiddle with his brain to bring him back to normal.
  • Dimensional Traveler: An ability of his race.
  • Fish out of Temporal Water: He was stuck in the void between worlds for roughly 5000 years. He gets himself into trouble early on by trying to pay for goods with long-outdated Partheno currency, and Touya has to rescue him and teach him how the new world works.
  • Good Fortune from God: As an apprentice of Takeru, the God of Combat, he's a divine beneficiary and receives certain boons, such as increased durability and speed.
  • Master of All: He briefly gains all of Touya's powers during the final battle against the Mutant Phrase through the use of a magic app that had been distributed to everyone's smartphones.
  • Mr. Exposition: Aside from Dr. Babylon, he's the greatest source of exposition in the story.
  • Mysterious Past: For a long time, he was quite cagey about his past. He only opened up to Touya after the Phrase attacks became increasingly more severe.
  • Never Gets Drunk: Members of his race are incapable of it.
  • Inexplicably Speaks Fluent Alien: Seems to understand any spoken language and can be understood by anyone in an unknown method.
  • Unwitting Instigator of Doom: It turns out that he is indirectly responsible for the downfall of the Partheno Civilization, the constant Phrase threats Touya and the other protagonists are forced to deal with, as well the annihilation of countless innocent worlds. While visiting the Phrase world, he fell in love with its Queen. The two decided to leave since it's nearly impossible for Ende's people to settle down in a single world for too long. Unfortunately, despite the Queen abdicating to her younger brother before leaving, some of the Phrase refused to accept it and so chased after them from world to world, destroying those worlds in the process. The only reason the world Touya lives in survived was because of a fluke. A man from a parallel world just so happened to have what was needed to push them back, two Gollems with the ability to alter space and time.
  • Super-Hearing: He's able to hear things like the resonance of the Phrase through the dimensional barrier.

     Melle SPOILERS
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/melle.png
The former Sovereign Phrase that the other Phrase had been seeking for thousands of years. She had been traveling across worlds in a deathlike state in an attempt to evolve so she could be with Ende. She eventually settled down in Brunhild alongside Ende and the other Phrase girls.
  • Babies Ever After: She later ends up having a child with Ende, a daughter named Allistella.
  • Big Eater: Dominant Constructs like her don't have to consume food to survive, but she very quickly takes a liking to it. As a result of her Phrase biology, she can devour plates upon plates of food.
  • Big Good: She is the far more benevolent leader of the Phrase before Yula, one of the Dominant-Class Phrases, actively usurps her position and plans to do the exact opposite. As a result she escapes her home world in the form of a nucleus, who is being actively pursued by her now-rogue subjects passing from one host to the other. She later enters inside the future newborn Yamato Ernes Belfast, before she was later extracted from Touya, initiating her awakening as she reveals her goal to him by stopping Yula and the Wicked God's plans of destroying the merged world.
  • Contrived Coincidence: Her host at the time of her awakening was none other than Yumina's baby brother Yamato. This is Lampshaded by Touya.
  • Foil: To Touya. Both of them are rulers of their own nations and boast impressive powers. However, while Touya intentionally refrains from directly assisting his people too much, Melle is implied to have done so much for her own people that nearly half of them had become dependent on her. They defied her successor, and began to chase her across many worlds to bring her back.
  • Goal-Oriented Evolution: Her method of traveling across worlds changed her body to that of an existence that is no longer purely Phrase. While Dominant Constructs are already humanlike, she resembles a human even more than they do.
  • Green Thumb. Downplayed. She has the ability to form and manipulate crystal vines and roses to ensnare or slice at her foes.
  • Heroic BSoD: She becomes nearly catatonic after Touya informs her of all the innocent worlds her former subjects had destroyed in their effort to bring her back.
  • Human Disguise: To help her blend in, Touya gave her an enchanted necklace that makes her look like a normal human woman.
  • Marry Them All: In a rare female and bisexual example, she ends up marrying Ende, Lycee, and Ney.
  • Master of All: She briefly gains all of Touya's powers during the final battle against the Mutant Phrase through the use of a magic app that had been distributed to everyone's smartphones.
  • Morality Chain: While she is not technically dead her ruling is the reason why the Phrase never incessantly began attacking the multiverse. Yula's usurpation as the leader of the Phrase leads her to be exiled by chasing her in many worlds, causing the Phrase and her former subordinates to be fanatically obsessed with violence and power by wreaking havoc across the multiverse.
  • My Species Doth Protest Too Much: She's appalled by how power-hungry and violence-craved her former subordinates are.
  • Only Mostly Dead: The best way to describe her method of traveling between worlds. In order to obtain abilities similar to Ende's, she reduced herself to a death-like state where only her core remained. In this form, she could slip through the barrier between worlds, and she would hide inside the heart of a host, absorbing a small amount of their life energy until they died. She would repeat this process several times until she gained enough energy to pass through to the next world.
  • Science Wizard: Her knowledge is described to be a combination of science and the arcane. Known feats are discovering how to travel across worlds, curing Ende of amnesia using her vibrating tentacles and giving birth to Allis.
  • Sealed Good in a Can: During her exile, it is revealed that Melle was hidden inside Yamato's body in the form of a nucleus, until she was extracted out from him.
  • She Is the King: She was the former ruler of Phrasia before abdicating to her younger brother.
  • Tranquil Fury: After overhearing Yula plot to return to Phrasia and usurp control from her younger brother, Melle very coldly delivers a "Reason You Suck" Speech and swiftly executes him.

     Lycee SPOILERS
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/lycee.png
A Dominant Phrase Construct who traveled across many worlds alongside Ende for centuries. She's the sister of Ney, and eventually settled in Brunhild with her, as well as Ende and Melle.
  • Big Eater: Dominant Constructs like her don't have to consume food to survive, but she very quickly takes a liking to it. As a result of her Phrase biology, she can devour plates upon plates of food.
  • Emotionless Girl: She's quiet and doesn't express her emotions around anyone but Melle.
  • Human Disguise: To help her blend in, Touya gave her an enchanted necklace that makes her look like a normal human woman.
  • Hunter of His Own Kind: Defied and later Played Straight. She takes no issue with Ende or the world's denizens killing the Phrase since they're the invaders, but she refuses to raise a hand to her own kind. She changes her mind when the remaining Phrase are corrupted by the Wicked God.
  • Master of All: She briefly gains all of Touya's powers during the final battle against the Mutant Phrase through the use of a magic app that had been distributed to everyone's smartphones.
  • Wild Card: At some point before the story began, she was teamed up with Ney and the other rogue Phrase. Then out of nowhere, she decided to ditch them and travel alongside Ende, claiming that she was curious to see where the Sovereign would end up when her journey ended. According to Ney, she was like this back on Phrasia as well. Often making bizarre decisions simply because something interested her. These tendencies start going away once she's reunited with Melle, and stop completely when she decides to marry her.

     Ney SPOILERS
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ney.png
A Dominant Construct who lead a horde of phrase across multiverse in a violent campaign to bring the Sovereign back. After being betrayed by her former comrades, she allied herself with Touya to help protect Melle.
  • Big Eater: Dominant Constructs like her don't have to consume food to survive, but she very quickly takes a liking to it. As a result of her Phrase biology, she can devour plates upon plates of food.
  • Clingy Jealous Girl: Implied to be the biggest source of her hatred for Ende. Even after reuniting with Melle, she still has some lingering resentment towards him, but she acknowledges that he makes Melle happy.
  • Fiery Redhead: She has quite the temper, and her human disguise fittingly has red hair.
  • Human Disguise: To help her blend in, Touya gave her an enchanted necklace that makes her look like a normal human woman.
  • Karma Houdini: Big time. She was one of the leaders of the Phrase faction that chased the Sovereign across worlds, and delighted in exterminating all life within them in her pursuit. Despite this, Touya's perfectly fine with letting her off with no consequences, and even let her settle down in his own castle town.
  • Master of All: She briefly gains all of Touya's powers during the final battle against the Mutant Phrase through the use of a magic app that had been distributed to everyone's smartphones.
  • Stalker with a Crush: It turns out that the entire reason she chased after Melle was because she had feelings for the former Sovereign. Touya and Ende even compare her behavior to that of a stalker who won't take no for an answer.

     Guildmaster Relisha
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/relisha.PNG
The elven Guildmaster of Brunhild's branch of the Adventurer's Guild. She's also the niece of the Queen of Elfrau.
  • Action Girl: Although she currently has an administrative role in the Guild, she's still a former adventurer.
  • Calling Out for Not Calling: When she heard about a large army of dragons headed for Brunhild, she frantically ran to the castle to tell Touya, only to find that nobody was there. Unbeknownst to her, Touya already knew about the invasion and had taken the knights out of town to fight the incoming horde. She was briefly upset that Touya had forgotten to tell her about this.
  • Guile Hero: She's easily able to read Touya as a person to make a mutually beneficial deal with Brunhild regarding the dungeon islands.
  • Long-Lived: Naturally, as an elf, she ages at a much slower rate than humans.
  • Secret-Keeper: Aside from Touya's fiances, she was the first person he told about the looming threat of the Phrase. She worked with Touya to keep tabs on their appearances and to avoid instigating panic.
  • Sufficiently Advanced Bamboo Technology: Like all Guildmasters, she wields an enchanted stone tablet that lets her communicate with whoever has the matching tablet.
  • Tea Is Classy: Has a wide selection in her office. She also represents the Adventurer's guild in the World alliance.

     Fiana Forneus
Sakura's mother, and the current head teacher at Brunhild's school.
  • Crazy Cat Lady: Downplayed. She's fond of Mr. Mittens and allows his subordinate stray cats to hang out on school grounds, but she's still a well-adjusted woman and the head teacher.
  • Master of All: She briefly gains all of Touya's powers during the final battle against the Mutant Phrase through the use of a magic app that had been distributed to everyone's smartphones. Although it's doubtful she made use of it, considering her occupation.
  • The Mistress: Former lover of the Overlord of Xenoahs.
  • Mystical White Hair: Has white hair despite her relatively young age, and fittingly hails from the magic-oriented Kingdom of Felsen.
  • Tranquil Fury: She's an absolute master at invoking this to stop children from misbehaving. She's not above using it on her former lover, either.

     The Cat Sith Squad
A group of summoned beasts known as Cat Siths. They work as protectors of Brunhild and command the stray cats in the castle town to help root out crime.

In General

  • Expy: They're expies of both Puss in Boots and The Three Musketeers.
  • Master of All: They briefly gain all of Touya's powers during the final battle against the Mutant Phrase through the use of a magic app that had been distributed to everyone's smartphones.

D’artagnan aka: Mr. Mittens

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/mr_mittens.png
A Cat Sith that was summoned by Sakura to guard her mother Fiana.
  • Dogged Nice Guy: Downplayed. He's extremely courteous and chivalrous towards women, but often won't give men the time of day. When Sakura asked Touya for an idea of what to name the cat knight, he initially objected to being named by a man. That is, until Touya brought out Kohaku and convinced him otherwise.
  • Hurricane of Puns: Cat puns, to be precise. Much to Touya's chagrin, this is Mr. Mitten's default way of speaking.
  • The Minion Master: He commands the castle town's cat population, and often enlists their help in both tracking down and taking down criminals.

Athos

An American Shorthair Cat Sith summoned by Touya to aid Mr. Mittens at the latter's request.
  • The Ace: Like his musketeer counterpart, he's always alert and keeping an eye out for trouble. Something Touya admires.

Porthos

A Persian Cat Sith summoned by Touya to aid Mr. Mittens at the latter's request.
  • The Big Guy: Much like his musketeer counterpart. Not only the largest of the four cats, but also the one with the biggest appetite.

Aramis

A Siamese Cat Sith summoned by Touya to aid Mr. Mittens at the latter's request.
  • The Casanova: Like his musketeer counterpart. One of the first things he does after being summoned is flirt with a female cat.

     Luna Trieste

Luna Trieste

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/luna_trieste.png
The psychotic master of the Purple Crown, known throughout the Western Continent as the "Frenzied Mistress".
  • The Assimilator: In an unintended consequence of her accelerated regeneration, she managed to absorb the core of a Mutant Phrase and utilize its powers.
  • Combat Sadomasochist: She gets sexual pleasure from both sustaining and inflicting injuries in battle. It's unknown if this is a byproduct of Viola sapping away at her sanity.
  • Corrupted Character Copy: Luna Trieste is the polar opposite Expy of Colette Ewein from the author's original work Chrono Crown. Both are young adult women who own a Purple Crown Gollem with their Crown powers driving insane. But unlike Colette who is a Nice Girl and a complete ditz who is a friendly face, Luna is a Combat Sadomasochist, friendless psychopath who derives pleasure from being hurt (because of her Gollem's ability) and is often treated with unfriendly caution by others.
  • Death Seeker: It's implied that she seeks out danger because she wants to die and thus free herself from Viola's curse.
  • Healing Factor: Courtesy of Viola's Crown ability. Unfortunately, every time she uses it, she becomes even more psychotic.
  • Heel–Face Turn: By casting a curse on her, Touya nullifies her ability to derive pleasure from pain, and removes Viola's Crown abilities so that Luna won't lose anymore of her sanity. She decides to stay in Brunhild and eventually becomes a teacher at the local school.
  • Parasol of Pain: She wields one as her main weapon.
  • Power at a Price: Like all Crown masters. Viola's Crown ability gives Luna complete invulnerability to any damage she sustains, but at the cost of her sanity.
  • Purple Is Powerful: Much like her gollem, her wardrobe consists primarily of purple, and through Viola's regenerative abilities, she is nigh-unbeatable in a fight.
  • Restraining Bolt: Through the Guilty Curse that Touya uses on her, Luna is not allowed to kill absolutely anyone indiscriminately, except in self-defence. And also, the curse serves as another restraining bolt to her: she instead gains pleasure from gratitude rather than pain.
  • Unishment: Touya curses her so that she no longer derives sexual pleasure (her main motivation) from pain, but rather from others' feelings of gratitude towards her. She orgasms the first time she puts this to practice (by helping schoolchildren plant a garden). Touya lampshades that this doesn't seem at all like a punishment, but he's content to leave it at that.
  • Villainous Rescue: She rescues Albus, Anubis and Bastet when they're being overwhelmed by mutant Phrase, becoming a key part of the puretree's defense after Bastet convinces her she might be able to meet Touya that way.

    Fanatic Viola

Fanatic Viola

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/fanatic_viola.png

The Purple Crown, one of the many Crown Gollems created by Chrom Ranchesse. Her Crown Ability grants her master invulnerability to any attack at the cost of their sanity.

  • Heel–Face Turn: After Touya uses his Cracking spell to nullify her Crown ability, she along with her master lose their psychotic streak.
  • Poisonous Person: She has the ability to release a noxious gas that can quickly kill any who are unlucky enough to breathe it in.
  • Power at a Price: Like all Crown Gollems. Viola's Crown ability gives her master complete invulnerability to any damage they sustain, but at the cost of their sanity.
  • Purple Is Powerful: She's the Purple Crown, and is notoriously difficult to destroy due to her regenerative ability.
  • Sinister Scythe: Her primary weapon.
  • Suspiciously Similar Substitute: She bears similarities to Hayate, Colette Ewein's Gollem, in the author's previous work Chrono Crown. Both are Purple Crown Gollems who are lightly dressed and have a primary Crown Gollem ability that heals their masters from injuries and even gaining invulnerability status, at the cost of sanity. And they are also equipped with a bladed weapon.
  • The Speechless: Unlike the other Crowns, she only communicates through beeping noises. It's unknown if she lacks the ability to talk, or if she simply chooses not to.

     Nia Belmott

Nia Belmott

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/nia_belmott.png

The leader of the phantom thieving group known as the Red Cats and the current contractor of the Red Crown.

  • Animal Mecha: Her personal Frame Gear, the Tiger Rouge Overgear, resembles a giant, red tiger.
  • Blood Magic: She can draw out Rouge's true power by spilling her own blood. She has to be careful, for if she spills more than a third of her blood in a single battle, she will die.
  • Butt-Monkey: Despite being the leader of the group, she often finds herself being bullied by Est, her second in command, for her poor behavior.
  • Canon Character All Along: Nia's appearance in In Another World is not her first appearance when she encounters Touya. She is already an established character that has existed in Chrono Crown before the Canon Welding.
  • Elemental Hair Colors: She has red hair and an affinity for Fire magic. Also counts for Elemental Eye Colors because of her red eyes.
  • Elemental Personalities: She appropriately has a high affinity for fire magic to match her hotheadedness.
  • Fiery Redhead: She's a Hot-Blooded redhead.
  • Girlish Pigtails: She's a young girl with her hair tied up into twintails.
  • Hot-Blooded: She's very excitable and always ready for a fight.
  • The Leader: Nia is the current leader of the Red Cats, taking over the position after the death of her father.
  • Master of All: She briefly gains all of Touya's powers during the final battle against the Mutant Phrase through the use of a magic app that had been distributed to everyone's smartphones.
  • Opportunistic Bastard: She agreed to have the Red Cats help guard the Puretree from the Mutant Phrase, just as long as Touya was willing to compensate them for their effort.
  • Phantom Thief: The Red Cats are an entire group of these. They steal from corrupt nobles and give the spoils to the poor.
  • Playing with Fire: After Touya tests her aptitude, it's discovered that she has an affinity for Fire magic.
  • Power at a Price: The aforementioned Blood Magic. Nia could die if she utilizes Rouge's powers too much.
  • Red Is Heroic: Zigzagged. She primarily wears red, is master of the Red Crown, and leads the Red Cats, but the Red Cats aren't exactly heroic, as they're still thieves at the end of the day.
  • Womanchild: Despite being Touya's age and the leader of an entire organization, she's hilariously immature.

    Blood Rouge

Blood Rouge

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/bloodrouge.png

The Red Crown, one of the many Crown Gollems created by Chrom Ranchesse. His Crown Ability manifests as a direct increase to his own fighting ability, but at the cost of his master's blood.

  • Ancestral Weapon: His previous master was Nia's father.
  • Blood Magic: His crown ability increases his strength proportionally to how much of their own blood his master spills.
  • Canon Character All Along: He is already an established character that existed in Chrono Crown, despite him and the backstory of Crown Gollems being canon-welded and incorporated into the much bigger premise of In Another World.
  • Elemental Punch: When his crown ability is activated he can use powerful flaming punch.
  • Power at a Price: Like all Crown Gollems. If the contractor is reckless, they may spill too much blood and kill themselves. This is how Nia's father, Rouge's former master, died.

     Est Flotier

Est Flotier

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/est.png
The second in command of the Red Cats.
  • Canon Character All Along: Along with the rest of Red Cats, Est's appearance in In Another World is not her first appearance when she encounters Touya. She is already an established character that has existed in Chrono Crown before the Canon Welding.
  • Master of All: She briefly gains all of Touya's powers during the final battle against the Mutant Phrase through the use of a magic app that had been distributed to everyone's smartphones.
  • Number Two: She's this to Nia, although Nia's behavior often makes it hard to tell which of them is supposed to be in charge.
  • The Stoic: She's cool, collected, and often has to berate Nia for not acting like a proper leader.
  • Sword and Gun: Shown in her illustration.

    Akagane

Akagane

Est's Gollem who often guards the entrance to their hideout.

     Euni and Euri
Two high-ranking members of the Red Cats.
  • Canon Character All Along: Their appearance in In Another World is not their first appearance when they encounter Touya. Both of them are already established characters that have existed in Chrono Crown before the Canon Welding.
  • Master of All: They briefly gain all of Touya's powers during the final battle against the Mutant Phrase through the use of a magic app that had been distributed to everyone's smartphones.
  • Those Two Guys: They are rarely seen apart.

     Norn Patolakshe

Norn Patolakshe

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/norn_patolakshe.png

The current master of the Black Crown, and Elluka's younger sister.

    Chronos Noir

Chronos Noir

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/chronosnoir.png

The Black Crown, one of the many Crown Gollems created by Chrom Ranchesse. His Crown Ability allows him to pull in items from alternate timelines at the cost of his master's physical age.

  • Been There, Shaped History: He, along with Chrom and the White Crown, were accidentally sent to Touya's new world roughly 5000 years ago, and the two Crowns are primarily responsible for repelling the massive Phrase invasion that wiped out the Partheno Civilization. About 4000 years later, they were both contracted to the then-King of Belfast, and helped defend against the smaller Phrase invasion that caused Belfast's capital to relocate.
  • Dark Is Not Evil: He's the Black Crown, but he's contracted to Norn, who is very much non-villainous.
  • Death by De-aging: His master must be careful, as using his power too much can result in this.
  • Hammerspace: Elluka upgraded him with various weapons that he can summon out of thin air.
  • Nighttime Transformation: He's only able to use his crown ability at night.
  • Power at a Price: His ability to summon things from alternate timelines causes his master's physical age to regress each time it's used.
  • What If?: The best way to describe how his crown ability works. He's able to look into alternate timelines, and temporarily summon items, physical properties, and even alternate versions of himself from them. For example, he can summon a weapon an alternate version of his master may be wielding, or give his enemy's weapon the decreased durability that an alternate version of the weapon may have.

    Elfrau

Elfrau

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/elfrau.png
Norn's personal maid who's secretly a Gollem.
  • Canon Character All Along: Elfrau is revealed to be yet another canon character that existed in Chrono Crown, where her backstory of being contracted to Norn as personal maid was explored into the story. It was later integrated into In Another World's story.
  • Losing Your Head: As a Gollem, she's able to separate her head from her body with ease.
  • Meido: She serves Norn as a maid.
  • Ninja Maid: Like pretty much every maid in this series, she's more than capable of holding her own in a fight. Justified, however, considering she's a Gollem.
  • One-Steve Limit: Averted, albeit a strange example. She shares her name with the snow-covered kingdom to the north of Regulus in Touya's world. He's all too eager to lampshade this fact.
  • Robot Girl: She's a humanoid Gollem, but it's impossible tell at a glance.
