"One of these days, I'll be the number one singer in the world!"

Food Type: Desserts
Birthplace: Europe
Birth Year: 13th-14th Century
Personality: Cheerful
Height: 112 cm
Type: Defense
Character Voice: Ai Nonaka (Japanese)

  • Badass Adorable: Although childish and cutesy, she's nevertheless a Food Soul that can fight against Fallen Angels. Ironically, her character story has her become more of a Badass Pacifist by making the Fallen Angel she is supposed to fight leave peacefully instead.
  • Brown Note: Her singing is a Downplayed example of this.
  • Cheerful Child: She's very energetic and friendly.
  • Cute, but Cacophonic: Apple Pie has a shrill high-pitched voice, especially when singing.
  • Dreadful Musician: She is a good musician but her singing is so terrible that people run for the hills whenever she plays. She's oblivious to this and thinks her voice sounds beautiful.
  • Giftedly Bad: She actually thinks she's good at singing, despite the obvious pain her music puts people in whenever she opens her mouth.
"Do you want to hear me sing? No problem, I'm already all warmed up... aww, where'd they go?"
  • Musical Assassin: Uses her guitar as a weapon.
  • The Noseless: Drawn this way.
  • Odd Friendship: Her story has her make friends with Aizen, a Fallen Angel she was supposed to eliminate. She even sings to Aizen, though he remarks that it's "fun" rather than "pleasant" to listen to, much to Apple Pie's chagrin.
  • Puni Plush: Has the roundest, least detailed face out of anyone in the game.
  • Suckiness Is Painful: She plays her guitar mostly to inflict damage. Let that indicate her musical talent.
  • Token Mini-Moe: Is currently the shortest character in the game.
  • Trademark Favorite Food: Apple Sangria.

    B- 52

B-52

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/b_52_body.jpg
"I'm easy to touch, but you WILL get burned."

Food Type: Beverages
Birthplace: United States
Birth Year: Modern
Personality: Cold
Height: 175 cm/5'9"
Type: Magic
Character Voice: Edward Bosco (English), Kensho Ono (Japanese)

  • Bad Liar: According to everyone, he's too earnest to say a lie.
  • Badass Biker: In his Mechanical Storm skin.
  • The Comically Serious: When Huangshan Maofeng Tea tells him to meow like a cat to ward off evil spirits, he does so with a straight face.
  • Death from Above: One of his skills has him swoop up and hose down enemies with fire. Fitting since there's also an aircraft known as the B-52 Bomber.
  • Desperately Looking for a Purpose in Life: He believed himself to be a machine that can only follow orders due to how his previous Master Attendant treated him as a weapon. After he died and was tasked by Spaghetti to kill others, B-52 begins to grow curious of the various emotions his victims make, to the point that he wished to be a "real boy".
  • Extreme Doormat: He has no real evil intent of his own, but he's very passive and willing to do any order his Master Attendants give him. To the point his previous Master treated him like a machine (which ended up convincing B-52 that he was a robot himself) and Spaghetti took advantage of him in order to use him as a weapon. Part of his character development is for him to understand emotions by starting to question Spaghetti's actions and befriending Brownie, Vodka and the playable Master Attendant.
  • Eyepatch of Power
  • Face Death with Dignity: In the doomed New World timeline, he sacrifices his life to bring the Master Attendant to safety before Rice resets the world.
    • Averted. It's later revealed that was the B-52 of a doomed timeline, the B-52 SP.
  • Hitman with a Heart: He really is a nice guy, but pretty brutal.
  • Kill It with Fire: He has fire attacks. Justified, as the real B-52 is a cocktail that's prepped by layering three different alcohols over each other and then lighting the top on fire.
  • Mellow Fellow: B-52's mood never varies from a low-level polite friendliness. No anger, no joy, no sadness, no stress.
  • No Sense of Humor: B-52 cannot tell when someone is making fun of him or telling a joke.
  • The Stoic: B-52 never shows any emotions outwardly, sporting a perpetual frown.
  • Tin Man: Sort of. Due to his inability to make his own decisions and express emotions. His Master Attendant treated him as if he were a robot. This later came into play when Spaghetti uses this to his advantage and basically made him his mindless weapon before he started questioning himself if he was doing the right thing.
  • Trademark Favorite Food: Grilled Calamari.
  • What Is This Feeling?: Had this reaction as he slowly started learning how to be human again.
  • Winged Humanoid: Has robotic demon wings, though later events reveal they're detachable.

Type: Strength
Character Voice: Ray Chase (English), Takuya Eguchi (Japanese)

  • Anti-Hero / Anti-Villain: Alternates between these two in the main story, events, and backstories.
  • Butt-Monkey: If he and even one of the Tofu Twins appear in the same scene, there is a pretty good chance that something bad will happen to him. Thus he is this by default in their backstories.
  • Cool Big Bro: Green Curry and Salt 'n Pepper Shrimp consider him to be this. Also wants to become this towards the Tofu brothers, but they prefer to mess with him instead.
  • I Owe You My Life: Salt 'n Pepper Shrimp is very loyal towards him, after he saved him from the scientists that abused and experimented on him.
  • Hey, You!: Rarely ever calls the Master Attendant by his/her title.
  • Hot-Blooded: He's very volatile and agressive. There's also the Running Gag of his body becoming hot all the time.
  • Humans Are Bastards: He despises humans, as they experimented on him, kept him isolated and forced him to fight and kill his fellow Food Souls. However, it's not as bad as in Salt 'n Pepper Shrimp's case and he's friendly to those who treat Food Souls with respect (such as the Master Attendant and a man he befriended in his backstory).
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: He's hotheaded and rude, but cares about the fate of Food Souls and acts as a supportive older brother towards them and wants the Tofu Twins to get along. Also, while he still takes every opportunity to belittle and torment the Master Attendant, he acknowledges he/she's different from the humans he hates so much.
  • Mr. Fanservice: Natch, considering he's attractive. Also he takes his clothes off when his temperature rises.
  • No Good Deed Goes Unpunished: Tries to help the Tofu brothers to resolve their differences. Salty Tofu kicks him for his trouble.
  • Lost Food Grievance: In the "Candlelight Feast" event, he kills a Fallen Angel, not because was attacking humans, but because it knocked over his wine.

  • Trademark Favorite Food: Beef Tartare.

  • Does Not Know His Own Strength: If the Master Attendant marries her, it's revealed she accidentally broke his/her ribs with a bear hug.

  • I Just Want to Be Special: The reason she decides to go against her previous Master Attendant's wish to let her live a normal life. Candy Cane started questioning herself upon seeing the Food Souls sent by the Holy See fight Fallen Angels, and this made her feel guilty she wasn't contributing anything. In the present, she even feels uneasy if the playable Master Attendant leaves her idle.

  • Follow Your Heart: Plays such music that somehow attracts Sweet & Sour Fish, a mermaid food soul, who fell in love with her not long after.
  • Goal in Life: Surprisingly has one for all her standoffishness; her original life goal was to meet a mermaid, just to play her flute while the mermaid sings along. She does find one in the end of her backstory: Sweet & Sour Fish.

  • Trademark Favorite Food: Red Bean Pudding.

  • Ship Tease: With Sweet & Sour Fish.
  • Walking the Earth: Wanders across Tierra to find a mermaid, because that's what her previous Master Attendant wanted when he was alive. She does find one in Sweet & Sour Fish in her backstory.

Food Type: Tonic
Birthplace: China

Personality: Temperamental
Height: 185 cm
Type: Support
Character Voice: Shinnosuke Tachibana (Japanese)

  • The Bad Guy Wins: At the end of Blossoming Spring, he gets away with converting an entire village's population and Realgar Wine into his mindless puppets.
  • Body Horror: Like his sister, his body is slowly turning into wood. He doesn't let it affect him too much, unlike his sister, but if the Master Attendant marries him, it's revealed he's quite conflicted about it, he's just better at hiding it.
  • Can't Kill You, Still Need You: He doesn't like humans and thinks they're better off dead, but makes an exception for the Master Attendant because Chisui Moth Tea likes him/her and knows how to cook.
  • Cool Big Bro: To Chisui Moth Tea, though she doesn't particularly agree and finds him clingy.
  • Dark and Troubled Past: He and Moth Tea used to live in the mountains aiding a neighboring village, until one day the villagers sold them out and they were taken away by an organization that did brutal experiments on them. They managed to escape, but the damage had been done and their bodies slowly started mutating into wood.
  • Faux Affably Evil: In Blossoming Spring. He pretends to be a compassionate doctor, while in reality, he doesn't give a shit about anyone but himself and Moth Tea, manipulating everyone in order to get the Flora Tree.
  • Humans Are Bastards: Hates humans for what they did to him and Moth Tea in their backstory. He does mellow out to the Master Attendant if he/she marries him....but is still considering to infest him/her with his insects someday.
"Sometimes, I really wish you’d touch these little red guys... so that you’ll never betray me..."
  • Jerkass: He cares for his sister and Century Egg and the Master Attendant in a lesser degree, but is dismissive of everyone else at best and quite an asshole at worst.
    • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: As Moth Tea notices, despite trying to act like a bad guy, he secretly cares about others. He genuinely likes Century Egg and mellows to the Master Attendant if he marries him/her (when he's not considering infecting him/her, thar is). Also it's implied his true motives to infest the villagers in Blossoming Spring were so he could save them from an upcoming miasma. Of course he's completely convinced he has to be ruthless so he and his sister could survive in the world, so he refuses to admit it.
  • Mad Scientist: While he looks like an affable doctor, he actually uses parasites to infest and control humans.
  • The Medic: He originally had healing powers. However due to the experiments tampering with his spirit, he gained the power to control parasites.
  • Not Blood Siblings: ...in as much as this trope can apply to Food Souls. Cordyceps and Moth Tea are not really connected beyond gaining awareness at the same time, but they decided to be siblings anyway.
  • Lack of Empathy: Towards anyone that isn't Chisui Moth Tea.
  • Orgasmically Delicious: Just hear at the sounds he makes if the Master Attendant feeds him. Mostly has to do with him losing his sense of taste, though.
  • Puppeteer Parasite: Cordyceps has parasyte bugs that have the power to control living beings, from humans to Fallen Angels.
  • Smug Smiler: His default expression.
  • Spider Limbs: Has wooden spider limbs that sprout from his back. His animations show that he uses them for extra support too.
  • Trademark Favorite Food: Spinach Noodles.
  • True Companions: With Chisui Moth Tea and Century Egg.
  • Used to Be a Sweet Kid: Started out as a kind-hearted and idealistic Food Soul, but through enough torment, betrayal and experiments he became bitter and cynical and obsessed with protecting his sister.

Twin brothers that fight as a duo. Vanilla is the older, louder twin to the calmer and quieter Strawberry.

  • An Ice Person: They have powers over ice. In their backstory Strawberry was able to freeze Moon Cake's Master Attendant into a Human Popsicle.
  • Badass Adorable: Both of them.
  • Big Brother Instinct: Vanilla is very protective towards Strawberry, even if the latter finds him too annoying sometimes.
Vanilla: I will not allow you to hurt Strawberry!
  • Cheerful Child: Vanilla.
  • The Dividual: They're treated as one Food Soul. Strawberry lampshades it if the Master Attendant marries them, wondering if he/she loves one more than the other.
Strawberry: "But... Master Attendant, who is it that you truly like? Is it Big Brother, or is it me?"
  • Foolish Sibling, Responsible Sibling: Vanilla is loud and enthusiastic, but is also rather impulsive. Strawberry is the reserved brother that tries to keep his brother grounded.
  • Hidden Depths: They're very nice and friendly, but their backstory reveals they don't like humans very much. However, they aren't heartless and will help humans in trouble, such as Moon Cake's Master Attendant in the past.
  • If It's You, It's Okay: Even if they don't like humans very much and will prefer to be by themselves, if the Master Attendant marries them, they're happy to make him/her part of the family.
  • Grievous Harm with a Body: Vanilla throws Strawberry at the enemy to attack.
  • Sibling Team: They fight as a pair, all of their moves being combination attacks.
  • Sibling Yin-Yang: Between the two, Vanilla does most of the talking, while Strawberry keeps his older brother in check.

THEN she realizes that her contract was suddenly severed and rushes home, only to find the father dead and the daughter committing suicide right before her eyes.
  • Despair Event Horizon: Went through this when the girl she did her best to protect committed suicide right before her eyes.
  • Exotic Eye Designs: If you look closely, you'll notice that her pupils are crosses, and the irises have odd markings inside the rims.
  • Happy Holidays Dress: Fitting, being a sweet heavily associated with Christmas.
  • Only Sane Man: Seems to be this in her squad as Red Wine and Steak are constantly bickering.
  • Undying Loyalty: Averted. She states that she won't hesitate to kill the Master Attendant if he/she turns into a bad person. Justified, after what happened with her previous master (see Dark and Troubled Past above).
"Although we are companions now, one day we may become enemies. You don't want to let me down."
  • Tomboyish Ponytail: She wears her hair in an unkempt high ponytail and she's a rough Action Girl.

  • Horrible Judge of Character: He falls for Whiskey's charm very quickly and considers him a sweet person even as Whiskey uses him as a guinea pig for his experiments.
  • I Can't Believe a Guy Like You Would Notice Me: Says this word for word if the Master Attendant marries him.
Such an ugly, dirty person like me... You said to me once that I just need to be myself. So does that mean it's okay... for me to love you so much that I want to kill you? ...Ah~ Attendant, you're not even a little scared! Not like other people... But I'm scared though... scared I'll want to be with you too much... scared that I'll kill you... So, can you make a promise with me? Can you absolutely guarantee that you won't die before me...?
  • Innocently Insensitive: Tends to say things that offend people. Such as nonchalantly telling the Master Attendant that he might kill them someday. It may be justified since he's too naive and doesn't know how to speak tactfully.
  • Nice Guy: Deconstructed. While Haggis is pure and innocent like a child, he's always getting tricked and frequently underestimates just how evil some people can be.
  • Took a Level in Cheerfulness: Was gloomy and melancholic until he was saved by Whiskey.
