Oh, yeah. Thinking about it, maybe no caption is the best, unless there is a policy against that.

No joke is the worst option. The best option imo is a different joke than what's already in the image. The middling option is restating the same joke as is in the image.

The image/caption combination on Gay Paree seems more like Eiffel Tower Effect. Changing the caption should do for now, but I would start a thread.

Honestly, there's also some mileage to illustrating The Eiffel Tower Effect with something that isn't the Eiffel Tower.

The image on My Country Tis of Thee That I Sting seems pretty self-explanatory, so the caption seems to add nothing and only explain the joke.

I wouldn't necessarily call it redundant, but it's not very good. I'd be fine with pulling it.

This Is Gonna Suck's caption doesn't make much sense to those who don't know the film^note I don't know it either. And after suffering too much of "suck" you may even not have a chance to go berserk anymore.

Also for the Not Safe for Work page: the image is a pothole to a non-existent page. Is that ok?

This is more of a general issue, but one caption-related thing that I'd like to bring up as a means of clarifying ambiguities and providing directions for any further cleanup is captions on music album pages.

Even before I started writing album pages, it's been an unspoken tradition on the Wiki to caption each page image— the album cover— with a quote from a song on the album. However, opinions on length and formatting aren't as consistent: when I created the page for Melt for instance, I quoted a single line that seemed particularly "punchy," but a while later, Macsen expanded it to the entire pre-chorus that it came from and made similar edits on the other Peter Gabriel album pages.

Other folk's album captions don't indicate a sitewide preference and go in various directions.

With that in mind, is there a single "proper" way to do this, assuming these captions are allowed at all? I noticed some album pages with captions and others without, and the music pages in general tend to attract problematic editing habits that I've emulated in the past out of naivety. I prefer the single-line captions, but it'd be helpful to have some clear confirmation on the matter.

Actually the current Chicken Walker image is just over the top silly. It doesn't really illustrate the trope. And if somebody picked the image just to be able to point out its silliness, that's not a good way to go. I'd rather take it back to the image pickin thread.

It does illustrate the trope. It's just also a literal interpretation. Its only real potential issue is making the trope look too narrow.

I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.

It clearly shows a walker with reverse-joint legs, which is exactly what the trope is about. And again, as mightymewtron has pointed out, it's also a literal interpretation. In fact, the suggestion captions would also lampshade that the trope does not require actual chicken motifs (in fact, the most upvoted caption suggestion as of the moment of writing this comment flat-out states "Chicken motifs are not a requirement").
