The Shadowscythe

A faction of undead led by Sepulchure.
    open/close all folders
    In General
  • Always Chaotic Evil: Shadowscythe's rank and file are composed of mindless undead that enjoy killing for its own sake. Subverted with Sepulchure and his generals, who are more calm and collected.
  • Catchphrase: "LONG UNLIVE THE SHADOWSCYTHE!"
  • The Necrocracy: Almost their entire army and staff are comprised of undead.
  • Obviously Evil: Commanding an army of undead implies evil by default.
  • Ominous Floating Castle: Their former base of operations, until the real Grams manages to sabotage it.

     Sepulchure
The main threat of Book 1, a legendary Doom Knight and the ominous leader of the Shadowscythe who commands legions of undead. While serving as the legitimate Big Bad, he ultimately to answers to his mysterious Master. Sepulchure seeks the Elemental Orbs for himself and won't stop at anything to obtain them.
  • Alien Blood: His blood is green, indicating his loss of humanity.
  • The Antichrist: This guy exists for the sole purpose of ending the world, or at least that's what everyone thought, until it's revealed he's a puppet to his master, who is the true antichrist.
  • Arch-Enemy: The Hero's longest running and most persistent enemy, with the two having been in a heated conflict with each other for years.
  • Backstory: Though not fully revealed in DragonFable, in AdventureQuest Worlds (with Geopetal's permission) it was revealed that his real name is Valen. He used to be a great knight from Swordhaven, and Alteon's best friend, and they both overthrew King Slugwrath. However, they both fell in love with a woman called Lynaria, and had a duel to decide who would have her hand, and Valen lost. However, Lynaria was later kidnapped by Dethrix, who took her to the Necropolis. Valen got there, but his efforts were futile until the Mysterious Stranger offered him the Doomknight armor and the Necrotic Blade of Doom. With his new-found power, he defeated Dethrix, but it cost Valen his sanity and free will. Lynaria thought there was still Valen within Sepulchure but the armor attacked her, killing her. He is 'compelled' into creating the Shadowscythe and obtaining the Ultimate Orb as to obey his master... and the only person he now cares about is the daughter he had with Lynaria: Gravelyn. With a few modifications and what not, that's his past.
  • Bad with the Bone: When he is using the Necrotic Blade of Doom.
  • Badass Boast:
    • Delivers one to Falconreach, and the Hero, in The Final 13th.
Sepulchure: FALCONREACH! On this day... you will know your place in the order of things. The tale of your destruction.. shall be told for thousands of years! NO ONE stands against the mighty Sepulchure! NO ONE withstands my wrath. Your fate is sealed! Today.. you will witness the birth of a legend! Today... I will destroy EVERYTHING you love. And when your heart is filled with pain and sorrow, and your mind is crushed under the weight of despair... I will claim the Orb of Darkness, and this world shall be MINE. HAHAHAHAHAHA! There is nowhere to run. There is nowhere to hide.
    • There also is one Played for Laughs, in Ex Machina.
Sepulchure: Might makes right, and I am VERY mighty. If that gnome who has it now can stop me from taking it, he can keep it.
Dave v384.16: You are the very foolish human, to think that you could exterminate enough of the Cyklons to reach the Energy Orb.
Sepulchure: *sneer* You underestimate me, machine. My powers far outstrip those of some buckets of bolts.
      Drakath: But... doesn't <the Hero> want to-
Sepulchure: Be quiet, Drakath. I'm boasting.
  • Bad Boss: He is very unforgiving to his subjects and treats them little better than he treats his enemies, especially Drakath.
  • BFS: He uses the Necrotic Blade of Doom.
  • Big Bad: Of the entirety of Book 1. While he is the main antagonist and mastermind of the Elemental Orbs story arc, it's later revealed he answers to a higher power, the Mysterious Stranger, who serves as the Greater-Scope Villain.
  • Body Horror: Remember how the Irismancer says Sepulchure's armor "wears him"? In Book 3 we get to see what he looks like after attempts to remove said armor and it's not pretty. His body has exposed muscle and the various spikes and horns on his old armor can still be seen in certain places.
  • Breakout Villain: He was so popular as a villain he was brought back in AdventureQuest Worlds as the first Arc Villain before Drakath took over and still remains as a very important figure throughout the game. He also makes a return in Book 3 depicted in a more sympathetic light and partial redemption.
  • Brought Down to Badass: In the Book 1 finale, he gets his enormous power drained by Mysterious Stranger. However, his journal in Book 3 reveals he still retains a considerable amount of it.
  • The Bus Came Back: In the Book 1 finale, he gets his power drained by Mysterious Stranger who leaves him for dead, and had a What Happened to the Mouse? fate for years. He finally resurfaces again in Book 3, where the end of the Blank Winter War reveals that Amadeus is Sepulchure in disguise, and still royally pissed at you.
  • The Chessmaster: Masterminded the capture of all of the Elemental Orbs into his grasp. While he didn't anticipate being betrayed by Drakath and Mysterious Stranger, he would spend years making up for his mistake to hatch a new plan.
  • Dark Is Evil: Played straight, where he frequently states he is the darkness.
  • Dragon-in-Chief: Though he is the Emperor of the Shadowscythe and serves as the legitimate Big Bad who is the mastermind behind the Orb Saga and his actions drive the plot, Sepulchure is ultimately revealed to still answer to a "Master" above him, who turns out to be the Mysterious Stranger.
  • The Dreaded: Big time. Everyone's scared shitless of him, even the people who work for him. Especially the people who work for him. When the Hero figures out that not only is he very much alive, he's Lyn's father and they're in his home, they almost go into shock.
  • 11th-Hour Ranger: He becomes a party member only when The Hero fights Drakath.
  • Enemy Mine:
    • In the Book 1 finale, The Hero forms an alliance with him to take down Drakath, who has betrayed him and that really pisses him off.
    • Again in Book 3, as Amadeus. He has a huge list of reasons to want the Hero dead, but ultimately considers destroying the Doom Weapons a better use of his time. Odds are he's only letting you live because he hates the Mysterious Stranger more than he hates you.
  • Expy: To Darth Vader. Sepulchure is clad in armor and a helm 24/7, he serves as The Dragon to his mysterious master who wears a hood, he Was Once a Man but has lost his humanity, he's a Fallen Hero who was once the greatest Knight but lost something dear to him, he got corrupted by a greater evil who he serves allegiance to as his master, he wields a sword, has a child who serves as a Morality Pet, and is later forced to team up with the Hero. AdventureQuest Worlds also gives him a cape, and makes him an Arch Nemesis Dad for one Saga where he hunts his child.
  • Even Evil Has Loved Ones: Despite being the embodiment of all things evil, he dearly loves his daughter Gravelyn.
  • Even Evil Has Standards: During the course of his job within the Rose as Amadeus, he comes across the Dangerous Forbidden Technique known as Fleshweaving. While he does find it intriguing from a scientific standpoint, his experience with the Shadowscythe leads him to conclude that it's far too vile and dangerous to be worth pursuing.
  • Evil Counterpart: To The Hero, being an Evil Overlord who constantly tries to invade Falconreach, possesses the antithesis to the Hero's Dragon, and also seeks to capture the Elemental Orbs.
  • Evil Overlord: The Emperor of the Shadowscythe and commands legions of undead.
  • The Faceless: The top half at least.
  • Fallen Hero: He used to be the greatest Knight of Pactagonal Table, but lost something dear to him, leading him to turn to darkness.
  • The Heavy: Whether Sepulchure is considered the Big Bad or The Dragon, he is nonetheless the central threat of Book 1.
  • Heel–Face Turn: Averted. In Book 3, while he no longer antagonizes the Hero directly and even purifies their dragon, he murders whoever comes close to his home and raises them as his undead slaves, states when purifying our dragon that "I'm not doing this for you", and is currently manipulating Jaania for personal gain; the only reason the Hero leaves him be is because of the love he holds for his daughter.
  • Hopeless Boss Fight: The Hero has two chances to fight him, the first time on dragon back where he rides Fluffy, and the second time in person. Both of which are unwinnable.
    • In the second battle, he can inflict massive amounts of damage, has more hit-points than the Elemental Avatars by orders of magnitude, enough Damage Reduction to reduce your strongest attacks to Scratch Damage, and immediately heals up what little damage you managed to do each turn. Some players figured out that he could actually be beaten by using a Percent Damage Attack, so an Obvious Rule Patch was added to make Sepulchure use Mana Burn, preventing said special attack. And even if a player does figure out a way to defeat Sepulchure, The Battle Didn't Count.
    • A beatable Sepulchure appears in Frostval 2014 when the timelines merge. Even then he's still an extremely difficult opponent.
    • Another beatable Sepulchure is in The Inn at the Edge of Time's Unfortunate Souls Challenge. As with all other fights there, it's a deliberately extremely hard challenge fight, even harder than the Frostval 2014 fight.
  • Humanoid Abomination: Not only he is undead, Sepulchure's armor and sword are alive and possessed by spirits of Darkness. According to the Irismancer, Sepulchure doesn't wear his armor, Sepulchure's armor wears him.
  • I Control My Minions Through...: Sepulchure uses many methods to control his minions (including authority, Mind Control, Revenge, a Piece of the Action, dental, etc.), but he primarily rules the Shadowscythe with good, old-fashioned fear. He indulges in Cold-Blooded Torture, You Have Outlived Your Usefulness and You Have Failed Me whenever he has the chance (that is, when it won't hinder his plans).
    • In Walk Through Fire, Drakath says this to the Hero:
Drakath: There is nothing you can do to me that is worse than the price for failing Sepulchure.
  • In the Back: Stabbed in the back by Drakath, with his own sword to boot.
  • Invincible Villain: Comparing an ant with a dinosaur doesn't even begin to describe how much Sepulchure's fighting ability surpasses The Hero's. It ultimately takes a near Deus ex Machina to trigger his Villainous Breakdown. Up till then, Sepulchure handily won every single situation he personally took part in.
  • It's Personal with the Dragon: It is him and not his master who is the Arch-Enemy to the Hero.
  • Knight of Cerebus: For Book 1 he was a contender for darkest villain in the game. While not without occasional comedic moments, he is usually played straight and things get a lot more serious whenever he shows up.
  • Meaningful Name: Means "grave" or "tomb".
  • Mêlée à Trois: In the Orb Saga Finale, after betrayed by Drakath who seizes the Ultimate Elemental Orb himself and fuses with Fluffy, this leads both Sepulchure and the Hero to individually fight Drakath, while at the same time fighting each other with Sepulchure summoning undead skeletal minions to keep the Hero occupied. Eventually Nythera suggests he and the Hero stop fighting each other and fight against their common threat, leading the two to form an Enemy Mine to take down Drakath together.
  • Names to Run Away from Really Fast: See Meaningful Name.
  • Nigh-Invulnerable: Prior to Book 1 finale, he was pretty much completely invincible.
  • Number of the Beast: If you look at his stat sheet during the Final 13th battle, all of Sepulchure's stats except Wisdom are set to 666. So are are his Parry, Dodge, and Block rates.
  • Omnicidal Maniac: As revealed in AdventureQuest Worlds and confirmed to be true in Dragonfable as well by Queen Pallor, his plan is to open a portal to the Plane of Darkness, which will cause all of Lore, save those tied to said plane like Vayle, to be devoured by extremely powerful darkness elementals.
  • Orcus on His Throne: He probably could have resolved the plot in days if he had done his own dirty work in all the important battles, rather than leaving things to his incompetent minions. But he is apparently too busy. When he does get directly involved, he manages to acquire all the Primal Orbs with no trouble at all and make The Hero look completely ineffectual.
  • Papa Wolf: He is this for his daughter, Gravelynn. It is to the point in Book 3 where he decides not to try and kill the Hero because he/she is Gravelynn's guest, allows them to continue to see her because Gravelynn likes them, threatens to inflict great pain to the Hero and those around him/her if they reveal her existence, and even says that the Hero's silence is returning the favor that they owe him.
  • Person of Mass Destruction: For the majority of Book 1, he was the most powerful being in existence, and could level cities if he wished.
  • Red and Black and Evil All Over: Doom Knight chic. His armor is consistently dark red, and most of his abilities generate black light.
  • Say My Name: In The Dragon Drakath.
    Sepulchure: DRAKATH!!!
  • Unwitting Pawn: To the Mysterious Stranger.
  • Villainous Breakdown: When Drakath pulls a Starscream on him.
  • Was Once a Man: He may have once been human, but that is no longer the case.
  • With Great Power Comes Great Insanity: Becoming a DoomKnight he lost his humanity and his rationality, and ends up as a pawn of the darkness. Though arguably still sane, Sepulchure's sense of identity has clearly degraded from since he was human.
  • Woobie, Destroyer of Worlds: He might be the darkest, evilest, most dangerous villain in the game, but he does have a tragic backstory that explains how he turned out this way, and puts him in a sympathetic light. Turns out he lost his wife Lynaria, and he turned to the Doom Weapons in the hopes of resurrecting her before he became corrupted. This leads to his Alas, Poor Villain moment in the Orb Saga finale, when he gets betrayed by the Mysterious Stranger.

     Necrotic Blade of Doom
Sepulchure's sword.

     Drakath Slugwrath
Leader of the Dark Wolf bandits, son of the evil king that Alteon deposed, and servant to Sepulchure.
  • Adaptation Species Change: In AdventureQuest, Drakath is a dragon, specifically an undead Dracolich by the time we see him. Here he's a mortal human. Justified in that later he fuses with Fluffy in the Orb Saga finale, becoming a dragon with a human mind, before being slain in battle. Later subverted where AQ Drakath was revealed to have once been human and returned to his human form.
  • All There in the Manual: Apparently he has been in a relationship with Robina at some point, but it was never made clear in any of the games (except for a very, very small clue in DragonFable), i.e. when he decides to kill both the Hero and Robina to get the Black Dragon Box. Which seems to be Disproportionate Retribution against a bystander (Robina) if it wasn't because things didn't work out between and he's still hurt by that...
    • Quests in AdventureQuest Worlds imply that he and Robina had something of a relationship, if only in that particular universe
  • Animorphism: When he becomes Drakath The Darkness Dragon
  • Badass Cape: Drakath wears an awesome, if a bit mistreated, purple cape.
  • Badass Boast: In his introduction:
Drakath: My name is DRAKATH! I am the leader of the Darkwolf bandits and the rightful ruler of this land. That box is the key to my throne, and there's no way that I'm letting a peasant like you keep it from me. Stand down or, like the trash that you are, you will be blown away by the winds of my great destiny!
  • Berserk Button: He doesn't like people referring to his throne as Alteon's. It angers him enough that he'll snap at Sepulchure.
  • Big "NO!": In Captain's Orders/Walk Through Fire, as the Wind Orb teleports him away from the Hero.
  • Butt-Monkey: A villainous example, he is comically incompetent and constantly receives the short end of the stick.
  • Catchphrase: "Impossible."
  • Cool Sword: Uses the Marquis Sword, described as an "elegant weapon coveted by royalty."
  • Creepy Shadowed Undereyes
  • Did You Just Punch Out Cthulhu?: Sepulchure isn't really an Eldritch Abomination so much as a Invincible Villain, but seeing Drakath impale him on his own sword definitely evokes this trope.
  • Disney Death: In the Hero's mind, in any case. At the end of Book 1, he turns out to be alive and in an unknown location. For those who play AdventureQuest Worlds, it was pretty obvious he wouldn't die.
  • The Dog Bites Back: For all that he's a jerkass, Drakath has had to put up with Sepulchure's abuse so it's no wonder he'll take the first chance he gets to betray him—which coincides with the one moment Sepulchure lowers his guard.
  • Even Evil Has Standards: After Sepulchure turns Fluffy into a Dracolich, Drakath says: "Master? What have you done?!"
  • The Evil Prince: Most likely because of his father, Drakath is generally believed to be, like, the next Caligula and the Kingdom (seemingly) prefers Alteon to him, believing he'll just turn out like the late tyrant king. (Not that his quest for power and his jerkass tendencies, plus his alliance with a bunch of bandits and then an Evil Overlord, help his reputation at all...)
  • Foreshadowing: During the Wind Orb saga, he comes into contact with the Wind Orb which does Dragon Magic on its own. In the finale, he finally becomes a dragon (somewhat temporarily), finally aligning to his character in AdventureQuest.
  • Fusion Dance: He fuses with Fluffy so that his body can handle the Ultimate Orb's power, and becomes an incredibly powerful Darkness Dragon.
    • Later on, the Mysterious Stranger merges with his, er, 'remains' to become the "Super Mega Ultra Darkness Dracolich".
  • Harmless Villain: Most of the time.
  • Hopeless Boss Fight:
    • When Drakath acquires the Wind Orb, you can fight him in an unbeatable battle. It's not that he's strong or durable, it's just he can't die, as once his health is lowered to 1 HP it doesn't go down any further. And then the Wind Orb will activate and launch a One-Hit Kill attack on you. Some players found he can be defeated with the Pirate Armor, but even so, The Battle Didn't Count.
    • After Drakath fuses with Fluffy and the Ultimate Orb, you can fight him a number of times, but can never beat him, as he possesses insanely high health and can inflict massive damage on you. Only when you team-up with Sepulchure and fight him on your dragon can you beat him.
  • Ineffectual Sympathetic Villain
  • In the Back: In The Ultimate Orb, Drakath stabs Sepulchure with Necrotic Blade of Doom, partially because of The Starscream and The Dog Bites Back reasons.
  • Jerkass
  • Martial Arts Headband
  • Mêlée à Trois: In the Orb Saga Finale, after he betrays Sepulchure, he seizes the Ultimate Elemental Orb himself and fuses with Fluffy. This puts him into conflict with both Sepulchure and the Hero, but the two of them keep fighting each other while taking independent shots at attacking Drakath. Eventually Nythera suggests Sepulchure and the Hero stop fighting each other and fight against their common enemy, leading the two to form an Enemy Mine to take down Drakath together.
  • Not-So-Harmless Villain: After he becomes Drakath the Darkness Dragon and later the Super Mega Ultra Darkness Dracolich.
  • Number Two: For reasons unknown to everyone but Sepulchure, Drakath ends up commanding Sepulchure's army as well as being his most deployed servant, even if he's not always up to the task...
  • One-Winged Angel: As Drakath the Darkness Dragon and later the Super Mega Ultra Darkness Dracolich.
  • Our Dragons Are Different: He can become a Darkness dragon by merging with Fluffy while in possession of the Ultimate Orb in the The Ultimate Orb quest.
  • Purple Is Powerful: A prince whose cape is purple.
  • Quirky Miniboss Squad
  • Revenge: Drakath's primary motivation throughout the story is to have his revenge on King Alteon for usurping his throne. He plans on taking what is rightfully his by obtaining power, which Sepulchure has promised him. On the other hand, he resents the Hero for always getting in his way, whether to achieve power or comply with Sepulchure's orders.
  • The Rival: To The Hero.
  • Royal Blood: The rightful heir to Kingdom of Greenguard who went into exile from Swordhaven following the death of his tyrant father, King Slugwrath, and wants his throne back.
  • Smug Snake: He talks big, but he can't back up his word and constantly gets outclassed by the Hero much to his shock.
  • The Starscream: Most likely because it had become evident Sepulchure never intended to grant him the power he asked, or because he had already been abused enough, Drakath betrays him. Not to become the leader of the Shadowscythe, though, but to obtain the power he needed to have his kingdom, his revenge.
  • Traitor Shot: In Sepulchure's Fortress, emphasis falls on his smug smile as Sepulchure gloats to the Hero about creating the Ultimate Orb in the next few minutes.
  • Trash Talk: Drakath is particularly prone to this.

    Fluffy
One of two dragons that hatch from the eggs in the White and Black Dragon Boxes — the dragon from the Black Dragon Box is destined to destroy a world, while the dragon from the White Dragon Box is destined to save the world. Due to a mix-up, Sepulchure and The Hero end up with the wrong dragons. Their attempts to Screw Destiny are foiled by a Prophecy Twist — The Hero's Dragon destroys the planet-sized Super Mega Ultra Darkness Dracolich while Fluffy sacrifices itself to save the world.

    Gravelynn
Sepulchure's daughter.
  • Action Girl: She seems to be growing up into this, as she has a wooden sword, a pretend costume of leather armor, and even made a heroic pose at her and The Hero's hangout when they last met her.
  • Adaptational Hairstyle Change: In comparison to her AQW counterpart. Even as a child, AQW Gravelynn had shoulder length hair, while in DF Lynn has boyish short hair.
  • Adaptational Heroism:
    • This is a substantially less evil version of Gravelyn compared to her AdventureQuest Worlds counterpart, as she is still an innocent child acting as a Morality Pet to Sepulchure and has yet to descend into villainy.
    • She outright averts her AQW counterpart's villainy when she reappears as a girl named Lynn who befriends the Hero.
  • Age Lift: Her age doesn't match up with the other children present in AdventureQuest Worlds. Ash and Aria are pretty much the same age in that game as they are in Book 1 DragonFable, however Gravelyn is a young adult in AQW, but an infant in Book 1.
  • Canon Immigrant: She was first introduced in AdventureQuest Worlds before making an appearance in DragonFable as an infant.
  • Daddy's Little Villain: Is loved by her father, who is one of the most evil beings on the face of Lore.
  • Family Theme Naming: Like her father, her name is themed after graves and death.
  • Innocent Blue Eyes: Has big blue eyes highlighting her innocence.
  • Morality Pet: To Sepulchure.
  • She Is All Grown Up: She's grown up a fair bit by the time she returns in Book 3 as Lynn, although she's still a child.
  • What Happened to the Mouse?:
    • She was still on board Shadowfall when it crashed, so it's left uncertain what this Gravelyn's fate was. Made even more troubling after Sepulchure came back as Amadeus.
    • No longer a concern, as she reappears as a young girl named "Lynn" in the quest "My Spot", and even befriends The Hero, listening to their stories of adventure.
  • Younger and Hipper: Much younger than in AdventureQuest Worlds, where she is a young adult. Even though several other children in DragonFable are the same age in both games.

Necropolis

    Noxus
The Dean of Necromancy University. The Hero has to stop him from building a massive undead army for Sepulchure.
  • Arc Villain: He served as The Heavy during the Darkness Orb Saga, and returns as the main antagonist of Frostval 2008 and again in Hero's Heart Day 2011.
  • The Dragon: One of Sepulchure's generals who manufactures his undead armies for him.
  • Dark Is Evil: To be expected from a Nercomancer working for the Shadowscythe.
  • Early-Installment Weirdness: This game marks Noxus' first appearance in Artix Entertainment, and is the only entry where he remains a very much living human. In all subsequent games like AdventureQuest Worlds and AdventureQuest 3D he appears as an undead lich.
  • Evil Gloating: Noxus, thinking Vayle won't hear him, gloats in front of Artix and the Hero about how he casually set up the destruction of their village with the Green Mist and started Vayle on the path of necromancy to use her powers over Darkness for himself. Cue an enraged Vayle, who decides she won't be used anymore.
  • Evil Mentor: To Vayle.
  • Good Scars, Evil Scars: Noxus has a pretty nasty scar over his right eye.
  • Hate Sink: Noxus while appearing as a loyal servant to Sepulchure and seemingly kind to his students, is later revealed to be vile to the core. He had orchestrated the death of Artix and Vayle's village, before tricking Vayle to work for him, where in reality he was just using her and had no intent to revive her brother. Later upon returning, he turns all of Frostvale's citizens into coal and intends to burn them in his furnace. He also tries to use modified undead to absorb Life Drain people on Hero's Hearts Day.
  • The Heavy: He is the Arc Villain of the Darkness Orb Saga, but it's made clear there's someone above him, in this case Sepulchure.
  • Laughably Evil: Some of his later appearances (Frostval 2008, Hero's Heart Day 2011) are Played for Laughs, such as his shock when Liam Liam clings onto him in fear, or his humiliating defeat by being dogpiled by Moglins
  • Legion of Doom: In Thankstaking 2017 and 2018 he is a member of the "Felonious Five" along with Joules, Sally, Zorbak, and The Nix.
  • Manipulative Bastard: Knowing that the Darkness Orb's power was grafted into a little girl, he created a deadly disease (the Green Mist) to wipe out her village, appear as her savior and tell her that, with necromancy, she'll be able to resurrect her brother. Being too young to know any better, she decides to do everything to have her brother back and is manipulated into creating an undead army.
  • Necromancer: The Dean of Necro U and Master of the Necropolis.
  • The Necrocracy: The Necropolis is a City of the Dead serving as an Academy for necromancers, and Noxus is the Dean of Necro U.
  • Power Floats: He hovers about all the time like most necromancers.
  • Sorcerous Overlord: Necromancer Overlord to be precise, but his role as Master of the Necropolis otherwise fits quite well.
  • Spared by the Adaptation: He has the exact same history as his AdventureQuest Worlds counterpart, up until the Final Battle against the Hero, Artix, and Vayle. DragonFable Noxus survives the encounter and manages to escape, while AQW Noxus is killed only to be revived years later as a lich.
  • The Svengali: To Vayle.
  • Treacherous Advisor: To Lady Vayle.
  • Villain Decay: He was a legitimate threat during the Darkness Orb being responsible for a slew of atrocities and treated as one of the Hero's nastiest foes. But later appearances turned him into a joke who was constantly humiliated and hard to take seriously.
  • You Monster!: The Hero gives a speech to Noxus when he turns the Frostvale Moglins into coal in Frostval 2008.
Noxus: I plan on replacing it with my OWN celebration in My honor. I'm going to call it No X-Mas. What do you think?
The Hero: I think that's insane and horrible...
    Noxus: Thank you.
The Hero: No man, I mean... BURNING coal statues of moglins to gather their magic... that's VILE!

    Sepulchure's spies
Several spies that Sepulchure planted throughout Lore to keep watch and/or steal the Elemental Orbs.

They are as follows:

  • Grams, the Falconreach spy, see her folder here
  • Gary the Ice Elf, the Ice Orb spy, see his folder here
  • Captain Hugo, the Water Orb spy, see his folder here
  • Pinja, the Wind Orb spy.
  • "Gadget", the Energy Orb spy.
  • Sha'Rae, the Light Orb spy.

  • The Mole: Sepulchure had them placed in key locations awaiting his orders to strike.
  • Rag Tag Bunch Of Misfits: After Sepulchure has them steal the Orbs, they all assemble at Sepulchure's new base despite their vastly different background and abilities.
  • Walking Spoiler: Several of them started off as minor or background characters who were revealed much later to be a spy working for Sepulchure.

    En & Tropy
Two revenants that serve as Elite Mooks to Sepulchure that are introduced during the Willowshire/Earth Orb quest chain. They eventually fuse with Gorgok to become the Entropy Dragon.
  • Dark Is Evil: They serve the Shadowscythe and are dark creatures that are black in color, and utilize dark elemental damage.
  • Elite Mooks: There are many Entropic minions in Sepulchure's army that are stronger than the average undead skeletons.
  • Humanoid Abomination: Strange zombie-like creatures that decay everything they touch, revive upon death, and able to turn humans into creatures like them
  • Fusion Dance: With Gorgok.
  • Giant Space Flea from Nowhere: Even though they're unique and more powerful than the average undead flunky, what they are is never explained beforehand or after the Earth Orb quest chain. Geo did briefly explain on the forums after that they are the result of what happens when the Chaos Weaver curse from Raven Loss interacts with the Shadow Scythe virus, but this is never explained in-game or elaborated elsewhere.
  • Lovecraftian Super Power: They have Resurrective Immortality, have the ability to decay everything they touch, can fuse with creatures they deem worthy, and can turn others into themselves like The Virus.
  • Punny Name: Their names form the word "Entropy", signifying their nature of decaying.
  • Resurrective Immortality: They are very difficult to defeat, due to continuously reviving upon being killed.
  • Revenant Zombie: The Hero classes them as "Revenants" due to their nature of continuously reviving after being defeated.
  • The Virus: Their exact nature is never explored, but one thing is clear is contact with their essence is able to convert others into beings like themselves.

    Akriloth Jr.
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/akriloth_jr.JPG

The child of Akriloth who hatched from his egg. After Xan and Dracolich!Akriloth killed Lady Celestia, they took him. He was seen newly hatched beside Sepulchure after his "duel" with the Hero.
