Image Links Clean-up and Maintenance

So I added some image examples to Double Weapon and had a look-over at the other links

• I removed extra text after the "jpg" in the Paddlesaw images because they came up blank until I did.
• The Shaolin Spade does not show up for me, might be a regional thing or an issue with the site/image.
• All three Dark Eldar hellglaive links go to a site that brings me to the explore page rather than the image itself (photobucket or something)

Otherwise the other images are all good.

I replaced those nonfunctional links with some new ones; do they work for others?

I found this on a post on the forum rules thread:

The illustrative images which are not chosen should be added to the relevant Image Links Wiki page. If several good, illustrative images were proposed, and there is no Image Links page, make it and add them to it.

I fixed the Paddlesaw images I originally uploaded on ImageLinks.Double Weapon after finding out that adding “vignette4” to a wikia image link prevents it from disappearing. I’m doing this to other wikia images I come across as well.

edit: nvm upon reading this I can see that my thing was already fixed . But does anyone know what's the difference between "static" and "vignette4" on wikia links?

Taking a look at ImageLinks.Camp Gay nearly all the images illustrate the "camp" part without illustrating the "gay" part.

• Jim Carrey and partner◊ from I Love You Phillip Morris Eh this does at least show two people together so maybe it could be barely allowed.
• Jean Armstrong from Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Trials and Tribulations Illustrates the "Camp" part but not the "Gay" part, this character isn't canonically gay anyway.

Any objections to be deleting all but the few good ones on here.

I re-added two of the Hugh Jackman images to ImageLinks.Camp Gay since at least he's holding rainbow-colored maracas. I also realized the third Brüno link was to the TV Tropes "external link" icon, presumably a copy/paste mistake. Janet Hsu of Capcom did confirm Jean Armstrong as gay, but I admit that's not clear in the image even though I added it in the first place.

That is actually a fair point that I missed.

ATT directed me here regarding my question ImageLinks.Moral Event Horizon

• Dr. Facilier killing Ray the Firefly in The Princess and the Frog
• Pong Krell killing the Clone Troopers◊ in Star Wars: The Clone Wars

Both are misuse as MEH can only happen once and they have already crossed it prior with far eviler acts with that would have/had far higher bodycounts (Facilier selling out the souls of all New Orleans, Krell tricking his armies into attacking each other).

Should they be cut? While images are more flexible on what's considered allowable, how much is to much My impression is This Image Is Not an Example only applies to page images which are supposed to convey the trope more than be a technically accurate example. ImageLinks.Complete Monster and Monster pages require they be valid examples, but that may be a special case.

Just cut away.

Another gallery of out-of-context JAFAAC images, Evil Is Sexy, where (predictably) the images depicts the "sexy" part but not the "evil" part.

Heck, the Sephiroth pics actually looks more like an archetypal anime bishonen, while the Johan Libert pic doesn't even demonstrate the "sexy" criteria. And the Three Evil Gals pic is borderline NSFW (while failing to demonstrate the "evil" part)

The NSFW stuff can be cut right away.

Complete Monster is a special case.

I had to cut a bunch of images from Sprite/Polygon Mix because they were hosted in Tinypic, so the links were all broken. Why do sites like it and Photobucket do that?

The reason why Tinypic links no longer work is because Tinypic shut down. Photobucket, I’m not sure why.

The Sonic meets PJ Masks image on ImageLinks.You Tube Kids Channel is just the YouTube private video symbol instead of the thumbnail it suggests.

Found ImageLinks.Evil Redhead and basically all of them are bad.

• Melisandre of Asshai◊ from A Song of Ice and Fire. Doesn't show why the person is evi.
• Ganon◊dorf◊ from Hyrule Warriors. Both don't show why the person is evi.
• Vitteaux from DanMachi: Memoria Freese. Doesn't show why the person is evi.
• Fiona Fox◊ from Sonic the Hedgehog (Archie Comics). Doesn't show why the person is evi.
• Cletus Kasady, later known as Carnage. This one is fine but the link is messed up so I will need to fix it.
• Misuzu from Kunio-kun. Doesn't show why the person is evi.
• Red Skull is sometimes depicted as red-haired.◊ This one that might work because we have the whole nazi thing.

I have been noticing that the Appearance tropes have an especially bad problem with poor images in the Image Links page.

Idea: We take find out what hosting sites are down, and start purging the links using them.
