During the investigation of recent hollers in the Complete Monster thread, it's become apparent to the staff that an insular, unfriendly culture has evolved in the Complete Monster and Magnificent Bastard threads that is causing problems.
Specific issues include:
- Overzealous hollers on tropers who come into the threads without being familiar with all the rules and traditions of the tropes. And when they are familiar with said rules and traditions, they get accused (with little evidence) of being ban evaders.
- A few tropers in the thread habitually engage in snotty, impolite mini-modding. There are also regular complaints about excessive, offtopic "socializing" posts.
- Many many thread regulars barely post/edit anywhere else, making the threads look like they are divorced from the rest of TV Tropes.
- Following that, there are often complaints about the threads and their regulars violating wiki rules, such as on indexing, crosswicking, example context and example categorization. Some folks are working on resolving the issues, but...
- Often moderator action against thread regulars leads to a lot of participants suddenly showing up in the moderation threads to protest and speak on their behalf, like a clique.
It is not a super high level problem, but it has been going on for years and we cannot ignore it any longer. There will be a thread in Wiki Talk to discuss the problem; in the meantime there is a moratorium on further Complete Monster and Magnificent Bastard example discussion until we have gotten this sorted out.
Update: The new threads have been made and can be found here:
Please see the Frequently Asked Questions and Common Requests List before suggesting any new entries for this trope.
IMPORTANT: To avoid a holler to the mods, please see here for the earliest date a work can be discussed, (usually two weeks from the US release), as well as who's reserved discussion.
When voting, you must specify the candidate(s). No blanket votes (i.e. " to everyone I missed").
No plagiarism: It's fair to source things, but an effortpost must be your own work and not lifted wholesale from another source.
We don't care what other sites think about a character being a Complete Monster. We judge this trope by our own criteria. Repeatedly attempting to bring up other sites will earn a suspension.
What is the Work
Here you briefly describe the work in question and explain any important setting details. Don't assume that everyone is familiar with the work in question.
Who is the Candidate and What have they Done?
This will be the main portion of the Effort Post. Here you list all of the crimes committed by the candidate. For candidates with longer rap sheets, keep the list to their most important and heinous crimes, we don't need to hear about every time they decide to do something minor or petty.
Do they have any Mitigating Factors or Freudian Excuse?
Here you discuss any potential redeeming or sympathetic features the character has, the character's Freudian Excuse if they have one, as well as any other potential mitigating factors like Offscreen Villainy or questions of moral agency. Try to present these as objectively as possible by presenting any evidence that may support or refute the mitigating factors.
Do they meet the Heinousness Standard?
Here you compare the actions of the Candidate to other character actions in the story in order to determine if they stand out or not. Remember that all characters, not just other villains, contribute to the Heinousness Standard
Final Verdict?
Simply state whether or not you think the character counts or not.

Sidenote...
- Seasons 8 & 9: Abaddon proved herself to be as evil as any of her demonic predecessors. As one of the Knights of Hell, the first demons created by Lucifer, she was trained by Cain before he became The Atoner. Abaddon tricked Cain into murdering the human woman he had fallen in love with with the First Blade, earning his undying hatred. After centuries of serving under Hell's banner, in 1958 she kills a priest who was researching a demon cure. She possesses Josie Sands to infiltrate the Men of Letters, noting that Josie is in love with her partner Henry Winchester and therefore can hurt them more. Abaddon massacres the Men of Letters and follows Henry through a time portal into 2012, disposing of him after going back on a deal she made with Sam and Dean. When she discovers that Hell has been brought under the more pragmatic Crowley in her absence, she sets out to become Queen of Hell and promises her followers a new reign of terror. After Crowley regains his human emotions, Abaddon kidnaps his son Gavin and proceeds to torture him in front of his father. He caves in to her demands and helps her to defeat the Winchesters, but then she decides to kill them all anyway.
Superntural note...I think Abaddon may need a rewrite. This doesn't even get her worst crimes in and why she belongs on the list. I can take care of that soon.
I'm planning on reading the Resident Evil film novelizations but I don't think anyone has looked into the other RE novels.
This is kind of coming out of the blue but I'm going to drop the Pre-Crisis Jokers from my To-Do list. The problem I have with them is that, due to the multiverse, there are two of him, the Golden age Joker, and the Silver/Bronze age Joker. I can't find any reading guide for his appearances at all let alone one that tells the difference between the two so I'm going to save myself the headache and just drop them.
I think golden age Joker derailed a train at one point.

Hope your prepared for an unforgettable luncheondid he at least do anything heinous in any research you did. Only thing I know about Silver-Age Joker is this
interesting.
Edited by nwotyzal on Nov 24th 2020 at 11:39:32 AM
Silver Age Joker wasn't particularly heinous, AFAIK, considering what a big deal it was when he killed a treacherous former henchman with an Explosive Cigar in the Bronze Age story "The Joker's Five-Way Revenge".

Li Pang added to drafts, so that Carter Burke will have someone else to accompany him when the CM / HS Crossover gets updated.
My next proposal... hmm, no spoilers here, but it's going to be a somewhat unusual one
Should we use Return Engagement for the title, or Hong Kong Corruptor? IMDB has it under the latter.
CM Dates; CM Pending; CM Draftsto Dragud and Bathory.
Don't bother with ultimate dock ock. He's just a very sad broken man and he also you knew had a redemption esqe heel reelization in the finale. So no go.
"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."No Doc Ock from Ultimate Spider-Man doesn't count. He's a sad broken man.
Though I have been thinking about doing Zola from the same show.

Fan-Preferred Couple cleanup threadTheirs also morbius from the Same show. He did create carnage and try to spread it across the entire world for Hydra (weird take on the character).
"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."Hello Adaptational Villainy. Isn't he usually an Anti-Hero or Anti-Villain at worst?

Hey, has anyone called dibs on the fourth Five Nights at Candy's game? I want to see if they add anything to the RAT.
NOISE IS CALLING, PICK UP PHONE@Return Engagement topic
Not really sure, but I guess we can follow what's on IMDB
Hong Kong Corruptor it is then.
CM Dates; CM Pending; CM DraftsNext Samus and Joey candidate, but first a recap.
So the Dominion’s the central villain of Volume 3. They’re planning the Ultimate Warrior project (not that one), which would involve copying Samus’ power suit to be sold across the galaxy as a weapon. Thing is, you'd need somebody to test it out first before selling it.
Who Is He?
Dangelo, from Chapter 12 (“Suspicious Dark Shadows, Different Interiors”), is a psychopathic escaped convict who wants revenge on Samus for locking him up.
What has he done?
Given a blue power suit by Dominion as part of their Ultimate Warrior project to test out its abilities, Dangelo uses it to go on a killing spree, murdering several people as he robs a bank as a way to pin the crime on Samus. Having killed over 30 people over the span of a few days, Dangelo later kills several cops who swarm Samus to make her look worse.
Dangelo afterwards blows up part of a hospital, killing loads more people, and takes the remaining patients hostage, killing several more cops who arrive at the scene. Once Samus actually shows up for a duel, Dangelo claims that the hospital survivors aren’t hostages, but their audience… only to threaten them with murder if she were to resist fighting him. “Oh wait, I guess that means they’re hostages after all! Kyahahahahahahah!”
Dangelo has Samus break her arm canon under the threat of murdering a hostage, just so he can have a better advantage over her. Once Samus complies, Dangelo, realizing that she cares for the hostages, tries to kill them, goading Samus to protect them now that she’s powerless. Thankfully, Samus is able to outsmart him, punching him so hard he breaks through the walls, his unconscious body landing on a cop car in front of the police.
Redeeming Qualities?
Zilch. Dude’s just a psycho who was rightfully thrown into prison.
Heinousness?
For a one-off villain meant to serve as a guinea pig for a larger plan, Dangelo’s got a decent sized body count. Essentially a spree serial killer who was born with zero powers whatsoever, Dangelo is the only one of these guinea pigs we see in the manga, taking full advantages of his newfound abilities to murder and torment anybody he can.
Conclusion
I think he’s a keep.

"No running in the halls!"Yes to Dangelo.
Yes to Dangelo. How many Metroid keepers would this make again?
Edited by Bullman on Nov 25th 2020 at 11:21:41 AM
Fan-Preferred Couple cleanup thread8 keeps. And if things go right tomorrow, it'll be 9.
Not really. The Dominion's too much of a shadowy cabal with no clear-cut leader. Only one member of the Dominion looks to keep, and even then, they're not "leader" material.
Edited by therealjackieboy on Nov 25th 2020 at 9:35:47 AM
"No running in the halls!"Sure to him. So Dominion doesn't have a clear single leader?
CM Dates; CM Pending; CM Draftsto Dangelo.
BTW, for a Metroid page, possible quote ideas:
Samus Aran: Ah... uu...
Ridley: FLESH!!! [smiles] I somehow survived by consuming the bodies of your kind, tossed every which way. Foul, foul human flesh. [smacks Samus across the face]
Samus: Guah-help… Ugh... N-... no
Ridley: Heh, humans are always weak to the death of their own kind!! You don't know, maybe I even ate your "mama" so that my cells can live, hm? Is she here [points at his body] or here?! [grabs Samus] At least pay your respects!
Samus: N-... No...
I like the last one myself, while the first one may work as an image caption if we can find a could image of Manga!Ridley.
CM Dates; CM Pending; CM DraftsI like the last one best as well.

Correct me if I’m wrong but wasn’t his whole schtick to get back at Osborn for using him as a test subject, and that one episode does show he is a man of honor.
