Are we gonna need a stickied header like the one in the Things You Didn't Know Until Very Recently thread?
SoundCloudMaybe. I guess I can say something about not bringing new tropes that are on the front page.
Macron's notesNot very recently, but, despite having lurked for about ten years and change before I joined, I didn't notice the YMMV item Critical Backlash until around 2022 despite it having launched in 2009. Even then, I initially thought it was about work getting bad reviews, rather than than about people not finding a work to be as horrible as it's made out to be (despite the page saying right at the start that the "trope" is the opposite of Hype Backlash).
I only knew of Not Afraid to Die from Buggy's character page a few days ago. I think it's neat as a trope, and it also fits me personally (or, at least, I hope to be at such a state when I die).
Are you afraid?just clicked random tropes until i found something i didnt know
Found out that toys themselves have tropes.
Oh, neat, I was actually looking for a thread like this a while ago. At the time the trope that I was thinking of was Inbred and Evil, mostly because (at the risk of sounding egotistical) it interested me how a work I'd once worked on averted the unfortunate implications the description keeps wanting to criticize. But there was actually another trope just yesterday that I was surprised to discover we had in a good way. I'm trying to remember what it was.
I just found Misfit Labrat from doing my daily random trope dives for "Trope of the Day". I never seen it linked anywhere but it's apparently (probably because it has 36 wicks) an old article.

Macron's notesThird-Person Flashback and Villain Antagonist fully passed me by.
The pessimist sees a dark tunnel, the optimist sees a light, the realist sees two lights and the engineer sees three idiots.Kinda glad I found it, because it's something that happens to me a lot.
Cold turkey's getting stale. Tonight I'm eating crow.I only just now found out about Fridge Sadness.
I like to keep my audience riveted.Maybe not that they existed but I found out Stuffed In A Fridge is not Fridge Logic nor has nothing to do with other "fridge" tropes.

Like Father, Unlike Son. A common trope that is surprisingly rarely added to work pages, which is why I was surprised to find it does in fact exist on the site.
I Have Brothers. That one's so obvious that I'm shocked it didn't occur to me ages ago.
Emergent Human. Feels like it dovetails near-perfectly with Humanity Ensues and is present in a lot of media I enjoy, but it's just flown under the radar in general.
"My job here is done." "But you didn't do anything."Gratuitous Mariachi Band. I mean definitely an extremely funny trope, I just didn't know it had a name.
Stand up against pinkwashing, don't fall for propogandaI didn't know Come for the Game, Stay for the Mods was a trope.
The Protomen enhanced my life.Power Misidentification which is surprising because I was blown away when it happened in BoBoiBoy in the Season 2 finale (just made the example for it yesterday).
Are you afraid?
I thought we had this thread already but apparently not.
For me it is, Disproportionate Restitution.
