The Player Character's Party

    The Player Character/The Avatar
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/wallpaper_avatar_6.jpg
From left to right: Swordsman, Arcanist, Exorcist
The main character. He's an ordinary human who suddenly got transported into Luxium by the Wheel of Fate. He's trying to find the way back home.

Because only his soul is transported to Luxium, his body isn't his real body, but rather merely an Avatar created by the Wheel of Fate. He can change between three different Avatars: Swordsman, Arcanist, and Exorcist anytime outside of battle. Each Avatar also has three different specializations, giving him up to nine different skillsets to play with.

  • Barrier Warrior: The Defense Swordsman's most notable skill is erecting a giant barrier that protects all allies from damage.
  • Cast from Hit Points: Berserker Swordsman has very strong attacks, but at the cost of automatically taking a small amount of damage every turn. Additionally, if his Double-Bladed Slash skill is upgraded, he can use it twice in a row, but the second time will cost a chunk of his HP.
  • Combat Medic: Discipline Exorcist can both heal allies and damage enemies. In fact, his main gimmick is to convert the damage he deals into healing for allies.
  • Damage Over Time:
    • Strategist Swordsman can inflict Bleed which deals physical damage every time the enemy acts.
    • Soul Exorcist specializes even more in dealing DoT. He can inflict Soul Torture effect, which deals high amount of magical damage on enemy turns. He can also release the DoT effect all at once, dealing massive damage in a single burst if the enemy has high enough stack of Soul Torture.
    • Fire Arcanist uses a unique kind of Damage Over Time, in that it does damage proportional to what the he has done before. For example, if a Fire Arcanist does 1000 damage to a target, then it will take 500 damage the next turn, then 250 the turn after.
  • Damager, Healer, Tank: Each class roughly corresponds to one of them. Exorcist can be either damager with Soul spec or a healer with Discipline and Holy spec. Swordsman can be a pure tank with Defense spec, or a hybrid between tank and damager with the other specs. Arcanist, however, is all about the damage.
  • Elemental Powers: Each specialization is tied to different Flux attributes.
    • Fire: Strategist Swordsman, Fire Arcanist
    • Water: Frost Arcanist, Holy Exorcist
    • Wood: Discipline Exorcist
    • Earth: Berserk Swordsman
    • Metal: Lightning Arcanist, Defense Swordsman
    • Arcana: Soul Exorcist
  • Draw Aggro: Being a Tank, Defense Swordsman naturally attracts the enemy's attention more than other party members. He can also cast Taunt to make targeted enemies lose control and only use basic attacks on himself.
  • Fire, Ice, Lightning: The Arcanist's specializations. You start with Lightning, and unlocks Frost and Fire later.
  • Gathering Steam: How Strategy Swordsman plays. Some of his skills get stronger with each use in battle, and his passive skill increases his damage whenever he gets his turn. His "Killing" move is meant to be used near the end of the battle, with it doing more damage to enemies with low HP.
  • Hello, [Insert Name Here]: His name is decided by the player. It will also serve as the player's username.
  • Job System: While you need to choose between one of the three classes in the beginning, you can unlock the others as you level up. Once unlocked, you can change between classes and specializations freely outside battles.
  • Mechanically Unusual Fighter: Not in battle, but in terms of upgrading. He uses completely different upgrade systems than other characters. He equips Artisouls instead of upgrading weapons with runes, and he levels up using Flux Crystals rather than leveling up Intimacy or Epiphany.
  • Soul Power: Soul Exorcist can use their power to control and torture the enemies' souls, dealing high amount of Damage Over Time.
  • Support Party Member: Unlike Combat Medic Discipline, Holy Exorcist is purely oriented towards support. In addition to healing, he can also confer other effects such as a shield that prevents the target from dying while it's up or revive fallen allies.
  • Tactical Rock–Paper–Scissors: In PvP, The three classes are arranged in Swordsman > Exorcist > Arcanist > Swordsman.
    • Swordsman's physical damage hurts the physically frail Exorcist, and his attacks also carry additional effects such as reducing heal amount or preventing enemy from being resurrected. Additionally, Exorcist's healing prolonging the battle also lets Swordsman build up up his Rage and passive stacks for higher damage.
    • Exorcist takes reduced damage from magic attacks, making it hard for Arcanist to kill him. His healing makes battles last longer, which is disadvantageous for Glass Cannon Arcanist, who can easily be killed by the Exorcist's allies while he's recovering his Mana meter.
    • Arcanist's big burst damage can easily overwhelm Swordsman. Fire Arcanist's passive ability protects him from physical damage, and Frost Arcanist can inflict Freeze, which renders the melee-based Swordsman helpless.

    Billy
Voiced by: Vernon Drew
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/billy_default_8.png
"Something needs fixing?"
One of the first Gyee the Avatar meets in Luxium and one of his constant companions. Billy is a mechanic and also Turing's assistant and bodyguard. Billy was born and raised in Red Harbour, but he dreams of traveling around the world. Once Turing decided to settle down in Never Isle, he dismissed Billy and sent him to accompany the Avatar in his journey.

In battle, Billy is categorized as a Tank with an affinity to the Earth flux. His basic skill, Special Repair strikes an enemy with his giant wrench. His advanced skill, Popping Drill, launches a drill that Silences the target and bounces to two other targets. His ultimate skill, Metal Defense, puts up a shield around an ally that significantly reduces the damage taken. His Mastery passive, Alloy Armor, significantly reduces the amount of physical damage Billy takes.

  • Dishing Out Dirt: His Popping Drill deals Earth-elemental damage to enemies it hits.
  • Optional Party Member: Averted. Unlike most characters which need to be summoned from the Gate of Pacts, Billy is given to you very early in the story, making him one of the Gyees all players have.
  • Status Effects: He can inflict Silence to stop enemies from using anything but their basic attacks.
  • Stone Wall: Billy's damage isn't much, but he is one of the sturdiest Gyee in the game. On top of his high defensive stats, he can further reduce damage with his passive and his ultimate skill.
  • Wrench Whack: His weapon is a giant mechanical wrench, fitting as he's an airship mechanic.

    Kitty
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/kitty_default.png
Voiced by: Alejandro Saab
"Of course I'm a boy. I'm cute!"
One of the students at Arcana Academy on Never Isle. Together with Yaen, he is one of the "Prankster Duo" who makes troubles around Never Isle. When you start your journey, President Vundo assigns Kitty to help you as his graduation project.

Kitty is an orphan who was abandoned for being a Gyee. As such, he is very sensitive when the topic of Gyee discrimination is brought up.

In battle, Kitty is classified as a Mage with affinity to Arcana. Despite being a Mage, Kitty uses his mechanical cat paws to attack from a close range. His first skill, Kitten Attack, strikes his target with the cat paws and prevents them from going invisible. His second skill, Flux Smash, shoots an array of Arcana beams and inflict Chaos effect on the target. His ultimate skill, Cat Claw, deals massive magical damage to a single target.

  • Animal Motifs: Cats, obviously.
  • Berserk Button: Implying Gyee is an abnormal condition or anything along those lines is a surefire way to get Kitty mad.
  • Dude Looks Like a Lady: He has a small build, a relatively high voice, and a feminine face. Apparently he needs to clarify he's a boy in his intro line.
  • Little Bit Beastly: He has a pair of cat ears on top of his head, in contrast to other beastmen Gyee.

Never Isle

Arcana Academy

    Vundo
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/vundo_default.png
Voiced by: Kaiji Tang
"Class is in session!"
The headmaster of Arcana Academy in Never Isle.

In battle, Vundo is an Arcana Mage. His specialty is inflicting heavy Damage Over Time to enemies. He also has other tricks such as trapping an enemy in a cage to prevent them from using melee attacks, or surrounding himself with mists that protect him from negative status effects.

  • Badass Teacher: The headmaster of the Arcana Academy, and quite the powerful mage.
  • Child Prodigy: He used to be one, being an apprentice at age 6, finishing the studies at 10, and becoming a teacher at only 18.
  • Damage Over Time: Everytime an enemy is attacked by Vundo, they gain a stack of Arcana Stamp status, which deals damage at the start of their turn. Vundo's ultimate skill, Arcana Lesson, inflict 3 stacks at once to all enemies.
  • Student/Teacher Romance: Heavily implied between him and Turing, given how often he expresses concern for Turing's well-being, and Turing always blushes whenever the topic of Vundo comes up.

    Yaen
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/yaen_default.png
Voiced by: Faye Mata
"A genius is beyond your understanding."
A young female student in Arcana Academy, with a large penchant for pranks. She is an orphan, hailing from the same orphanage as Kitty. When Kitty was sent to the Arcana Academy, Yaen sneaked inside the luggage. In Never Isle, both of them are known as the Prankster Duo, although Yaen is by far the worse of the two when it comes to pranks. Her favorite target is Izumi.

Yaen is an Arcana Mage in battle. Her signature skill is to transform into Witch Form mid-battle, which gives her a different skillset than her normal form. When in Witch Form, she stockpiles power every round, and then unleashes them for massive damage upon returning to her normal form. She's also known for being able to transform enemies into weak Cannye minions.

  • Attention Whore: Her Perversion stage reveals the reason she enjoys pulling pranks is because she's lonely and wants attention.
  • Bratty Half-Pint: She's a genius at Arcana, and she knows it.
  • Child Prodigy: She's quite the powerful mage, and she's only 10 years old. She's capable of messing with sealed magic in the tower, and she's also capable of creating Arcana mutants. Unfortunately, she uses these skills for pranks.
  • Dub Name Change: In the Japanese version, her name is changed to "Sugar".
  • Forced Transformation: Her Dimensional Blast skill can inflict the Deform status on enemies, turning them into weak Cannyes who can only use weak melee attacks.
  • Sweet Tooth: Her other defining trait other than being a prankster is her love for candies. She also uses them in battle, as some of her skills are based on candies, such as dropping a giant lollipop or making bubblegums explode.

Order of Equality

    Eddie
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/eddie_default.png
Voiced by: Sean Chiplock
"Practice makes the perfect shot."

One of the first people you meet in Luxium. Eddie is a member of the Order of Equality, a Gyee organization aiming to improve the relationship between Gyees and regular humans. He used to be close friends with Miles, but after the fall of Azria, their differing philosophies turned them into rivals of sorts.

Eddie is a Ranger using Metal Flux. His signature abilities are always moving first in battles regardless of everyone else's speed, and inflicting Delay on his first target, making them move last. These abilities make him an effective first turn nuker, or disrupting the enemy's turn orders. He can also steal attack from enemies, and preventing them from going Invisible.

  • Action Pet: Chandler, his pet hawk.
  • Animal Motifs: Birds, but less so than Miles' wolves.
  • Aw, Look! They Really Do Love Each Other: He's always fighting with Miles, but they do care about each other. In one side story, Eddie purposefully hides information about corrupted wolves because he knows Miles will take it personally.
  • Belligerent Sexual Tension: With Miles. Whenever they meet, they will inevitably got into fights, but it's made clear both of them miss the day when they were close friends. He also gets nervous easily and blushes a lot when the topic is about Miles.
  • Combat Pragmatist: Takes full advantage of his ability to go first, using it to cripple enemies and force them to go last. He's also not above using Chandler creatively either; enemies exposed by Chandler cannot go into steal or invisibility for two rounds. Additionally, Chandler scars units, making them more susceptible to ranged damage.
  • Foil: To Miles. Both are long-range Gyee with animal companions. Eddie fights to abolish the prejudice that humanity has against Gyee while Miles fights because he hates humanity and believes that Gyee are superior.
  • Multishot: His Ultimate has him leaping into the air and firing three arrows.
  • Nice Guy: A very nice and friendly guy. He readily explains Luxium to you when he found out you're from another world. Nemesio even said he's too much of a goody-two-shoes.
  • Noble Bird of Prey: Chandler the hawk is Eddie's loyal companion. He doesn't even eat meat, preferring cherries.
  • Speaks Fluent Animal: Downplayed; he and Chandler can't actually speak with each other, but they understand each other intuitively enough that they might as well be talking.
  • Trick Arrow: Fires arrows that cripple enemies, like stealing their strength or delaying their turn.
  • Tsundere: He gets very easily agitated when facing Miles, but he's a nice guy to everyone else.

    Will
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/will_default.png
Voiced by: James Horan
"Strategy, not brute force."
The leader of Light of Purity, a subdivision within Order of Equality.
  • The Big Guy: He's one of the oldest Gyees, and also one of the tallest.
  • Death from Above: At the start of every turn, he rains down cannonfire on all enemies, and he also does this with his second skill for 2 turns.
  • Lightning Bruiser: Will is very tanky, moves surprisingly fast, and dishes out lots of damage over time.
  • Old Soldier: He's one of the oldest Gyees, and is no less competent of a leader for it.

Oathblades

    Miles
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/miles_default.png
Voiced by: Billy Kametz
"Don't piss me off... Hmph!"

A member of the Oathblades, an organization focused on protecting Gyee and assaulting their enemies. He used to be a close friend of Eddie, but their differing philosophies has made them drift apart.

In battle, Miles is a Wood Ranger, using his shotgun to deal massive single target damage. Miles can turn invisible while he's charging for his strongest skill, protecting him from single attacks. He can also call upon his Animal Companion, Grey, to boost his damage and protect him from ranged attacks.

  • Action Pet: Utilizes his wolf companion Grey in combat.
  • Animal Motifs: Wolves
  • Belligerent Sexual Tension: With Eddie. Both of them always fight when they meet, but both of them also keep a childhood photo from when they were friends.
  • Cannot Spit It Out: Clearly cares for Eddie, but an argument between the two and a few extremely hurtful words from Miles resulted in a rift between them.
  • Establishing Character Moment: The first thing he does is pick a fight with you and Eddie.
  • Fantastic Racism: Hates humans after being abandoned in the wild by his parents after they learned he was a Gyee, but gets better as the story goes on.
  • Foil: To Miles. Both are long-range Gyee with animal companions and both units perform better and deal more damage after summoning their animal companions. Eddie fights to abolish the prejudice that humanity has against Gyee while Miles fights because he hates humanity and believes that Gyee are superior.
  • Gathering Steam: His passive, Hunting Time is this. Each normal attack Miles fires guarantees the next one will critically strike, and each one increases that critical damage by a base value plus his skill mastery. His first ability summons his wolf, Grey, who passively increases his own damage as well. Miles' secondary resource is concentration, which builds up over time for his Ultimate, capping out at 5. The more concentration he has, the more damage his Ultimate deals.
  • Ho Yay: Normal and intentional for this game, but it mostly occurs with Eddie.
  • In-Universe Nickname: His underlings and Mercy call him "Brother Wolf".
  • Raised by Wolves: He was raised by wolves after being abandoned in the wild as a child.
  • Speaks Fluent Animal: Can talk to Grey and all wolves.

    Nemesio
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/nemesio_default.png
Click here to see Nemesio's non-Shadow appearance
Voiced by: Brandon Hearnsberger
A former high-ranking member of the Oathblades. He was once respected as a military genius and known as the 'God of Conquest'. However, after one particularly disastrous mission he was infected with the Shadows' Dark Flux and exiled from Never Isle. Since then, he wandered alone, hunting the Shadows for revenge.

Nemesio is an Arcana Ranger. His signature ability is to rain arrows to damage all enemies for two consecutive rounds while turning invisible to protect himself. He also has a unique Shadow Fang buff, which increase his damage for up to 7 times, but will lose one stack when getting attacked.

  • The Atoner: He's hunting shadows not only for personal reasons, but also to atone for his failure.
  • Fallen Hero: Once a respected hero in Never Isle, he's now exiled and wandering alone to fight the Shadows.
  • Glory Seeker: His motivation for joining the Oathblades. He was an outlier as a kid, but when he saved his neighbour from a snake, the other kids start to respect him. This caused him to want to be known as a hero.
  • It's Not You, It's Me: He rebukes any form of friendship, citing that his condition makes it too dangerous for anyone to stay near him.
  • Magic Pants: Well, magic tank top. His tank top gets shredded whenever he turns to shadow form, but it somehow reappears when he reverts.
  • My Greatest Failure: That one mission where his failure caused his entire squad to be wiped out and himself to be exiled from Never Isle.
  • Superpowered Evil Side: He's partially corrupted by the Shadows, and when it takes over he's prone to go berserk and attack anyone nearby.

Church of Kaism

    Mercy
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/mercy_default.png
Voiced by: Cristina Valenzuela
"I'm back! And I am better than ever!"
A young nurse who works for the church in Never Isle. She comes from the same orphanage as Kitty and Yaen, acting like a big sister to them. She is noted to have a talent in creating healing potions, although her skill in administering them is another matter entirely.

Mercy is a Support character with Water affinity. Her specialty is continuous healing. Whenever Mercy heals someone, a percentage of the heal value is saved, which then will be released on that person's next turn, healing them again. However, to balance it out, her direct healing is weaker than other healers.

  • All Love Is Unrequited: She is heavily implied to have a crush on Miles, who doesn't reciprocate and instead sees her as a little sister.
  • Cute Clumsy Girl: She is noted to be rather clumsy. Getting an injection from her is the nightmare for many Never Isle residents, because she never gets it right the first time.
  • The Medic: Her skillset is dedicated to healing her allies.
  • Power Incontinence: Played for Laughs in her second skill, where her gun overloads and starts spraying medicine everywhere, which translates to healing the entire party over 2 turns.

Never Isle Defense Force

    Izumi
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/izumi_default.png
Voiced by: Nicolas Roye
"The polar bear cub! Haha."

The captain of Never Isle Defense Force and a good friend of both Eddie and Miles.

Izumi is an Earth-affiliated Warrior. He is notable for his death immunity upon casting his ultimate skill, which prevents his HP from going below a certain threshold for a few rounds. His other skills include reducing the enemy's defense and restoring his own HP. His Mastery skill increases his critical rate with the amount of his Rage.

  • Animal Motifs: Polar bears. His armor is after one, his weapons are a pair of claws, and one of his photos include polar bear cubs.
  • Beware the Nice Ones: Izumi is a cheerful and friendly man, but he can be really scary when he's angry, as Yaen can attest.
  • Chainmail Bikini: Male version. His armor leaves part of his torso, backs, and underwear exposed. Looks even more egregious when his generic Never Isle soldier underlings are all fully armored. Even Rita said his outfit is too skimpy.
  • Heroic Self-Deprecation: He has a complex over not being as smart as Eddie nor as brave as Miles. He also feels guilty over his inability to reconcile the two of them. He also feels inferiro to Mira, who is younger than him but rose through the ranks faster.
  • Kindhearted Simpleton: Compared to his buddies Eddie and Miles, Izumi isn't very bright, but he wished the best for all of them and will stop at nothing to protect them.
  • Shipper on Deck: He knows Eddie has a thing for Miles and is not afraid to tease him over it.
  • Take the Third Option: While Eddie joined Order of Equality and Miles joined the Oathblades, two organizations with opposite philosophies, Izumi chose neither, joining the Never Isle Defense Force instead.
  • Why Won't You Die?: His second skill allows him to cheat death for 2 turns, making him a deceptively durable unit, as well as making him a pain in the ass to face.

    Mira
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/mira_default.png
Voiced by: Faye Mata
"I stand by my sword."

The serious, no-nonsense Commander of Never Isle Defense Force. Ten years ago, she and her younger sister were attacked by the White Capes. While she was rescued by the Oathblades, her younger sister was killed in the attack. Since then, she devoted herself to be stronger.

Mira is a Fire Warrior. Her most distinguishing trait is that after attacking, she has a chance to act again, with no limit to how many times she can move. Thus, she is one of the characters most reliant on the Random Number Generator.

  • Action Girl: Being a female Warrior in the game, she definitely counts.
  • A Day in the Limelight: The "Deep Bond" branch story focuses on her and her past.
  • Aloof Dark-Haired Girl: She has long black hair and is generally a very aloof person.
  • Blade Spam: Mira's skillset revolves around her ability to act again after attacking. With enough luck, she can wipe out the entire enemy force all by herself.
  • Critical Hit Class: Her first skill makes her next 5 basic attacks a critical hit, as well as making her counterattack any enemy that attacks her. Combined with her passive to let her act again, she can dish out devastating damage by herself.
  • Defrosting Ice Queen: She defrosts very slightly once you reach Intimacy 8 with her, but she still keeps her distance.
  • Ice Queen: Aloof, serious, and unfriendly. Her bio states that she likes being alone and dislikes social gatherings.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: Mira is a very cold and unfriendly woman to just about everyone, but she does care for her allies. In one side story, she tried to anonymously leave a medicine for one of her subordinates whom she has punished too harshly.
  • Meaningful Rename: "Mira" is the name of her younger sister. Her real name is Catherine.
  • Only Sane Woman: Played for Laughs in one of the title screens, expressing exasperation with Eddie and Rand's drunken antics.
  • Storm of Blades: Her second skill, Full Attack, rains down swords on all enemies for massive damage. If an enemy dies with this attack, the party is healed.
  • Tragic Keepsake: A butterfly pendant that belonged to her sister.
  • Used to Be a Sweet Kid: She used to be much nicer and gentler when she was younger. However, her little sister was murdered by the White Cape for being a Gyee, causing her to join the Never Isle Defense Force for revenge.
  • Workaholic: She's obsessed with making herself stronger, often training late into the night. Many people have expressed concern for her obsessiveness.

Unaffiliated

    Turing
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/turing_default.png
Voiced by: Kyle McCarley
"Machines are more reliable than magic."

One of the first people you meet in Luxium along with Billy. Turing is a genius inventor, designing many gadgets that attract the attention of various organizations. Turing used to be a student of Arcana Academy, and he was Vundo's favorite student. However, he prefers machines and technology more than magic, so he dropped out of the Academy. His workshop was located in Red Harbour, but after the events of the early chapters of the story, he moved back to Never Isle, giving his airship to you and Billy.

Turing is a Metal Warrior. Despite being a Warrior, however, Turing uses Mana system and all of his attacks are ranged. His specialty is buffing himself with his ultimate skill, heavily strengthening all of his other attacks and letting him Stun enemies with his basic attack.

  • Charged Attack: He can use his second skill to charge up his next basic attack to deal extra damage and stun the enemy on the same turn.
  • Distressed Dude: In chapter 3, he is kidnapped by some people who want to force him to work for them, and rescuing him is the focus of the chapter.
  • Gadgeteer Genius: Turing is an inventor who has invented many gadgets that attract the attentions of many people.
  • Intelligence Equals Isolation: Turing is rather awkward and unfriendly with people. He has gone through many assistants. Billy is his twenty-third assistant, and the only one friendly enough to withstand Turing's eccentricities.
  • Named After Somebody Famous: Named after Alan Turing, the "father of computer science", who was also a homosexual.
  • Shorter Means Smarter: While Turing isn't actually that short, he is short compared to the other male characters, and is an accomplished and talented inventor.
  • Smart People Build Robots: In his trifle story, he's trying to build a robot that can play chess. In another story, some of the robots he built has malfunctioned and gone sentient.
  • Student/Teacher Romance: Heavily implied between him and Vundo, given how Vundo often expresses concern for his well-being, and Turing always blushes whenever he talks about Vundo.

"Live by the sword."
A swordsman who opens a dojo in Never Isle.
  • Iaijutsu Practitioner: He never shows his sword when slashing his enemy. The only time he takes it out of the sheath for longer than a second is during his ultimate attack.
  • Master Swordsman: He is known as the greatest swordsman in Never Isle.
  • Sword Beam: His ultimate attack, One Flash, where he gathers flux on his sword and swings it to strike enemies from afar.

"It takes someone sturdy to work the anvil."
A blacksmith in Never Isle.

    Rupor
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/wallpaper_rupolrupor.jpg
Left:Rupol form, Right:Rupor form
Voiced by: Brandon Hearnsberger
"Places, lights, curtain. Mmm, it's showtime!"

A superstar in Luxium, and the host of the famous Rupor Show. The truth is, the "Rupor" now is Rupol, the younger twin brother of the real Rupor. The sister Rupor would host the show while Rupol would design the clothes for her. Unfortunately, Rupor died a while ago. Unwilling to let his sister's legacy be gone, Rupol took on the mantle and continued the show.

Rupor is a Metal Tank. He is capable of switching between two forms in battle. In Rupor form, he is capable of disabling an enemy's action by, while in Rupol form, he inflicts Damage-Increasing Debuff that gets stronger the more he attacks. His Mastery skill lets him heal himself and take reduced damage whenever he changes forms.

  • Damage-Increasing Debuff: He can inflict the "Uncomfortable" status in male form, which causes the enemy to take 3% more damage from physical attacks. The effect is small, but it can stack up to five times and lasts until the battle ends or the enemy dies.
  • Drag Queen: A man who wears flamboyant female clothing to perform on the stage. His passive ability is outright called "Drag Queen".
  • Improbable Weapon User: Uses a microphone in his female form, justified as he's a Musical Assassin in that form. Less justified, however, is him using a measuring tape as a weapon in male form. Somehow, measuring the enemy's sizes and making new clothes can inflict damage.
  • Legacy Character: The real Rupor was actually a woman and was Rupol's older sister. When she died, Rupol took it upon himself to take on her appearance and handle her show to honor her memory.
  • Multiform Balance: He's a Tank in both forms, but each form has different usage. His female form is focused on halting the enemy's movements, while his male form is focused on inflicting Damage-Increasing Debuff.
  • Musical Assassin: In his female form, he can sing to entice the target with his song, disabling their movement for two rounds.
  • No Celebrities Were Harmed: Very obviously based on Ru Paul. The "Rupor Show" itself is a homage of Ru Paul's Drag Race!
  • Screw the Rules, I Have Connections!: His bio notes that he's very open to admitting his status as a Gyee without fear, as his loyal fans would mercilessly tear into the White Cape if they tried anything against him.

    Queerix
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/queerix_default.png
Voiced by: Vernon Drew
"Aaahhh-uh. Oww, hey, that hurts."

A young carrot farmer who lives in the small town of Elly with his overprotective grandmother. He used to live with another man who helped him make his carrot cannon, but his whereabouts is now unknown. You meet Queerix and his grandma in a mission where you have to find and protect him from the White Capes. At the end of the story, Queerix and his grandma moves to Never Isle.

Queerix is a Ranger affiliated with Wood flux. His signature skill is his Break Time ability, where he sits on top of his cannon, becoming invulnerable to melee attacks. Once he stands down, he gains various buffs, like the ability to deal Damage Over Time with his basic attacks and the ability to dode incoming attacks at a fairly high rate.

  • Animal Motifs: Rabbits. There's his association with carrots, but also he used to be called a rabbit by the man who used to live with him, and the icon for his Mastery skill is a rabbit.
  • Badass Adorable: A young man who just wants to do right by his grandma who also happens to be a superhuman. Kitty even admits that Queerix is cuter than he is.
  • BFG: A bit less threatening than usual examples, but his carrot cannon is slightly taller than he is.
  • Bleed 'Em and Weep: He killed a White Cape soldier while trying to protect his grandma from them, which caused him a bit of a shock. You assured him that there was no other choice and he did the right thing.
  • Coming of Age Story: His brief appearance in the main scenario is this. He accepts that he's a Gyee after fighting alongside the protagonist to defend himself and his grandmother. His story ends with the two of them moving to Never Isle.
  • Country Mouse: Moves to Never Isle with his grandma at the end of his story after living his life on a quiet farm.
  • Crouching Moron, Hidden Badass: He's the third-youngest recruitable Gyee, and has very low self-confidence. His art depicts him falling over and he's shy most of the time, but if you push him, he's just as dependable in combat as any other Gyee.
  • Edible Ammunition: His cannon fires carrots at enemies.
  • Farm Boy: A young farmer who would rather just live in peace in the countryside together with his grandmother. Unfortunately, he's a Gyee and the White Capes came to capture him.
  • Improbable Weapon User: Uses a cannon that fires carrots.
  • Mama's Boy: Grandma's Boy, technically. The only thing that pressures him to fight is her safety and freedom.
  • My Beloved Smother: His grandmother loves him, but she's been a tad bit too overprotective because he's a Gyee. This caused Queerix to have little social skills and become an awkward boy.
  • Nice Guy: A young farm boy who only fights when his grandma is in danger. He happens to be a Gyee and does nothing violent unless pressed to.

  • Official Couple: He and Su are explicitly described as lovers.

"Giving up means nothing, and I've never lost!"
Grancy's older twin brother and son of the current Roderick, head of the Shadowhunters. He and Grancy are competing to become the next Roderick.

Sven is categorized as a Fire Warrior. His gimmick is that attacking with his basic or advanced skill gives him stacks of Fire Spirit buff. Depending on the number of Fire Spirits he has, his ultimate skill will either be a single target attack or an area of effect attack. Additionally, when his HP reaches a certain threshold, he will gain increased stats for a few turns.

  • Aw, Look! They Really Do Love Each Other: Despite bickering often, the twins do care for each other. In his trifle, Sven admits that Grancy's wits and cool head make him a better leader. When Sven falls in battle, his quote is begging the enemy to leave Grancy alone.
    Sven: "Don't...touch...my brother."
  • Clingy Jealous Girl: One of the Gyees that who are explicitly attracted to you romantically. In his trifle story he's jealous of the Avatar and Grancy's closeness.
  • Critical Status Buff: Initially, his HP can't reach below a certain threshold. When it does reach the threshold, he gains significantly increased stats for a few rounds, but now he's vulnerable to dying.
  • Equippable Ally: He has a fire dragon called Kolkaz as a partner, which can transform into his halberd.
  • Full Health Bonus: His Fire Spirit's Blessing skill gives him more power the more HP he has.
  • Identical Twin Mistake: In their introductory story, the Avatar meets Grancy first. When he meets Sven later, he's wondering how "Grancy" has changed so much from their previous meeting. Sven notices this and pretends to be Grancy for the heck of it.
  • I Want My Beloved to Be Happy: In his trifle story, he's under the impression that you're pursuing Grancy. Despite admitting he's broken-hearted, he's willing to help you and Grancy get together.
  • Lovable Sex Maniac: Sven is very flirty and it's said he often sleeps around. That said, he's also brave and passionate, and his men all trust him as a leader.
  • Personality Powers: The hot-headed and passionate Sven utilizes fire powers.
  • Polar Opposite Twins: Sven is extroverted, friendly, passionate, and uses fire powers, while Grancy is quiet, scheming, and uses ice powers.
  • Sibling Rivalry: Their opposing personalities cause Sven and Grancy to bicker a lot.
  • Straight Gay: He outright states he's gay, unlike most characters who are just heavily implied to be. He also mentioned he has to reject several girls before.

"Those who don't know how to give up can't win."
Sven's younger twin brother and son of the current head of the Shadowhunters. He and Sven are competing to in the election for the next Roderick.

Grancy is categorized as a Water Mage. His gimmick is that his attacks are strengthened when attacking targets inflicted with the Freeze status. Additionally, when his HP reaches a certain threshold, he will move first in the next round and his attacks are greatly strengthened for that round.

  • Aw, Look! They Really Do Love Each Other: Despite bickering a lot, the twins do care for each other. Grancy is a bit envious of his brother's extrovert personality, which lets him make more friends. When Grancy falls in battle, he calls out his brother's name.
  • Deadpan Snarker: He's described as having a wicked tongue, and will often make quips on Sven's antic.
Grancy: What's it like to have a crazy brother? I know (sighes).
  • Desperation Attack: Initially, his HP can't drop below a certain threshold. When his HP reaches it, he recovers all his Mana and the next attack he performs will be greatly strengthened, but now he's vulnerable to dying.
  • Don't You Dare Pity Me!: Since they're little, Sven has always been better at everything they compete in, but he often loses on purpose to not overshadow Grancy. Grancy realizes this and hates it, as he wants to defeat Sven when he's not holding back.
  • Elemental Armor: His Ice Spirit's Blessing skill gives him a shield made of ice, which gives him armor, increases his damage, and freezes enemies who attack him with melee attacks.
  • Equippable Ally: He has an ice dragon called Radon as a partner, which can transform into his trident.
  • Personality Powers: The cool and aloof Grancy uses ice powers.
  • Polar Opposite Twins: Grancy is a cool-headed stoic, the complete opposite of his hot-headed brother. Grancy is a Water Mage who strikes from afar, while Sven is a Fire Warrior who gets up close to enemies.
  • The Stoic: He doesn't show many expressions on his face other than his usual deadpan one.

  • Badass Adorable: He's an adorable 14-year old boy who's quite the competent swordfighter.
  • Token Good Teammate: He's a member of the White Cape, but as his introduction chapter shows, he's not a bad person at all.

"Ka protects all."

  • All-Loving Hero: He's a very kindhearted person who's willing to help anyone and everyone. The only reason he's in the White Cape is that the church assigned him as a medic.
  • Improbable Weapon User: His weapon is a magical feather. While he can throw it for tiny damage, it's mainly used to cast healing spells.
  • Long-Haired Pretty Boy: His long flowing hair and slender body made him stand out in cast of mostly muscular men. His demeanor is also very gentle.
  • The Medic: One of the most straightforward healers in the game. His advanced skill is a single-target heal and his ultimate skill is a party-wide heal. Even his gimmick of turning into an angel upon death only lets him heal more.
  • Power Floats: When in angel mode, Osmond floats.
  • Token Good Teammate: Despite being a White Cape, he is overall a very heroic and caring individual.

"I'll deliver the will of God!"

  • Expy: He was originally a character from a series of adult works by his designer Itto. While he's a god sent by Zeus to Earth in those works, in Gyee he's a dragon in human form who was sent as a messenger for the other dragons.
  • Playing with Fire: Priapus wields fire element magic in battle to devastating effect.
  • Squishy Wizard: Subverted. His Holy Messenger passive essentially saves his full HP and MP at the start of battle, and using his second skill sets his HP and MP to that saved value, letting him be surprisingly durable.
