Ambiguously Bi / Western Animation

Go To

Ambiguously Bi in Western Animation.

A No Recent Examples rule applies to this trope. Examples for episodic works shouldn't be added until end of season for the season introducing the ambiguity (or after 3 months, for episodic works without seasons). This is to allow time for the story to develop the character and resolve ambiguity. There is no waiting time for non-episodic works.

  • 6teen: Wayne didn’t seem to mind it when Jonsey handed him a photocopy of his butt while also aiming to get a crack at Jonsey’s little black book.
  • The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron, Boy Genius: Even though Sheen's main love interest tends to be Libby and has shown clear attraction towards Beautiful Gorgeous, he has also shown very brief attraction towards Jimmy, Carl, and Jet Fusion. In "Ultra Sheen" after Jimmy offers to allow Sheen to test out his new Game Pyramid invention, he kisses Jimmy's hand and says he loves him in response. In "My Big Fat Spy Wedding" Sheen sees Jet Fusion as he is preparing for his wedding and calls him handsome. In "King of Mars" Sheen wishes Carl a Happy Martian New Year and kisses him in response. In addition to these examples, Sheen has also shown time and time again that he is very comfortable showing off his feminine side by crossdressing as seen in episodes like "Who's Your Mommy?" and "The League of Villains".
  • Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog: Robotnik's made two robotic wives for himself in two different episodes, and as seen in "Best Hedgehog," he's been obsessed with a good-hearted woman named Lucinda for decades, but when D.U.F.U.S. forces him to kiss its creator, Dr. Quark, on the lips to "make up" with his newfound rival, the other mad doctor spits and wipes his lips in disgust, while Robotnik smiles and even blushes, indicating that this act made him feel rather bashful, or he genuinely liked being forced to kiss Dr. Quark.
  • Adventure Time: Finn the Human had a long time Precocious Crush on Bubblegum and a relationship with Flame Princess, but is either bisexual or very comfortable in his sexuality. In "The Hard Easy" he saves a cursed frog prince by kissing him, something that the prince says "few guys would do", and Finn nonchalantly shrugs off kissing a man because he's "comfortable with himself like that". In "Davey" he makes a secret identity for himself and goes out to dinner with a guy, then leaves his hero life behind to build a shack and live with his date. He hints that he has "repressed emotional feelings" for Cinnamon Bun, has kissed (on the cheek, granted) and cuddled Ice King, and admits to watching Jake sleep. Finn reached puberty without ever having met somebody of the same species as him, so it's quite plausible that his sexuality might be a bit... undirected.
  • The Amazing World of Gumball:
    • Gumball Watterson has a girlfriend he plans to marry, but obsesses over his once ex nemesis Rob in a way remiscent of someone trying to cope with a break-up so much he has to apologize to her for ignoring her, really wants his butt smacked by Tobias just so he can complain about it, is twelve but knows about experimenting in college, dip kissed a guy out of frustration and there's his whole shtick with Hot Dog Guy that might've involved kissing of all things. Masami and Teri even had a Side Bet that he was bi in "The Uncle". In "The Shippening" he even says, "Looks like I didn't stop at women".
    • Even though the living balloon Alan Keane has a girlfriend, "The Upgrade" shows that he has no qualms about being married to the male flower Leslie, though this can be interpreted as part of Alan's personality of being an All-Loving Hero. In "The Storm," Gumball has to manually reinflate him. Gumball looks annoyed afterward, but Alan was walking on air.
  • American Dad!: Despite his endless Quest for Sex with girls, Steve has shown several instances of possible attraction to guys. He has been visibly seduced and kissed by Roger several times, and has even openly kissed Snot as an "oath of friendship". In 'Railroaded', Roger gets new friends for Steve to improve Stan's image; Steve scoffs at the idea until he sees his new "friends" are all hunky, handsome young men upon which he enthusiastically takes off his shirt and jumps into the arms of one of them to carry him off. However, when Stan just asked him if he were gay with Snot, he denied it... with a quick "ugh" and a limp wrist. In a possible future, he and Snot are married.
  • Amphibia: Her enamored looking reaction to who she thought was Chuck, calling all the cast of "Suspicion Island" beautiful and being impressed with Loggle's new muscular physique are the only indications that Anne Boonchuy isn't a lesbian. Otherwise, her interactions with her two best female friends Sasha and Marcy have heavy amounts of hugging and concern that border on more than friendship, and outside that, stumbling upon photos of a younger Mrs. Croaker causes her to get Distracted by the Sexy.
  • Animaniacs: While Yakko is mostly attracted to women, he has kissed a few men on occasion. Yakko once willingly kissed Dr. Scratchansniff (who was really trying to kiss his girlfriend) on the lips, embraced him, and said, "I didn't know you cared." Another episode revealed that Yakko wears women's stockings and garters (though this could have just been a Cutaway Gag). Not to mention that lavender is his favorite color (lavender is a color often associated with gay men) and he is ambidextrous according to Word of God.
  • Archer:
    • Woodhouse had an obvious, Ho Yay-laden crush on his WWI squadmate Reggie Thistleton, but also finds Malory "drop-dead sexy".
    • Cheryl used to date Dr. Krieger and has never been in a relationship with a woman, but gets off to being strangled and beaten, regardless of who's doing it, and may have flirted with Lana in Season 4. She also seriously dug the Queen Kong vibe that Pam gave off after the latter got high on cocaine and carried her off as a hostage.
    • Ray identifies as gay and generally only shows interest in men. However, he was once seemingly offered an opportunity to have sex with Lana and tried to go for it. When questioned about this, he merely replied "Nobody's that gay."
    • And Lana agrees to have sex with Pam in the same episode. Although, Lana has to pretend that Pam is Alex Karras to get through it.
  • As Told by Ginger:
    • Courtney Gripling canonically likes boys but is also unusually fond of Ginger Foutely.
    • Dodie develops a crush on a male foreign exchange student and goes to the dance with a boy but also Dodie seems to be a bit too obsessed with both Ginger and Courtney. Any time Ginger or herself gets an opportunity to be within five feet of Courtney, Dodie freaks out, sometimes almost fainting, such as when she got partnered with her in chemistry class in "The 'A' Ticket". She has a "Ginger wig" and sings Ginger's "Copper-Colored Ponies" song in front of her bedroom mirror while wearing it. Dodie is also very against Ginger spending more time with her boyfriend than her.
    • Miranda obviously likes boys (and even dated Darren) but she often comes across as a jealous girlfriend when it comes to Courtney's friendship with Ginger. She also called a girl cute in one episode before Courtney told her to focus. Another episode had her act disgusted when Courtney hugged her as well.
  • Avatar: The Last Airbender:
    • Azula has tons of Les Yay with Ty Lee and Mai and she freaks out after they betray her but she also has subtext with her brother as well trying (and failing) to seduce a guy at a party, and she generates Foe Romance Subtext with everyone regardless of gender.
    • Ty Lee seems to show an interest in Sokka, but also seems to show an interest in Azula. On Ember Island, she prefers Azula's company to the company of several attractive boys who really like her. She also tells Azula that she's the smartest, prettiest, most perfect girl in the world. More than once. This is also muddled up by implications that Ty Lee wasn't Azula's actual friend and was just sucking up to her the entire time, and the fact that the comics show Ty Lee as extremely traumatized by Azula's "friendship".
    • Zuko went on a date with Jin while under the alias Lee. He also dated Mai for some time until their breakup before they got back together again. However, he was also shown to have tons of Ho Yay with not one, not two, but THREE different boys. Zuko and Aang have been shown dancing and standing back to back in the middle of a tornado of RAINBOW fire underneath two dragons forming a heart. The scene of Zuko and Aang’s reactions to the Ember Island Players' overly exaggerated portrayal of the Blue Spirit rescuing Aang (not helped by the fact that the actor playing Aang…who is a woman…exclaiming “My hero” before being carried away by the actor portraying the Blue Spirit…in a way that is reminiscent of a prince rescuing a princess) heavily parallels the scene of Zuko and Katara’s reactions to their actors portraying a romance between each other. With Zuko and Sokka, there is the infamous tent scene. In one episode, Chit Sang lampshaded their closeness by saying something along the lines of “If you two are done cuddling…” Later on in the same episode, there is a scene of Zuko still holding Sokka’s hand for a few more seconds even after he saved the latter from falling off the gondola. He also has his moments with Jet such as them standing together by themselves on the deck of the ferry bonding over both of them being outcasts and how they should have each other’s backs instead of being alone.
  • Batman: The Animated Series:
    • About as close as you can get on a family-friendly cartoon. Poison Ivy (Pamela Isley) dated Harvey Dent (before he became Two-Face). She kidnapped a man to clone him and use the clone as her husband, but it's never revealed if she genuinely was attracted to him or their "marriage" was just part of the backdrop of her new, allegedly normal life. She also has a habit of flirting with Batman, though she does it even while trying to kill him. All this while she occasionally has a thing going on with Harley Quinn whenever she temporarily breaks up with The Joker.
    • While Harley Quinn (Dr. Harleen Quinzel) is in love with the Joker, her interactions with Poison Ivy suggest that there's a little more than friendship between the two. In "Harley and Ivy" alone, they are shown together wearing only long shirts and (maybe) underwear underneath it. In "Holiday Knights" They are in a hotel together wearing very little clothing and there seems to only be one bed. Word of Gay confirms that there was a relationship between the two, but they had to keep it ambiguous to appease the censors.
  • Batman: The Brave and the Bold: Poison Ivy (Pamela Isley) is interested in making Batman her mate while being a leader of an all-female team called the Flower Children and has a close friendship with Harley Quinn hint at this trope.
  • Beavis And Butthead:
    • The two main protagonists, Beavis and Butt-Head, are Lovable Sex Maniacs who constantly try to "score" with "chicks". But they also show a lot of interest in Todd and hearts even float around each of their heads sometimes when they see him. Beavis also got wood when staring at a bunch of boys on a bus one time. For Butt-Head, there was that one scene in the film where the chief’s assistant, Bork and an ATF Agent were searching him up and down his body for the unit. As they did this, Butt-Head appeared to be letting out pleasurable sounds. Hmm... Furthermore, Beavis and Butt-Head also get a ton of Ho Yay with each other. Some examples include when they changed in the same changing room in "Sporting Goods" and in "Beware of the Butt" when Butt-Head began making comments on Beavis's rear end but changed the subject when Beavis questioned him about it. In the film, when the duo were on the verge of dying in the boiling hot desert, Butt-Head has flashbacks of his life and all he thinks about is him and Beavis growing up together. Aww...
    • Cassandra gets very little screen time but little hints about her sexuality do get thrown in. She is a big fan of openly lesbian singer K.D. Lang but she also shows interest in older men and there are hints that she has a crush on Mr. Van Driessen.
  • Ben 10:
    • Ben Tennyson has had several heterosexual relationships and marries a woman in the canonical future, but has tons of Ho Yay with Kevin as well as his partner Rook. Word of God even says that Ben's greatest fear is not peacocks or clowns, but whether Kevin and Rook like each other more than him. Huh.
    • His cousin Gwen is Kevin's girlfriend in the later series and that's the only romantic relationship we see her in, but her recurring nemesis Charmcaster's jealousy and competition with Gwen changes into something resembling Pseudo-Romantic Friendship (complete with some slightly catty compliments and Gwen being annoyed that both her cousin and boyfriend find Charmcaster "hot"), especially once her Dark and Troubled Past is revealed. In the final series and Charmcaster's last canon appearance, Gwen is hopeful that she can start a real friendship with her now that she's trapped in her own magic pouch and Gwen is basically acting as her parole officer, which admittedly isn't too far from what she and Ben did with Kevin.
  • Dana from Biatches makes it very clear she's into guys, but has a habit of touching her friend Julia in private places and lifting her skirt, supposedly in a purely playful way.
  • Bob's Burgers: All of the Belchers have shown some interest in the same sex as themselves, with the sole exception of Louise (whose few hints of romance have been exclusively with boys). Their level of interest ranges from only a small hint in just one episode (Tina and Linda) to outright admitting interest in multiple episodes (Bob)note .
    • Despite being Happily Married to Linda, Bob Belcher's referred to himself as "Mostly straight", admitted the handsome deli guy who thought he was gay was out of his league, and only objected to a jab about marrying a guy with the condition that he wouldn't take his last name. Knowing Linda, she probably doesn't mind.
    • Linda Belcher told Ms. Jacobson to her face that she was pretty, but her being drunk at the time makes it unclear whether she was flirting or not.
    • While Tina's definitely interested in boys, she also showed an interest in female nude scenes in a shark horror movie and fell in love with the shark animatronic despite knowing it was female. In "Crawl Space" she doesn't seem to have any objections to the possibility of a threesome with both a male and female zombie.
    • Gene has reciprocated feelings for Courtney Wheeler (although they broke up near the end of that episode), which means he likely does have an interest in girls, but he's also fantasized about having a man draw him naked (a la Titanic) in "Mutiny on the Windbreaker" and was very enthusiastic about the idea of kissing Jimmy Jr. in "Sheesh! Cab, Bob?"
  • BoJack Horseman:
    • Mr. Peanutbutter is a serial monogamist who's only dated women, and was totally devoted to his ex-wife, but he's perfectly happy to passionately make out with BoJack under the guise of restoring their friendship, along with being a little too clingy towards him. He also has a considerable amount of Ho Yay with Todd.
    • BoJack himself, although more subtle. He's a serial womanizer who sleeps with a lot of women. Yet, when Herb, friend of his, was outed during The '90s, he asked him with all the sincerity he could muster if his friends have ever done a "party train" or a "fun circle" since he would be into that. Then, there's also his reluctant (he says) kiss with Mr. Peanutbutter.
    • Sarah Lynn's sexuality is not brought up enough to get a clear picture; two things stand out though, she dated Andrew Garfield on-off for a while during Season 1 and she's got a libertine attitude.
    • Skinny Gina, the stripper whale working in Whale World agrees to talk with BoJack and Diane about Nadia, a recently deceased co-worker...but it's working hours, so they'll need to buy a lap dance. BoJack and Diane agree and Skinny Gina proceeds to tell everything while servicing BoJack.....and Diane.
  • Brady's Beasts: Brady's monster. She has a baby who resembles her, suggesting that she mated at some point, and at the end of "How to heal a Howler's heart", she joins the crowd of smitten monsters who arrive to admire the (female) Howler.
  • Philly Phil from Class of 3000 is implied to have a crush on Kim, and even had a girlfriend in "Free Philly." However, he's displayed... questionable reactions towards Grayson Brooding and appears quite close to (male) friends Li'l D and Eddie.
  • In Cleopatra in Space, Cleo herself is attracted to Zaid, yet she's also very fond of Yosira. She also has quite a bit of Les Yay with Akila; At the end of one episode, she even kissed her on the lips while gleefully explaining "I LOVE YOU!" and hugging her, prompting a response back of "Oh.... my." In episode 23, she develops a crush on the pirate queen Amsaja, fully confirming her bisexuality.
    • When creator Mike Maihack was asked if Cleopatra was intentionally written as a bisexual, he denied it, but said she "would put her life down on the line for Akila more than anyone else".
  • Clone High: JFK is a ladies' man, but he grows attracted to Joan's male disguise, "John Dark." Cleo, herself a dude magnet, doesn't seem too put out about almost having sex with Joan.
  • Many of the characters in Codename: Kids Next Door:
    • Numbuh Two flirts with girls often, but also has a fair amount of Ho Yay with the male Numbuh Four.
    • Numbuh Three has an obvious crush on Numbuh Four, but also calls other girls pretty VERY often and went on a date with Numbuh One's girlfriend (It Makes Sense in Context).
    • Numbuh Five has been shown to have crushes on boys, but she also wears suits to formal events when all the other girls wear dresses and has her fair share of tension with her rival Henrietta von Marzipan.
  • Bunny from Courage the Cowardly Dog has a boyfriend. However she also has a very close relationship with her best friend Kitty, to the point where her boyfriend became jealous and tore them apart, that is all but stated to be romantic.
  • Cow and Chicken: Flem and Earl. In addition to always being together all the time, the two had an Imagine Spot in "Lost at Sea" where they were homecoming queen and king, respectively. On the other hand, they're both madly in love with Cow, and in the same episode share another Imagine Spot where they both marry Cow, as well as have kids, grow old and die together.
  • DC Super Hero Girls:
    • From the times Diana Prince (Wonder Woman)'s interacted with Steve Trevor, there's some light ship teasing between them, usually giving compliments. However, she has quite a few interactions with her friends that can be interpreted as intimate, such as the roommate situation with Harley in "Roomies" or the number of group hugs she takes part in, like in "Electric Charge". Her interactions with Batgirl and Supergirl in the Lego projects would not feel out of place in a marriage. Wonder Woman is bisexual in the comics, but it's unknown if that also applies to this incarnation.
    • Some scenes show Caitlin Snow (Frost) eagerly hanging out with Flash. Though we also have episodes like "Frost's Bite" and "Jetsetters", where she has intimate moments with Miss Martian and Wonder Woman respectively, particularly hanging out in the sauna with the former and being concerned when she's frozen in the latter.
    • Sandra Woosan (Lady Shiva) and Flash have a ship tease moment in her Hero Of The Month episode, but she's also shown to have some really emotional moments with Big Barda.
    • Mera's shown blushing when she and Aquaman accidentally touch each other when giving him his trident back. At the same time, she's shown to really want to show Wonder Woman that she's a good person. What really sells it is a flashback in the Legends of Atlantis movie, where she unhesitatingly steps in to save Wonder Woman from drowning, and found just saving her satisfying enough even without proper credit. Also, when she produces an oxygen bubble for Bumblebee so she can breathe underwater, she blows it out as a kiss.
  • DC Super Hero Girls 2019: It's obvious that Wonder Woman (Diana Prince) has a huge crush on Steve Trevor, yet she also has quite a bit of chemistry with Tatsu Yamashiro.
  • Mandark from Dexter's Laboratory is in love with Dee-Dee. However, in one beach episode the ending is clearly romantic tinged as he talks with a boy then walks off with him, holding each others shoulders.
  • Doug:
    • Roger seems to be almost obsessed with the titular character but also has a crush on Judy.
    • Patti hints at possibly being attracted to Doug and in "Doug's a Big Fat Liar", Patty goes to a dance with "Melvin", really Judy in drag. Seems innocent enough, but when the whole ruse is revealed, Patty isn't even upset! She even says "Melvin" is the best dancer at the hoedown and continues to dance with Judy throughout the rest of the episode. Also, they share Judy's room in an episode of the Disney series.
  • Dragons: Riders of Berk:
    • "Big Man on Berk" has Snotlout completely smitten by Thor Bonecrusher (who is just Fishlegs suffering from Identity Amnesia). Astrid, the most long-standing recipient of Snotlout's unwanted affection, is delighted by this development and cites Love Makes You Dumb when Hiccup wonders why Snotlout allowed Bonecrusher to drag him into one of his more dangerous schemes. Once Fishlegs reverts back to his normal identity, Snotlout kisses him on the cheek and then leaves in tears.
    • Ruffnut is attracted to Hiccup (and later Eret and both Fishlegs and Snotlout) but also shows interest in Heather during the "Have Dragon, Will Travel" two-parter.
    • Dagur shows a lot of interest in Hiccup, but ends up marrying Mala in the series finale. There is a scene in an episode where Dagur asks Hiccup to be his best man, which is staged exactly like a proposal.
  • DuckTales (2017): When the showrunner was asked how many girlfriends Launchpad has had, his reply referred to "significant others" and avoided using gendered pronouns. Launchpad would later list a clone of himself amongst his exes.
  • Ed, Edd n Eddy:
    • Double D was shown to go all Love Makes You Dumb over Nazz like most of the other boys in the neighborhood, and some scenes between Double D and Eddy in The Movie just scream Unresolved Sexual Tension. (Plus Eddy's brother thought Double Dee was a girl and came to the conclusion that he was Eddy's "girlfriend".) In "Key to My Ed" Ed is dancing around, grabs Eddy and slams him into Double D, the two catching each other in a dancing position; Double Dee's only remark is a smirk and, "What? No flowers?". Also, his only problem with Ed trying to kiss him under the mistletoe was that someone might be watching.
    • Jimmy was Ambiguously Gay to begin with and appears to exhibit gay tendencies towards other guys, especially towards Kevin, but seems to have a crush on Sarah.
    • Ed seems to think Girls Have Cooties ("Yucky, squishy, MUSHY GIRLS, Double D!") He doesn't have this problem with Nazz, since he seems to have a crush on her like Edd and Eddy. Also in some episodes ("Honor Thy Ed", "Key to My Ed") he doesn't mind the Kankers advances and seems less repulsed by them than Edd and Eddy. There's also the moments of ambiguous Ho Yay towards Edd and Eddy.
  • The Fairly OddParents!:
    • Juandissimo. His entire role revolves around him having an unrequited love for Wanda but The Exciting Middle Part has a scene where he and Cupid act like a couple on a date.
    • Most male characters who aren't just Ambiguously Gay give off this vibe from time to time. Timmy's Dad, Adam West, Chester, AJ, Cosmo and even Timmy himself all have conspicuous Ho Yay moments, despite also showing attraction to the ladies.
    • Nancy the Wrestler has a son, implying she has or had a wife, but she's clearly attracted to men as she becomes Francis' girlfriend.
  • Family Guy:
    • Peter Griffin is married to Lois is mostly shown to be heterosexual. In one episode where Peter starts spending time with Bill Clinton the two hit it off right away, but Peter spends so much time with him that it damages his relationship with Lois. By the end of the episode both of them have been physically seduced by Clinton, the last scene being a shot of Peter lying in bed next to Clinton, and Peter states: "Boy you are good. You are really good." In another episode, Peter and Quagmire are just about to have sex in order to convince a prostitute that Quagmire is gay. They stop at the last minute, and Quagmire admits he's not gay, but Peter adds "Well I'm something, because I've been at full sail this whole time."
    • Lois is married to Peter occasionally hints at having had same-sex experiences in the past. One episode revealed that she had a girlfriend in college. When Peter ranted on TV about how All Women Are Prudes and lead men on with no intention of ever sleeping with them, Lois (who was watching at home) responded, "He's right! Women are such teases! That's why I went back to men."
    • Meg likes boys, but has also hinted being attracted to Connie. There was also the episode where she pretended to be a lesbian to join her school's Lesbian Alliance club and actually have friends for once, but confessed she was straight once she couldn't go through with actually having sex with a girl. However, said girl proceeded to berate Meg for "choosing" to be straight. When Meg replied that sexual orientation is not a choice, the girl said that only applies to guys, while girls do get to choose, so apparently all girls and women are bi in the Family Guy-verse. Or it could just be implying that all the other girls in the club were faking their lesbianism for the sake of popularity too. Then again, in a later episode, Stewie time-travels to the future and discovers that Meg is now Ron, so maybe that girl was telling the truth after all.
    • Stewie Griffin has had a lot of moments that were considered by many fans to be gay as he apparently showed attraction to several men, which is easily dismissed since he is just a one-year-old baby. However, he has fallen in love with girls, including Olivia. It's probably safest to say that his sexual orientation is just whatever is funniest at that particular moment.
    • Surprisingly enough, Glenn Quagmire being a lady's man, has some Ho Yay moments with Peter. Like how when Peter was upset he asked Peter if he could "drag his ball sac across his face" (it's something he does to all his lady friends) and later willingly got naked in front of him and showed him his penis while also calling them "buddies" that should "have fun". Another scene in the episode "Mr and Mrs. Stewie" had them having to share a bed and Peter hugged Quagmire close from behind making it look like they were spooning and pulled Quagmire's boxers down with his foot because they were too starchy which Quagmire seemed to be fine with. He also seemed willing to lay naked with Peter and Lois when they got nude while doing drugs and said "Room for one more?" However, he did act disgusted when he and Peter kissed to try to prove to a prostitute that he was gay. And in another episode when Stewie places Quagmire, Joe, Brian, and Peter in an alternate reality where they were the only people left Quagmire says that at some point they would have to repopulate the planet. Brian pointed out that there were no woman and Quagmire said "Let's see what happens" leaving it ambiguous as to whether they should wait and see if any woman would show up or if they would try sex with each other.
    • Jeff, a son of a nudist family, was definitely into Meg but also smiled happily when Peter got naked in front of him.
  • Futurama:
    • Bender has dated, flirted with, and even slept with several robot women in the series but his obsession with soap opera actor Calculon is filled to the brim with Ho Yay. His friendship with Fry is also a funny one as Bender often gets depressed and weepy when Fry does something that makes Bender feel that Fry is abandoning him.
    • Doctor Zoidberg also shows a lot of this as he was a little disappointed after Leela failed to marry him to Fry in space and there was some Ho Yay that he exhibited towards Farnsworth and Hermes. However, he has flirted with Edna and an unnamed jellyfish-like alien and near the end of the series, he starts a romance with Marianne. To make it more confusing, Zoidberg has been shown to be unable to tell the difference between male and female humans.
    • Amy Wong also qualifies as she is in a romance with Kif and flirts with a lot of guys but she kissed Leela in "Bender's Game" while they are in an alternate reality that resembles Lord Of The Rings.
    • Leela has Fry as her canon love interest, having an on and off relationship with him and dated several men, yet she enjoyed making out with Amy in "Bender's Game" while in the alternate reality of Cornwood. Whether that extends beyond that dimension is debatable but has not been seen.
    • Zapp Brannigan has flirted with and slept with Leela and Amy and enjoyed getting Snu-Snu from several Amazonian women, yet he apparently went on a date with Richard Nixon's Head in "The Thief Of Baghead". He seemed pretty comfortable with the idea of sleeping with "Lee Lemon" before finding out "he" was really Leela in disguise. He is also not ashamed to show nudity in front of other men such as Kif. Zapp does not even cover himself in front of other men whenever he is naked and some of the orders he gives out to Kif have some Ho Yay in them.
    • Fry has an on and off relationship with Leela, dated Michelle before being frozen, dated other girls including Colleen, and unknowingly slept with his own grandma in Roswell in 1947. However, Fry has shown affection and love towards an alien being named Yivo, who has masculine and feminine characteristics but sounds more like a guy.
  • Gravity Falls: Lil' Gideon has an obvious crush on Mabel Pines, with some of his evil schemes being attempts to winner over. However, his campy and flamboyant nature, combined with the fact that he displayed some Homoerotic Subtext towards some of the male prisoners during his time in jail, seems to give him some traits of a camp bi.
  • The Great North: Wolf definitely loves Honeybee, but openly shows attraction to men at certain points. This ranges from accidental double-entendres to outright saying men are attractive.
Wolf: "He is the hottest guy to ever set foot in Lone Moose."
  • The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy: Billy has feelings for girls, but he also doesn't seem to mind the idea of having Grim be more than his "friend".
  • As in other examples featuring this pairing, Harley Quinn (2019) wrestles with this - although in this case, it's mostly only ambiguous is Ivy is bisexual or is a lesbian (Harley is probably bi, with her Mad Love for the Joker and her admitted feelings for Ivy. It's unclear if she's had other same-sex attractions in the past of if it's just Ivy). Ivy seems to be trying to convince herself she has genuine love for Kiteman in early seasons. She also demonstrates a crush on Catwoman. The most likely conclusion is that they're both bisexual.
  • Hazbin Hotel:
    • During a news report in the pilot, Tom Trench makes a joke about lusting for Cherri Bomb, who shows a lot of skin in her outfit as she appears in the footage. A short while afterwards, Charlie mentions Cherri Bomb's protege Angel Dust, and Tom Trench immediately recognizes Angel Dust as a porn star.
Charlie: Oh, just someone named... Angel Dust.
      Tom Trench: The porn star?
Katie Killjoy: You fucking would, Tom!
      (Tom hides in embarrassment)
    • During the titular song of "Welcome to Heaven", St. Peter says that "Everyone is hot" in Heaven, while being surrounded by gorgeous women and hunks. Whether this is a sign of him being attracted to both guys and gals or simply appreciating their beauty isn't made clear.
  • Hey Arnold!: Gerald definitely likes girls, especially Phoebe, but in Hey Arnold! The Movie, he seems to be infatuated with the main antagonist Scheck, since a Running Gag has him constantly mentioning how good he looks in his suits.
  • Jem:
    • Kimber has multiple casual male love interests and almost marries one of them before copping out. She also had a very close friendship with Stormer that consisted of holding hand on the beach and generally acting like lovers. The comic reboot depicts her as being lesbian and has her as a couple with Stormer.
    • When introduced, Eric mentions that Minx can have "anyone she wants". He used a neutral term, implying that Minx has seduced women as well.
  • Johnny Test:
    • Gil occasionally has an attraction for girls but seems much more interested in Johnny.
    • Dukey also comes off as this as he wore biker leather in his first appearance, cross dresses, and at one point, almost humped Johnny's leg. However, Dukey has shown attraction to females such as Missy and an alternate female version of himself.
    • Johnny himself qualifies for this as he has some Ship Tease with his rival, Sissy. However, he has cross dressed on occassion and he agreed to go on a date with Gil in one episode.
  • Kaeloo:
    • Stumpy has a girlfriend named Ursula, but at the end of the episode "Let's Play Hot-Cold" he seemed to have fallen in love with Quack Quack, and he has admitted to enjoy crossdressing.
    • Mr. Cat as well, due to Kaeloo, his crush, having an Ambiguous Gender. When asked about it, the showrunners merely refer to Mr. Cat's sexual orientation as "ambiguous".
  • Shego and the title character of Kim Possible show considerable amounts of Les Yay toward each other, one episode has their 'friendship' overshadowing Kim and her own boyfriend's relationship (his reaction doesn't help), and they have had either male love interests or shown attraction to men.
  • Prince Wu in Season 4 of The Legend of Korra is a Casanova Wannabe who majorly fails at hitting on both Korra and Asami, and says that he finds Kuvira pretty. He also seems to have feelings for Mako. He seems almost flirty when he thinks Mako comes from money (the Krew took him to Asami's place to hide out after a kidnapping attempt by Kuvira supporters), and he seems very eager to learn more about Mako's past in "Remembrances".
  • Lil' George from Lil' Bush. He has a huge crush on Lil' Laura, but he's also had two incredibly flirtatious friendships with Lil' Tony Blair and Lil' Zac Efron. And he has a man crush on Aquaman.
  • Lilo & Stitch:
    • Jumba Jookiba did mention several times that he was married at one point but his ex-wife divorced him most likely due to his obsession with making experiments. His friendship with Pleakley however is very silly.
    • Pleakley comes off as Ambiguously Gay in the series and in the films as he had a lot of interests that are considered camp, rejected any girls that his parents tried to make him marry, and had a very funny friendship with Jumba. However, if the anime is to be considered canon, then Pleakley definitely qualifies for this as he had a crush on Tigerlily.
    • Gantu also showed some traits of this as he and Reuben (Experiment 625) also have a silly friendship that revolves around them bickering and making funny comments about their looks. He fell in love with Pleakley and Stitch as well but this was due to being pecked by Hunkahunka (Experiment 323), which caused him to become gender blind. However, Gantu admitted that he had a middle school crush on a girl.
  • The Loud House:
    • Luna Loud was revealed throughout the show to fall in love with Sam, a girl in her school who is also a rocker. Yet, Luna was also shown to be attracted to Hugh in "Study Muffin", which made most of the fanbase believe this as proof that she is bisexual. In an interview, Kevin Sullivan said that the writers of the show decided to give her an ambiguous yet nonheterosexual orientation.
    • Lynn Sr. may be married to Rita, but he's been shown to have a thing for other men on occasion. In "Study Muffin" from the main series, Mr. Loud joins the sisters in on stalking Hugh, although it's Played for Laughs. Since he's a bit of a Cloudcuckoolander and Bumbling Dad, it can be inferred that this was just him acting on bicurious impulse. This is made even more obvious in "The Guy Who Makes You Fly" from The Really Loud House, where he and Leni's boyfriend Chase have a thing for each other, rollerblading, watching the clouds, and playing cowbell together. They even have a ridiculously lengthy ritual together, and Lincoln and Clyde even outright refer to them as in a love triangle with Leni. Lincoln and Clyde are forced to untangle the love triangle by introducing Lynn Sr. to Chase's dad, Chase Sr., and they end up having a similar bond.
  • The mother/wife from the Ralph Bakshi short Malcom and Melvin. When Malcom played his horn, she burst in and said "I'm in love with the person playing that music", implying that her reaction would've been the same if it was a woman playing the music and not a man (well, flea).
  • Miraculous Ladybug:
  • The Mr. Peabody & Sherman Show: Mr. Peabody has had a mutual crush on Mary Anning in “Pea Dummy/Mary Anning” and smiled after Queen Isabella kissed him on the nose in “Biggest Fan/Queen Isabella.” When he met Captain Sir Mansfield George Smith-Cumming in “Secret Agent Sherman/Alexander Cartwright,” he blushed when he complimented the WABAC and Peabody insisted on changing the show’s segments to make them spy-themed, despite originally being against having the schedule changed. The two spend a lot of the show together, to the point to where Peabody trusts Mansfield enough to show him the blueprints to the WABAC. It leads to a twist where it was actually one of his enemies in disguise. Even though it turned out it wasn’t the real him, Peabody was quite fond of Mansfield.
  • My Little Pony: Equestria Girls:
  • My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic: Although she checks off some prominent lesbian stereotypes, Word of God is that Rainbow Dash isn't a lesbian, and she has some Ship Tease with Soarin'. On the other hoof, she has a ton of ambiguous moments, and the Distant Finale leaves it vague on whether or not she and Applejack are a thing. If it's the case, and assuming the aforementioned Word of God still holds, then the evidence points to Dash being bisexual.
  • OK K.O.! Let's Be Heroes: Rad is a macho guy who likes to show off for the ladies, once dated Enid, and briefly fell in love with Lord Boxman's minion Shannon. However, in "Parents' Day" he describes Enid's mom and dad as "a hot vampire" and "a hot werewolf", and he gets subtext with Raymond, another Boxmore minion.
  • The Owl House:
    • Edric is shown to mildly flirt with Luz when they first meet, and later in the episode "Through the Looking Glass Ruins" it's revealed he is going on a date. While nothing is revealed about who his date is, Emira uses gender neutral pronouns when talking about them.
    • At one point, Boscha inquires about whether or not a hypothetical ghost is cute and refers to them with gender neutral pronouns. Also her begging Amity to come back in "For the Future" has all the hallmarks of someone trying to get back together with their ex, giving the impression that Boscha might have been in love with Amity.
  • Penn Zero: Part-Time Hero:
    • Penn, who is distracted by his male forms just as often as his female ones. One episode features him dancing with both female and male partners and knowing how to perform both the lead and follow roles of the waltz.
    • Rippen is smitten by Starblaster, spending the entirety of her debut episode worrying about their upcoming dance, but is content with dancing with Larry after she reveals that she never had feelings for him.
  • Granville DeSpray from Pet Alien has an extremely obvious crush on Melba and frequently tries to win her love, but he also obsesses over Tommy just as much and even finds him attractive in "It Came From the Closet":
Granville: Despite your smashing good looks and fantastic muscle tone, there can only be one dancer in this neighborhood, and that dancin' boy is ME!
  • Ready Jet Go!:
    • For the longest time, Jet was merely ambiguously bi due to the limitations of preschool television. After the show ended, Craig Bartlett stated that Jet is interested in guys as well as girls. Not that this shocked anyone in the fanbase due to his constant Ship Tease with the female Sydney and the male Sean.
    • Sean has a ton of ship tease with Jet, but he also tried to hit on a background girl in "Mindy's Meteorite Stand". Due to this (and Bartlett ignoring questions about if Sean is gay), it's unclear where he falls, but most of the fandom sees him as just gay and say that the meteorite stand incident was just overcompensation.
    • Mitchell has a ton of Puppy Love subtext with Mindy, as well as occasionally coming off a Stalker with a Crush towards Jet. Not helping is this line from "Holidays in Boxwood Terrace":
Mitchell: I need to get closer to Jet.
  • Ren Hoek as depicted in Ren and Stimpy: Adult Cartoon Party. He clearly loves the ladies and will try to grab a woman's breast at any given opportunity, yet at the same time he appears in a relationship with Stimpy, with whom he already shared an Ambiguously Gay relationship with in the original. He denies that he loves Stimpy and insists that they're friends.
  • Rick and Morty:
    • Jerry Smith is unambiguously in love with his wife, the somewhat shaky status of their marriage notwithstanding, but in "Total Rickall" he is given a male love interest, who turns out to be a parasite who creates positive memories in people's minds in order to convince them of the parasite's status as a real human. It is yet to be seen if his attraction to men extends beyond a falsified experience with a man who didn't actually exist. Later, in Season Five, he and Beth are both open to a threesome with Mr. Nimbus.
    • Rick Sanchez is also considered this as he was married to a woman named Diane at one point, resulting in the birth of his daughter Beth, but at some point lost his wife through a divorce or death (later confirmed to be the latter). He later shows feelings towards an alien named Unity, a genderless Hive Mind who could take forms that are both male and female, and is heavily implied to have had a relationship with Mr. Nimbus. Word of God has all but confirmed that Rick is pansexual, and any remaining ambiguity is dispelled when it's explicitly revealed that he is in love with his (male) best friend, Bird Person.
    • Summer is this as of Season 4, if not outright bisexual. In "The Old Man and the Seat," when she was a part of the Lovefinderzz app craze, one of the "soulmates" the app paired her up with was a woman; at the end of "Rattlestar Ricklactica," when Rick asked her if she wanted to go to "Boob-World," she replied "not today," implying that she wouldn't be completely against going, and an alternate universe Summer in one of the comics is in a relationship with another teenage girl.
    • Revolio “Gearhead” Clockberg Jr. A gay magazine could be seen in his workshop but in the post credits scene of “Vindicators 3: The Return Of Worldender” he is seen flirting with a couple of girls.
  • Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated: Velma is in a relationship with Shaggy in the beginning of the series, but looks at Daphne in a bikini with approval and has a Pseudo-Romantic Friendship with Hot Dog Water in Season 2.
  • She-Ra and the Princesses of Power: Almost anyone who's not either Ambiguously Gay or explicitly gay is this.
    • Sea Hawk has a huge crush on Princess Mermista, but also seems to like Bow. For example, he catches him in his arms and in one episode, he randomly says hi to him while already having a conversation with someone else. Additionally, one tweet from the crew in the lead-up to Season 4 implies that Scurvy, a male pirate who's introduced as a former friend of his, may actually be an ex.
    • Mermista herself is definitely in a relationship with Sea Hawk, albeit a somewhat dysfunctional one, but dwells a bit on She-Ra's "beautiful hair".
    • Perfuma invites Bow as her date to Princess Prom, but sees Love Bubbles when she first looks at She-Ra, calls Huntara a "desert rose" while giving her a flower crown, and gets so much Ship Tease with Scorpia after her Heel–Face Turn that the "Scorfuma" ship exploded out of nowhere in the fandom.
    • Bow's reaction to Sea Hawk walked the fine line between mancrush and just crush, but he also accepted Perfuma's invitation to accompany her to Princess Prom.
    • Glimmer has had at least a little Ship Tease with Bow, Adora, Catra, and just a tiny bit with Entrapta.
  • The Simpsons:
    • Homer Simpson is Happily Married (most of the time) to Marge, but he's hugged and kissed Ned and filmed him naked in the shower, on several occasions commented how attractive another man was, and is the Trope Namer for Stupid Sexy Flanders. He's been kissed by another man on two separate occasions, and while clearly surprised didn't react negatively either. In one episode Homer and Chief Wiggum develop a friendship that verges on Ho Yay at times and in the episode "Donnie Fatso", Homer teams up with the FBI to infiltrate the mob, and becomes incredibly close to Fat Tony. True, the constant touching, hugging, and kisses on the cheek could be Hand Waved by Tony being an Italian gentleman, but when Tony dies of a heart attack during a sting, Homer mourns like he just lost the love of his life. He also flirts hopelessly with a "sensitive but rugged" manatee lover, completely failing to understand why Marge isn't in love with him. Another episode has Homer admit he's "maybe a little curious" when he mistakes Mr. Burns's attempt to bribe him for sexual advances, and in "The Blunder Years" he reacts to Marge being attracted to a parody of the Brawny paper towel man by looking the picture of Paul Newman on a bottle of Newman's Own.
    • In "Lisa the Drama Queen", Lisa Simpson had a Pseudo-Romantic Friendship with a girl named Juliet—no surprise, since this story is a parody of the movie Heavenly Creatures. And according to "Holidays of Future Passed" (which probably isn't canon) Lisa had at least three girlfriends — two at the same time — in college before marrying Milhouse. In "Mr. Lisa's Opus", Lisa's roommate seems to want to be "more than a friend", but we never learn if Lisa's interested. In the credits of "Mother and Child Reunion" when Lisa asked if any of the vision of the future is true, the oracle (Nate Silver) said, among other things, that Lisa will have 47% chance of a boyfriend and 72% chance of a girlfriend, Lisa is ecstatic about the odds (not at all bothered about the possibility of being a lesbian).
    • Bart Simpson has had crushes on many girls, but has also admitted to being "a little attracted to Milhouse" (this may have been to annoy Homer, but the trope is called Ambiguously Bi), got very jealous when Milhouse got a girlfriend, was willing to pose as Ralph Wiggum's date to attend the Krusty Anniversary Special ("You don't want to know how far I'll go!"), and one episode, in which he temporarily becomes best friends with Nelson, ends with a Brokeback Mountain parody.
    • Mr. Burns. While his romantic ventures have been based around women, Burns has been shown that he is not above flirting with the same sex — whether it is the Smithers facsimile named Phillip from Season 18's "Kill Gil vol. 1&2," owning a nude photo of Mark Twain in the episode "Rosebud", stating outright he enjoys the smell of other men in the episode "Homer vs Lisa and the 8th Commandment," a brief jovial mention of him marrying boxer Jack Dempsey while drunk in the comics or the running gag of his occasional flirtation with both Smithers (such as telling him outright that he loves him in "The Telltale Head" and referring to him as "lovely" in "Homer Goes to College") and Homer Simpson (both comics and show, such as calling him "buxom and flirty" in "Last of the Red Hat Mamas,") the question of 'is he or isn't he' is still a valuable cornerstone of his core character.
    • Milhouse seems to have crushes on both of the elder Simpson kids — his crush on Lisa is well established, of course, but he has also intoxicatedly said about Bart that "this guy here... this is the guy", was very jealous when Bart spent much time with Nelson and once jumped over a waterfall while exclaiming "I can't live in a world without Bart!". His file in the school psychiatrist's office says that he has "flamboyantly homosexual tendencies". In one episode Bart swaps lives with his rich look-alike and during dinner, Milhouse notices Barts' beautiful "half-siblings". He says they're beautiful, but then says just the girl, he didn't notice the beautiful boy. He says with a dreamy look on his face.
    • Abe enjoys dreaming of being the Queen of the Old West (and marrying two gunslingers at the same time), and when he transforms into a woman after being off his meds, he is pretty excited about Jasper's interest in him. Plus he's president of the Gay and Lesbian Alliance for some reason.
    • Ralph Wiggum once referred to Bart as his boyfriend, and upon seeing Bart naked in the movie said "I like men now!". Another time he hugs Comic Book Guy and says he will never let go. He also has interest in Lisa.
    • Chief Clancy Wiggum is clearly married to a woman and that Ralph is his son, but he has some questionable subtext with his partner, Lou. He also seemed to be attracted to Peter and Homer during their carwash sting operation in the crossover. He also uttered this line in "Homer Alone" after being kissed repeatedly by Homer for finding Maggie:
Chief Wiggum: *chuckles* Just don't let it happen again, ya big lug.
    • When Wiggum tells Eddie to direct traffic because he's the most graceful, Eddie makes flamboyant gestures while doing so and Wiggum comments "And that guy can't find a girlfriend, I'll never figure it out." However, Eddie is also mentioned to have slept with Lou's ex-wife.
    • Let's not forget Lenny and Carl, who have shown to have gay subtext between them, yet have also shown attraction to various women.
    • Mob boss Fat Tony had a wife (now deceased), but also expressed interest in Homer during the latter's time as The Mole for the police. He described as "heterosexual male friendship like the Greeks wrote about," which is an extremely ambiguous line.
    • Santa's Little Helper sired 25+ puppies with at least two dogs, but he also had to be physically dragged away from the Springfield pride parade once the Gay Dog Alliance came on the scene.
    • Between his "not in public!" comment when Homer kissed him in "One Fish, Two Fish, Blowfish, Bluefish," waxing poetic about stupid prettyboy quarterbacks for a bit too long, secretly writing and enjoying gay fanfiction, calling himself Homer's life partner (and frequent jokes about him having a similar place in Homer's life to Marge), treating Homer going to other bars as if he were cheating on him, and using the excuse that he only kissed Waylon to "see what kissing a man was like" despite the fact he's kissed multiple men over the course of the series, an argument for Moe not being completely straight could definitely be made. Also falls into the Hypocrite category as he was shown in earlier years to be homophobic (although that's lessened exponentially over time, to the point where he was the first townsperson to speak up in defense of legalizing gay marriage in Springfield).
    • On one occasion it is implied that Principal Skinner made a pass at his commanding officer during his service in 'Nam.
    • Barney complains when crowded in a closed bomb shelter that someone is touching him, but he's okay with it when he learns it was Skinner.
    • Otto was previously engaged to a woman named Becky until he broke off the engagement because he didn't want to give up heavy metal. Later on, there have been several shots where he's shown hanging out with Julio, who's gay, though the exact nature of their relationship to each other and whether it's platonic or romantic isn't known.
    • In "Burger Kings", when Krusty's LGBTQBLT campaign is failing, he asks Sideshow Mel for advice, since he's "three of those letters"… whatever that means. However Mel's only ever shown having attraction to women and has been married to one. Given that Mel has been shown to crossdress, Krusty, in his usual ignorance, could be referring to that with his comment.
    • During Helen and Timothy Lovejoy's roleplaying in "Sky Police" Helen becomes very interested when she hears another woman at the door, asking Tim to send her in.
    • Heavily downplayed, but at one point Lisa comments that those who bully others for being gay are often hiding their own homosexual tendencies, and Nelson immediately gets so nervous he jumps out of a moving bus to avoid any further discussion. However, he's only shown confirmed interest in women.
    • Most jokes about Martin Prince's sexuality imply that he's gay, but he does refer to Princess Kashmir as a "sexy lady" when Bart shows him a picture of her dancing with Homer in "Homer's Night Out".
    • In some episodes Duffman is shown to be gay, but in one of his first appearances it's revealed that he lied to a buxom blonde bartender to get her to sleep with him. He also mentions having two kids and when he was shot by Frank Grimes Jr. he said "I love you, Doris" before losing consciousness. Much like Milhouse, the writers can't seem to decide whether Duffman is straight, gay, or bi, though given that Duffman is a character played by multiple actors, the answer could very well be "all of the above".
    • In one episode, Shauna sent a makeout request to 200 guys and 7 girls. However, her only confirmed relationships have been with males.
  • South Park.
    • Eric Cartman. He's obsessed with Kyle, asked Clyde in french if he wanted to sleep with him, gets Ho Yay with Butters, hates girls, and has made out with a cutout of Justin Timberlake while dressed as Britney Spears. Despite this he has had a crush on Wendy, had an attraction to a female substitute teacher once, and confessed he likes a girl named Patty Nelson as well as having a girlfriend named Heidi.
    • Stan Marsh also fits this because he had a crush on Wendy but also had Ho Yay with Kyle.
    • Kyle Broflovski also fits this due to the reason mentioned above with Stan Marsh. However, Kyle has had several female love interests.
    • Randy Marsh, who is Stan's dad is married to Sharon, yet he was seen naked in the "Goobacks episode" during the male orgy scene occurring between a group of men who disliked the people from the future
    • Jimbo Kern is living in a single house with his friend, Ned and Jimbo even said the word "fag" without getting bleeped, which if Mr. Garrison is to be believed means that Jimbo is one. Yet Jimbo was revealed to have been one of the people who slept with Liane Carman on the same night of Eric Carman's conception. Jimbo was also one of the men who along with Ned, peeped on Mrs. Tenorman taking off her bra and refused to participate in a gay orgy that was used to protest the future people.
    • Ned Gerblansky also fits due to his funny relationship with Jimbo Kern and the fact that he lives with him. However, he was one of them revealed to have slept with Liane Cartman, participated with Jimbo in peeping on Mrs. Tenorman while she took off her bra, and he revealed in "Summer Sucks" that he had an ex wife.
    • Mr. Garrison is shown to be a Camp Gay teacher who first had Mr. Slave as his boyfriend before Mr. Slave left Garrison after Garrison got a sex change. However, Mr. Garrison also slept with two lesbians, who were Alice and Xerxes, while still considering himself gay due to the sex change. Then he went back to being a guy again before he rapes the Canadian president to death out of spite. As of now, Mr. Garrison's sexual orientation is unknown after he reverts back to being a male.
    • Butters Stotch also fits as his friendship with Cartman is littered with a lot of Ho Yay and Butters is the most effeminate of all the boys. However, Butters has fallen in love with more girls than all of the four main characters combined.
  • SpongeBob SquarePants:
    • The title character is said to be asexual by the creator, but he still is implied to have a crush on both Sandy and Squidward.
    • Squidward Tentacles has also implied to have a crush on Squilliam in the episode, "Squilliam Returns", in which he refers to him as "hot" while imagining him in his underwear. Additionally, the whole premise of "Love That Squid" involves Squiward trying to win the heart of a female squid.
  • Star vs. the Forces of Evil:
    • The titular character Star Butterfly. In addition to apparently having a thing for "bad boys" (given her crush on Earth, Oscar, who "has a record", and her ex Tom, an actual demon), she blushed furiously when the cheerleaders were demonstrating their plan to use their "booty-shaking dance moves" to distract the rival football team, and when StarFan13 shows her that her locker is wallpapered with pictures of Star, the inter-dimensional princess reveals that her locker is covered with pictures of StarFan13. Then in another episode, StarFan13 admits to having a crush on her, to which Star has no problem with. Not to mention that she's been associated with the Bi Pride colors three separate times (her punk outfit, the background colors to her Warnicorn Stampede, and in a piece of official art by a crew member), and her VERY affectionate interactions with Jackie and Janna.
      • This becomes more apparent in Season 4, where after learning to use magic without the wand, some of her attacks are in the colors of the Pan Pride flag, and in one episode she shows a lot of interest in Brunzetta, one of Marco's friends from his time in the Neverzone.
    • Tom may also count, especially when it comes to Marco. In one episode he's shown eating ice cream with the Pan flag colors, and that same episode has him bonding with Marco. In Season 4, there's an episode where Marco misplaces his swim trunks and wears Glossaryck's, mentioning that Tom likes them, and another episode where he brings up Star and Marco's kiss from the previous season, and asks how Star would feel if he kissed Marco and didn't tell her, suggesting that he has thought about doing that.
    • Starfan13 also said in one of the Marco chats that Marco looked very handsome dressed as a prince, even though she confessed to having a crush on Star earlier. Possibly Marco is simply that much of a Chick Magnet. In another chat, she says her favourite version of Star in an episode where reality keeps changing and starting to fall apart because Star refuses to solve a math problem is the male one.
    • The creators joked that Everyone Is Bi, but it looks like they were serious. Jackie also dated Marco for a while, but in the last season, she's with a girl named Chloe and Word of God says they are in a relationship.
  • Stōked: Reef is a Casanova Wannabe who has dated Lo and expressed a desire to date to Finn. He's also capable of seeing and explaining what Emma finds attractive about Ty, developed a crush on a male celebrity who visited the hotel he works at and acted like a jilted lover when the guy didn't give him the time of day, and was pleased at the thought of all the women and men at the beach finding him attractive.
  • Piper from Storm Hawks is a not-so-subtle example. She's had series-long Ship Tease with Aerrow, but there are plenty of scenes around women where she seems a little too...interested, mostly around Master Cyclonis and especially Starling. Whenever the latter is around she (unsuccessfully) tries to flirt/impress her and often fails, with cringeworthy results. Just watch this clip.
  • Susie from Summer Camp Island doesn't seem to mind much that Hedgehog (a girl) and Oscar (a boy) supposedly have Precocious Crushes on her.
  • Superjail!:
    • The Warden is attracted mainly to women (unrequited love for Alice, for example), but is also shown to be obsessed with Lord Stingray and Jared. (Although he was rather Squicked out by the latter's dream where they were making out.) And both obsessions come off as rather creepy, especially with the former.
    • Alice, on the other hand, is usually shown as being attracted to men but wound up sleeping with the Mistress at the end of "Stingstress". She quips afterwards that she had "forgotten how needy women can be". This would also make the Mistress, who's normally attracted to men, also Ambiguously Bi.
    • While Jared is obviously attracted to women (including his own Distaff Counterpart Cherice), there was one episode back in the first season where he had a dream that he and Warden had switched places. And they proceeded to make out.
  • Super Noobs:
    • Kevin Reynolds is implicitly shown to be this on a few occasions. He runs away from the advances of a female student named Jesse in one episode, who showed a one-sided crush on him, and in another, he had an apparent fanboy crush on the Superman Captain Ersatz parody known as The Incredibly Amazing Man, going so far as to make a marriage-like proposal to the aforementioned "hero" so Kevin could become his sidekick. However, Kevin is also implied on a few occasions, like in "Noob Colored Glasses", to have a crush on Shope.
  • Tangled: The Series
    • While Rapunzel is in a relationship with Eugene, there's quite a bit of subtext between Rapunzel and Cassandra, at times getting too close for comfort. In fact, when Rapunzel lost her memory, Cassandra decides to show Rapunzel the world like Eugene did in the movie, and there are hints she would’ve fallen in love with Cassandra if it were her instead of Eugene,
    • Varian had a crush on Cassandra in the first season, but "Be Very Afraid" shows that he's got a Flynn Rider wanted poster right next to his bed. Although this might be a case of downplayed Hero Worship.
  • Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
  • Teen Titans (2003)
    • Starfire notably has interest in Robin but also can get quite affectionate around Raven and Terra (expressed primarily through glomping).
    • Raven is implied but never confirmed to have feelings for Beast Boy (though Word of God says it's unintentional) and gets ship tease moments with Robin but also has ship tease moments with Terra and Starfire. However, the extreme emotional reactions she has towards Terra (when she betrayed her and her team) and Starfire (whenever she's hurt or has vanished) could also be because she's an emotionally repressed half demon who is very close to her friends and treats them like family.
  • Time Squad: Tuddrussel used to be married to Sheila and fell in love with Amelia Earhart, but his relationship with Larry is positively dripping with romantic subtext. Granted, he likely wouldn't take becoming aware of the subtext very well, given his general lack of respect towards Larry, whom he mostly regards as an annoying busybody.
  • Tiny Toon Adventures: Elmyra and Rhoda. Elmyra has a cute crush on Max and one short called "Can't Buy Me Love" has Elmyra meet an evil little girl called Rhoda. Elmyra sees hearts and positively MELTS when Rhoda says she'll let her be her best friend, and spends the rest of the picture bending over backwards to make Rhoda like her. It plays VERY much like any episode where Elmyra chases Max, only way more seriously, and heck, Elmyra even lets Rhoda HAVE Max (who doesn't want him after mere moments). And after she learns her lesson about not needing to give someone something so they'll like you, Rhoda comes by her window and says she'll be her friend again if Elmyra steals her mom's car keys and drives her to Utah. Instantly Elmyra says "okay" and rushes off eagerly to Rhoda's side. So not only is Elmyra completely infatuated with Rhoda, but apparently Rhoda can't leave Elmyra alone for five minutes, even after Elmyra dumped her. Elmyra also had a thing for chasing Fifi around, a voluptuous female skunk which persisted even after Fifi skunked her and had Elmyra go as far as to pose as Fifi's crush Pepe le Pew. The main thing keeping it ambiguous is the fact that Elmyra is very young and is implied to be desperately craving affection.
  • Total Drama:
    • In Season 1, deadpan snarker Noah displays campy mannerisms but is unaffected by Justin, who's so attractive he can hypnotize both men and women. In Season 3, his mannerisms are severely toned down but it's implied that he finds both Bridgette and Alejandro attractive, and in Total Drama Presents: The Ridonculous Race (a spin-off) he gets a crush on Emma, who's described as the first person he's ever genuinely fallen for.
    • Owen is attracted to Izzy (who he later dates) but also obviously has a crush on Justin, often mentioning how attractive he is and even expressing a desire to kiss him at one point.
    • Katie and Sadie had a lot of Les Yay between them as they cannot bear to be separated from each other forcefully and they frequently comment on each other's looks a lot. However, both of them have crushes on multiple boys including Justin and Trent.
    • Alejandro showed a lot of Ho Yay towards Noah as he blatantly flirted with him in the Japan and Newfoundland episodes. However, Alejandro also flirted with several girls before starting a romance with Heather.
    • Gwen has dated and made out with Trent and Duncan during her time on the show. However in the fifth season, she was more interested in getting Courtney's forgiveness for taking her boyfriend, Duncan away from her and she does eventually get her forgiveness. There was also tons of Les Yay between Gwen and Courtney in "World Tour" and "All Stars".
    • Courtney had a romance with Duncan in the first three seasons before flirting with Alejandro and them starting a brief romance with Scott. However, she had tons of Les Yay with Gwen in "World Tour" and "All Stars" and even went as far as complementing Gwen's hair in one episode.
    • Chris has openly acknowledged Justin and Caleb's attractiveness, becoming easily enamoured with the latter. In the intro for the 2023 season of Island, he and Chef also gaze at each other in place of the usual clip of the season's main couple. That said, it's implied that Chris has a crush on Lindsay if his "not too shabby" and "she's delicious" remarks are anything to go by and he enjoys the attention he receives from his female admirers as shown in the second season's special.
    • Chef enjoys cross-dressing, tends to be affectionate to Chris occasionally, admires Justin's good looks and blushes at Alejandro's compliments. In the intro for the reboot, he and Chris gaze at each other instead of having that season's main couple do so as previous seasons had done. With that being said, he asks Chris to give his digits to the sister of his female acquaintance in "Broadway, Baby!".
    • Wayne's shown to be attracted to girls, as evidenced by him calling the girls on his team "real hotties". However, he's also had some Ho Yay with his best friend Raj, who is gay, including a one-off joke mentioning that they share jock-straps.
  • Totally Spies!:
    • Clover is the established boy crazy girly girl of the group who also gets occasional Les Yay with her fellow spies.
    • Alex is just as boy crazy as Clover, refers to a female model as "super-hot", and gets a lot of Les Yay with Brittney and the other spies.
    • Brittney shows attraction to boys but also has a relationship with Alex that entails a lot of No Sense of Personal Space and petting Alex who morphed into a kitten while she petted her.
  • Ugly Americans: Twayne Boneraper, a demon who is Mark Lilly's boss, has shown several campy stereotypes and seemed to show attraction towards a sentient painting of a guy. However, Twayne had an obvious crush on Callie, almost married her sister Lilith, and dated a woman who acted like a Christian but was actually a stripper who stole things from him.
  • Jack Spicer from Xiaolin Showdown flirts with girls throughout the series (Kimiko, Jessie, Katnappe etc) while developing a fanboy crush on Chase Young (complete with adoring gazes through heart-shaped eyes, repeated attempts to hug and paw at him, and whiny jealous sulks whenever Chase rejects him). He also created an army of cheerleaders robots and enjoyed kissing one. Oh, and in the evil future where he takes over? He apparently has Chase Young constantly being tied up in nothing but his underwear, with butter being slathered on his abdomen, while Wuya is suspended from a wall in a cheerleader outfit.
  • Young Justice (2010)
    • Queen Bee, according to Batman, can control "most men and some women", and gets curiously intimate with both Garfield and Megan within minutes. This is complicated somewhat by Bee coming off as one of the more sociopathic members of the Light, and the fact that her powers work on the attraction of others, and not necessarily her own. Amb Bi in her case is just as likely to mean she swings one way or another as she doesn't swing in either direction at all.
    • Garfield Logan (aka Beast Boy)'s mother Marie Logan, though it's only by reading between the lines that it becomes obvious. Between the first and second season she was killed by Queen Bee, who as stated above uses her powers to control people who are attracted to women, so whatever Marie was she wasn't 100% straight. Greg Weisman responded when asked if Marie was a lesbian or bisexual with "Yes" when asked.
