TLP proposals for each then?
Health sure is versatile. It's possible to be both light-headed and dim-witted. At the same time, no less.Special Ambidextrous is an existing trope. See Heroic Ambidexterity.
If my post doesn't mention a giant flying sperm whale with oversized teeth and lionfish fins for flippers, it just isn't worth reading. You said that earlier. I'm not convinced it is. Heroic Ambidexterity is about "this fighter is Badass because they can fight with both hands". It specifically says that non-combat dexterity is irrelevant for the purpose of qualifying for the trope.
Special Ambidexterity (Name TBD) is a mirror of Special Southpaw (Name TBD), where their non-combat dexterity is a Plot Point or a defining character feature. Fast Eddie, from Callahan's Crosstime Saloon can play a different song with each hand on the same piano. This does not qualify for the current Heroic Ambidexterity definition.

Link to TRS threads in project mode here.To get the ball rolling again, I wrote a rough draft for Left-hand Advantage / Southpaw Advantage on TLP. I just threw it together so any help on that will be appreciated. I might also write drafts for some of the other tropes as well if no one else wants to.
EDIT: Situational Southpaw and Artistic Southpaw are already in the TLP but no one linked them to this thread so I didn't know they existed. There's already a Lefthand Advantage draft there too but I guess I will go with the one I made.

Macron's notesThrew in a hat for the Southpaw Advantage draft. It looks great so far.
she/her | TRS needs your help! | Contributor of Trope ReportSouthpaw Advantage has been launched crosswicking shortly.

Macron's notesI fixed the crowner.
Patiently awaiting the release of Paper Luigi and the Marvelous Compass.Um, does anyone have any interest in making Right Arm Quirk and/or Special Ambidextrous? I don't think am able to write a good description for those tropes.
Also I am having a hard time gathering examples of Artistic Southpaw on TLP. Is it Too Rare to Trope?

Macron's notesOk, I want to launch Situational Southpaw soonish. I feel like the name should be changed to something broader Situational Hand Switch since righties are included but no one responded to me. I hope someone answers my questions too.
I couldnt find any examples of Right Arm Quirk on The South Paw's example list and I dont know think I can write a draft Special Ambidextrous right.
After Situational South Paw launches is it ok to move on with turning The South Paw into a disambiguation?

Macron's notesI randomly remembered this page today and I gotta say, I still harbor my concern from 2015 (!) that "southpaw" as a term for a left-handed person is no longer a well-known term at all. I'm not sure it's the best choice for naming the tropes this one is being split into.
Fair point, but most of them are still in TLP, so you should probably discuss this on the drafts themselves.
Current Project: Incorruptible Pure PurenessBumping so I can get answers to
Macron's notesLaunched "Situational Southpaw" as Situational Hand Switch. Crosswicking now. Keeping Lefties Are Artistic in the TLP indefinitely as I still can't seem to get more examples of it Anyone else is free to create drafts of the other tropes suggested on the crowner.
What needs to be done next is to turn The Southpaw into an example-less supertrope. But I don't know how to go about that. After we rewrite the description, what do we do with the wicks. Split them off to other tropes and leave the ones about left handed characters that don't fit any of the subtropes?
Edited by MacronNotes on Mar 1st 2020 at 12:26:48 PM
Macron's notesI am thinking The Southpaw should be made into a disambig. Being left-handed isn't inherently tropeworthy (the page quote on People Sit on Chairs even says so), and valid examples can be moved to the subtropes.
Thanks for all your work on this!
"It's just a show; I should really just relax"Thanks!
And yeah it should be a disambiguation. Its just that the crowner says to make it a supertrope. I can make into a disambig if there aremt any objections
Macron's notesDisambiguation draft:
Left-handedness/Southpaw characters on their own aren't tropes. Here is a list of tropes that left-handed characters or left-handedness might fall into:
- Ambidextrous Sprite: Character sprites in video games are almost always ambidexterous.
- A Sinister Clue: Left-handedness used as a sign of evil.
- I Am Not Left-Handed: A character reveals that they are not left handed but are instead right handed.
- Left-Handed Mirror: A right handed character is mirrored by their left-handed counterpart/twin.
- Right-Handed Left-Handed Guns: In First-Person Shooter games, right/left handed characters are often paired with left/right handed guns.
- Southpaw Advantage: Left-handed ness gives a character an extra edge in combat/competitions.
- Situational Hand Switch: A right handed character becomes restricted in some way, injured or incapacitated, which causes them to not be able to use their right hand. They now have to learn how use their left hand.
Any more?
Also, if this becomes a disambig, I can cut the subpages, right?

Macron's notesI decided that we might need a new crowner so here are the options:
- Disambiguate The Southpaw
- Turn The South Paw into a exampe-less supertrope.
- Do Nothing
New crowner. Hollering for a hook.
Macron's notesGot it.
So the leading option is 10 in the green and has no nays. Everything else is in the red.
So I think this could be ready to call.
Macron's notesAlright then, calling in favor of disambiguation.
she/her | TRS needs your help! | Contributor of Trope ReportTurned it into a disambiguation. Will get to the wicks and subpages later after I finish some of Hair Decorations wicks.
Macron's notes
Crown Description:
What would be the best way to fix the page?
Calling crowner in favour of the following definitions (not necessarily under these names) becoming tropes:
- Southpaw Advantage: Left-handedness being an advantage
- Situational Southpaw: Character is forced to use one hand over the other.
- Right Arm Quirk: Character is forced (as in Situational Southpaw definition) to use one hand because their other hand isn't a hand; they're a Blade Below the Shoulder, Arm Cannon, Hook Hand, Combat Tentacle, etc.
- Artistic Southpaw: Left-handedness being a sign of being artistic/creative.
- Special Ambidextrous: Character being ambidextrous makes them special/stand out.
