     Main Characters

Lelouch vi Britannia/Lamperouge

The exiled imperial Eleventh Prince of Britannia, seventeenth in line of the succession, of the royal vi Britannia house, in hiding at Ashford Academy in Area 11 with his sister. He was found by Lloyd and asked to work for him in ASEEC.

However, after getting caught up in a terrorist act, he gained the Geass of Absolute Command. From there, he finally got the chance to destroy Britannia. Yet events prevented and forced him new perspective and room to grow. Restored to his rank, he started to make do.

Succeeded Calares as the Viceroy of Area 11.

  • Ace Custom: For now, he makes do with a Sutherland Lance with Factsphere, Blaze Luminous. and sniper - in this case, a prototype of Shinkirou. Lloyd points out he’s better off with something made for him.
  • All-Loving Hero: Subverted. He cares for the people and gives him a week to interact personally and he will go out of his way to protect them. However, when Mao gave him the sadistic choice between Suzaku and a little girl’s legs, he would choose his loved ones. Yet he still cares for the world and wants world peace.
  • Berserk Button: Hurt any of his loved ones and he wouldn't spare an inch. Then there is he won't take any injustice from anybody on innocents.
  • Big Brother Instinct: Witnessing Euphie nearly killing herself in front of him sent into overdrive as well as having near paranoid security protocols for Nunnally after Mao incident. He’s still far reasonable about letting them spread their wings. What he wants is paranoid security on them.
  • Character Development: With a support system, he made choices that were mentally healthier such as sparing Clovis as he realized that Clovis and Cornelia still loves and misses the vi Britannias and letting Nunnally know important matters as keeping it from her would do more harm than good. His trust issues were tackled as people he cared about to say they were here for him.
  • Color Motif: Violet/black
  • Control Freak: He pulled a contract with Lloyd to get some degree of control.
  • Dark Is Not Evil: Likes to dress in dark colors, preferably a variation of black and violet, but is one of the good guys.
  • Distressed Dude: For almost all the major events in R1, he's been held captive or in major danger.
  • Foil: To Rai/Prometheus who was written to be an Evil Counterpart. As would-have-been-Zero, they would be intelligent rebel leaders fighting a tyrannical nation but Lelouch wants a better world even if it means spilling blood while Rai just wants the world to burn. Rai was willing to sacrifice whoever while Lelouch canonically wanted to make up for his mistakes including the aforementioned bloodshed.
    • They are emotional passionate paranoid people who respond to dangerous situations and injustice without considering their luck. However, Lelouch has been introspective due to Character Development.
    • He earned his reputation honestly while Prometheus through lies yet proved themselves skillful. He's a Reasonable Authority Figure and The Wise Prince / The Good King while Rai's the Mean Boss, only acting as the Reasonable Authority Figure to get his way. The paths both the vi Britannias and the terrorists are going are bloody but the vi Britannias hope to save as many lives as they can in the inevitable bloodshed.
  • Good Is Not Soft: While he is trying to find the right path toward a better future, his strategies can get dark and ruthless.
  • Guile Hero: He likes to blindside his enemies with risky moves. He was the one who proposed the SAZ plan to bring peace and set up an army there but also knew SAZ wasn’t what Prometheus wanted.
  • Guilt Complex: As pointed out by Lloyd and Cecile, he has a habit of shouldering things done beyond his control or mistakes not his own.
  • Heroic BSoD: When Cornelia called to make the Saitama massacre to draw out the one who defeated her brother; after the Mao incident; when he realized he can't protect Suzaku as Lamperouge
  • Hot-Blooded: Despite his apathetic and placid mask, he’s emotional and passionate. He's the Red Oni to Schneizel's Blue Oni but he's the Blue Oni to Rai's and Suzaku's Red Oni.
  • Large Ham: If he gets the chance to be dramatic, he will take it. See his reintroduction as Prince, making Suzaku his knight, his Love Confession to Suzaku.
  • Liberty Over Prosperity: He wants happiness and peace as much as his younger sisters, but he knows freedom is what the people need.
  • Loss of Identity: He has a crisis with his royal blood as he doesn't consider himself royalty no matter what. Events forced him to confront this as he has more room to grow. Later, he acknowledges he's both Lamperouge and vi Britannia, knowing the latter has the power to protect his loved ones and his goals.
  • Magnetic Hero: His charisma is off the charts as, despite his social awkwardness, he attracts people like a beacon just by being himself.
  • Manipulative Bastard
  • Nice Guy: Hidden behind the mask but his close friends know he’s this. He does the right thing for the sake of doing the right thing, damned the consequences. He treats C.C. well and doesn’t pry on her secrets, letting her tell him at her own accord. He put others before him when that wasn't what they wanted.
  • Not So Above It All: Aside from his Large Ham tendencies, despite his grumbling when Milly put the spotlight on him, he partake in the school festivities and Milly’s schemes with gusto.
  • Oblivious to Love: Failed to pick up on Shirley, Suzaku, Kallen, Milly, and Rai's affections. Everyone knows this to the point even asking him out on a date flies over his head and all he got out of it she just has an extra ticket. He didn't even understand Prometheus was flirting with him when showing his inner circle the recorded audio from his phone, something Cecile, Jeremiah, and Suzaku expressed concern for his innocence and density.
  • The Paragon: Outwardly looks like a Knight in Sour Armor but his Chronic Hero Syndrome and Screw the Rules, I'm Doing What's Right! are his great qualities. He was able to convince people like Lloyd, Cecile, Euphie, and Jeremiah to Screw the Rules, I'm Doing What's Right!, damned the consequences. He doesn't like Holding Out for a Hero that Prometheus espoused but rather We Help the Helpless as in helping and protecting each other.
  • Precision F-Strike: When he curses. Cornelia didn’t like it.
  • Princely Young Man: Earned the school nickname Prince of Ashford, he’s the Gentleman type.
  • Real Men Wear Pink: He cooks, bakes, cleans, sew, design clothes, likes fashion, and likes wearing frilly clothes. It’s also implied he has makeup in his collection too.
  • Reasonable Authority Figure: Willing to listen to others' opinions and thoughts and always make sure people are safe ie his evacuation of civilians in the Tokyo Settlement.
  • Red Baron: The Black Prince for his strategic prowess.
  • Revenge: He sees Prometheus’ vengeance as petty and knew that it would justify everything including bloodshed with just a little nudging. He has yet to refocus on his own revenge for his mom.
  • Royals Who Actually Do Something: Once he got back as a prince, he destroyed the remaining corruption and helped the Japanese via sending supplies and opening jobs for them. He preferred to go out on the battlefield himself and his mantra is well known - if a king does not lead, then subordinates will not follow. He made it clear he wanted to do something else he felt like dying over and over again. Lloyd wanted to create his own Knightmare. He was the mastermind behind SAZ. The only reason he was only aiding Cornelia in the Rising Sun Rebellion is that in the end it’s her forces and she has her own plans; all he can do is stall with what he can order and evacuate the civilians from harm’s way.
  • Spared by the Adaptation: When Euphemia lives, he and Shirley lives.
  • Squishy Wizard: He’s physically weak and will lose in hand in hand combat - though he has Sayoko’s lessons that only help a tad - but his intelligence, Geass, and marksmanship make up for it. In terms of Knightmares, he’s best as a sniper.
  • Unequal Pairing: Averted with his relationship with Suzaku. They always see each other as equals, as complements, even as prince and knight.
  • Violently Protective Girlfriend: Gender-inverted. Before and after they got together, Lelouch has no chill about protecting Suzaku.
  • Warrior Prince: Preferred to go out on the battlefield himself and participate. He doesn’t have his own personal Knightmare yet but he can make do with ASEEC’s other Knightmares.
  • The Wise Prince: If his speech at Ashford summer fest is anything to go by.
  • Workaholic: As ASEEC head programmer, he takes his job seriously. When he returned as a prince, he worked mightily hard that his loved ones have to tell or pull him to take care of himself.
  • Worth Living For: C.C. notes that nowadays she can actually picture him happy.
  • You Are Not Alone: Lelouch has a tendency to forget his loved ones’ fears if he ever was in danger as he has no problem throwing himself into danger. Often he’s forgetting he is loved so it hurts his loved ones when his tunnel vision took over; note when a loved one is in danger or worse, he loses all reasoning and reacts poorly. His loved ones and supporters said they are here to help him and let them help because he isn’t alone.

Suzaku Kururugi

Ace Pilot of the Lancelot and childhood friend of the vi Britannias. The son of the Last Prime Minister of Japan, Kururugi Genbu. Officially Knight of Honor to Prince Lelouch.
  • The Ace: Almost anything sporty he can master and put pros to shame. Because of this, the Ashford sports clubs admired him and would support and defend him like when he was revealed to be Lancelot's pilot.
  • Always Save the Girl: More often than not, he saves Lelouch from his many dangers.
  • Animals Hate Him: Loves cats but cats hate him. At least he knows Arthur doesn’t hate him.
  • Berserk Button: Doing any harm on Lelouch is one way to get him angry.
  • Character Development: Due to actually talking with Lelouch, he can see his side without dismissing it. With a support system, he was able to talk about his issues more openly albeit slowly. The denial that everything is complicated that one person can’t solve everything gets kicked out of him much earlier due to actually talking with people especially the vi Britannias and having a support system. Though he hasn’t let go of his suicidal tendencies as he still blames himself. He’s been introspective as he does admit his own selfishness, personal loyalty to the people he loves, and Death Seeker tendencies.
  • Charles Atlas Superpower: So much Britannia as a whole question what even is he. The first glimpse for Schneizel, Cornelia, and her forces was witnessing him rip a plate off a Knightmare to protect Lelouch.
  • Death Seeker: Wanted to die in a Heroic Sacrifice because he blamed himself for not thinking of Japan when he killed his dad and that the war after Japan's surrender may be worse than the month-long invasion. Everyone including Kirihara and Tohdoh pointed out that, aside from the political implications if the news gets out, he saved Japan and more than just the vi Britannias.
  • Did Not Think This Through: He doesn’t have the best plans as evident with his Social Climber route which Lelouch, Lloyd, and Cecile pointed out that in the end he won’t have any power. Suzaku admitted he isn’t good at planning and thinking things through enough.
  • Every Japanese Sword is a Katana: Katanas became his favored weapon after Lelouch insists he’s better with a sword he’s used to and was knighted with one.
  • Hair-Trigger Temper: Has a short temper, leading him to think bad thoughts quickly and want punishment like turning in Kallen despite Lelouch’s wishes but he remembered how Kallen helped him; quick to yell at Rai about SAZ but still in shock about him being Prometheus.
  • Heroic BSoD: When he remembered he killed his dad and Mind Rape by Mao about it.
  • Heroic Self-Deprecation: Crippling self-esteem issues not helped with childhood trauma and military bullying. It took a while for him to accept he can be a knight for Lelouch.
  • Honor Before Reason: His Character Development makes peace with this as he’s more realistic about it now.
  • Hot-Blooded: Raise to his emotions if presses. His Japanese Politeness apparently came about from years of childhood trauma and military bullying since he self admitted - and Lelouch pointed out - he was a brat.
  • Insecure Love Interest: His low self-esteem is practically the only reason he never seem to try confessing to Lelouch. Unlike Shirley who Cannot Spit It Out, he doesn’t think he’s worthy more than just a friend.
  • Oblivious to Love: Zigzagged. At first, he seemed clueless or in denial of his feelings but a Green-Eyed Epiphany of sorts towards Shirley and Prometheus made him aware on some level. It took Mao to get him to realize the extent of it. The reason he acts Selective Obliviousness was because of his low self-esteem.
  • Protectorate: He loves his friends and swears loyalty to them. He made it clear multiple times he’s not loyal to Britannia.
  • The Unapologetic: For the smaller things. He’s shameless, casually flipping Lelouch’s skirt to see his underwear and doesn’t mind cross-dressing in the slightest.
  • Undying Loyalty: To Lelouch, Nunnally, and his friends. He has to make it clear that he's not loyal to Britannia but to his loved ones.
  • Unequal Pairing: Averted with his relationship with Lelouch. They always see each other as equals, even when they declare as prince and knight.
  • Violently Protective Girlfriend: Gender-inverted. Before and after they got together, he is extremely protective of Lelouch.
  • Worth Living For: He still has Death Seeker tendencies but Lelouch begged him if he didn’t want to live, live for his loved ones.

C.C.

The Code Bearer that gave Geass. A mysterious woman with immortality who knows more than she let on.
  • Ace Custom: Lancelot Club.
  • Always Save the Girl: If Suzaku is unavailable she’s there to save Lelouch or at least help Suzaku if he’s available.
  • The Confidant: Still fulfilled this role for Lelouch in spite of his expanded inner circle. She is also this for Nunnally to some extent because Nunnally didn’t want to bring trouble onto Sayoko.
  • Death Seeker
  • Defrosting Ice Queen: Much earlier than in canon.
  • Didn't See That Coming: Since meeting Lelouch, she didn’t expect things like he didn’t kill Clovis and Jeremiah being alive
  • Hyper-Awareness: Observant to everyone and everything around her.
  • The Gadfly: Loves to tease Lelouch about his density towards romance and adored the cross-dressing festival.
  • Mind Rape: Did this to Prometheus in Narita
  • Sue Donym: She was given the alias Cassandra Caldwell to blend in more, still keeping her initials.
  • Worth Living For: Not reached the point yet but she’s defrosting and bonding.

Nunnally vi Britannia/Lamperouge

The exiled imperial Seventeenth Princess of Britannia, eighty-seventh in line of succession, of the royal vi Britannia house, in hiding at Ashford Academy with her brother. She was restored to her rank following the Kyushu crisis.

Succeeded Euphemia as Sub-Viceroy of Area 11

  • Can't Stay Normal: Loves her life as Lamperouge but knew that if she returned as a princess, she can't ever go back to the commoner life where she and Lelouch lived happily.
  • Foil: to Alice.
  • For Happiness: She also wanted a gentler world but she wanted in to help make it. All she wants is to make people happy.
  • The Gadfly: adores teasing her brother
  • Heroic Self-Deprecation: Hates her disabilities and don't want to be burdensome on her loved ones.
  • Humble Goal: While she does want world peace, she doesn’t care what world as long as she spends it with her brother and loved ones.
  • Voice Changeling: Her imitation of Arthur is accurate scarily.
  • "Well Done, Son" Guy: Wants Lelouch to be proud of her and express a So Proud of You to her.
  • We Used to Be Friends: During the Rising Sun Rebellion, she learns where Alice's allegiance lies and was so angry she denounced Alice as her friend. Still, hinted by the crying, it's not as fractured as the canonical Suzaku and Lelouch's and since Nunnally is returning as the Sub-Viceroy of Area 11....

     Britannians

ASEEC

  • Family of Choice: The technicians, no matter how much Lloyd exasperated them, are loyal. They are loyal to Lelouch and Suzaku, worrying for them after the Mao incident and after Lelouch returned to royalty.
  • Undying Loyalty: To Lloyd, Cecile, Lelouch, and Suzaku. It's implied they would have abandon working with Britannia if Lelouch chose to become a rebel leader. In the same manner, Lloyd and Cecile would follow Lelouch in whatever path he chooses.

Lloyd Asplund

Head Scientist of the ASEEC. He found Lelouch by chance and asked Lelouch to work for him.
  • Brutal Honesty: Unabashed about his true feelings, he made clear what thinks such as laughing when Lelouch planned to use Prometheus’ affections for him to agree to SAZ.
  • Cloud Cuckoolander: Eccentric and Lelouch point out that the only thing that could possibly interest him is a mecha.
  • The Cracker: Has a hacking program which in his words to look at what the government is doing. He lends it to Lelouch.
  • For Science!: While he's not interested in the war, he certainly wants to revolutionize Knightmares.
  • Gadgeteer Genius: One of the few revolutionizing Knightmares.
  • Hidden Heart of Gold: He felt guilty upon realizing who actually gave the missile order.
  • Hyper-Awareness: Observant but great at keeping secrets.
  • Mad Scientist: All he wants to make progress with Knightmares with Lancelot as his baby.
  • Non-Action Guy: As much as he loves Knightmares, he isn’t one to pilot.
  • Only Sane Man: He’s eccentric but mentally stable compared to the two boys he adopted.
  • Papa Bear: Does not like Schneizel for nearly killing Lelouch and Suzaku.
  • Parental Substitute: Is this for Lelouch and Suzaku.
  • Reasonable Authority Figure: He is open-minded to the idea of Geass and Code and gave the support Lelouch and Suzaku needs in their pursuits.
  • Secret Secret-Keeper: He not only discovers secrets but also keep them, only telling those he trust should know the info he learned.
  • Team Dad: Looks after Lelouch and Suzaku with fatherly care. In the months he spent with them, he managed to get their true personalities and did what he can to help them.
  • Wisdom from the Gutter: He’s a well known eccentric who doesn’t care what others think. Which is why it surprised many to see him say wise things now and then.

Cecile Croomy

Head engineer of the ASEEC and Lloyd's assistant.
  • Action Girl: She's a soldier after all that Lloyd notes.
  • Cordon Bleugh Chef: She has weird tastes. When Lelouch taught her to cook properly, she began to use her weird tastes to be petty and spiteful towards anyone who angered her.
  • Exact Eavesdropping: She went to tell Lelouch about the Sutherland just as she overheard C.C. and Lelouch’s conversation.
  • For Science!: She isn’t loyal to Britannia, only for Lelouch and pursuit of science.
  • Mama Bear: Does not want to be in the same space as Schneizel for his part in nearly killing Lelouch and Suzaku.
  • Only Sane Man: She and Lloyd were the ones who limited what Lelouch can do with his Geass.
  • Parental Substitute: Is this for Lelouch and Suzaku. She was absolutely horrified to learn Lelouch is half-suicidal and Suzaku killed his dad. All she wants is to help them.
  • Reasonable Authority Figure: She's open-minded to what Lelouch and Suzaku suggest and helped them when she could.
  • Team Mom: Looks after Lloyd, Lelouch, and Suzaku with motherly care. Initially, she insists she’s more like a Cool Big Sis but everyone knows she’s this.

Ashford Academy

  • Academy of Adventure: Downplayed. It's the place where the vi Britannias were then hidden and later revealed to the world after the Kyushu situation and Ashford summer fest; because the vi Britannias love Ashford so much, they made sure protective measures are there. Festivals and events are frequent. It was also Ground Zero at the Rising Sun Rebellion.
  • Elaborate University High: A middle and high school division with an elementary school sub-division little away from.
  • Noodle Incident: Many. Apparently beach trips are forbidden after one awful trip.
  • Plucky Comic Relief: A primary source of comedy.
  • Reasonable Authority Figure: Reuben Ashford. Aside from his love for partying and forcing others to do the work for him, he would help the vi Britannias and said that they are here to support them.
  • Stranger in a Strange School: Tormenting of Lelouch is common by the student council as Kallen found it normal. Festivals, events, and all the Noodle Incident galore are frequent for Nunnally's meowing to start the festival and students cheering in response is enough for Darlton to question what kind of school Ashford is.
  • True Companions: The student council has been put a lot of focus in the fics, especially with Lelouch bonding with them more. Which is why it pained the student council when Kallen and Alice were revealed to be Taiyo no Heishi and just a year later the vi Britannias will make their return as the new rulers of Area 11, add them up and they are watching their friends on the frontlines of war, playing crucial roles in history in the making.
  • Undying Loyalty: The Ashfords to the vi Britannia line, protecting the hidden children so well the world thought them dead. Lelouch recalled only this family is loyal to his house after Marianne’s death. Even when the vi Britannias were restored to their ranks, they remain steadfast to the siblings while the siblings loved their happy free commoner life the Ashfords gave them and did everything in their power to keep them and the school safe.
  • We Used to Be Friends: The student council learned Alice and Kallen are part of Taiyo no Heishi. Since they know this, in all likelihood, they will confront them if they could the following year when Lelouch and Nunnally will make their grand return as Viceroy and Sub-Viceroy of Area 11...

Milly Ashford

The Student Council President of Ashford Academy and heiress of the ex-noble Ashford family.
  • Cool Big Sis
  • For Happiness: The reason why she has so many parties and events was to make people smile.
  • Hyper-Awareness: She noticed things such as Rai's increasingly bad behavior towards Lelouch and set to make sure he's not alone with him and made sure how the vi Britannias grew up differently to Cornelia.
  • The Leader: During the Rising Sun Rebellion, she has a brave face and focused on her schoolmates’ safety she refused to get on the Avalon until every student is evacuated.
  • Nice Girl: Compassionate about her friends and moral knowing why Lelouch hates Britannia. She knows how to keep secrets for her friends.
  • Oblivious to Love: Ironically despite noticing friends pining after Lelouch, she never saw Rivalz’s crush on her.
  • Plucky Girl: During the Rising Sun Rebellion, she’s barely holding in her anger but kept a brave face when Taiyo no Heishi made Ashford their base.
  • Secret-Keeper: She knew the vi Britannias' true identities and Kallen's Japanese-Britannian bloodline.
  • Shipping Torpedo: She does not encourage Rai’s affection for Lelouch, making sure he isn’t alone with him for too long and does not like his behavior in the cross-dressing fest. What she can hope for is to have Rai confess and get turned down by Lelouch. Even Shirley found Rai’s behavior scary.

Shirley Fenette

A member of the student council and after Lelouch leaving Ashford permanently as a prince, she succeeded him as Vice-President.

Rivalz Cardemonde

A member of the student council and succeeded Milly as Student Council President.
  • Action Survivor: He's just a normal kid but he is willing to do what it takes to survive in the war in which his dear friends are part of as frontliners.
  • Ascended Extra: In canon, he doesn’t have any role. However, since in the fic, his bond with Lelouch is given more depth and room to show and grow. As a result, he have a slight bit more of a role. See his reactions to certain revelations at the rebellion.
  • The Everyman: Although he has family troubles, he is ordinary.
  • The Generic Guy: So very much. However, his friendship with two Britannian royals stick him out.
  • Heterosexual Life-Partners: Called himself Lelouch's best friend. He doesn't seem to mind Suzaku is Lelouch's best friend as Lelouch made clear he won't like what Rivalz would have Suzaku did to actually achieve that level. He and Nina are the only ones not in the love with Lelouch and he would like to be elsewhere when he's hanging around the object of his friends' lust, Face Palm when he saw Suzaku's blush as Lelouch undressed and witness Rai's jealousy.
  • Inter Class Friendship: Technically, Milly is an ex-noble but still has a lot of money in comparison to him and he's friends with the vi Britannias who since restored to their ranks as imperial royals.
  • Nice Guy

Nina Einstein

A member of the student council.
  • Character Development: She's working on her xenophobia and a little on her self-esteem as Lloyd and Euphie encouraged her best qualities. Her self-esteem issues are unfortunately crippling enough when Euphie supposedly died by Prometheus' hands she had a vengeful Freak Out.
  • Insecure Love Interest: So very much. She thinks she’s nothing compared to her goddess, Euphemia. Even when said princess encourage her.
  • Inter Class Friendship: Friends with an ex noble and three members of the royal family. She’s well-off but no noble title.
  • Lipstick Lesbian: Completely hero worship Euphie to the point of being in love with her. Her continued interactions with Euphie only strengthened her feelings.
  • Sanity Slippage: When she learned about Euphie's apparent death, she was increasingly unhinged, willing to blow up herself, Ashford Academy, and the whole of the Tokyo Settlement if she doesn't find Prometheus. It terrified her friends and those there at the scene. The only thing that could possibly calm her was Nunnally revealing Lelouch saved Euphie with confirmation from Shirley, Lloyd, and Cecile.
  • Teen Genius: She developed a prototype FLEIJA with Lloyd supplying her with sakuradite.
  • Uptown Girl: She's relatively well-off for her family who associated with the Ashford family but no nobility. But Euphie is a princess.

Military

Jeremiah Gottwald

Former leader of the Purists and ally of the vi Britannias
  • Color Motif: Orange from the painting he gave his Knightmare and the pumpkin Knightmare he used at the Rising Sun Rebellion.
  • Heroic Sacrifice: Did this to buy time for Lelouch’s escape from Prometheus.
  • Large Ham: Loudly and proudly announced his loyalty to the vi Britannia line and house any chance he gets, like the Pureblood Incident and the Narita battle. His entrance in the Rising Sun Rebellion is this so much it shocked both armies into stopping briefly for a few seconds.
  • Must Make Amends: After learning the vi Britannias' survival and where their stance with the state of Britannia and Numbers, he wants to make amends to the Japanese.
  • Put on the Bus: After his reappearance at the Rising Sun Rebellion, he didn’t play any important role until the R2 of the fic.
  • Secret-Keeper: Kept the vi Britannias safe from the li Britannias.
  • Undying Loyalty: It wouldn't be Jeremiah for the vi Britannias without this. He's so insanely loyal that his single-minded goal in the Rising Sun Rebellion is the safety of Lelouch.

Viletta Nu

  • Action Girl
  • Adapted Out: Inverted. Villetta never played a role in Code Geass: Akito the Exiled but does in this version.
  • Entertainingly Wrong: She correctly deduced Lelouch was the one who resolved the Shinjuku massacre and has some form of connection with Prometheus but has the conclusion Prometheus only killed Clovis afterward, not knowing Lelouch and his inner circle have deduced someone else killed Clovis.
  • Gilded Cage: How she sees her stay with Ohgi. She literally didn't know the vi Britannias returned as royalty.
  • Social Climber: It's implied she's doing this to secure her future.
  • True Companions: with Jeremiah. She didn't betray him and is a good friend.

Andreas Darlton

  • Character Development: He started to get into the gentler world Princesses Euphemia, Nunnally, and Prince Lelouch talked about after seeing Ashford as a microcosm of it.
  • Dies Differently in Adaptation: Killed by Lelouch in the Black Rebellion in canon, killed by Prometheus in part of his Geassed participation of the SAZ massacre.
  • Good Parents: He adopts and raises them to be knights. He even considered adopting Suzaku. Because of this, he questioned the surprising good treatment the vi Britannias been getting since their return, asking if they were really the favorites, then why push them away Lelouch hates the empire?
  • Reasonable Authority Figure: He's open-minded about what Lelouch and Euphie talked about after a while of thought.

Gilbert G.P. Guilford

Kanon Maldini

Schneizel's right-hand man.
  • Early-Bird Cameo: Schneizel has a phone-call with him just as Lelouch's Ashford summer fest began on TV.

Knights of the Round

Gino Weinberg

Anya Alstreim

     Britannian Imperial Family

General

  • Black Sheep: Some if not all of the royal family members are pampered racist, warmongering imperialists who see commoners and servants as below them due to Social Darwinist ideals they were raised under. There are decent people then and there and they do have the potential to change for the better ie Cornelia.
  • Brother–Sister Team: Lelouch, Euphemia, and Nunnally are the ones who work together for their common goal. It took a while for Cornelia to join them. The vi Britannia's joint reign of Area 11 as Viceroy and Sub-Viceroy is an example.
  • Cain and Abel: Inevitable given that the royals are well-aware they could be targeted by their half-siblings. Even Nunnally is aware it is dangerous to be a royal. And not just because of people outside the court. Some members loathed they really have no choice but to fight each other.
  • Even Evil Has Loved Ones / Even Evil Can Be Loved: Despite the Cain and Abel situation, there are members who dearly loved each other and would prevent others to kill them.
  • Purple Is Powerful / Graceful Ladies Like Purple / Princesses Prefer Pink: The known royals chose a variation of white, black, purple, and pink to wear.
  • It Runs in the Family: While not all of the royal children are shown, most of the major ones displayed Oblivious to Love tendencies and at least try their hands in being true Princes and Princesses of Britannia. Not to mention they are charismatic bossy The Beautiful Elite and their bad luck. And that's not getting into the Well-Intentioned Extremist hell-bent on world domination for world peace; there are few who didn't display the conquering the world for peace like Cornelia but she is first seen conquering an Area for Britannia so...
  • Massively Numbered Siblings: There are the major (Lelouch, Nunnally, Euphie, Cornelia, Schneizel), moderate (Marrybell, Odysseus, Clovis), and minor (Laila, Guinevere, Carine, Castor, Pollux). In an audio drama, Cornelia mentioned Emil and Oscar but it's unknown if they are half-siblings or nobility but it's likely to be the former. Since Charles has 108 consorts and Nunnally being the 87th in line to the throne, there is a case of over 100 royal children that weren't named.
  • Practically Different Generations: With 108 consorts, Charles has many kids spanning years if not decades-long age difference. Odysseus (33), Guinevere (32), Schneizel (27), Cornelia (27), Clovis (24), Marrybell (17), Lelouch (17), Euphemia (16), Carine (15), Castor (15), Pollux (15), Laila (14-15), and Nunnally (14) are listed as examples. Full-blooded siblings (Cornelia and Euphemia li Britannia; Clovis and Laila la Britannia) are decades apart while the most reasonable was Lelouch and Nunnally. Unsurprising, for the latter, it was because Marianne was Charles’ favored wife.
  • Royal Blood: The blood that runs through the veins of the royals is a major plot point. Because these guys have power. Many of them have to learn that they have power as royals.
  • Royally Screwed Up: Pretty much. Royals that have to prove themselves tyrannical include Charles, Clovis, Schneizel; Euphie only because of SAZ massacre though that wasn’t what she wanted. The only ones who outwardly have a fair and good rule that wasn’t messed up much by outside forces (therefore very popular with commoners and Numbers) were the vi Britannias as (Sub)-Viceroy of Area 11. Even though there are family members who love each other, they are mostly sectioned off in groups:
    • Lelouch, Nunnally, Euphie, Clovis, Cornelia, and Schneizel
    • Guinevere, Carine, and Odysseus
    • Castor and Pollux
  • Royals Who Actually Do Something: Downright expected be it political or military or both. They are after all Princes and Princesses of Britannia and must prove themselves as such, their positions and its restrictions and power.
  • Sibling Yin-Yang: Zig-Zagged. Yet all of the known royal children are used getting their way and charismatic. They shared characteristics from Charles too.
    • Lelouch and Euphemia are two very selfless All-Loving Hero, having markedly similar goals and motivations by the end of the day but they still have their differences. They seemed intimately aware of people’s pain and their tragedies as seen with the massacres and felt every death.
    • Lelouch and Nunnally really are siblings. However, Lelouch is more like their mom while Nunnally their dad.
    • Lelouch and Cornelia are capable military leaders and overprotective older siblings who love to spoil their siblings but still different enough.
    • Lelouch and Schneizel are the genius The Chessmaster who may or may not cause the most drama in the family but they are still different from Lelouch's selflessness and emotions while Schneizel is a wall of ice and selfish lies.
  • Sins of Our Fathers: While Charles is the face of Britannia as a whole - something not a lot of people have yet to learn but few Britannians do like Milly -, the royal children are often blamed for what he did. Whether or not they partake in his warmongering or being a tyrant is up to them; inaction in their part is also to blame although being sheltered can be excused as Cornelia forcibly sheltered Euphie to suffocation that even Euphie knew that before she took action, Cornelia have rules set in place that Euphie would be a figurehead. Unfortunately, the decent members like Euphie and the vi Britannias are often blamed just because they are Britannian royals. Even members who are changing like Cornelia. What they could do is show they are active politicians and leaders in a world that does need The Wise Prince / The Good King / The High Queen. This is partly why the royals still loves and misses Clovis in spite of his despotic ruling, taking offense when people say he deserved to die.
  • Succession Crisis: Nobody knows who will become Charles’ successor. The three top candidates are Schneizel, Cornelia, and Guinevere and they don’t know. It does not help there are too many variables like royals officially dead or otherwise like the vi Britannias and Clovis and the hoard of royals to account for and their accomplishments. While it could be partially solved by where they are in succession, accomplishments are where it at with base of supporters. It could’ve been solved by Odysseus just being named heir apparent (not heir presumptive) and left at it but considering the family is Royally Screwed Up with an Emblem of Blood era well-known to everyone...
  • Unluckily Lucky: They are prone to bad luck but at the same time if things go well for them, then they're lucky.
  • Upper-Class Twit: While not all of them are geniuses, they all have accelerated education though they do attend schools such as Schneizel and Euphie mentioning it. Some if not all of the royal children are sheltered and spoiled, used to having everything at their fingertips and getting their way. They have a lot of power such as threatening a royal with death means death itself and whatever policy they make when acting as a (Sub)-Viceroy such as Euphie’s brief Sub-Viceroy rule and the vi Britannias’ reign as Viceroy and Sub-Viceroy of Area 11.

Charles zi Britannia

The 98th Emperor of Britannia.
  • Abusive Parents: This is the guy who abandoned the royal hostages in a warzone and his speech at Clovis' funeral is not good. Not even Euphemia like him. It’s implied his children are more scared of him, considering he tightened his grip on them after banishing the vi Britannias to be hostages after Lelouch spoke out. While nobody wants another Emblem of Blood era, he’s still willing to let slide attempted or real Sibling Murder if they are proven indirectly involved. And perpetuated backstabbing within the royals.
  • Doesn't Know Their Own Child: So very much. He seemed to think Lelouch, his favorite son, will follow in his footsteps, clearly not knowing his son’s true character. Ironically, in canon, he seems to know what Schneizel is capable of.
  • Jerkass: An unpleasant guy that his children agreed.
  • Orcus on His Throne: When it comes to conquering, he leaves it to his children. He is too busy elsewhere.
  • Open-Minded Parent: When Lelouch and Nunnally returned with all their decisions to make peace with commoners and Numbers, he doesn't seem to mind if their decisions are going against the Social Darwinist ideals he espoused. If anything, he encouraged it. He doesn’t seem to mind Euphie’s actions either. Though he did show scorn for it being idealistic.
  • Parental Favoritism: This went over the head of the vi Britannias as he indulged their wishes when they were restored to their rank. Schneizel saw the smile and didn’t like what it implied. Of course, anyone sane would point out their treatment before the vi Britannias came back is not what favoritism looks like.
  • Parental Neglect: Nunnally doesn’t have any memory of her father being there in her childhood. Because of this, even Euphie only sees him as a fearsome figure that made them royalty than an actual father.
  • Social Darwinist: Exposits this frequently in his addresses.
  • "Well Done, Dad!" Guy: He wants the vi Britannias to make him proud, something that flew over their heads as they are admittedly terrified of him and does not like him for their treatment before and in the war.

Marianne vi Britannia

Empress of Britannia, Lelouch and Nunnally's mother, Cornelia's hero.
  • Ace Pilot: Of the Ganymede. Only she can use it in battle while those who know how to use it can only do so much with it.
  • Cloud Cuckoo Lander: According to C.C. and Lelouch, she would fight Suzaku to make that pizza.
  • Hot Consort
  • Rags to Royalty: A Cinderella; her children are the Snow White types but their return were voluntary. It's hinted that for many Britannian girls, she's a fantasy come true.

Clovis la Britannia

The Third Prince of Britannia and the previous Viceroy of Area 11.
  • Chivalrous Pervert: Cornelia mentioned the swimsuits he designed to her utter dismay.
  • The Dandy: At least Lelouch is intimidating as a Viceroy. Everyone knows him as a fop who wasn’t a good politician nor a Warrior Prince.
  • Dies Differently in Adaptation: Still dies via Boom, Headshot!. It's not Lelouch who killed him but an unknown assailant.
  • Decapitation Presentation: Prometheus did this to stir ill will between the Japanese and Britannians. The family who loved him was sick to the bones and knows full well if they die against him and he has a chance to decapitate their head from the body. It was so memorable everyone from royals to the Japanese refers to it.
  • Excessive Mourning: Downplayed. The reason he became Viceroy of Area 11 was to make it a perfect resting place for the vi Britannias. Two of his passwords are the vi Britannias’ birthdays and nickname/related to the thing they love. He made a copy of the Aries Villa gardens on a rooftop of the Viceroy Palace and painted from memories the vi Britannia family. But he doesn’t neglect his duties as a prince who preferred parties and paintings. He’s just a terrible politician and no Warrior Prince.
  • Irony: He wanted to make Area 11 a perfect resting place for the vi Britannias but the vi Britannias, as much as they love him, disapprove his rule and treatment of the Japanese. They actually prefer how Euphie would have ruled or even Clovis himself would have before Cornelia and Schneizel said the wrong thing and he took it the wrong way.
  • Laser-Guided Amnesia: Along with being spared, Lelouch has Clovis not remember Lelouch as the one who stopped him. It heavily implied that he didn’t want to break the slight bond of the family as well as protecting his identity.
  • Royals Who Actually Do Something: He tried but he’s ill-suited for politics and the battlefield. Even the vi Britannias said while they love and miss him, he’s not a good leader.
  • Successful Sibling Syndrome: As a royal of Britannia and expected to do something, all he got was political connections from his various parties. He's very far down the succession line and it doesn't seem he care much about being on the throne. The siblings he's close to are much more successful than him and he doesn't seem to care much about being in the shadows. From what he feared about the Code R project getting out, he feared disinheritance at best and his life at stake at the worst.
  • Spared by the Adaptation: Subverted. Lelouch spared him after learning Suzaku is alive and how much Clovis misses the vi Britannias but still shot him because he needs to have some punishment for his crimes. But he was killed by another party when he was transported to a hospital.
  • Troubled Sympathetic Bigot: He has a hatred for Numbers, the Japanese in particular in the belief they killed the vi Britannias during the war. The vi Britannias are horrified to learn his hate went beyond the pale by massacring them.

Euphemia li Britannia

The Third Princess of Britannia and then-current Sub-Viceroy of Area 11. Succeeded by Nunnally as the Sub-Viceroy of Area 11.
  • All-Loving Hero: So much but Break the Cutie happened and she was forced to confront war and bloodshed are inevitable when trying to create the peaceful gentle world. She's still this, just to be clear.
  • Badass Pacifist: She wanted a nonviolent way to stop the war at least on the Japanese front. Unfortunately, even with her Character Development, her methods aren’t meant to be in the war-torn world she lives in.
  • Break the Cutie: The SAZ destroyed and the massacre that occurred there and that she killed people there certainly. She resigned from her position as Sub-Viceroy of Area 11 to take some time away from Area 11 to deal with her depression.
  • Character Development: She evolved into her Code Geass: Nightmare of Nunnally incarnation after Lelouch called her out for her recklessness.
  • Clark Kenting: Likes to do this.
  • Hero with Bad Publicity: Since the SAZ massacre came from her royal order, she would have to work hard afterward.
  • Secret-Keeper: Knew Lelouch Lamperouge was actually vi Britannia and Alice as Pandora, keeping that identity secret from the vi Britannias after Euphie recognized Alice at Ashford.
  • Must Make Amends: Since the SAZ massacre even though it wasn't her fault, she felt every death there and did everything to make amends to the Japanese and the Numbers.
  • Oblivious to Love: She can see Lelouch and Suzaku's love for each other and Guilford's love for Cornelia but failed to see people have crushes on her.
  • Plucky Girl: She’s a Wide-Eyed Idealist and determined to make the gentle world she and her siblings dreamed of.
  • Reasonable Authority Figure: She's willing to listen to others' opinions and thoughts and tried to help as much as possible within her own power.
  • Royals Who Actually Do Something: When Lelouch got her head on straight, she cleared away corruption and signed off orders.
  • Silk Hiding Steel: Her Character Development made her into this.
  • Spared by the Adaptation: Due to character development, her trajectory is different. She was saved by Lelouch who managed to reverse the command on her
  • Successful Sibling Syndrome: Downplayed. She felt, as a princess, people only look at her because she’s connected to Cornelia and Lelouch’s actions upon his return make her wonder what can she do and plan next. In comparison to say Carine or even Odysseus, she’s still more successful.
  • "Well Done, Son" Guy: Wants Lelouch to be proud of her and got a So Proudof You from him.
  • What the Hell, Hero?: At a receiving end of one by Lelouch who called her out for her recklessness.
  • The Wise Prince

Cornelia li Britannia

The Second Princess of Britannia and then-current Viceroy of Area 11. Succeeded by Duke Calares then Lelouch as Viceroy of Area 11.
  • Big Sister Instinct: Invested in her younger siblings' well-being and happiness that when she learned the vi Britannias survived and coming back, it further mounted. She was so smothering her dear younger siblings loathed it, feeling like she wasn’t listening to their opinions and keeping them as ornamental royals in a prison. Though she will be proud of them showing they can be rulers in their own right.
  • Character Development: After learning how her beloved vi Britannias grew up differently from her, she was willing to adapt to their happiness.
  • Clark Kenting: Went to the Ashford summer fest in this to see her younger siblings who she knew is there.
  • Cool Big Sis: Loves to spoil her siblings and indulge their wishes...if she listen to them that is. She has a tendency to not listen to her younger siblings’ opinions until she was forced to.
  • Iron Lady: She isn’t suited for politics as her siblings say she rather faces obstacles head-on with blunt force. However, she’s still tough and won’t take nonsense like parties when important stuff is to be dealt with.
  • My Beloved Smother: Her younger siblings know she means well but her smothering prevents them from spreading their wings and making her listen to them. She disliked any revealing swimsuits like a speedo so she rather makes sure they are appropriate when her younger siblings are all too willing.
  • Oblivious to Love: Failed to pick up on Guilford's affections for her that her sister picked up on.
  • Red Baron: Witch of Britannia or Goddess of Victory.
  • Royals Who Actually Do Something: She isn't called the Goddess of Victory/Witch of Britannia for nothing. She's a frontrunner for the throne but politics isn't her strong suit, unlike the siblings she's close to barring Clovis.
  • Troubled Sympathetic Bigot: Euphie confirms to Lelouch Cornelia have a hatred towards the Japanese in particular for the belief the vi Britannias died by the Japanese’s hands in the war. Of course, Lelouch won’t dare tell Cornelia he really was a target of murder in the war by Genbu.

Schneizel el Britannia

The Second Prince of Britannia and the current Prime Minister.
  • Aloof Big Brother: He does have some measure of caring for his family as Lelouch saw he was genuine about the vi Britannias finding happiness in the exile.
  • Affably Evil: Euphie noted after an investigation that he says peace but his actions say otherwise. She and Lelouch confirmed he doesn’t see commoners and servants as humans and have no problem attempting to kill Suzaku, Prometheus, Lelouch, Euphemia, Kallen, and Pandora without hesitation; even if he had known his siblings are there, it’s doubtful he would stop it as Cecile and Lloyd can see he doesn’t believe what he’s saying. And all this behind a soft polite smile. That said Lelouch could tell he was genuine about the vi Britannias finding happiness in exile (According to Word of God, he hasn’t lost that yet as it would take longer).
  • Ax-Crazy: Hides it well beneath a veneer of benevolence, sophistication, and affability but he doesn’t even blink attempting to kill even his sister when alerted about it in Shikine.
  • Consummate Liar: He rarely ever tells the truth. Cecile and Lloyd can see right through him about what he said about Suzaku when his act was nearly killing him without a second thought and no regrets. Euphie also saw through his lies of wanting peace when she was investigating.
  • Lack of Empathy: He seems to present himself as a gentle and reasonable man but make no question he doesn’t care for commoners and servants and would not hesitate to kill people even when Euphemia was there. Certainly even he was appalled by the SAZ massacre but he didn’t care for the commonfolk.
  • Light Is Not Good: Wears white frequently and choose the white side in chess always. But make no mistake, unlike his Dark Is Not Evil little brother, he cares little for people he doesn’t bother to care or know. And even then his attachments are limited.
  • Manipulative Bastard: Likes to go for shattered points with a hammer or underhanded tactics to break. However, he does not account for people changing and risks.
  • Non-Action Guy: While Lelouch is a Squishy Wizard and unlikely to win in hand in hand combat, he goes to the battlefield himself. Schneizel is unlikely to go on the battlefield, preferring to use underhanded tactics or directing from behind.
  • Not So Stoic: Dropped his mask when he saw Lelouch in a brief Stunned Silence.
  • Reasonable Authority Figure: Subverted in spite of this facade. For one, he didn’t call off the attack when alerted his own sister would be caught in the attack, didn’t care he would be destroying a project he personally funded, and callous with his treatment with Suzaku and especially those he doesn’t deem important.
  • Red Baron: The White Prince.
  • Royals Who Actually Do Something: According to Lloyd, his list of accomplishments is far ahead of everyone else and he's in the lead for the throne race with Cornelia and Guinevere.
  • The Wise Prince: Looks like this but isn’t. According to Euphemia, he called for peace but his actions say otherwise.

V.V.

The current leader of the Geass Order, the twin brother of Charles and thusly the uncle of the royal children

     Taiyo no Heishi

General

  • Cosmic Motifs: The sun. Or more specifically the very old imperial Japan flag before the red Sun without the rays. If that wasn’t a hint that’s nationalistic, then what is?
  • Dramatically Missing the Point: A result of a mix of stubbornness and nationalism. They have a right to hate the Britannian royal family and a desire for freedom. However, they didn’t consider other Britannians would disagree with their ruler, have the capacity to change and make up for their actions, and do mean what they say about equality with Numbers. They really don’t look at the bigger picture much because they are so focused on freeing Japan. Ironically, it is the Britannians in the group who see the bigger picture, really the Britannians who actually consider can see it. They are slightly open-minded to outsiders but they barely listened to them. Even when Lelouch, Euphie, and Milly pointed out Charles is the main cause, they don’t listen because all Britannians are at fault for so many tragedies. Or just don’t consider what others are saying. It’s not Holier Than Thou because they are simply stubborn and so used to thinking all Britannians are bad that they don’t account for the change from that side.
    • What they want is their old Japan back. They're proud to be Japanese and seemed to have trouble involving different ethnicities and nationalities as they seemed suspicious. Their mentality is very nationalistic.
  • The Dreaded: Barring a few members who can take them, the Britannian royals feared death at their hands, more specifically Prometheus’. Not after the Decapitation Presentation. Given how the Rising Sun Rebellion turned out for the royals there, it’s Duke Calares who took the Viceroy seat. Even though the li Britannias resigned for different reasons, the vi Britannias can’t retrieve the offices until they have enough power and want to go back.
  • Foil: To the Black Knights.
  • He Who Fights Monsters: They sincerely believe they are fighting injustice without any hint of irony or self-awareness. However, their methods come across as Evil Versus Evil than Pay Evil unto Evil. Only the leaders are self-aware they are terrorists unless those they like pointed it out, they ignore it.
  • Holding Out for a Hero: A variation. Outwardly looks like We Help the Helpless but if one looks at it closely, the leaders believe that the helpless are weak that they need to ask for their help and have no problem killing innocents if it gets the job done.
  • Meaningful Name: Literally translates to Soldiers of the Sun.
  • Revenge: While most of them just want their freedom back, some do want blood. While the leaders are the worst case, the SAZ massacre did not help, especially given the manipulated info they got.
  • Secret-Keeper: Knew the vi Britannias’ status at Ashford from Prometheus and Tohdoh.
  • Suicide Attack: Not much but implied for certain members. To protect their Knightmares secrets, some would do this. Rai geassed two people to do this after finding them useless. It’s unlikely the important members would have to do this.
  • Your Terrorists Are Our Freedom Fighters: The fic notes there is a difference between these two. Civilians will be caught up in war regardless because that's inevitable. However, targeting innocents and making sure the casualties are high is a different matter.

Rai/Ray Sanderson

The Treasurer of Ashford Student Council. Prometheus of Taiyo no Heishi.
  • Ace Custom: Gekken Pre-Production Test Type.
  • Always Save the Girl: Give him a chance to save Lelouch and he will abandon anything reasonable to save him. He was already going to save Lelouch and his friends with Euphemia in the Lake Kawaguchi crisis but knows if he wants his group to be a freedom fighter team than a terrorist team, he must save all of the hostages.
  • Ax-Crazy: Double subverted. He’s willing to kill civilians and make it high in deaths but even he has standards.
  • Bad Boss: He has no problem Geassing Mooks if they are supposedly useless and play it off as a sacrifice on their part. He sees his soldiers as expendable and thought to discard Ohgi if he was indeed useless in the end.
  • Blue Blood: Part of the Pendragon royal court before the Unperson
  • The Chessmaster: Trying to be one. He’s a good strategist and could stand toe to toe with Cornelia and maybe Lelouch if he accounts for certain things. However, his plans are so similar to Lelouch’s plans as Zero that Lelouch has an advantage.
  • Consummate Liar: A defining trait.
  • Dark and Troubled Past: He lived a happy childhood at Pendragon royal court and was playmates with a young Lelouch, Nunnally, and Euphemia at Aries Villa. However, his noble house was massacred and unpersoned by Charles and V.V. and taken as a child experiment and Tyke-Bomb for the Geass Order. He escaped with Alice and arrived in Japan before the invasion. Needless to say, he’s one of the more messed-up characters.
  • Domestic Abuse: Not officially as he’s a Hopeless Suitor. He has blaring red flags as much as he thinks and interacts with Lelouch.
  • Entitled to Have You: Seems to have the idea just because Lelouch hates Britannia and would have agreed with the destruction method and that he was the first friend makes him want to have by his side.
  • Even Evil Has Standards: Willing to kill civilians in horrific ways but does not want the SAZ massacre at all.
  • Foil: To Zero/Lelouch. They both considered their civilian lives as Lelouch Lamperouge and Ray Sanderson lies but shares a connection with the student council. Their lineage is true Blue Blood yet he embraces his Britannian-Japanese blood as Rai is apparently a nickname from his full name and wanting revenge for the death of his noble house while Lelouch rejected his royal blood.
    • Lelouch and Rai deified Nunnally and Lelouch respectively. However, Lelouch let go of the image and knew Nunnally is much more than her smile while Rai seemed to have some idea of Lelouch's true character but insists Lelouch's core is pure.
  • It's All My Fault: He admitted it was his fault SAZ massacre happened and knew Lelouch has every right to hate him not just for nearly killing Euphie.
  • Jerkass: He has no problem killing civilians and even his own soldiers if the latter isn’t useful. He treated Suzaku out of jealousy that Milly and Shirley see it as what it really was while Lelouch and Kallen mistook it for racism.
  • Lack of Empathy: He didn’t care for the Refrain victims and the Narita townsfolk. still even he knows SAZ massacre was his fault and never wanted it to happen.
  • Manipulative Bastard: A defining trait as he casually eased his would-be soldiers’ troubles into following him, a supposed Zero figure.
  • Meaningful Name: He chose Prometheus because he’s bringing back the fire Britannia took from Japan and igniting destruction and growth. Lelouch pointed out he’s not quite as well-meaning and Prometheus himself didn’t want the punishment given. His nickname Rai derived on how liar was written in Japanese.
  • Mysterious Past: Unknown except used to be part of the Pendragon royal court, his noble family destroyed by V.V., kidnapped into the Geass Order, met Alice there and escaped with her, was there when NAC established itself and went to Ashford with Alice years later.
  • O.C. Stand-in: Rai makes a cameo in the anime so he’s technically canon. It helped that Rai in Lost Colors is a blank slate for the most part.
  • Omnicidal Maniac: wants the world to burn, causing ill will among Japanese and Britannians. He is willing to kill civilians in high numbers. Still, Lelouch, Kaguya, Suzaku, and Nunnally can see he doesn’t have the well-being of Japan in mind.
  • Only Known by Their Nickname: Rai is a nickname from his real name. Renamed the Same where for his Britannian alias he just switched up the letter i for a y.
  • Reasonable Authority Figure: Acting as one. He is making himself out as a Zero figure, after all, judging by Geassing his soldiers to ask them what they want out of a leader they will follow.
  • Revenge: Wants this for the murder of his noble house and treatment by the Geass Order. Unfortunately, he also wants to kill the people who literally know nothing about the Geass Order like the li Britannias and almost all of the royal children.
  • Sanity Slippage
  • Secret Secret-Keeper: Is aware of the vi Britannias' status at Ashford, the Ragnarok Connection plan by V.V., Charles, and Marianne, and that the vi Britannias are Charles' favorites
  • Stalker with a Crush: Comes off like this to Lelouch after saying things Lelouch knew at Aries Villa.
  • Villain Reveals the Secret: A favorite tactic of his with graphic evidence if he gets it. He revealed the Shinjuku massacre and Suzaku as Lancelot’s pilot to the world to gain support.
  • Yandere: For Lelouch. He's willing to Murder the Hypotenuse AKA Suzaku who he considered his true rival for Lelouch's hand.
  • You Have Outlived Your Usefulness: has no problem killing his minions if they are this.

Alice Sanderson

Honorary member of Ashford Student Council and Nunnally's best friend. Pandora of Taiyo no Heishi.
  • A-Cup Angst: She didn't like it compared to Kallen, Milly, and Shirley.
  • Because You Were Nice to Me: Loyal to Rai for saving her from the Geass Order and recognizing her. On a lesser note, if she wasn’t so intent on bloodshed, her relationship with Nunnally would inspire a similar devotion.
  • Dark and Troubled Past: She was in the Geass Order to be a Tyke-Bomb yet apparently a failed experiment. She was supposed to be killed by Rai who instead saved her and escaped.
  • Foil: To Nunnally
  • Little Miss Badass: Only 14-15 and she can kick ass.
  • Mean Boss: While she had a justified reaction towards a man who underestimated her for her age and sex, she went a little too far by not hesitating to shoot to demand respect and doesn't seem to mind Rai's killings of his soldiers if they are supposedly useless, not even dissuading him to think twice.
  • Meaningful Name: Chose Pandora for all the secrets and as she told Euphie all the demons are out there and once enough blood was spilled would peace come. Though Euphie said there is still hope left in the world.
  • Mind Rape: In order to stop Suzaku from killing or capturing them, she heightened her Geass extremely she passed out and calmed a traumatized Rai and that it’s pretty obvious Suzaku regained his traumatic memories.
  • Mysterious Past: Not much is known except she’s a probable Number from an Area who was kidnapped into the Geass Order, met Rai and escaped with him, traveled to Japan before the war, was there when NAC established itself and left for Ashford with Rai.
  • O.C. Stand-in: Alice made her first and only appearance in Code Geass: Nightmare of Nunnally but her status as Nunnally’s best friend is still there.
  • Secret Secret-Keeper: knew the vi Britannias’ true status, the Ragnarok Connection plan.
  • Superpower Lottery: Geass of Illusion. She can block and change the senses within a certain domain at a detriment. She was also capable of heightening her Geass to Mind Rape level though Heroic RRoD will kick in.
  • Undying Loyalty: To Rai.
  • Uptown Girl: She's a commoner and a Number from an Area. Nunnally is a princess.

Kallen Kozuki-Stadtfeld

Ace Pilot of the Honoo Squad.
  • Ace Custom: Guren.
  • Action Girl: The best pilot of the group and as canon later states, of the world. She's extremely athletic and has no problem kicking ass as a civilian too.
  • Lethal Chef: According to her, she can’t cook and when she did, it’s often burned to a crisp of inedible. In comparison to Rivalz’s lack of taste and Shirley’s habit of distraction when it comes to cooking.
  • Loss of Identity: Being friends with Britannians including one working on xenophobia made her think. It took a while, especially after the SAZ massacre
  • Heroic BSoD: Has one during the Rising Sun Rebellion. Discombobulated by what Suzaku saying, Ohgi saying Prometheus is the one they can entrust for Naoto's dream, and learning who Prometheus actually is...
  • Hopeless Suitor: She's one for Prometheus and Lelouch. Lelouch and Prometheus see her as a friend with Lelouch only expressing interest in Shirley and Suzaku.
  • Hot-Blooded: Passionate and emotional. Rai used her emotions to make her an easier follower.

Ohgi Kamane

Second in Command.
  • Bigot with a Crush: He does not like Britannians and have a low opinion at the start but developed a crush on Viletta as Chigusa. On the upside, at least he’s kinda open to the idea of equality with Britannians.
  • Heel Realization: He said he did deserve the shooting by Viletta on the com call with Kallen. After so long of bad feelings he’s done wrong too.
  • Infraction Distraction: He used Chigusa as his girlfriend to cover up what he’s doing. Since he never told them, it comes off as if he just got himself a girlfriend.

Shinichiro Tamaki

  • The Fool: To his leaders’ exasperation, he more often than not survives no matter what.
  • Gut Feeling: Has this about the lack of trustworthiness of Prometheus.
  • Reasonable Authority Figure: He's open-minded to Britannians who are kind and good like the Ashford student council after a while at least until the SAZ massacre.
  • Sitcom Arch-Nemesis: Played more seriously than others. As opposed to his loyalty to Zero, he has this with his leaders. They are annoyed when they are near each other.

Diethard Reid

The former TV producer and PR guy of the group.
  • Intellectually Supported Tyranny: He found reporting on Britannia boring with the same old expansion and corruption. He managed to make Clovis, a bad politician on all accounts, a competent and intimidating Viceroy. Even he is aware Prometheus wants the world to burn and not remake the world. Really he has no loyalty to Britannia as much for someone to change the boring world. While he gets to watch.
  • Going for the Big Scoop: Only in it for this as he doesn’t align with anyone as long as he’s in the innermost line of history in the making (well the side of an In-Universe Magnificent Bastard). Instead of being a passive observer, he does affect things thus play a part in history.
  • Jerkass: Only in the Taiyo no Heishi for getting the front row seat to see something new.
  • Lack of Empathy: He was gleeful when the SAZ massacre came about. Not once thinking Prometheus doesn’t want it.
  • Token Evil Teammate: Yes, even in an actual terrorist group, he comes off as Eviler than Thou simply because of his selfishness and Lack of Empathy. At least Rai and Alice displayed regret and horror in their more gruesome acts.

Kyoshiro Tohdoh

  • Honor Before Reason: He does not want to kill Suzaku and Lelouch either in an assassination or just for the fact the former is an Honorary Britannian. Even now, he made sure to tell others that there are lines one shouldn’t cross.
  • Reasonable Authority Figure: It’s implied he’s unsurprised with Lelouch choosing Suzaku as his knight, knowing what the latter did. That said he really didn’t help a traumatized Suzaku.
  • Oblivious to Love: Doesn’t notice Chiba is in love with him. It doesn’t help that he disapproved of her extremist views including killing Suzaku.

The Four Holy Swords: Nagisa Chiba, Kosetsu Urabe, Shogo Asahina, Ryoga Senba

  • Brutal Honesty: Chiba is honest about her views as her fellow Swords and leader chastise her on her extremism and willingness to murder a Japanese teenager just because he’s on Britannia’s side. To which Tohdoh does not want ever.
  • Hypocrite: Chiba called herself not a nationalist to which her peers found it ironic. She expressed distaste for the fact Prometheus is half-Britannian and called Suzaku a traitor without listening to his reasons, agreeing with Kusakabe. She hates Suzaku’s knighting.
  • Only Sane Man: Urabe. He found Chiba's attitude and hypernationalism not good. He's open-minded about why some people don't trust Prometheus.

Rakshata Chawla

     Japanese

Sayoko Shinozaki

The 37th successor of the Shinozaki School. Nursemaid/Bodyguard of the vi Britannias when they were in hiding at Ashford Academy.
  • Battle Butler: The secret bodyguard of the vi Britannias as their nursemaid when they were in hiding. Ashfords knew this to specifically assigned an elite fighter to their protection.
  • Cloud Cuckoolander: Thought C.C. was Lelouch’s lover before both made clear what it is.
  • Lady-In-Waiting: Technically, this would be her role aside from being a Battle Butler when the vi Britannias emerged from hiding.
