To be clear, this is about things which have been true for some time and you only recently learned about, not things that only happened recently. In particular, recent deaths of celebrities and other high-profile individuals should go in the General RIP Thread.

Today I learned that just because your MMORPG account ain't worth all that much doesn't mean someone isn't going to hack you, delete your characters and subscription, probably ruin your reputation with your guild, and generally make a mess of your favorite pastime. All because you let your advanced internet protection lapse for a month and a half. I feel like such an idiot.
If you need me, I'll be trying to cope with losing all my progress.
