Multiple Languages, Same Voice Actor

...a trope that was created in TLP and then launched by me is the Featured one. Amazing.

The best character is always the one-shot disguise.

I kind of wonder if the featured trope tool isn't good with leap years (something I don't have any way of knowing without asking anyone who was promoted before me, since I wasn't a mod during any previous leap year), because for whatever reason it was showing Smash Mook as the featured trope even though I chose Perennially Overshadowed Birthday about a month or two ago (and corrected it to the latter after I saw that it was displaying the wrong trope); Perennially Overshadowed Birthday had also disappeared from the list before I put it back.

My favorite featured trope this year (so far) was The Three Wise Men blessing the front page on January 6th, as I wrote in the Entries that make you go "Aww" thread. Would have been more fitting here, but I didn't know about the existence of this thread.

"He betrayed the Staaarks" is not the only problem here.

OK, the featured trope tool seems to have a bug, because it's been skipping entries. I had Adventurous Irish Violins set up as the featured trope for St. Patrick's Day, but it wasn't displaying what I originally entered. I fixed that just now, but I might need to keep an eye on it since I have a handful of other themed featured tropes set up (most of them weren't chosen due to the day they're for, and are mostly just for bringing attention to smaller tropes, so those being out of alignment isn't a big deal).

To everyone who cares about Christian holidays, I wish you a meaningful Holy Saturday. This is kind of a sandwiched day in between Good Friday, commemorating Jesus' death on the cross, and Easter Sunday, celebrating His return from the dead. Basically, it is about the time when Jesus was dead. No longer dying, not yet returning, just dead.

The featured trope of the day is Soft Reset. I'm conflicted if I find this fitting or not.

[up] It's basically the "have you tried turning it off and on again?" meme applied to Jesus. Which is... weird.

"He betrayed the Staaarks" is not the only problem here.

Or it's just a random trope selection.

I am certain that it doesn't have any connection to Easter. Underutilized or seldom seen tropes are often prioritized in trope of the day listings. Not every trope of the day follows a daily theme regardless.

Soft Reset also has nothing to do with the resurrection or turning something off, it's just a feature of videogames to return to the title screen.

The preview for Easter Egg has spoiled the joke. Also a fitting trope for the day.

I'm a bit late in responding, but yes, Soft Reset was chosen because it has a low wick count and not because of the day it was used for. As for Easter Egg, that choice and the choice for April 1 were deliberately tied to the days they're for, but I didn't know Easter Egg would end up with messy formatting due to a joke on the page until it went live as the featured trope.

Edit: Also, the "Have you tried turning it off and on again?" concept is covered by Have You Tried Rebooting?, which the Random Trope button incidentally defaults to if it isn't working properly (which happened at least twice).

So that was just my brain trying to find patterns when there are none. Great job, brain.

I didn't originally have a themed trope ready for April 8, so Grasp the Sun was kind of a last-minute addition when I decided to check to see if any tropes related to the sun or moon had low wick counts due to the solar eclipse in North America, and ended up finding an uncommonly used (but not starving) sun-related trope.

[up][up]I considered either it or Convenient Eclipse (if I went with either of them, Convenient Eclipse has a smaller wick count), but decided to go with something less commonly used.

I went with Cumulonemesis today because some areas within the path of totality had to deal with clouds. (I didn't, but I'm aware that not everyone had a clear view of the sky.) I'm aware that this trope isn't underused — I just couldn't think of anything else to go with the weather in some regions during the total solar eclipse.
