This thread is for general discussion of page quotes, whether to change, move or remove them.
Unused quotes should be put on a Quotes Wiki page (just replace the namespace in the URL of the wiki page you are making a quotes page for with Quotes/) or, if they don't have an article, on Quotes Looking for an Article.
Image captions are discussed elsewhere and have their own thread in the Image Pickin' forum.

I agree and I like your suggestion more than the current.
Reposting (with a few tweaks) since I previously only got one response.
Maybe this isn't the right place to ask this, however, I'm uncertain about this particular quote for Quotes.Team Rocket Wins. While I feel it might work out-of-context, in-context it's not an example, though the speaker at the time thought he won. Also, part of me is unsure if everything after "I ate that darn canary!" is unneeded or not.
In case I need to bring this up, I'm aware I don't need to consult this thread in regards to Quotes subpages, I'm asking it because I'm unsure about this particular quote. Anyway, here's the full quote in question:

If it's a subversion, it's still an example. The last sentence is relevant, since it's about winning.
Thanks. However, while I understand subversions are still examples, this case isn't a subversion either (if that's what you're getting at); he thought he ate the bird, when he actually didn't. Also, besides the final sentence, do you think the quote works?

Jump Scare and Video Game Setpiece functionally share a quote. Which one should we cut?
Peter Capaldi has two quotes. I think the first is the better one.
Fan-Preferred Couple cleanup threadI agree with keeping the first. Plus, the second has a Administrivia.Sinkhole.
Yeah, I'll get rid of the first one. It feels strange to me to have it there, though that's probably just me. And the first is better anyway.

—signature not found—x4: The quote is more suitable for Video Game Setpiece. Jump Scares can happen in any visual medium, so it should be easier to find a replacement.

The Revolution Will Not Be TropeableMirror-Cracking Ugly has no attribution and isn't formatted properly.
Alright, the Jump Scare quote is cut.
Googled the quote and got no results other than the page itself, so I think that's safe to cut.
Kick The Son Of A Bitch's quote sounds like Naruto is just smacking Hikaru for being a brat, which is not what that trope is about. It says nothing about Hikaru's wrongdoings or whether Naruto knew of them.
The old page quote for Suicidal Cosmic Temper Tantrum.
I believe the old one converts the trope better as the new one doesn't work without context. thoughts?
Revert.

I vote Revert.
A society grows great when old men plant trees whose shade they know they will never sit in.(x3) I think the original is more demonstrative. Also, the second quote is a Spoiler.
Also, since it's getting buried (and several days have passed), do you all think my suggestion for Quotes.Team Rocket Wins is a good quote?
Bequeathed Power currently has a Green Lantern quote:
That sounds like it's covered by I'm Dying, Please Take My MacGuffin (which has that scene as the current page image), not this trope, though - Bequeathed Power is specifically about directly transferred superpowers etc., not giving a successor your physical MacGuffin (which may in turn bestow powers).
Should we drop the current quote to help minimise confusion? If so, any thoughts on a good replacement?
seems we're allowed to suggest page quotes, so here's me throwing my hat in the ring for Crying Critters, from Adastra2018 -
- Alexios: I was running from platform to platform. Wolves all around me trying to touch me because they've never seen a cat before, and I could barely read the signs because... well, for my species, water comes from the eyes when we're stressed, so...Player: Ah, you were crying.

works for me.
x3 I think the quote for Bequeathed Power works better for that trope than I'm Dying, Please Take My MacGuffin, b/c the Green Lantern ring is not a MacGuffin. A MacGuffin is an object whose only importance is that everyone wants it, but it has no value in and of itself. The Green Lantern ring provides the superpower, so passing it on is bequeathing power.
Anyone else think that Omnipresent Tropes' quote is too long?
It's 7 lines on mobile?
Then again:
...
Grandfather Paradox's is ~15+?
But my main concern there, is, should we convert the Fimfiction link into a regular Fanfic namespace redlink? Not like the fic is hard to find, given quote and name.

Disambig Needed: Help with those issues! tvtropes.org/pmwiki/posts.php?discussion=13324299140A37493800&page=24#comment-576the quote on Omnipresent Tropes was already cut from an absolute whopper of a quote. i can't really be sure on any alternatives, but if it's still too long it might be time to just swap it out
Oh. Staring at it a bit more...
"The influence of moe is in almost every genre of modern anime."
Does it do anything beyond reiterating the end of the previous sentence? "taken over a huge part of the identity of what anime is today."

Disambig Needed: Help with those issues! tvtropes.org/pmwiki/posts.php?discussion=13324299140A37493800&page=24#comment-576Last time I edited a page I got the go ahead for on Image Pickin, I was told I should wait for someone else to decide. For now I suppose I'll leave the page quoteless, and if it remains uncontested I'll take that as the go ahead.
The page quote for Anti-Mentor contains the r-slur. I'm guessing that should be changed, right?

What should be the page quote for Monster.Fan Works?
i don't think the quote on The Movie is sufficiently demonstrative; it's not clear what they're talking about. the best quote on the Quotes page is from the Simpsons movie, but the page image already uses that. does the Ed, Edd, & Eddy quote work, maybe with Ed's line clipped off?
