The TVTropes Trope Finder is where you can come to ask questions like "Do we have this one?" and "What's the trope about...?" Trying to rediscover a long lost show or other medium but need a little help? Head to Media Finder and try your luck there. Want to propose a new trope? You should be over at You Know, That Thing Where.
Find a Trope:
openSacrificial Diversion
A minor villain (or Monster of the Week) who was sent by the Big Bad for the heroes to destroy as a distraction while he is working up an even greater threat.
Example: In one episode of Power Rangers Wild Force, the villains sent the Vacuum Org to distract the Rangers long enough to awaken Zen-Aku.
openAcerola
Is there a trope for the expression Acerola uses to get Nanu to do something for her as shown here◊, I looked at both Death Glare and Longing Look and Acerola's expression really doesn't fit either one.

What's the name of the trope that covers instances of sparring or play fighting?
openHomophobic Bullying
Do we have a trope for homophobic related bullying? Stuff that isn't "harsh" enough to be labelled under Homophobic Hate Crime, like pushing or jeering. Would that count as a downplayed version of Homophobic Hate Crime?
Edited by Pichu-kunopenGanging up on person who took the blame Live Action TV
Is there a trope for when a character offers to take the blame for something, and the actual guilty party criticizes him? I've seen it in comedies a few times.
Like:
Alice: I don't want to tell Charlie he can't come with us.
Bob: Don't worry, I'll tell him so he doesn't hate you.
(later, the two meet Charlie)
Bob: Charlie, you're not coming with us.
Alice: What? Bob, you're a monster! Why wouldn't you let Charlie come? You're worse than Hitler. Trust me, I'd LOVE if Charlie could come, but, you said no, because you're evil, so there's nothing I can do...

A character is having a nervous breakdown/drug-induced mania/whatever. Said character, normally very shy and reserved, ends up stripping (or attempting to do so) in a very public setting. Usually, this is played for laughs, but doesn't have to be.
I have two examples. In the TV show Frasier, Dr. Niles Crane does this in the coffee shop at one point, and in The Big Bang Theory, Raj does so when taking an experimental drug for his social anxiety.
Is there a name for this? If not, can we get at least one more example and make this a trope?
openEyes almost shut of hatred Anime
A manga trope where a character with Eyes Always Shut (or whose face currently has a closed-eyes look) gets a zoom on their face, revealing that their eyes are just barely open as an expression of the immense rage/hatred they're feeling.
openAsleepForDays... Does it really need to be multiple days?
Asleep for Days... Does it really need to be multiple days?
Is sleeping the whole day away, a downplayed Asleep for Days, since it's longer than usual? Would even sleeping away half a day count?
EDIT: I'm talking about a Sleep Deprivation victim getting her rest...
Edited by MaladyopenForgotten trope returning
Do we have an index for tropes that were forgotten for a while, but have now become popular again? Cyclic Trope and Undead Horse Trope are not what I'm looking for since the trope I have in mind was never parodied or subverted - it was simply forgotten until it was recently put into the spotlight.
openRegenerating ammo+automatic portable reloading machine Videogame
In the doom mod "Hideous Destructor" the BFG (when either it's internal or removable battery has about 35% cap left), is capable of charging batteries from "botis fields" (basically hell energy, it's everywhere and afaik it only matters here context wise).
This essentially means you can (gradually) infinitely charge batteries, granted all the ones you have are not completely dead.
And one more since I'm here, there's a "reloading machine", it combines one 7.62 casing with four 4.26mm rounds to create a single 7.62 round
openA work has changed so much from the beginning that the current work is unrecognisable in comparison
I'm meaning in a neutral way, not like "It's changed so now it sucks". Like a band who's first album has a different genre, different lineup, and really only shares a title artist with the newest one. I thought this was a trope but maybe I imagined it. Your millage definitely may vary for this one anyway.

Hero leads trouble to people... Do we have that?
We have Trouble Follows You Home... But Smile isn't Jimmy's home, but a town down the hill from it.
- Jimmy and the Pulsating Mass: After a Low-Level Goon tried to take over the town of Smile and had specific commands for the townsfolk to not help Jimmy, after the Goon is defeated, Mrs. Mouse doesn't want Jimmy in the town, because his presence seem like it would lead to trouble.
openEldritch Abomination trope? Anime
Do we have this one?
Alice and Bob are Walking the Earth, and run into an Eldritch Abomination who takes the form of a Zettai Ryouiki young Japanese woman. Bob asks to see her true form, which has more than four dimensions and is the size of a skyscraper (sort of like Ah! My Goddess and the demon's true forms), and is surprised by it but doesn't go mad, whereas Alice goes mad from seeing it.
Basically - Bob has no trouble with the true form, Alice does.

openOnly you remember the erased timeline
Marty Mc Fly has a time machine, goes to the past to Set Right What Once Went Wrong. He comes back, likes the new present, and stays. But now, Marty remembers the original timeline, the one when things went wrong, and nobody else does (because for everybody else who was not time-traveling with him, history with things going right was simply the normal history).
In this scenario, the Big Bad and her dragon finish their plan. However, their plan has a pitfall, and the object they had is about to explode. The dragon using her magic powers teleports somewhere else alongside the bomb, and ends up getting killed, leaving the villain scream a Big "NO!".
What would be the dragon's sacrifice trope be?
