Bringing up the following examples from Children's Party at the Palace:
- Awesome Music:
- The battle music between Peter Pan and the Lost Boys versus Captain Hook and his pirates sounded astonishingly epic to many.
- The pirate battle at the London Underground happens to have this charm too.
- Also, "Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious" happens to be very well-executed.
Bringing up the following example from If Beale Street Could Talk:
- Awesome Music: We'd say the whole soundtrack, but Agape is regarded as one of the best movie themes from 2018, and for a reason.
From YMMV.Wanda Vision:
- The series' original theme tune by Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez.
- The second episode uses "Help Me, Rhonda" by the Beach Boys during the scene where reality begins to intrude on Westview.
The first one in particular suffers not only because it lacks context, but also because the theme song changes completely with each intro sequence, and that link leads to a trailer instead of any theme or intro.
Bringing up the following example from The Avengers: United They Stand:
- Awesome Music: For all the show's flaws, the theme song is pretty awesome.
Bringing up the following example from Superman Returns:
- Awesome Music: Composer John Ottman is more than up to the task, both adapting John Williams' classic themes and adding some stellar contributions of his own.
Bringing up the following examples from Miami Vice:
- Awesome Music:
- Artist songs include "In the Air Tonight", "Long Long Way To Go", "Voices" and "Brothers In Arms". And then there's Jan Hammer's original music, including "Evan" and "Crockett's Theme". The soundtrack for the entire series remains one of the most memorable aspects of the show to this day.
- Glenn Frey's single "Smuggler's Blues" became a first-season episode.
- What other show could use Kate Bush's "Hello Earth" and make it work?
- The first episode's iconic use of "In the Air Tonight" by Phil Collins as Crockett and Tubbs drive to a deal and the former stops to call his ex-wife. This was the first time pop music had been used on television.
- Godley & Creme's "Cry" underlies a singular ending montage in "Definitely Miami."
- Awesome Music:
- "Numb/Encore", the Music/Jay-Z and Linkin Park mashup that plays during the strip club scene.
- Music/Nonpoint 's cover of "In The Air Tonight", which plays during the end credits of the theatrical cut and during the final battle of the director's cut
Bringing up the following example from Eternals:
- Awesome Music: The teaser's remix of Skeeter Davis's "The End of the World" has ethereal vocals and pounding drums. Usually, Marvel's licensed trailer songs sound either funny or menacing, but this one is just beautiful.
Eh, it could use a little more context, but it seems alright, as it at least tries to mention what makes the track good.
As I often do when I am unsure, requesting some more input from other tropers.

TRS Queue | Works That Require Cleanup of Complaining | Troper WallBringing up the following example from Harold and Maude:
- Awesome Music: "If you want to sing out, sing out..."
I don’t know a single thing about that film, so I’d just hide it.
back lolBringing up the following example from Moonbase 8:
- Awesome Music: The score by Steven Drozd is mesmerizing.
Bringing up the following examples from Skyfall:
- Awesome Music:
- Adele's theme "Skyfall", which incorporates the James Bond theme and foreshadows numerous events in the movie. It became the first Bond theme to win the Oscar for Best Original Song, said Oscar also being the first for the entire franchise since 1966 when Thunderball won Best Visual Effects and the first for an actual performance and not a technical award. For bonus points, Adele had only recently recovered from a strained throat that left her unable to speak for months.
- "Boum!" by Charles Trenet, which is played during Severine's execution.
- "Boom Boom" by The Animals, which is played when Silva shows up in the helicopter.
- If you could somehow express the concept of Mythology Gag in musical form, you would probably wind up with "Breadcrumbs".
From YMMV.High School Musical:
- Awesome Music:
- "Get Your Head in the Game".
- "Work This Out".
- "I Don't Dance". Bonus points for it being a musical number based around baseball of all things and working.
- "Bet On It", despite Narm, is still a great song. It's even more awesome in the Stage version.
- "The Boys Are Back".
- "Now or Never".
- "Can I Have This Dance" is absolutely lovely. "It's like catching lightning/the chances of finding/someone like you..."
- "Scream" is possible the crowning Awesome Music for the series.
- "Breaking Free".
- "A Night To Remember".
I can't help but feel these could use some context. However, it's been years since I saw the films and can't do it myself.
Fan-Preferred Couple cleanup threadFrom YMMV.Zettai Hero Project:
- The Unlosing Ranger's Theme, and all of the different versions of it, especially the one that plays when you have all of Darkdeath Evilman's Gear equipped.
- The Last Last Battle! Complete with Ominous Latin Chanting!
- A true hero never quits! Stand Up, Unlosing Ranger!!
- Sign Of Courage. If this doesn't pump you up for the fight with your bizzaro family, or the final boss battle, nothing will.
(These were listed under Crazy Awesome, which is currently being wick-stripped.)
I don't know the game, so have no idea what context to add. Also, one of the links is dead.
TBH, the only ones of these I'd consider awesome are "Boys are Back" and maybe "Scream", but it's subjective. The size of the list though makes me wonder if it used to be sorted as an Ear Worm entry...
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessLooking at the edit history I can't find any evidence of any being listed under Ear Worm.
Fan-Preferred Couple cleanup threadBringing up the following examples from Wild West COW Boys Of Moo Mesa:
Awesome Music: The series intro sang by Billy Dean is a pretty good country song.
- First chapter, first minute and we see the three heroes making their appearance by singing together.
- Every time Cowlorado Kid sings.
So what do I do with the High School Musical ZCEs. I haven't really watched the movies in awhile. Do I hide them?
Fan-Preferred Couple cleanup threadBringing up the following examples from Ghost Rider (2007):
- Awesome Music:
- The Hard Rock version of the country classic "Ghost Riders in The Sky" by Spiderbait.
- "The West Was Built on Legends", which includes Ghost Rider's epic transformation theme.
Bringing up the following example from Jem and the Holograms (2015):
- Awesome Music: Regardless of the quality of the movie, "Youngblood" is a pretty good song.
Bringing up the following example from Black Widow (2021):
- Awesome Music: Think Up Anger's haunting cover of Nirvana's "Smells Like Teen Spirit", which plays throughout the opening montage of Natasha and Yelena's days in the Black Widow program, fits the chilling sequence like a glove. It was previously used in the trailer of The Gallows
I think that Black Widow one is fine. It's got more context than most Awesome Music examples.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessBringing up the following examples from Star Trek V: The Final Frontier:
- Awesome Music:
- The score by Jerry Goldsmith. He returned after 10 years and gave it his full orchestra treatment. The Mountain, A Busy Man, Cosmic Thoughts
- Nichelle Nichols' cover of Hiroshima's "The Moon's a Window to Heaven" is very good, too. The fan dance, not so much.
Bringing up the following example from Demons & Wizards:
- Awesome Music: "Crimson King" isn't just a great song, it's also a good summation of Randall Flagg.
Maybe atleast an explanation of the components that make up the beauty.
