openMillennial bashing
Hey i don't edit on this site that often, however i found this on the Gag Dub page were a user named Katana Cat did a edit were he/she referred Millennial's as "snake people". I have edit it back to normal. But i want you people to know about this. https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/article_history.php?article=Main.GagDub
openPotential issues with COVID-19 page
I was just made aware of the page UsefulNotes.Coronavirus Disease 2019 Pandemic. I do think it's worth having a page for the outbreak given the immense impact it's had on media and culture, but I can already identify some potential problems cropping up. The most obvious is some blatant fearmongering added on April 3rd by user Fogsgse, in which the article concludes with:
"Compare: The Black Death, The Spanish Flu."
While the outbreak is far from over the current death toll and number of cases is a minuscule fraction of the numbers from either of those disease outbreaks (being charitable, we're at about 3% of the fatality and infection levels of the latter, and less than 1% of the former). Fogsgse made similar edits to those pages adding the current outbreak as something to "compare" to.
There might be further issues in the page, but it currently clocks in at 14 paragraphs and 2,964 words, not counting [[note]] markups, with two particularly dense paragraphs clocking in at over 500 words, again not counting [[note]] markups, so actually dissecting the whole thing for more problems will take more time than I have on my hands at the moment. Frankly the sheer length is a problem of its own.
On a more nitpicky note, the current title of the page is somewhat clunky from a grammatical and contextual standpoint, in my opinion, especially given that the outbreak began at the very end of 2019 and has mostly taken place in 2020.
Edited by Dirtyblue929openAssistance on the Huntdown Article Videogame
Hi, I created an article on the just-released indie game called Huntdown. It's run-and-gun game, and I don't know what tropes to put for and to say. Also, I haven't played it yet. I asking anyone for help. Will you, please?
Edited by Xteme19openDethroning Moment pages
How many Dethroning Moments does a work usually need to have to get its own separate page?
openPage Rename Requests?
I should probably know this by now, but where should I go for page rename requests?
For anyone curious, at the moment I'm looking to put in a request for Characters.Star Wars Saw Gerreras Partisans to be renamed to Characters.Star Wars The Partisans — the current name was a provisional one from back when the group didn't seem to have an official name; it's long since been confirmed that the group's actual name is "The Partisans" and the page reflects that. As a characters page it only has 15 wicks so it should be a relatively easy change.

I am trying to add an image to the works page for Street Time and I was wondering if it is usually immediate or if it takes awhile. Let me know, thanks.
openEdit War Film
On the 6th of May, Kelvin G added the following to Trivia. The Last Jedi:
- Dear Negative Reader: Johnson took several potshots at fans, from calling them misogynistic manbabies to posing with a placard reading, “Your Snoke theory sucks!”.
- From Entertainment to Education: Inverted. This film is used as an example on how NOT to write a script.
Both were removed by Constanton 11, only for Kelvin G to re-add them today.
openCould someone please delete the page I mistakenly created?
Hiya!
I thought I was creating a second sandbox entry, but instead created a public page, which I'm not ready to release yet. I apparently don't have authorization to delete it yet. Could someone please do so when you get a chance? The link is:

Thanks, and sorry about the mistake.
openAnimaniacs comic book
I’ve noticed that sometimes, when a tv show gets a comic book series, the comic book gets its own page (i.e. The Batman Adventures and Looney Tunes). So can I make a page for the Animaniacs comic book series?
Edit: I have a new question related to this. Seeing as how a bunch of tropes about the comic book are on the main page, can I move them to the comic book page?
Edited by Loopytires55openAre YMMV tropes allowed on other opinion-based subpages?
What the title says. For example, is a pothole to So Okay, It's Average on a Funny Moments subpage allowed?
openUsing a quote as an example Literature
Is it okay to only use quoted material as an example of a trope?
It's not marked in the usual quote format, it's literally just the text from the book as a bullet point.
The example that prompted me to ask this is from wren_locklear as their edit for Heterosexual Life Partners is just one paragraph from the narrator's internal monologue.
openAbout Trope Finder
I noticed that the top of the page where the description is still has the old name for the Trope Launch Pad. Can that be changed to the newer one?
openCreating A New Page From An Existing One
This is Exactly What It Says On the tin- how can I create a page after clicking "edit" on an existing page?
open Acceptable Targets TRS
There is currently a Trope Repair Shop thread going on for the trope Acceptable Targets and its subtropes, discussing their decay, misuse, and how to proceed with them as a concept, if at all.
If you would like to read through the thread and participate, the link is here: https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/posts.php?discussion=1579468586087452200&page=1#comment-1
PLEASE DO NOT RESPOND IN THIS QUERY. It was made for the sole purpose of informing others of the thread's existence, at the spurring of others in it, and any discussions to be had here are better off in the thread.
openRules regarding new work pages
I noticed we didn't have a tv tropes page for Volcanoids, and I was wondering what the process for creating a new work page is. Is it something akin to the Trope Launch Pad, or can I just go to Volcanoids and get to work?

Edited by GofastmikeopenJust starting, got questions
Hiya!
Long time site reader, just joined yesterday (more than 24 hours ago) and had my account approved. Am interested in creating a work list with tropes and at least one author page (fanfic category), and have drawn up word files with wording specifics. Have done some reading about how to do this, but have got several questions (and note that I'm kind of technology challenged, don't know HTML, etc.):
-If I create the page, does it publicly post up automatically? Or is there a saved template area where pages under construction are put?
-Am a little confused about starting the page, as well about creating links within the article (both to other TV Tropes pages and to outside pages). I don't expect I'll be creating folders.
-I'm keen to learn, and would like to have someone who knows the site critique my pages before they're made public if that's possible.
-Is there a way to PM other tropers?
I'm also planning to make some fanfic recs, and may need help here as well.
Many thanks!
Just created a Creator Page and Fanfic Page for an author and work. Questions:
1. I created the latter off the Red Link Page, which is one suggestion for doing this in the instructions. It got the title of "Fan Works/Red Link," and the only option I saw was to do a Custom Wiki Word request for a title change. Link:
https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/FanWorks/RedLink
Presumably I'll need to wait for someone to approve it? Did I do this right? If I should do it differently, could someone let me know? It should be ready to go otherwise.
2. Essentially, the same thing happened when I created the Creator Page. It is currently titled "Bolt_DMC," and I understand I need to do a Custom Wiki Word request for a creator name change to Bolt_DMC. Link:
https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Creator/BoltDMC
Presumably I'll need to wait for someone to approve it? Did I do this right? If I should do it differently, could someone let me know? It should be ready to go otherwise. I've already indexed the page as well, hopefully that's the right thing to do.
3. Any estimates as to how long it usually takes for approvals? Just curious.
4. How long does material stay in my Sandbox Page? Does it get automatically deleted at some point? Once my two pages are ready to go, should I delete material in it? Is there a way to hide it, or should I even do that?
Also, if anyone has criticisms about the pages I've created, I'm fine with getting feedback. Either a reply to this post or a PM is fine.
Thanks!
