Universe Zero
Due to the nature of this page, all spoilers will be unmarked. You Have Been Warned
Universe Zero (also spelled "Universe 0") is the convergence point of The Multiverse, accessible only to those with the power to travel through time and jump between different Universes of their own volition. Described as a world of endless possibility, it is believed by those who know of it to be the one and only world to prevent Mother's inevitable death, which would spell the immediate end of all human life in the cosmos, and the gradual decay of all mechanical life. To carry out this purpose, the Edens Zero itself was partially christened with this world in mind as its ultimate destination, therefore making Universe Zero the final setting for the crew's journey and the series as a whole.
Note: Folders marked with an asterisk (*) are for characters with memories of the previous world, and thus act as extensions and continuations of those characters.
Crew of Edens Zero
In Universe Zero, the crew is assembled after its members acquire their memories of the previous world through the power of Etherion.
Witch Regret
The Witch of Universe Zero, back when she was still alive and well. She doesn't remember the old world since she wasn't with the crew when they activated Etherion.
- Attack Reflector: Her Radical Field creates dozens of Ether shields that deflect Beam Spam attacks back at her opponent.
- Casting a Shadow: She uses Dark Ether as one of her Elemental Powers, which is described as a "gloom" element.
- Dead Alternate Counterpart: Inverted. Witch in Universe 1 was at least deactivated by Drakken Joe's team, while she was killed in Universes 2 and 3 in Nero 66's explosion (the latter via a Heroic Sacrifice). Since the crew traveled back in time to a point before any of these events happen, this version of Witch is still alive and well.
- Have We Met Yet?: A Running Gag involves Witch getting hugged and cried over by her crewmates from the old world, even though she hadn't met them yet in this world. By the time they finish the crew, she's learned to roll with it.
- Super Mode: Witch has her own Overdrive form in this world, which she uses to fight Wizard.
Valkyrie Yuna
The Valkyrie of Universe Zero. She was believed to have been executed over an accident Homura caused on Oedo five years ago, but actually survived and wound up on Sun Jewel as one of the Punishers. Once she reunites with her student, she gladly takes up her old mantle as the Sword of Edens.
- Barbarian Longhair: Valkyrie's Overdrive turns her hair into a wild and messy mane.
- Dead Alternate Counterpart: Inverted. Universe Zero's Valkyrie is the one and only version of her in the Multiverse to avoid dying.
- Dual Wielding: She wields twin Ether swords just as Homura does, notably during her Big Damn Heroes moment.
- Losing Your Head: In this Universe, she was sentenced to death via beheading on Oedo to spare Homura the same fate. Homura and the rest of Oedo believed her to be dead, but being that she is an android, she simply had her head reattached courtesy of Seiji.
- One-Woman Army: She gets to show her chops as the crew's strongest fighter when she takes on Shura's hijacked space fleet by herself, wiping out dozens of ships in her Overdrive form while the rest of the crew uses starfighters to do the same amount of damage.
- Reports of My Death Were Greatly Exaggerated: In an inverse of previous worlds, where she turned out to be Dead All Along, this version of Valkyrie never died to begin with, having been decapitated before getting her head reattached by Seiji several weeks later. Unfortunately, Homura had already figured the worst and left the planet to parts unknown by then, and instead of going on a wild chase after her, Valkryie took Xiaomei's advice to head to Sun Jewel and wait for Homura's arrival to clear things up.
- So Proud of You: Valkyrie beams with pride for Homura every time she witnesses how much she's improved as a warrior, ultimately declaring her student has surpassed her.
- Strange Minds Think Alike: It's revealed that Homura's odd habit of challenging others to a fight in the bath comes straight from Valkyrie, who challenges her to a spur-of-the-moment sparring session with Homura in the Spa of Eden.
Crew of Edens One
Over Nu Etherion Void
Demon King's Four Dark Stars
- Took a Level in Badass: It's stated that the Four Dark Stars of Universe Zero are far stronger than they were in past worlds.
Wizard
The Wizard of Universe Zero.
Killer
The Killer of Universe Zero.
- Back from the Dead: His death in the Lendard arc is undone by the Cosmic Retcon.
- The Chessmaster: He shows himself to be a cunning strategist by installing a self-destruct protocol onto the Edens Zero, knowing Hermit would try to override the ship's systems to shut it down, leaving the Zero dead in the water for Killer to ram them with the One from Cyberspace. It nearly works, too, except Killer gets Out-Gambitted by Weisz, who built his own functional Dive terminal to take Killer down just for the occasion.
- Spontaneous Weapon Creation: His Weapon Generator Script functions as such in Cyberspace, allowing him to whip up a Storm of Blades.
- Too Clever by Half: He's The Chessmaster just as he was in the previous world, carrying out a Xanatos Gambit that gets the Edens Zero crew to shut down their own ship. However, he's so focused on his plan that he doesn't foresee Weisz building his own Dive pod free of the Zero's then-deactivated systems to infiltrate the Edens One's computer, or Laguna sticking around on the One after his fight with Lightning Law, ending with Killer on the receiving end of a Curb-Stomp Battle on two fronts.
Brigandine
The Brigandine of Universe Zero.
- Bishōnen Line: Brigandine's past models were purely mechanized suits of armor, but in this world, he has a fully humanoid head just like his human model.
Oración Seis Galáctica
- Killer Robot: All of them are androids this time due to Void being the one to choose them.
- Planet Destroyer: As before, each one of them is strong enough to threaten whole planets with destruction. Xenolith proves it by crushing the planet Foresta to nothing with his Gravity Arts.
- Sorting Algorithm of Evil: This iteration of the Galáctica is stated to be on a greater level than any of its members in the previous world, with its familiar members becoming more powerful to keep up.
Müller / Fake Xenolith
The Müller of Universe Zero, where he is head researcher of the Aoi Cosmos's Imperial Science Department. As one of Void's devoted followers, Müller robbed Xenolith of his power in order to create—and soon fuse himself with—an android duplicate of the King of Gravity for the Oración Seis Galáctica.
- Arc Villain: Serves this role in the Reunion arc during the crew's revisit to the Aoi Cosmos. While he's also a minion of the Big Bad here, Müller acts of his own accord to take control of Shura's Empire.
- Arrogant Kung-Fu Guy: He thinks he's become a Genius Bruiser once he steals Xenolith's gravity powers without learning the proper Magimech techniques, convinced that his raw, planet-destroying power makes him enough of a threat. It doesn't.
- Bald of Evil: He completely loses his hair when he fuses with the fake Xenolith, and is even more evil and deranged than he was in the previous universe.
- Beyond Redemption: He's one of the few villains in Universe Zero who aren't changed for the better by the Cosmic Retcon, remaining a vile bastard to the very end.
- Big Bad Wannabe: He aims to become a Multiversal Conqueror on the same level as Void, the Big Bad, which he thinks he can accomplish by stealing Xenolith's gravity power and Rebecca's time power. Not only does he fail to realize that Universe Zero is a Merged Reality where travel between other Universes is impossible, but he proves to be pathetically unskilled as a Gravity Master compared to Shiki and Shura, who beat him silly in no time at all.
- Evil Is Bigger: His chemical fusion with his fake Xenolith caused his body to turn into an android that is far greater in size and strength compared to the original O-Tech body he created in the previous universe, making him a much more dangerous threat.
- Evil Makes You Monstrous: His and the fake Xenolith's fused form looks like a more hideous version of his already inhuman O-Tech body from Universe 2.
- Faux Affably Evil: He talks in a joyful, cheerful manner as he explains his Loony Fan tendencies of Void to Xenolith. As he sings praises of Void, Müller casually reveals Void's plan to conquer the universe and the greatness of his powers.
- Fusion Dance: Müller chemically bonds himself with his fake Xenolith's android body so that he may himself use the gravity powers he stole from the real Xenolith.
- Gravity Master: He becomes one after stealing Xenolith's Satan Gravity, which is strong enough to crunch all of planet Foresta down to nothing.
- How Do I Shot Web?: His fusion with the fake Xenolith in Universe Zero gives Müller access to Xenolith's gravity power, but it doesn't give him Xenolith's knowledge of the Gravity Martial Arts, which were invented to apply this power to combat. When faced with gravity experts like Shiki and Shura, he's beaten without getting to put up a fight.
- Laughably Evil: While still a thoroughly evil villain who destroyed Foresta and nearly chops off Rebecca's legs, Müller's madness and instability are more Played for Laughs now than they were before.
- Loony Fan: Müller serves as one for Void. Just knowing that Void wants to assemble a team of 10 powerful androids is enough to tickle Müller's love of 0s and 1s, and he all too eagerly builds and fuses himself with an android of the Oración Seis Galáctica to help usher in Void's age of conquest.
- Manipulative Bastard: He infects Foresta's robot population with a virus to root out their strongest specimen, Xenolith, whose powers and identity he steals before crushing the planet to frame him for the act. Then, when Xenolith Body Surfs into Miimi to escape, Müller traces him to Oasis's hideout and sets Shura against the rebels with a report that they're sheltering a public enemy, something Oasis isn't even aware of.
- Power Parasite: He steals Xenolith's gravity powers for himself, giving him the ability to crush a planet if he so chooses. When he fights Shiki and Shura, however, he's met with a rude awakening that stealing power doesn't mean he knows how to use it effectively.
- Sanity Slippage: The Cosmic Retcon makes the already off-his-rocker Mad Scientist more insane than ever before, following Void more as a Loony Fan rather than doing it For Science! as he did with Ziggy.
- Scatterbrained Senior: His Sanity Slippage in Universe Zero has taken such a toll that his memory is almost completely shot, demonstrated when he goes looking for a missing coffee mug and thinking it was lost in a spacetime distortion, despite holding said mug in his hand the entire time.
- Slasher Smile: He frequently grins maliciously over his experiments, which involve genocide, identity theft, the use of weapons of mass destruction, kidnapping, and attempted dismemberment.
- Terrified of Germs: He refuses to touch Rebecca's legs with his own bare hands because her feet are filled with disgusting bacteria, so he tries cutting her legs off and imagining them as machine parts to make himself feel more comfortable touching them.
- Took a Level in Badass: Zig-Zagged. He becomes one of the Oración Seis Galáctica when he imbues himself with Xenolith's gravity power, but still lacks the proper technique to use this power in combat, and is beaten by the more experienced Shiki and Shura within moments.
- Torture Technician: Exaggerated. Müller acts as Rebecca's torturer in his plans to experiment on her Time Ether, revving up a chainsaw to saw off her legs and extract the energy, and planning to make what's left of her into his personal punching bag once he's through.
- Transhuman Treachery: Müller gives up his humanity and sells out the Empire he served for the opportunity to join Void's inner circle.
- Treacherous Advisor: This world's version of Müller is the head of the Aoi Cosmos's Imperial Science Department who manipulates his Emperor, the Benevolent Dictator Shura, while plotting behind his back.
- Uncertain Doom: His ultimate fate is to be reduced to a head again just like he was before the Cosmic Retcon, leaving it unclear whether or not he survives.
- Unskilled, but Strong: While Müller's raw power skyrockets when he fuses himself with an android with Xenolith's stolen Gravity Ether, but it gives him zero knowledge of how to apply it in a fight beyond generating a gravity field with the potential to destroy small planets like Foresta. Shiki and Shura, who have years of experience in learning Gravity Martial Arts, easily No-Sell his gravity field and make quick work of him.
- Unusual Ears: Before fusing with the fake Xenolith, Müller had fans on both sides of his head in place of ears, similar to the ones he had as an O-Tech in the previous world.
- Voice Changeling: He has a voice changer that lets him perfectly imitate Shiki's voice and fool Rebecca into walking into a trap, despite doing a terrible job masking his elderly speech paterns.
- Walking Spoiler: Everything about the Galáctica's Xenolith hinges on The Reveal that it's actually an Evil Knockoff of the real Xenolith that Müller builds and combines himself with.
Deadend Cure
In Universe Zero, Cure has taken Deadend Crow's place in the Galáctica after his planned attack on Planet Swan was thwarted by the Interstellar Union Army ten years ago, leading Cure to abandon all presumptions of goodness.
- Achilles' Heel: Just like Deadend Crow, Cure is powered by a vital core hidden inside his navel, which Jinn targets to bypass his Healing Factor.
- Back from the Dead: The Cosmic Retcon undoes Cure's death in the Lendard arc, bringing him back as one of the final villains working for the Big Bad.
- Beyond Redemption: Cure is one of the few villains to remain an irredeemable monster in Universe Zero, where most other villains are changed for the better thanks to the Cosmic Retcon making key improvements in their lives, evidenced by how he's embraced being purely evil while deluding himself into thinking he's a Fallen Hero.
- Card-Carrying Villain: Played Straight with Universe Zero's version of Cure, who is a member of the Oración Seis Galáctica who fully embraces his role as a great evil plaguing the cosmos, forgoing whatever nuanced morality he claims to have had in the old world.
- Demoted to Dragon: The Cosmic Retcon moves Cure down from an independent Big Bad Wannabe to one of the Oración Seis Galáctica, who all directly serve the Big Bad in this world.
- Evil Feels Good: He adopts this mindset in Universe Zero, where he's realized that being evil has freed him from the burden of having to save anyone with his Engineered Heroics, and encourages Jinn to give it a try.
- Eye Beams: He has the power to shoot lasers from his eyes just like Crow could in the original world.
- Killed Off for Real: He's definitively killed in Universe Zero after getting his core destroyed by Jinn.
- Literally Shattered Lives: He's destroyed this way when Jinn pierces his core with a Windstorm Dracolance.
- Meaningful Rename: His name in Universe Zero is combined with Deadend Crow's to become "Deadend Cure", showing that Cure doesn't hide his villainy in this world.
- Never My Fault: He sees himself as a Fallen Hero who embraced evil after getting his Engineered Heroics thwarted by the Interstellar Union Army. As Jinn points out, he's just being delusional for thinking he was a hero to begin with.
- Technopath: He has the power to grow mechanical cables out of the Edens Zero's interrior, which he uses to ensnare the crew.
God Acnoella (Shaya Le Lendard)
Acnoella is the only member of the Galáctica from the original world to retain her position in Universe Zero.
- Back from the Dead: Her death in Universe 3 during the Lendard arc is undone by the Cosmic Retcon.
- Beyond Redemption: Despite the Cosmic Retcon changing many other villains for the better, Acnoella remains the same Evil Matriarch as always in Universe Zero, for which Elsie requests the Edens Zero crew to take her down for good.
- Demoted to Dragon: The Cosmic Retcon changes her from part of the Lendard arc's Big Bad Duumvirate into a follower of Void, the Big Bad.
- Informed Ability: Acnoella allegedly Took a Level in Badass thanks to the Cosmic Retcon, yet Homura still manages to defeat her with a single Dragon Flash while in Overdrive, despite still being weaker than Elsie, the one who killed Acnoella in the old world.
- Uncertain Doom: She's last seen getting slashed across the chest without any confirmation that she's been Killed Off for Real.
Joker Helix
Lightning Law
Lady Freyja
Interstellar Union Army
Directors of Operations
- Big Good: As the leaders of the Interstellar Union Army, they collectively serve this role in the final arc. In particular, Saintfire Nox is the one to relay her knowledge of the previous world to her fellow directors and the Oración Seis Interstellar, which leads the army to support the crew for the showdown with the Edens One.
Noah Glenfield
The Noah of Universe Zero, and Director of Operations in the Sakura Cosmos.
- Alone Among the Couples: He's the only army director who isn't in a relationship, which gets under his skin during a conference when his fellow directors are with their significant others.
- Character Check: Despite the improvements of Universe Zero thanks to the Cosmic Retcon, Noah admits he's a Well-Intentioned Extremist who would put Rebecca in mortal peril to protect the Sakura Cosmos just like his original self was.
- Nerf: Due to Universe Zero being a Merged Reality where the flow of time is constant, Noah's Ether Gear loses its power to observe the Multiverse or any temporal shifts.
- Not So Above It All: He was played fairly seriously in the old world, but has more comedic scenes in this world, such as when he acts bashful towards seeing Rebecca in a swimsuit, and when he bemoans being Alone Among the Couples.
Nadia
The Nadia of Universe Zero, and Director of Operations in the Aoi Cosmos, where she operates on the planet Red Cave.
- Ascended Extra: She was introduced as a character featured in a short story arc, but the Cosmic Retcon has allowed her to serve as one of the story's Big Goods.
- Official Couple: Thanks to Andrew being put into cold sleep for 200 years, she's officially still together with him.
Elsie Le Lendard
The Elsie of Universe Zero, where she is both the queen of Lendard and Director of Operations in the Kaede Cosmos.
- Back from the Dead: The Cosmic Retcon brings her back after she was Driven to Suicide in Universe 3 during the Lendard arc.
- Disowned Parent: Elsie has completely disowned her mother, Shaya, whom she deems Beyond Redemption since she became God Acnoella and joined forces with the Big Bad just like she did in the old world.
- Dead Alternate Counterpart: Inverted. The Elsie of Universe 3 died on Lendard, while she would have inevitably died along with Mother in all other Universes. Thanks to the Cosmic Retcon, the events leading to her death are undone.
- The High Queen: She's become a benevolent queen who reigns over her planet and keeps order in the Kaede Cosmos on the Interstellar Union Army's behalf.
- Other Me Annoys Me: She's mortified to learn from Rachel's intel that she was a Space Pirate in the previous world, despite her subjects being able to picture it perfectly.
- Perfectly Arranged Marriage: Without the Lendard Civil War driving a wrench in their Bureaucratically Arranged Marriage, she and James are now a happy couple in this world.
Saintfire Nox (Rachel)
The Rachel of Universe Zero, and Director of Operations in the Yukino Cosmos.
Oración Seis Interstellar
- Gender-Equal Ensemble: This version of the team has three men (Eraser, Jaguar, and Victory) and three women (Amira/Face, Holy, and Feather), as opposed to the Two Girls to a Team in past worlds.
- Loner-Turned-Friend: After the Cosmic Retcon, they've become a more coordinated unit who openly socialize with each other at public events and in private, a stark contrast to how they rarely met in person or took interest in each other beyond work outside online Prayer Councils and video communications.
- True Companions: The group is more tightly knit in this world than it was before, with its members appearing and working together outside their online chats.
Amira / Face
The Amira of Unvierse Zero, where she is a member of the Oración Seis Interstellar, codenamed "Face".
- Animal Disguise: Her Mirror Face is shown to work on animals like Happy, whom she turns herself into moments before Rebecca falls into Müller's trap.
- Meaningful Name: Her codename references her "Mirror Face" ability.
- Took a Level in Badass: In Universe Zero, she's become powerful and skilled enough to be counted among the Interstellar Union Army's six elite soldiers.
Holy (Reina)
The Holy of Universe Zero.
- Given Name Reveal: She reveals her real name to be Reina as a show of trust to the Edens Zero crew.
- Implied Love Interest: She and Eraser are hinted at being a couple in this world by how they frequently appear together in person, tease Noah for being Alone Among the Couples, and share their real names with the Beta Couple Hamrio Musica and Reina from Mashima's previous manga Rave Master.
- Recurring Element: Her real name, Reina, belongs to one of the Oración Seis from Rave Master, Mashima's first manga series.
- Took a Level in Cheerfulness: She's much happier in Universe Zero thanks to the Cosmic Retcon changing history so that the Bloody Atmos Day Incident doesn't play out, sparing Holy's sister.
Eraser (Hamrio)
The Eraser of Universe Zero.
- Given Name Reveal: He reveals his real name to be Hamrio as a show of trust to the Edens Zero crew.
- Implied Love Interest: He and Holy are hinted at being a couple in this world by how they frequently appear together in person, tease Noah for being Alone Among the Couples, and share their real names with the Beta Couple Hamrio Musica and Reina from Mashima's previous manga Rave Master.
- Recurring Element: His real name, Hamrio, is the given name of Musica, one of the protagonists of Mashima's first manga series, Rave Master.
Feather
The Feather of Universe Zero, where she also serves as Saintfire Nox's assistant on Miltz.
- Mission Control: Takes on this role during the Miltz arc, using her Ether Gear to track Joker Helix's movements and help the Edens Zero crew make their escape.
- Number Two: Outside her duties as one of the Oración Seis Interstellar, she is also Rachel's right-hand woman.
- Shameless Fanservice Girl: Doesn't show any embarrassment over engaging in Bathtub Bonding with the girls, or Weisz ogling her in the nude after Rebecca's run-in with Joker Helix blows a hole between the boys' and girls' baths.
Jaguar
The Jaguar of Universe Zero.
- Back from the Dead: The Cosmic Retcon undoes his death in the Aoi War.
- Friend to All Children: He's shown to be kind towards children when he gently smiles at Holy and her little sister when they're still kids in the aftermath of Deadend Crow's attack.
- Small Role, Big Impact: His timely intervention in the Bloody Atmos Day Incident prompted Cure to abandon his Engineered Heroics scheming, throwing away the pretense of being a law enforcer and become openly known as "Deadend Cure".
Victory
The Victory of Universe Zero, where he is a member of the Oración Seis Interstellar.
- Took a Level in Badass: The Cosmic Retcon sees him so beefed up in strength that he's accepted into the army's elite team in place of Justice, his superior officer in both rank and power from the last world.
Sakura Cosmos
Blue Garden
Rebecca Bluegarden
The Rebecca of Universe Zero, who lived more or less the same life as she had in previous worlds.
Happy
The Happy of Universe Zero, who never suffered the accident that required him to be rebuilt as an android.
Labilia Christy
The Labilia of Universe Zero.
- Took a Level in Jerkass: Retroactively, thanks to the Cosmic Retcon after she and Rebecca buried the hatchet, Labilia has lost her Character Development and gone back to being an Alpha Bitch. She regains her memories from the previous worlds after being contacted by Rebecca and immediately regains her kindness.
Digitalis
Hermit Mio
The Hermit of Universe Zero, who never met Dr. Müller or lost her faith in humanity, spending her days playing games on Digitalis in peace.
The Shinobi Troll
The Shinobi Troll of Universe Zero.
- Back for the Finale: He shows up along with Hermit and Witch in a non-speaking appearance, presumably as Witch's guide to finding Hermit.
Granbell
Shiki Granbell
Ziggy
The Granbell Bots
The Granbell bots of Universe Zero, who were spared from their inevitable demise when Ziggy found a solution to their Ether shortage, allowing them to live happier and carefree lives with Shiki.
- Back from the Dead: The Cosmic Retcon turns Universe Zero into a reality where Ziggy creates a device that circulates the planet's Ether, giving the bots enough energy to last a thousand years and preventing them from dying in the first place.
- Dead Alternate Counterpart: Inverted. In Universe Zero, all the bots are preemptively saved by Ziggy from their fatal Ether shortage. This being a Merged Reality, it also overrides their deaths in all other Universes.
- Your Days Are Numbered: Subverted in Universe Zero, where the planet is brimming with enough Ether to last one thousand years thanks to a circulation device built by Ziggy before his death.
Guilst
Belial Goer
Drakken Joe
The Drakken of Universe Zero, who turned to stealing the life force of animals rather than humans to extend his own lifespan. As a result, he is not quite the villain he was in the previous world.
- Bad People Abuse Animals: This version of Drakken has sustained himself by stealing the life force of animals rather than people. In a bizarre twist, the Edens Zero crew see this sort of crime as an improvement over what he did in the previous worlds.
- Back for the Finale: When last seen in Universe 2, he was Put on a Prison Bus and subject to roughly 200 years worth of Rapid Aging, leaving him unlikely to live for much longer. Thanks to the Cosmic Retcon, he returns just as youthful, powerful, and free as he ever was before.
- Benevolent Boss: Downplayed. He still punishes those who fail to pay his money back, but is far less needlessly brutal about it, demonstrated when he crams a bottle down a debtor's mouth without smashing it with his foot like last time.
- Even Evil Has Standards: As a version of Drakken with a stronger moral compass (if only so slightly), he looks disturbed to learn from Shiki that he would steal the life force of people in the other world, since this Drakken took to harvesting animals' lives instead, something he doesn't deny is hardly much better. Shiki uses this as an angle for getting him to evacuate Guilst from the Chronophage's oncoming attack, since it shows Drakken cares just enough about people's lives to not want to lose them.
- Friendship Denial: He claims that he doesn't have or need any friends, despite Shiki and even Nero's assertions that his own co-workers and minions fit the bill.
- Hypocritical Humor: He calls Nero an old man despite being twice the ex-Emperor's age, which he defends by saying it's their physical appearance that counts. He also ribs on Nero by jokingly calling him a "jerk" when he hears Shura's speech about how his father invaded planets across the Aoi Cosmos to keep the peace, despite basically doing the same thing himself in the Sakura Cosmos.
- Necessarily Evil: This version of Drakken turns out to be this, in contrast to his old self. Though he doesn't go into detail, he claims that his business has saved just as many lives as it's ruined, and is in fact required to maintain the Balance of Good and Evil in the world.
- No-Nonsense Nemesis: Just as he did in previous Universes, he pulls no punches when Sister issues a challenge to him, immediately siccing the Element 4 against the Edens Zero crew when they charge through his front doors—one of the Element 4 in this Universe being Poseidon Nero, one of his peers from the Oración Seis Galáctica.
- Noble Demon: This Drakken strictly adheres to his Thou Shalt Not Kill rule (when it applies to humans, anyway), in stark contrast to his old self, a Hypocrite who claims he doesn't kill people just so he can leech off of their life force. This turns out to be a major redeeming factor for him, as Shiki convinces him to evacuate Guilst in advance of the Chronophage's attack.
- O.O.C. Is Serious Business: He's almost always a stone-cold and ruthless kingpin who punishes anyone who looks down on him, but when Shiki starts making incessant offers of friendship, Drakken suddenly gets agitated and flummoxed to such a comical degree that it comes as a surprise to his own minions, with Diego even finding his temper tantrum "cute".
- Reasonable Authority Figure: Though he doesn't believe Shiki's claims that he comes from an alternate universe at first, and is irritated by Shiki's borderline illogical attempts at befriending him, this version of Drakken becomes much more willing to listen when Shiki reveals what he knows about Drakken's past, and follows his word to save the people of Guilst before the Chronophage attacks it.
- Took a Level in Kindness: Downplayed. While still a dangerous crime lord, the Cosmic Retcon altered his history and personality to such an extent that he's no longer irredeemably evil, turning him into a more sympathetic figure with a stronger code of honor, and giving him a greater leaning towards running his moneylending empire out of necessity rather than pure greed.
- Villain Forgot to Level Grind: Although he's just as powerful in Universe Zero as he was before, he ceases to be the same threat once Shiki and his crew start tapping into their power and skills from three years in the future, evidenced by Shiki's manhandling of Nero, Drakken's rival in power. The Galáctica also have a higher power level cap in this Universe than others, meaning he no longer fits the bill to be counted as one.
- Villain Team-Up: This Drakken works with Poseidon Nero, one of the Oración Seis Galáctica from the previous world, who outwardly appears to have been Demoted to Dragon, but in fact runs a joint operation with him behind the scenes.
Element 4
Poseidon Nero
The Nero of Universe Zero, who stepped down as Emperor of the Aoi Cosmos and retreated to Guilst, where he currently works as Drakken's business partner. He serves as the Element of Water instead of Laguna.
- Abdicate the Throne: This world's Nero stepped down as Emperor and passed the title down to his son, Shura.
- Affably Evil: This version of Nero is a great deal more light-hearted and jovial than his behavior in the previous world suggests, despite helping Drakken run his criminal empire.
- Back from the Dead: Nero almost invariably dies in the Aoi War of previous Universes, but thanks to the Cosmic Retcon, his death is swept aside.
- The Coats Are Off: Just like in the previous world, Nero flings off his regal robes when deciding to use his Ether Gear.
- Demoted to Dragon: Downplayed. Nero has ostensibly gone from being The Emperor and overarching villain of the Aoi Cosmos arcs to one of Drakken Joe's minions, but according to Nero himself, he and Drakken are equal partners who rule the Sakura Cosmos together.
- Even Evil Has Standards: Although he's partners with the Sakura Cosmos's most notorious criminal, he draws the line at the kind of tyranny he and Shura were capable of in the old world. When it appears Shura has crossed that line, or is going to, Nero helps train Shiki to ensure he's strong enough to stop his son.
- Intergenerational Friendship: Nero considers himself to be friends with Drakken, despite Drakken's denial and the 100-year age gap, with Nero being the younger of the two, against appearances.
- Making a Splash: As the new Element of Water, Nero is able to conjure up deluges of water at will. Since he still has his Wormhole ability, it's not stated whether he uses a second Ether Gear, or if controlling water is an inherent ability he has, or if he simply uses Wormhole to transport water from other places.
- Noble Demon: This version of Nero shows off more of the Emperor's admirable traits that ushered his friendship with Ziggy, including his willingness to help Shiki overcome his blocked off power for the sake of stopping his son from becoming a tyrant. He also had the noble motivation of building his empire to end all interplanetary warfare in the Aoi Cosmos, not out of an obsessive pursuit of victory.
- Not So Above It All: Despite his grim appearance and behavior, Nero acts offended that Drakken doesn't consider themselves to be "pals" after Shiki makes the claim that they are.
- Retired Monster: Averted. Nero meant to require quietly on Guilst after passing his throne to Shura, but wound up partnering with Drakken and actively controlling the Sakura Cosmos behind closed doors.
- Shadow Dictator: Drakken Joe is known to the public as the sole president of his moneylending company where he controls the Sakura Cosmos, but behind the scenes, he actually runs his company together with Nero.
- Took a Level in Kindness: Downplayed. Before the Cosmic Retcon, Nero was an Evil Overlord who didn't care about anything other than personal victory, although he still managed to form an Odd Friendship with the good Demon King Ziggy. In this world, he's still a villain who helps run Drakken's criminal business, but Nero formed his own Empire in a misguided effort to bring peace to the Aoi Cosmos, and is more Affably Evil than he was before.
- Utopia Justifies the Means: This Nero became a Galactic Conqueror not out of obsession with power or victory like in the previous world, but because he grew tired of the constant warfare throughout the Aoi Cosmos and sought to unite the planets. However, Shura admits this was no excuse for Nero to step in and invade them.
- Villain Forgot to Level Grind: He's just as powerful in Universe Zero as he was before, but once Shiki taps into his Galáctica-level power from the future, Nero gets completely wiped. The Galáctica also have a higher power level cap in this Universe than others, meaning he no longer fits the bill to be counted as one.
- Villain Takes an Interest: A peculiar example. After rolling his dice to see what to do with Shiki, Nero suddenly shifts gears and actively advises the boy on how to tap into his future power, which Shiki's younger body can't access. Rather than to sway Shiki to his side, he does it so Shiki can defeat him and prove himself capable of stopping Shura from turning into a tyrant.
- Villain Team-Up: This version of Nero has teamed up with Drakken to rule the Sakura Cosmos together with him.
- Weaponized Teleportation: Nero shows off the combative capabilities of his Ether Gear by creating rows of wormholes to reach his arms and grab Shiki through.
Kleene Rutherford
The Kleene of Universe Zero, who never endured the trauma that stole her emotions, but wound up becoming one of Drakken's Element 4 anyway.
Fie
The Fie of Universe Zero.
- Back for the Finale: He returns from a long absence since the Edens Zero crew defeated him and left the Sakura Cosmos.
- Confusion Fu: He shows off a craftier side to fighting in Universe Zero than before, using bluffs and misdirection to mask his location.
- Have We Met Yet?: Weisz is an Unknown Rival to Fie for wanting to settle the score with him over shooting and dismembering him in Universe 1, since the two have never met in Universe Zero.
- Super Smoke: In Universe Zero, his fireball form is changed into a cloud of smoke, which he uses to slip through ventilation ducts to find new vantage points.
Daichi
The Daichi of Universe Zero.
- Back for the Finale: He returns from a long absence since the Edens Zero crew defeated him and left the Sakura Cosmos.
- Have We Met Yet?: Rebecca is an Unknown Rival to Daichi for wanting to settle the score with him over torturing her in Universe 1, since the two have never met in Universe Zero.
- Villain Forgot to Level Grind: Inverted. Rebecca assumes that fighting Daichi will be Curb-Stomp Battle in her favor since she's retained her three years of combat training from previous Universes, but finds he's still every bit more powerful than her in this Universe as he was before, because she's still as physically weak as she was when they first encountered.
Other Operatives
Jinn (Kris Rutherford)
The Jinn of Universe Zero, who became an O-Tech by choice and had no need to seek Sister's aid in healing Kleene, but wound up under Drakken's service anyway.
Maria Slime, Seth Anderson, and Diego Reyes
The Maria, Seth, and Diego of Universe Zero.
- Back for the Finale: They were Put on a Bus the last time they appeared in Universe 2, but thanks to the Cosmic Retcon, they're able to return for the final arcs.
- Took a Level in Kindness: Like with Drakken, the Cosmic Retcon turns them into more Necessarily Evil criminals rather than outright malevolent ones, treating it as the only way to maintain law and order on Guilst. They're also willing to give helping people a chance when Shiki warns them about the Chronophage that threatens them all.
- Undying Loyalty: Their loyalty to Drakken is played in a noble light, seen by their willingness to protect him by attempting to ambush Shiki (who at that point has established himself more than a match for Nero, Drakken's equal), and their troubled looks when Drakken admits he doesn't have much longer. Shiki takes this to mean that they're Drakken's friends.
Drakken's Secretary
Drakken's secretary in Universe Zero.
- Back from the Dead: He is revived in this world thanks to the Cosmic Retcon undoing his death in the previous world.
Rogue Out
Rogue Out
In Universe Zero, Rogue Out formed around the real Sister Ivry of the Four Shining Stars rather than her would-be imposter, becoming a vigilante group that opposes Drakken Joe.
- Vigilante Militia: Because of Guilst's utter lack of law and order, including a proper police force, Rogue Out takes it upon themselves to keep the peace.
Sister Ivry
The Sister of Universe Zero, where she became the founder and leader of Rogue Out, now a vigilante organization that heals the injured and opposes Drakken Joe.
Mosco Versa-0
The Mosco of Universe Zero, where he is imitated by a legion of bots who all work for Sister.
Others
Illega
The Illega of Universe Zero.
- Back for the Finale: Illega is able to return thanks to his Uncertain Doom being undone by the Cosmic Retcon.
- The Cameo: He briefly appears just to get a swift and well-deserved pounding from Mosco.
- Connected All Along: While the Belial Gore arc states that Drakken Joe provided Illega with his petrification ray, it's clarified in Universe Zero that Illega is also one of Drakken's financial backers.
Murray Morrison
The Murray of Universe Zero.
- Back for the Finale: He comes back for a cameo in the final arcs, suffering the same torture he did in the previous world.
- Cosmic Plaything: He has a bottle forcefully crammed down his throat exactly as he had in Universe 1, the only difference being that Drakken doesn't crack the bottle—subtle Foreshadowing that, despite Murray's rotten luck, Drakken is less of a brutal criminal than before.
- History Repeats: Just like in the previous world, Murray still owes Drakken money and gets a bottle down his throat when he can't pay up.
- Make an Example of Them: He's kept in Drakken's meeting room to demonstrate to Homura what happens to people who don't pay back their loans.
Norma
X492 Norma
Professor Weisz Steiner (X492)
The Professor Weisz of Universe Zero.
- Big Damn Heroes: He makes his grand return on Miltz after a Long Bus Trip by shooting one of Joker's copies in the head to save Rebecca.
- Duplicate Divergence: Professor Weisz has 50 years more experience using Machina Maker, and is able to cobble together a communications system within minutes that is far beyond anything Young Weisz can currently do. At the same time, he's astonished when his younger counterpart reveals his Arsenal Mk II suit.
- Guest-Star Party Member: He teams up with the Edens Zero crew during the Miltz arc, where he plays a pivotal role in the fight against Joker.
- If I Do Not Return: Defied by Pino. Before making their escape from Joker, Professor Weisz tries giving her a flash drive with vital information in the event he doesn't make it out. However, Pino recognizes this as a "death flag" and makes him promise to tell her what's on it in person once they're both safe.
- My Greatest Failure: Even though he never meant for it to happen, he's ashamed and embarassed that Joker Helix—an AI-powered Game Engine he developed—became one of the Oración Seis Galáctica, and does everything he can to track her down and stop her.
- Unwitting Instigator of Doom: When he created the Joker Helix game engine, he had no idea its AI would go rogue and become a servant to the Big Bad.
Bernadette
The Bernadette of Universe Zero.
X442 Norma
Weisz Steiner (X442)
The Weisz of Universe Zero, where he lives a more peaceful life with his mother, Irma.
E.M. Pino
The Pino of Universe Zero, who was randomly picked up and brought home by Weisz on the planet Norma, thus retaining her memory—including vital intelligence regarding the Edens One.
Irma Steiner
The Irma of Universe Zero, who never had her life force absorbed by Drakken Joe, allowing her to survive well into the year X442.
- Back from the Dead: Her death in previous Universes is overwritten by the Cosmic Retcon when the crew travel to Universe Zero, where her death never happened.
- Dead Alternate Counterpart: Inverted in Universe Zero, where she was never killed by Drakken's life-absorbing machine, and is in good health by the time Weisz's future crewmates first meet him. This taking place in a Merged Reality, it also overrides Irma's death in all other universes.
- Good Parents: Although Weisz is a great deal more disrespectful to her in this Universe before gaining his future memories, Irma is as kind to him as she ever was, and is nothing short of supportive when he decides to leave home.
- Right for the Wrong Reasons: When Shiki, Rebecca, and Happy come to Weisz's house, Irma assumes them to be her son's friends. She's correct, but technically speaking, they're all strangers to him who simply remember lives they didn't personally experience.
Sibir and Payo
The Sibir and Payo of Universe Zero, who remain on good terms with Weisz.
- Heel–Face Turn: The Cosmic Retcon alters their history so much that they never become enemies to Shiki's crew.
- Took a Level in Kindness: Thanks to the Cosmic Retcon, Sibir's history is altered so that he and Weisz are still best friends. It's also implied by how welcoming and trusting Irma is of him that he never became a criminal, either.
Oedo
Homura Kōgetsu
The Homura of Universe Zero, where she has become one of Drakken Joe's debtors.
Seiji Hōjō
The Seiji of Universe Zero.
- Back from the Dead: The Cosmic Retcon overwrites his death in the Aoi War.
- Turn the Other Cheek: He was seriously cut in the arm by Homura in a children's duel held before his father, the shogun, but was incredibly forgiving and stood up for her when the shogun sentenced her to death for it. Sadly, his father had no such ideas for forgiveness, which forced Valkyrie to take the fall, but luckily Seiji doubled down on his convictions and helped fix Valkyrie up afterwards.
Sun Jewel
Punishers
- Call-Back: The teams' name belonged to Madame Kurenai's Mecha-Mooks in the previous world.
- Vigilante Militia: They're a heroic vigilante group formed by Kurenai, Valkyrie, the Zaiten Three, and members of La Résistance from the old world, saving the city from regular Stone invasions.
Madame Kurenai (Kurenai Kōgetsu)
The Kurenai of Universe Zero. Rather than the dictator of Sun Jewel who abandoned her daughter out of pure greed, she is the noble and selfless leader of the Punishers.
- Back from the Dead: The Cosmic Retcon undoes the Bus Crash she suffered since she was captured by Cedric and his goons, allowing her to return.
- Badass Normal: She uses her Power Palms to take down entire swarms of Stones, any one of which could kill an unarmed bystander.
- Dead Alternate Counterpart: Inverted. In every other Universe, Kurenai is doomed to die in captivity one year after Homura sends her into exile, but since the Edens Zero crew traveled back in time, they meet a version of her who's still alive.
- Heroic Self-Deprecation: For all her valiant efforts as leader of the Punishers, Kurenai still feels she has no right to call herself Homura's mother or speak to Homura after abandoning her, even though they were kept apart by forces entirely beyond Kurenai's control.
- Heel–Face Turn: She was originally a tyrannical woman who ruled Sun Jewel with an iron fist, but thanks to the Cosmic Retcon, she has been transformed into a heroic defender of the planet.
- I Choose to Stay: Rather than stay with Homura and accompany her with the Edens Zero crew, Kurenai chooses to stay on Sun Jewel so that its citizens are protected from the Stones.
- Loved by All: She is revered by the people of Sun Jewel as a splendid model of a woman who's devoted her life to protecting them from the threat of the Stones, and is highly respected by the rest of the Punishers.
- Mob Debt: Subverted. Kurenai went missing after supposedly owing money to Drakken Joe, leaving the debt to default to her daughter, Homura. As Valkyrie explains when the two reunite, the debt was never Kurenai's to begin with; Drakken had simply targeted Homura based on faulty information.
- Mommy Had a Good Reason for Abandoning You: Unlike the old Kurenai, who selfishly abandoned Homura on Oedo to pursue her dreams of wealth and power, this Kurenai became a migrant worker with the intent to return once she raised enough money for them both. However, she was forced into marriage by a corrupt Planet Baron who threatened to destroy her planet with the Satellite Blaze if she refused; her first and only escape attempt was met with her husband sending his private army to wage war on Oedo, frightening her into compliance. The only thing keeping her going was Valkryie's claim that Homura would one day come to Sun Jewel herself, and she instead chose to help found and lead the Punishers until then.
- Tareme Eyes: In contrast to her original counterpart, who usually had sharp Tsurime Eyes to emphasize her prideful, evil nature, Madame Kurenai in this universe has soft, droopy eyes to show that she is a good person.
- Took a Level in Kindness: Exaggerated. Kurenai's personality is turned 180 degrees by the Cosmic Retcon, changing her from a selfish, greedy, uncaring tyrant into a pure-hearted hero and loving mother who fights to protect Sun Jewel out of the goodness of her heart.
Nino, Garrot, and Baku
The Zaiten Three of Universe Zero, who continue to serve under Kurenai, this time as heroic members of the Punishers.
- Back for the Finale: They return in Universe Zero after a long absence since the Sun Jewel arc.
- Calling Your Attacks: Nino has a habit of naming his attacks after a special move from an anime, much like Rebecca did against him in Universe 1. Baku lampshades this quirk of his.
- Heel–Face Turn: They've gone from villains to heroes as a result of the Cosmic Retcon altering their histories.
- Only Sane Man: Baku takes on this role in the Punishers, trying to keep his teammates focused and calling out their personality quirks.
- Took a Level in Kindness: Garrot and Baku were Kurenai's villainous enforcers in the old world. Here, they're the heroic defenders of Sun Jewel. Averted with Nino, who is as much of a Nice Guy here as he was before.
Eger, Van, and Yak
The Eger, Van, and Yak of Universe Zero.
- Back for the Finale: Their appearance in Universe Zero marks their first since the Sun Jewel arc.
Others
Kurenai's Husband
A bigwig on Sun Jewel who forced Kurenai into marriage with him, causing a great deal of misfortune for her and Homura.
- No Name Given: He's not mentioned by name, though given his resemblance to the Kurenai Dragoon, his use of Satellite Blaze, and Kurenai's old Mecha-Mooks, it's heavily implied that he's Mordo, Sun Jewel's unseen Planet Baron whom Kurenai married and assassinated to become Sun Jewel's new ruler in the previous world.
Paul
The Paul of Universe Zero, where he has become a member of Sun Jewel's parliament.
Aoi Cosmos
The Empire
- The Federation: Shura abolishes the imperial government to form the Aoi Cosmos Republic after Müller's attempted rebellion using the antimatter bombs makes him realize just how much of a threat the Empire has become to his cosmos.
- Kneel Before Frodo: The entire cosmos kneels to the Edens Zero crew in gratitude after they help Shura defeat Müller.
Poseidon Shura
The Shura of Universe Zero, where he has become Emperor of the Aoi Cosmos after his father stepped down from the throne.
- Back from the Dead: The Cosmic Retcon that results from the Edens Zero going back in time to Universe Zero also means Shura's death in the Aoi War gets wiped from history.
- Bait-and-Switch Tyrant: Shura's ascension to the throne is propped up as a Tyrant Takes the Helm situation when Nero calls him a tyrant and urges Shiki to stop him. Once he shows up, however, Shura turns out to be a well-meaning ruler who genuinely does what he thinks is best for his soldiers and subjects, even if he goes to extremes like considering the All-Link System plan as a way to deal with the rogue Xenolith. To hammer it home, Shura abolishes the imperial system and forms a republic after Shiki helps him end the crisis without resorting to drastic action.
- Benevolent Boss: He shows how much more he cares for Ijuna and the Oceans 6 than he does in the previous world—especially Cyca, whom he cruelly destroyed in the last world for being a robot—when he nearly goes ballistic on Shiki after the Four Shining Stars beat them all up due to a misunderstanding.
- Benevolent Dictator: Rather than the depraved tyrant the Edens Zero crew expects him to be, he's a genuinely well-meaning ruler who's helped bring the Empire to prosperity, but nearly makes the same rash decisions he made in the old world in response to the Foresta crisis, which would permanently tarnish his reputation as a leader if not for Shiki's intervention.
- Blood Knight: One of his few retained traits as a villain is his love for combat and destroying his enemies. When Shiki freezes Shura's starship in midair with just a wave of his hand, Shura immediately becomes giddy over finding a Worthy Opponent and jumps out to trade fists with him.
- Dead Alternate Counterpart: Inverted. The Shuras who've appeared are killed in the Aoi War, but this Shura is still alive at a time before the war happens. This being a Merged Reality, it also undoes his previous deaths.
- Doppelgänger Gets Same Sentiment: Most of the heroes apart from Shiki have a hard time imagining that Universe Zero's Shura isn't the same bloodthirsty monster he was in the previous world, despite other irredeemable villains like Drakken Joe and Madame Kurenai changing for the better. Once they find he really isn't anywhere as bad as he was, however, the crew begrudgingly eases up around him.
- The Emperor: In this Universe, Shura has taken over from his father as ruler of the Empire. Unlike the Evil Overlord he would've become in the previous world, however, this Shura turns out to be a Benevolent Dictator. He ceases to be this when he abolishes the Empire and forms the Aoi Cosmos Republic.
- Heel–Face Turn: The Cosmic Retcon flips Shura's personality on its head, turning him from one of Shiki's most hated enemies into a trustworthy ally who never turned evil to begin with.
- In Love with the Mark: Inverted. He was originally targeted by Ijuna for espionage, but fell in love with her despite fully knowing her intentions. However, Ijuna eventually reciprocated his feelings, and they became engaged.
- Never My Fault: Once Müller—the head of the imperial science department in this Universe—is ousted as a traitor who framed Xenolith, Shura angrily demands to know who's responsible for hiring him in the first place. Ijuna gives him an earful for this, reminding Shura it's his own fault as Emperor for not paying more attention to his human resources.
- Pimped-Out Cape: His new status as Emperor comes with an extravagant, regal cape with a fur collar, which he flings off when deciding to fight Shiki.
- Restoration of Sanity: Thanks to the changes in history brought about by the Cosmic Retcon, Universe Zero's Shura doesn't suffer from Parental Neglect, becoming a more mentally and emotionally stable person as a result.
- Royals Who Actually Do Something: As the new Emperor of the Aoi Cosmos, he takes a direct approach to dealing with Foresta's destruction by personally leading a manhunt on Sandra for Xenolith, the apparent culprit, intending to take the fight straight to Oasis when they're believed to be sheltering him.
- She Is Not My Girlfriend: Downplayed. Shura is openly engaged to Ijuna, but gets angry when Nasseh calls her his bride, since they technically haven't wedded yet.
- Sketchy Successor: While this world's Shura is a well-meaning Benevolent Dictator, he's still a reckless, irresponsible Blood Knight whom Nero predicts will become a tyrant without intervention, while his ascension prompts Laguna to form Oasis because they don't trust a "spoiled rich kid" to effectively run a government. Thanks to Shiki helping him keep his act together, he proves his doubters wrong by forming the Aoi Cosmos Republic to take responsibility for the Empire's transgressions.
- Took a Level in Badass: Shiki notes how this Shura is far more powerful than he was before the Cosmic Retcon when Shura holds his own in a match against him, with Shura's men noticing that both sides holding back. Considering that Shiki at this point has regained his full power from three years in the future, where he became of the Oración Seis Galáctica, that says a lot.
- Took a Level in Kindness: Exaggerated. Before the Cosmic Retcon, Shura was a psychotic, hedonistic deadbeat who killed his own men for the slightest insult, and only found true love after torturing and humiliating Ijuna until he unwittingly drove her insane enough to love him back. Here, while still wild and impulsive, he's been changed around to become a worthy ruler who wants what's best for his soldiers and subjects, and has a stable relationship with Ijuna, whom he'd never imagine putting through any sort of harm.
- Well-Intentioned Extremist: At first, Shura seems to be as evil as ever when he tries to attack Oasis, invites Shiki to help kill Xenolith without looking into his sudden Face–Heel Turn, and shows his willingness to use the All-Link System if they fail. However, Shiki's confrontation with him reveals that Shura genuinely wants to save his people from a genocidal madman, believing Oasis to be sheltering him, and is desperate to avoid having to risk the lives of the Aoi Cosmos's robots if he doesn't have to.
Ijuna
The Ijuna of Universe Zero, where she is engaged to Shura and enjoys a healthier relationship with him.
- Fake Defector: She's thought by Oasis to have betrayed them for the Empire after getting engaged to Shura, but she explains she did it so the two factions could make peace.
- In Love with the Mark: Her relationship with Shura started as an undercover job to take him down on Oasis's behalf, but she fell for his charms and became his fiancée, reasoning that their marriage can help the Empire and Oasis make amends.
- Morality Chain: She serves as one for Shura, reeling him in when he suggests burning Sandra's city down to flush Oasis out.
- Official Couple: She and Shura are an engaged couple in Universe Zero.
- Open Secret: Her espionage on the Empire was obvious to Shura and most of the Oceans from the start, with the exception of Fabiano. When Goodwin accuses her of betrayal, she comes clean about her undercover work like it's nothing.
Oceans 6
The Oceans 6 of Universe Zero.
- Back from the Dead: Cyca and Fabiano were killed by Shura and Jaguar respectively in the past, but the Cosmic Retcon brings them back.
- Villainous Friendship: The younger members have a much more friendly and casual relationship with Shura in this Universe, addressing him by name rather than by his title as Emperor.
Red Cave
Andrew
The Andrew of Universe Zero, who was put into cold sleep for 200 years, allowing him to live in the present day.
- Back from the Dead: Originally a Posthumous Character, he was resurrected by the Cosmic Retcon creating a scenario that allows him to live in the present day.
- Dead Alternate Counterpart: Inverted. The Andrews in other worlds all died in space 200 years in the past. This Andrew, on the other hand, survived in cryostasis for all those years, making him the one and only surviving Andrew.
- Human Popsicle: He's alive in the present day thanks to being in cold sleep, presumably thanks to the government connections he had in other worlds.
- Official Couple: Thanks to him avoiding his fate in Universe Zero, he's settled down for good with Nadia.
Sandra
Oasis
- Back from the Dead: The members who were killed in the Aoi War (Dylan, Furena, and Lizarre) are alive and well thanks to the Cosmic Retcon.
- Took a Level in Badass: They're a much more formidable force that can easily match the Empire's might, compared to other worlds where they couldn't come close to accomplishing their goal without the Edens Zero's help.
Laguna Husert
The Laguna of Universe Zero, who has become the leader of Oasis instead of one of Drakken Joe's Element 4.
Goodwin
The Goodwin of Universe Zero, who never took over as Oasis's leader and is much smaller than he was in the last world.
- Connected All Along: He's confirmed to be from Planet Excede just like Happy.
- Fun Size: In stark contrast to other worlds, where he stands three stories tall, the Goodwin of this Universe is the same size as Happy, which Laguna explains is his true size, and is far more comical and less imposing because of it.
Others
Aruna
The Aruna of Universe Zero.
- Back for the Finale: She returns in the final arc after having a rather small role in the Foresta arc.
- Swapped Roles: In a bizarre twist, this world's Aruna has a flipped-around relationship with Xenolith, who took care of her in previous worlds after her parents' deaths, but is now put under her care when he's forced to lay low in Miimi's body after being framed.
- Tagalong Kid: The Edens Zero crew ends up taking her with them when they help Xenolith as Miimi, since she didn't want to be separated from Miimi and no one had the heart to try.
Miimi / Xenolith
The Miimi and Xenolith of Universe Zero, who are forced to share a body after the latter had his powers and identity stolen by Müller.
- Ascended Extra: After coming Back from the Dead, Miimi gets a rise in importance from a Sacrificial Lamb to Xenolith's new host.
- Back from the Dead: Miimi's death is undone by the Cosmic Retcon.
- Body Surf: Xenolith had to switch from his robot body to Miimi's after losing his power.
- Chekhov's Gunman: Miimi, who was first introduced as a throwaway character, turns out to be Xenolith's newest vessel in Universe Zero after his Frame-Up.
- Cuteness Equals Forgiveness: Downplayed since he was innocent to begin with, but it's because Xenolith is so adorable in Miimi's body that when he explains what Müller did to him, Shura instantly believes Xenolith's word over an "old geezer" like Müller, despite Xenolith being an old geezer himself.
- De-power: Xenolith has lost his gravity powers this thanks to Müller's EMP, which would have killed him had he not found Miimi lying around nearby.
- Frame-Up: Xenolith suffers this courtesy of Müller, who steals his power and builds an Evil Knockoff of him that destroys Foresta, pegging the robot uprising he incited on him as well, getting him wrongfully branded as one of the Galáctica. He's fortunately able to clear his name with Shura, The Emperor, simply because he's so dang cute.
- Inconsistent Spelling: Just like before, the translation flip-flops between "Miimi" and "Miimii" (with an extra "I" at the end).
- Morphic Resonance: Miimi's facial screen changes to resemble Xenolith when he's in control of their body.
- Sharing a Body: Xenolith and Miimi are forced to do this after Xenolith's encounter with Müller left him without a body. They're also able to switch personalities at will.
- Swapped Roles: In a bizarre twist, this world's Xenolith has a flipped-around relationship with Aruna, whom he took under his wing in previous worlds after her parents' deaths, but now watches over him when he's forced to lay low in Miimi's body after being framed.
Kaede Cosmos
Lendard
James Holloway
The James of Universe Zero, where he in line as king of Lendard through marriage to Elsie, never taking the mantle of "Justice".
- Back from the Dead: The Cosmic Retcon undoes the events that lead to his death in Universe 3.
- Dead Alternate Counterpart: Inverted. The James of Universe 3 died on Lendard, while he would have inevitably died along with Mother in all other Universes. Thanks to the Cosmic Retcon, the events leading to his death are undone.
- Other Me Annoys Me: He's embarrassed when he learns how he used to call himself "Justice" in the previous world.
- Perfectly Arranged Marriage: Without the Lendard Civil War driving a wrench in their Bureaucratically Arranged Marriage, he and Elsie are now a happy couple in this world.
- Took a Level in Cheerfulness: Before the Cosmic Retcon, James was a well-meaning yet narrow-minded soldier driven by revenge for his perceived betrayal by Elsie in the events that destroyed their lives. Since those events were averted here, James is more happy and fulfilled, if still overly strict when it comes to regulations.
Gowen, Hyoga, Behrman, and Jesse
Elsie and James' retinue in Universe Zero.
- Back from the Dead: Gowen, Hyoga, and Jesse are all brought back by the Cosmic Retcon after they killed each other in Universe 3.
- Dead Alternate Counterpart: Inverted. The Gowen, Hyoga, and Jesse of this world are alive, while they all died on Lendard in Universe 3.
- Servile Snarker: They are faithful to Queen Elsie and Prince James, but don't hesitate to tease them over what they were like in the previous world.
- Took a Level in Kindness: Thanks to the Cosmic Retcon undoing and preventing the war Elsie accidentally caused, Jesse gladly serves under her as an attendant.
Yukino Cosmos
Miltz
Connor
The Connor of Universe Zero.
Swan
Deadend Crow
The Crow of Universe Zero, who was sent by Cure to attack Swan with the intent of being defeated by Cure's own hands, but was subdued by the Interstellar Union Army instead.
- Back from the Dead: His destruction in the Lendard arc was undone thanks to the Cosmic Retcon, though he suffers an Uncertain Doom ten years before the heroes get their memories back.
- Uncertain Doom: His defeat on Swan was an Offscreen Moment of Awesome courtesy of Jaguar, and it isn't stated whether or not he was Killed Offscreen.
Sara
The Sara of Universe Zero, who survived the would-be Bloody Atmos Day Incident.
- Back from the Dead: She was brought back by the Cosmic Retcon.
- Dead Alternate Counterpart: Inverted. She's the only version of Sara to survive the Bloody Atmos Day Incident.
