openProblematic entry in YMMV/KamenRiderZeroOne
These days a problematic Arc Fatigue entry has appeared on Kamen Rider Zero-One.
the entry (currently commented out) in question is this:
- Arc Fatigue: Many fans believe that the Workplace Competition arc dragged on for far too long, and that the time spent on the arc could have been used instead to dive into other more interesting stories or developing the characters.
I had to delete the entry because it was not an example since this arc barely lasted the same as the first arc and it was a complaint.
Later that entry was re-added by TrueChaos without an explanation, then I had to delete that problematic entry again with its deletion reason and enter into a conversation with TrueChaos.
After the conversation and after clarifying several things, we reached a point where we need more help.
Moving the entry to one of two tropes (or both) It's the Same, Now It Sucks! for its repetitiveness and Padding because while it is entertaining and contributes a lot to the plot of the show it feels long to some extent or the option to leave it in Arc Fatigue because supposedly it doesn't add anything to the show and ruins the pacing.
Edited by RicardoRenegadoopenMassive amounts of ZCE in the ''Zettai Karen Children'' Character Page Anime
I was looking over the page for Zettai Karen Children and I noticed an astounding amount of ZCE, both just blank trope names and "Trope Name: Is this" entries, as well as a great deal of improper punctuation/capitalization and other such issues. I nuked most of the ZCE entries, but if anyone who's watched this anime can help restore them with the context they need, it would be very much appreciated.
openProper use of No Body Left Behind
I have seen the No Body Left Behind trope being used for examples that are better covered by I'm Melting!, Reduced to Dust or Defeat Equals Explosion.
Reading the description of No Body Left Behind, it seems to cover mainly "fading into nothingness" and not the above cases.
What is the proper use of the trope? Is it superfluous when I'm Melting!, Reduced to Dust or Defeat Equals Explosion examples are already present?
openShinsekai Into The Depths
I am ready to recreate this page because I have a few examples of tropes that I can add to the page. The game is a Metroidvania with a plot that takes place After The End and fully inverts Super Not-Drowning Skills. With permission, I'd like the page reinstated and I can add these few tropes.
openNo Title
Fanfic.Outside Context Problem has a one-line description, no indices, only four examples, exactly one wick (not even a crosswick, just an unrelated wick), and seemingly no effort in over a year to fix any of these problems except a wick to Needs Wiki Magic Love.
Is this page worth keeping?
openInitially commented-out zero context examples
so i've been seeing stuff like this happen a lot on the pages i follow, and they always seem to be by the same person. is this allowed? right now i'm giving them the benefit of the doubt and assuming they'll make them not ZCEs later, which is probably why they started off commented.
openHow to properly add to this trope?
I am trying to add to the "Mythology Gag" for Marle's character page under FF 7 R but I think my input method was wrong. I looked under "how to post an example" but didn't find what I was looking for.
Mine is the text under "Mythology Gag" that says: " - And according to lore from FFX, "Marlena", is the Cactuar word for "Grandma", which definitely fits Marle."
Any help or page links are appreciated
openThe script page for Spider-Man 4 be restored?
I read the reason it was deleted was the script not being made publicly available. It actually was for years (around the early 2010s, 2012-2013 if I remember right), including the production details. It has been covered by a few YouTubers: Example #1, Example #2, Example #3, Example #4.
I saw several unmade films have pages, why not this one which has a legit poster?

Or does a villain who displays Fantastic Racism also qualify?
openForums get stuck at the top as a blue link
Does anyone else sometimes have a bug where in a section of the forums (such as the list of forums under “Wiki and Forums”), one of the forums gets stuck at the top (as in it always seems like it had the most recent post) for some time, with it constantly showing as a blue link as well?

A question to those who’ve seen the movie in the title: Are we meant to believe that Susan manipulated David into marrying her from the very beginning, or is that an Alternative Character Interpretation? Because if it’s the former, that’s some hardcore Values Dissonance and Esoteric Happy Ending.

MGCM has this notice on the page:
- There’s an official NSFW or R18+ version called MGCM DX. However, hentai content isn't allowed here as per the rules of TV Tropes, so we'll stick to discussing the regular version.
and below that:
Safe version only!
This strikes me as a misunderstanding of the rules. There's no rule against discussing NSFW content, or against discussing works with NSFW content. If the NSFW version breaks the content policy that's one thing (I don't know if it does or not) but that still wouldn't be a blanket ban on discussing it, right?
And there's a couple examples discussing it anyway...
resolved Edit War on YMMV / Godzilla: King of the Monsters (2019) Film
Derv0sB2 Added an entry to the page in question under Unintentionally Unsympathetic. Diamond In The Robot deleted it because they didn't agree with it. Then Derv0s B 2 added it back.
Regardless of whether you agree with the entry (I don't, or at least think it needs serious work) this is clearly an Edit War. What do?
Edited by MinisterOfSinisteropenOutdated Keep Circulating The Tapes
I've looked at a few Trivia pages for some old Disney Cartoon shows, such as Recess, Gummi Bears and New Adventures of Winnie The Pooh. They all have entries for Keep Circulating the Tapes (Pooh having the longest), all of which end with noting that the full series are now available on Disney+. As these are now outdated, should the entries be cut altogether?
openDragalia Lost character info
Over time, the Characters.Dragalia Lost subpages seem to have gradually grown to include more and more character stats on them. As of now, each character has listed:
- Voice actors
- Element (only for main characters and alternate versions, as characters are already sorted by element to begin with)
- Rarity
- Unit Type
- Weapon Type
- Co-Ability
- Chain Co-Ability
- Shareable Skill
- Debut
I really think most of these are out of place for the site; with the abilities and skills turning into Walkthrough Mode. And the text takes a bunch of space, getting much worse if a character has multiple versions to document (see Characters.Dragalia Lost Main Characters for the worst of it).
I'm tempted to just take a chainsaw to this stuff myself, but I'm worried that it'll just be put back and head toward an edit war. And I could use some input on what stays and what goes.
openAbout Meta moments Live Action TV
Should I move any Meta Heartwarming/Funny/what-have-you moments of any significance to the Trivia section?
For example, Heartwarming.Lucifer 2016 has the following facts about the #SaveLucifer campaign. It's interesting, it's the reason the show is still airing, but it's in violation of the 'no meta stuff in Moments pages' rule.
Thoughts?
Meta
- The #SaveLucifer campaign. Repeatedly, Lucifer fans pushed the hashtag to the Top Ten trending on Twitter and shared why they wanted the show to return.
- The producers of the show, along with the cast, praising the fans for the campaign and working to help however they could, with interviews and updates.
- Russell Burligame of Comicbook.com put up a hat he got during a set tour for Season 2 of the show on Ebay, with the money raised going to the ACLU. They ended up raising over $2000 for charity.
- #LuciferSaved. Netflix grabbing the show a day before the actors' contracts were set to expire.
- The reactions of the cast upon hearing the news, including Rachael Harris appearing sans makeup to quickly spread the news, Aimee Garcia filming a shocked reaction in her car, and Scarlett Estevez's mother surprising her in a video and her face lighting up in excitement.
- A big one too: Many people were more or less upset that despite being saved for Netflix, the show would end with its fifth season. However, the apparent response and high demand for the show after its fourth season led to Netflix announcing that it would in fact end with its sixth season.
Ryu
"His Hadouken might be a reference to the Kamehameha. In the anime Street Fighter II V, it's even charged up the same way as Roshi's Kamehameha. The Shinkuu Hadouken even becomes pretty much a Kamehameha in the Marvel vs. Capcom series. Hadouken also literally translates as Wave Motion Fist. Takashi Nishiyama mentioned this particular reference in an interview with 1up (sadly, no longer online)".
Actually, his Hadouken is a reference to a famous 1974 anime in Japan called Space Battleship Yamato. Takashi Nishiyama credits the anime for that. In the anime, there is a super weapon called the Hadouho (Wave Motion Gun). It charges up a beam of energy and fires it to it's target. Hadouho/Wave Motion Gun is where the Hadouken got it's origin.
